I take it because I want to breathe! Without air you die. It’s as simple as that. Just take it in the day time or morning. There’s nothing worse than a blocked nose! It feels like there is cement up your nose and it’s going to close down your air ways. That it’s self is scary. I suffer with asthma too. So when my nose closes up I get anxiety thinking what about if my throat closes up too? Sudafed really helped me! Don’t listen to this guy. Now I’m eating really healthy cut out acidic foods like milk and dairy eat a lot of plants I rarely have to use Sudafed but all I’m saying is USE it if you need it. Fix your diet eat more alkaline foods, be happy without suffering! No one has to suffer in life. God bless

I noticed automatically the energy, so I adapted and changed my diet and now I feel great. Sleep 8hrs now. I eat three meals. I just don’t abuse the pill. people complain because the think the pill or whatever drug should be fair and balanced in effects.

    1. I take pseudo ephedrine but only when my chronic sinus congestion is becoming hard to put up with. I never get colds. One 60mg tablet about once a month, and the relief is very real. I would not use it regularly because it contracts blood vessels, and one wants one's vessels "open" not clogged.
    2. I've not found a cause/effect relationship in the literature between this drug and stroke. The insomnia effect is real so I take it in the morning. By evening, it wears off and allows sleep. The stimulating effect is very real also - one feels energized.
    3. BUT,.. if I take the label dose over say a couple of days I get an ocular migraine side effect, which is disabling - flashing multicolored lights. And not from the traffic.

Recently Ive had sudden eye problems having blurred vision and reduced sight including loss of colour and dry eyes. My GP was very concerned that I have been taking sufafed for the last 2 years so told me I should immediately come off it. I explained that my vision had gone from 4k UHD with HDR to standard definition you would find on an old VHS TAPE. He prescribed me a steroidal spray to help keep my sinus clear and told to keep my opticians appointment for further investigation and was sent on my way. I stopped taking sudafed that morning. In the evening the blurriness stopped and my eyes began to pour with tears again. Quite literally I cried tears because I thought I was losing my vision perminately and the thought of not seeing my kids grow up and being totally blind hit me hard. Is it just a coincidence or is sudafed a real dangerous risk to eye sight and to blame for my problems? I had that appointment with the doctor 4 days ago now and as each day passes my eye sight is improving. I hope I can recover my original 4k vision I had little more than a month ago. If anyone else has had these side effects please message me because this has been a real scary time for me. It has made me value bot only my eyesight but my whole existence. May if there is a God he has ordained to teach me a lesson and value what I have more? Who knows.

Unfortunately, There's NOT true alternitive that can replace Pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is extracted from the Ephedra Plant, a bush-like plant that growns in cold-dry regions around the world especially on mountains, most commonly in Northen China, Mongolia, Northen Italy, Switzerland, Canada etc... Pseudoephedrine is not far off from Amphetamines (speed), which comes from the same Ephedra Plant, it was synthesized and discovered in the late 1800s and ampthetamines have been used from the 1920s and 1930s for many medical uses, such as cold medicine, asthma inhalers, as a diet pill (as it supress appetite) and as an antidepressant (as it does increase the level of serotonin in the brain making you happier), many famous actors and singer would take ampthetimes daily to give themselves energy, lose wight, breath better and make themselves happy, people such as Judy Garland, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and many others. The problem with ampethamines and the Ephedra Plant is that is highly addictive, dangerous for the heart as increases heart rate, high blood pressure and it because increases the serotinin level in the brain, it can cause insane, weird and paranoia behaviour after a long time use. Until the 1970s, it was perfectly legal to buy over the counter meds containing amphetamines, just like cocaine was legal to buy in pharmacies as a pain-killer from the mid-1800s all the way to early 1900s. Amphetimines are still used today in medicine for ADHD, they're on very low doses and by prescription only. Pseudoephedrine, on the other hand, has been used for cold meds from the 1970s as a "safer" option as it's less dangerous and additive compare to Amphetimines, but from the 1980s drug dealer used to buy lots of Sudafed pills to break down Pseudoephedrine and turning it into Methamphetamine (meth, ice). This is why it's very hard to buy over the counter Sudafed containing Pseudoephedrine, as the pharmacies and Gov is worried people might use it to make illegal addictive drugs with it, you can still buy it over the counter, but the gov makes harder to get it, many questions will be ask, why you buying it? and in some country you have to sign and date when you buy a box of Pseudoephedrine and only 1 box of 12 pills can be sold and sometimes only once per patient forever, meaning, it would be hard for you to buy once a month unless you go to another country. In the 1990s, Pharmaceutical company started making decongestion drugs with Phenylephrine as active ingredients instead than Pseudoephedrine, as they're not related and they don't come from the same plant, it's easy to buy over the counter and without any question asked. The sad truth is that Phenylephrine doesn't actually work, they're been several studies and clinical trial in the early 2000s, and proven to be not effective compare to a placebo. Both groups took Phenylephrine and sugar pills had the same final results: blocked nose. I hope this helped. I work in the NHS of UK and I'm specialised in Pharmaceutical production of chemotherapy drugs for patients with brain cancer.

well, most doctors are taught to sell pills and there are many things that will open your nostrils, you will have to research that on youtube and write down what works and what does not, but sounds like you have an allergy and local honey, unfiltered and raw can do amazing things for breathing and most honey in the stores is garbage, google , " how honey can help my breathing" on youtube and see what you get and there are other herbs and garlic and all kinds of stuff you have to try before you resort to pills

and i have bouts of asthma this time of year with pollen an all and my nose is always plugged up but what actually helps my asthma is some kick ass quality home grown with no pesticides reefer flowers and the hash and did you know that doctors in the 20's and 1930's used to prescribe marijuana for asthma? they sure did but the alcohol and tobacco power assholes took over the politicians and made reefer illegal, just like they are doing now up in canada, type in canada legal reefer problems and check out the posts on youtube and they are doing good in california making pot growers test for mold as this mold has already killed several people and they did random testing of pot samples from all across california and found every stinking single sample to have black mold on it, nice huh? but edible pot can also provide relief for nasal congestion as it does for me, give it a try, and are you a dude or a lady if i may ask and where are you located, like what state if your in the usa?

I totally changed recently , cant sleep, having heart issues and now I find out its because of over use of these nasal sprays that contain Phenylephrine and Sudafed- It's all starting to make sense.. I would get pissed of for no reason, I feel like a robot with no emotions.. nothing phases me anymore

This substance is used in a medicine branded as Rhinos SR, and they gave me this 3x a day during allergy season. I could never sleep well, it keeps me alert at 2am, and my depression comes full swing (and the angry asian parent lecturing us over bedtime did not help 😂)
