In Canada, the Toyota Corolla starts at $15,995 while Dodge Dart starts at $19,195. I don't know why anyone would buy a Dart over a Corolla. The resale value alone is makes the decision a no-brainer.
I have owned five Toyotas in my life (1 Corolla, 2 Camrys, 1 Sienna, and 1 Echo). Currently we have a 14 year-old Camry and a 2 year-old Camry. The older one will not die! It has endured 14 years in Newfoundland (a salty, harsh environment). It still looks good and it rides extremely well. Maintain these vehicles and they will go and go and go.
I have a 2005 Corolla that is almost 11 years old and 186000 miles and it is still working great with only its general maintenance... I just bought the 2015 Corolla 2 weeks ago and I have to say Wow love love it the difference between the 2 cars is unremarkable and it is so sexy looking lol ... I will still keep my 2005 Corolla until it dies though
My god. This Zach sounded so alike Micah. And they are both very good at doing reviews in getting all the important bits out with a little bit of humor. Definitely one of the strong points of KBB. You guys just need to up your game in getting out more videos. Thumbs up.
The single largest issue is the steering slack - especially on the highways. When I travel in the middle lane (which I have to do when going through larger cities like Atlanta or Jacksonville, both of which are frequent stops for me), I have to constantly correct the slack, even on straight ways. Other than that, this Corolla is a wonderful car and if you can deal with the steering adjustment, it's definitely worth it for the price.
Drew Form I'm a new legal driver as I am now 16 and got my permit this january..I started driving in my backyard at 7...parking lots at 9 and drove on the streets for the first time at 10...my mom had me do the lesson as my previous driving experiences were with my dad
My parents bough me a 2016 corolla , it was a gift for graduation , due to i have done my study in BB this year. But i have not driven it ,because am still in malaysia soon will go back home .
I bought an 07 with a five speed. being the base model, it is a no frills car.i don't even have cruise control or power windows. I'm lucky to have ac. that said, I'm in love with the gas mileage of around 35 combined. the very low cost of maintenance and repair and less things to break have changed me from a Ford fanatic to a Toyota lover.
I have a 2001 and it does have power windows and cruise control. I wonder why they cheapened it in the later models. The board above the glove box feels good too.
I bought the 2014 S model for my mom. The above review is pretty accurate, though I don't recall the constant steering correction when I took it for a drive. It has a sporty look, has average power for its class, and comes with the Toyota reputation of quality and resale value.
+goe5 Hope its doing good, im building these daily now. If that back seat hurts your ass just letting you know there is a side impact bar under the seat that the Mexico cars aren't getting. Its so much softer and only 4 bolts holding it in there. Save your life or your ass, your choice! lol
I bought a used 2014 Corolla L (4-spd Auto) with 77k miles last summer (2020). After a couple days I noticed it downshifts hard when I'm on the freeway. I took it to the Toyota dealer I bought it from and they couldn't figure it out. The 2nd Toyota dealer reset the computer control for the transmission. I also flushed the transmission myself and I used AMSOIL Signature series Fuel Efficient transmission fluid. So far the issue hasn't returned, but I've only put 3k miles on the car since I had the computer reset. The WS Fluid gets dirty quickly, but the dealership insists it's fine. I have to add that when I took the 2014 Corolla back to the dealership I bought it from, they let me drive a 2020 Corolla LE Hybrid service loaner. The 2020 is way, way, way more comfortable than the 2014 model.
Yong Geun Song It's amazing man. Especially if you get the s plus, because it includes leather seats, sport mode, and good tire rims, which I adore the most. Overall, the car is one the best among its types.
The way I see it, if you don't enjoy the duty of driving or start smiling every time you nail the throttle or turn aggressively onto a twisting back road, then this car is perfect for you. It makes the pocketbook smile too I guess.
