In this video Ronald Kanne (woodturner in the Netherlands) turns a round stick planer. It is a sort of a giant pencil sharpener. It can make dowels or a long walking stick.

altijd leuk om te zien hoe 'shoptools' gemaakt worden. en uberhaupt om te zien wat er nog meer gemaakt kan worden op een draaibank.
bij de naam stokschaaf krijg ik meer een beeld van een spookschaaf (spokeshave). dit soort gereedschap is in het engels meer een tenon cutter (pen- of pennenscnijder voor kortere lengtes, vaak draait het gereedschap dan in een boormachine rond ipv het werkstuk). of een dowel cutter bij doogaande lengtes zoals hier. weet niet of een deuvelsnijder een gebruikte benaming is. maar goed, dat zijn mijn 'two cents'. het gebruikte schaafmes is er wel een die gepikt is van een stok- of spookschaaf overigens :)
