    Ronald, cosmic stuff, a lovely piece. I have a piece of box that might just be big enough for me to try this but first I need to finish my self-closing hollow form, it is still closing.

    Oh, great project. The look on your face, so happy 😁 that it came out ok. I also enjoy starring up at the night sky through my telescope and Saturn 🪐 is my favourite planet (next to Earth 🌍 of course). It’s going to be a long time before I get the skill to make this project. I will try though. Thanks for another fantastic video. All the best from the UK.👍 🇬🇧

      Agree with the first part of this comment BUT what a shame to end up seasick because the image is sometimes swaying all over the place. Also the music is unnecessary - it was ridiculous to have the sounds of the lathe, the sanding and the extractor, plus the music.

    amazing work. i am 15 and i have watched every video of yours. i have my own lathe a delta mod 46-460 and it works great for me. i have learned myself mostly but also learned from you i love the way you can turn stuff soo nicely i have spent all my money on buying a lathe and the tools. but i have one problem i cant buy a sharpener my woodcraft store had to close down so i was wondering if you could hook me up with one i live in USA in Oregon. have an amazing day 🙂

    Love the Saturn box !.
    I do have a question i hope you've not been asked a million times and bored answering 🙏, what bevel angle are you grinding your spindle gouge as it looks shallower than 45 ?.

    • @ronaldkanne
      @ronaldkanne  5 місяців тому +1

      @@max.fleming1045 not bored Max. I must say i don't know exactly, but i think it is just under 45 degrees yes...

      @max.fleming1045 5 місяців тому

      @@ronaldkanne thank you for replying. I just replaced my old Robert sorby 1/2" with a posh Crown M42 gouge. It came with a rather odd grind, but still 45. I kept the 45 but ground the wings back further and it works nicely but it's ground to a very decisive point which I don't much like. My Robert sorby has a more rounded tip much like yours which I assume is down to flute profiles. To my eyes it looked like yours is closer to 40 & I wondered if that might make a difference?. I'm a bit cautious of doing lots of experimental grinds on such an expensive tool.
      PS, thank you for the videos as I learn so much every time.