+Trades46 not everyone can afford to buy a car that provides the joys of driving you mentioned. I have a Camry because it wasn't too expensive, it doesn't break down, gets me places in comfort, etc. Do i wish i could have purchased WRX STI? Of course! See, I'm the kind of guy even if i had the money, i would have purchased a sleeper and make it real fast. Would love to see faces on guys who drive BMW's, Cadillac, the cocky motherf***** loose to Camry. LOL
adyyy22 I said the Corolla is a good car, but just rather boring in respects. I've driven a 2014 Camry SE 2.5 in my visit to Vegas and I was impressed. It had good power, good MPGs & even under ~110F degrees the car never once overheated & the A/C stayed ice cold. I just wished the steering wheel had more weight to it. To each their own; I love sleeper cars just because I can wipe the smirk off that 328i who drives like an ass. I've encountered asshats in BMWs (mostly) and some in Lexuses, but most Cadillac drivers tend to be...well, slow. Seniors really, so I don't understand why Cadillac of all brands.
Trades46 With new styling and more power, Cadillac now attracts more younger buyers, same as Lexus. I have encountered quite a few Dbags driving new Cadillac's. (I'd never buy one, GM POS) These Dbags are just as bad and entitled as BMW drivers.
adyyy22 I don't know if I should feel insulted or what since I could be very well thinking of an ATS 3.6 or ATS-V in the new few months. I'm still not even out of University yet.
In terms of passenger space, this is the best compact car designed for it. I'm looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient, sedan with enough space to fit my 6'3" "curvy" brother. The back seats are roomier than a Chevy Impala or Toyota Avalon....PERFECT!!!
have one for 5 months now. can't complain. ride is very smooth and very efficient. getting 39mpg average on a 30/70 city hiway ride.. getting a best 56 mpg once.
Easily the best car in its class. The exterior is attractive and the interior is very functional. Here where I live dealers can't keep LE's in stock and with good reason. The 2016 Toyota Corolla LE offers tremendous value!
+furballbear Your saying that the Corolla is easily better than the Civic or the Jetta? Not really. It's probably the least attractive of the bunch, bad steering and little features. The only thing it has going for it is that it has good gas mileage.
I own a Toyota Corolla 2011 Model, the other day I went to test Drive a 2014 diesel version. My O My the smoothness and cabin serenity was amazing I was going to trade my old corolla but my Honda Accord 2.4 will be the casualty, it's days are numbered. I will now have two Corollas. They are cheap to maintain here in South Africa than Hondas. We have European spec models.
i have teaching driving for 25 years and i use corollas because of value, durability, visibility GO TO LOCAL DMV AND WATCH 90% OF DRIVING SCHOOLS USE ONLY COROLLAS
I own two driving schools and teach teens to drive. 90% of the training cars are Corolla hands down. Driving school instructors uses Corollas not Focus or Civics because of cost and dependability. Just go to any Motor Vehicles test sites and see how many Corollas are use.
I got my 14’ for a little over 10k. I also don’t have slack in my steering wheel. I can let go and stay straight. Only problem I have is the driver seat isn’t too comfortable
I have the 2014 Corolla L great car . In my opinion don't bother moving up with all the options. If you're going to spend $23,000 for a Corolla yo might as well get a Camry. I got my car for $16,000.
Thanks.. Any new car for me will always be as exciting.. :-) I guess i'll settle for corolla then. Realibility i think is important especially for new car owners like me
+Jerrico Sagala what car did you end up getting or liking?? Because I'm really close to buying my very first car and like yourself I've never driven like that except when I rented a car
+Angelcake1371 i ended up buying altis 1.6v. I was close to buying a civic but i realized that it was too lowered for humpy roads in our area. I couldnt compare becuase altis was the very first car i drove. Im happy so far.
I've had my 2015 Toyota Corolla LE Plus for about a month now. I absolutely love this car. I had to come back to this review and say that the handling is excellent. I see this guy in the review stating it has "sloppy steering" and needs "constant" redirection even on straight roads. I feel like he's exaggerating a bit in the video. Highly disagree. Steering and handling is awesome. Great car for the budget :-) highly recommend it to anyone who's considering this as their next car.
I really like the new corollas styling. Especially the xenon headlights and the wheels are phenomenal . I would love to get one this summer . Do you guys think I should get it ? Are toyotas as good as people say?
I have a 2014 LE. That is the next to cheapest trim and it has a backup cam, heated front mirrors, LED headlamps, usb and aux, touchscreen + Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, with a kickass radio (for the price). I say yes, but one. It ain't an Audi, but what it does it does best, get you from A to B with no drama.
It's a good that you said CVT automatic instead of CVT transmission. People don't realize that the T in CVT is already transmission. You don't say continuously variable transmission transmission. Just simply say cvt automatic or CV transmission.
Standard LED headlights. A first at the time. Luxury brands were still shipping their cars with halogens as standard, because LEDs were optional. Tragic.
Great car. Have the stripped down most basic model, and have done nothing but change the oil and gas it up... Great little car for city driving or highway cruise .
I have 2007 S and a 2015. The 2015 is more advanced and less insulated. The metal thickness of the body is half of that of 2007. The back bumper on the 2015 has no foam reneforcement. The 2015 feels like I am riding a motorcycle as I can here everything when it comes to road noise. I love my 2007 S more, and I feel it is safer. But the ride is definitely smoother in 2015, the seats are way more comfy as well. I will have to wear hearing protion otherwise it 85 decibel noise level inside a car is causing some hearing damage for me.
Really nice. But for me my 04 is perfect size. This one is way larger than I want or need. Great looking though and I hope just as reliable as my last 2 Corollas.
+pekothedog drive it for as long as you can because these new cars are never going to be as good as the old ones. I have to agree with WuWei Xu, new cars are safer, but not better in terms of quality.
Phu Doan I didn't bother to read the top part of your comment, but are you seriously comparing a laptop with a car? Laptops use processors that become outdated. Cars on the other hand, such as the Corolla, still use the same engine used 10 years ago. And just so you're aware, millions of people buy new cars every year. 300 thousand new Toyota Corollas are sold in the US every year.
Are there any car reviewers who take reliability into consideration? I'd take the 4sp auto over the dual pulley CVT just for long term reliability. And I'd really like to see a review of a Corolla with a CVT vs a Corolla with a 4sp auto after 100,000 miles are put on both cars.
Hmm, steering needs constant correction, I've read elsewhere..I wonder if is just a factory alignment issue. Cars that wander are fatiguing to drive long distances.
Personally I think most auto manufacturers are relatively reliable today; in fact consumer reports says that Toyota Mazda Subaru Honda and Hyundai have some of the best reliability ratings. If most commuter cars have reliability under there belt why choose the Corolla. Specifically the Corolla is quantifiably less powerful and less technologically advanced for the money by comparison to its competition. It has better mpg and starting price then some but is not the best. I think that Toyota sells well because of its reputation for reliability and follows a philosophy of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" which to me means outdated uninspired products like the Corolla Camry and Yaris. I think the Prius Avalon and FRS are very competitive but in general I don't think Toyota warrants its astonishing sails by comparison to its rivals.
My 2010 with 160k miles has been rock solid. Due to an accident is was given. 2016 for a couple weeks. Absolutely hated it. While it looked better inside and out, the cvt was just horrible and I could never get comfortable in the seat.
I really don't get why all the reviewers say the interior is so nice on these, I hate the super upright dash board and the out of place fake stitching, not a bad car by any means, but the interior is really ugly compared to the Forte, Civic and Mazda 3, in my opinion anyways.
Fair enough, too each there own, like I said not a bad car by any means, i personally don't like the styling, but if we all liked the same things the world would be pretty boring.
In all honestly, if you look at the competition the Corolla faces now-a-days, it's far behind in terms of styling. With the 2016 Civics new aggressive, and more 'mature' look, as well as Mazda's grown up styling, the Corolla still has a long ways to go. To me, it's still the baby of the compact car group.
+Jimmy Jam I have a corolla 2016 bro and i can tell you it looks really good, mazda 3 looks weird af the front of it is huge which makes it look ugly, tho the driving in mazda 3 is amazing also the color on them thats about it
+Phu Doan Depends on what the customer is looking for. Compared to the Mazda 3 (which I am a huge fan of) the Corolla is way cheaper, has a long history of reliability, more rear seat room and will most likely retain its value over time. I think for a first car purchase, the Corolla is an excellent choice.
I guess they don't make Toyota's like they use to. Purchased 2015 Toyota corolla. shortly after my first service notice vehicle had a rough idle when coming to a stop. idle drop below 500 rpm car will shake then idle would recover. The dealer standard replay when they cant solve a issue. " Unable to duplicate concern" Toyota wash there hands with the most sorry excuse ever. " Vehicle operating as designed" Every single time the vehicle comes to a stop idle will drop and vehicle will shake. So in other words Toyota sold me a peace of you know what. Oh did i forget to mention it also has the most annoying dash rattle.
Really... I have a 2015 Corolla Le Plus and the steering really is bad during highway driving. Other than that and the average road/cabin noise, car is very good so far for its price.
Cool I hope you enjoy it. It's a great car I have nothing bad 2 say. I just came back from a 12 hour round trip deep in central Texas and it handled so good.
As stupid as it sounds, I have looked and looked and looked for a new car for over 2 years. Of course, I want a reliable car with good gas mileage, AND A BACK WINDOW big enough to see out of (have you seen the newer cars lately??) - but what's been the biggest problem is finding a car that is NOT black, white, gray, silver, beige, tan, and all those other disgusting, ugly, boring colors. I had no idea it would be so hard to find. I really wanted a bright color car, but good luck with that. But I did find a 4Ever-Green car from Toyota and so that's what I finally bought. Please car makers - PUT SOME COLOR ON THE ROAD!!
I had a 95' corolla passed down from my dad and now bought myself this beauty and I'm hoping to pass it down to my kid one day.
+OttosGaming That's sweet :) Good luck!
I hope you live long and a happy life.
Ottos24 u may not believe me but the 95, 97 and 04 corollas are the best in the generation
Ottos24 i wonder how this car is going to be once it reaches 100 thousand miles if the cvt transmission will hold up.
Corolla e10 Driver here. Its just an awesome car. Its reliable, cheap and with about 25-30 mpg in the city and 35 on the highway its pretty okay too.
In Canada, the Toyota Corolla starts at $15,995 while Dodge Dart starts at $19,195. I don't know why anyone would buy a Dart over a Corolla. The resale value alone is makes the decision a no-brainer.

Hi.. What year is your 14 years old Camry that will not die ?
Is it 2002 Camry ?
I have a 2005 Corolla that is almost 11 years old and 186000 miles and it is still working great with only its general maintenance... I just bought the 2015 Corolla 2 weeks ago and I have to say Wow love love it the difference between the 2 cars is unremarkable and it is so sexy looking lol ... I will still keep my 2005 Corolla until it dies though
tom jones at 2:39
+cmiro2000 I still have my mother's '89 Corolla. 225k miles. I drive it every day to work, runs like a charm and cheap on gas.
I hope you enjoy your new car! :)
Did you get one with a sunroof !?
yes I did love it :)
I just bought 2014 corrola L model. Absolutely loving it 😍. So smooth to drive and no sound of engine what so ever. That's a plus for me.
My god. This Zach sounded so alike Micah. And they are both very good at doing reviews in getting all the important bits out with a little bit of humor.
Definitely one of the strong points of KBB. You guys just need to up your game in getting out more videos. Thumbs up.
I had a 93' Toyota corolla, my first car and still handles well, only few things. This cars never die. I'm considering bought this new one.
+Final Cut Gaming I agree with you based on my 2015 corolla le plus
Yeah I noticed that
+Head LIne I have celica last 10years it's good in highways steering firm and tight, Corolla steering very lose and not firm in high ways
Would you say the same about the latest version of the S Corolla, concerning the loose and non feel of its steering? Peace... ♐
My boyfriend noticed this on mine as well
257,000 mils on 2006 and still going strong!
I drove this with the 4 speed auto for a driving lesson back in March and I loved it...not many faults with the driving dynamics imo
When you say driving lesson, is that a driving lesson because you're a new driver?
Drew Form I'm a new legal driver as I am now 16 and got my permit this january..I started driving in my backyard at 7...parking lots at 9 and drove on the streets for the first time at 10...my mom had me do the lesson as my previous driving experiences were with my dad
My parents bough me a 2016 corolla , it was a gift for graduation , due to i have done my study in BB this year.
But i have not driven it ,because am still in malaysia soon will go back home .

+Ness Rosenbrad yours was probably higher trim than the base model. Corolla base models always was no frills
I bought the 2014 S model for my mom. The above review is pretty accurate, though I don't recall the constant steering correction when I took it for a drive. It has a sporty look, has average power for its class, and comes with the Toyota reputation of quality and resale value.
Toyota vehicle always have a high resale value

Mine was great. Saved my life. Trying to get it replaced. Help if you can. Thanks. www.gofundme.com/newride4jason?pc

they got the message and decided to make even uglier cars
the new civic looks nice
sportsMike87 and interior
im getting mine tomorrow for a driving test.
wish me luck, citizens of the internets.
Did you get it? Good luck
Sir. Boaz Mutatay
....yep. but im taking the test again on thursday...
My lease was just about up on my 2014 LE, so I traded it in for a 2016 LE yesterday. I think they're great cars.
good luck be sure to inform us how it went..I'm thinking of taking a test drive as well.

I got my 14’ for a little over 10k. I also don’t have slack in my steering wheel. I can let go and stay straight. Only problem I have is the driver seat isn’t too comfortable
Not a bad car at all. Bonus is that these are built at home too. Def an improvement over the previous iteration
Later model years have the added rear armrest and cupholders in the armrest itself!
They added it in 2015, which is what I have.
I have the 2014 Corolla L great car . In my opinion don't bother moving up with all the options. If you're going to spend $23,000 for a Corolla yo might as well get a Camry. I got my car for $16,000.
I got mine used with like 70k miles on it for 13,500. Car market was bad when I got it, but I freaking love this car so much.
Outstanding review
Ill will take the corolla over kia and hyundai and american cars in a heartbeat
I am planning to buy my first car ever. I have never driven any car before. Is corolla a good choice?

The 2015 feels like I am riding a motorcycle as I can here everything when it comes to road noise. I love my 2007 S more, and I feel it is safer. But the ride is definitely smoother in 2015, the seats are way more comfy as well. I will have to wear hearing protion otherwise it 85 decibel noise level inside a car is causing some hearing damage for me.
Really nice. But for me my 04 is perfect size. This one is way larger than I want or need. Great looking though and I hope just as reliable as my last 2 Corollas.
I am considering this as a first car, which I hope to get by the end of the year, is this good for beginner driver ?
Dimitar Margaritov yes
Just bought me a 2015 one to replace my rusted out 2005 Taurus. Definite upgrade for sure.
Hmmm...sad Corolla, sad! But nice review Zach! 👍
My 2003 Corolla never breaks... I don't know when I should change to a new Corolla.
Why don't you sell it and buy this 2015 one? I'd assume it's just as reliable and more importantly, it is safer.
+pekothedog drive it for as long as you can because these new cars are never going to be as good as the old ones. I have to agree with WuWei Xu, new cars are safer, but not better in terms of quality.
***** Probably the first one.
Phu Doan So you're telling me the majority of cars on the road are turbo diesels? That's a joke. You know nothing.
The LE ECO model has a new Valvematic engine tech which eventually could be in every model
I hate checking blind spots with this Corolla. Does anyone have a problem with checking their left blind spot? I really don't feel comfortable.
How do I make my Toyota corollas headlight vision wider
Are there any car reviewers who take reliability into consideration? I'd take the 4sp auto over the dual pulley CVT just for long term reliability. And I'd really like to see a review of a Corolla with a CVT vs a Corolla with a 4sp auto after 100,000 miles are put on both cars.
I've got a used Corolla with almost 90k miles and it runs like new. As long as you take care of it, it should take care of you.
Can someone explain to me whats the difference between the 2015 and 2016 Corolla? Looking to buy one soon!
2016 S Premium CVT bought new- now at 240K+ Miles!
My daughter is driving my wife's old 04. 240k.
I was driving this Corolla once and I got 54MPG on it.
I love this car so much!! Thank you for posting♡
What's with the drone at 3:24?
I remember when this car was new we got one and drove it off the lot I remember it clearly
Wierd that it doesn't have the rear centre flip arm rest. My 2016 has that and the auto headlights that you mentioned were lacking.
US still didn't get auto headlights. My 2016 doesn't have them, but my 2005 did
Whats that color name of that Toyota Corolla 2016.
Hmm, steering needs constant correction, I've read elsewhere..I wonder if is just a factory alignment issue. Cars that wander are fatiguing to drive long distances.
Better tires help a bunch
Ima get the basic model for 14,800 on Monday wish me luck
I saw a DJI Phantom drone at 3:23.
Lol I liked the poster!
My 2010 with 160k miles has been rock solid. Due to an accident is was given. 2016 for a couple weeks. Absolutely hated it. While it looked better inside and out, the cvt was just horrible and I could never get comfortable in the seat.
The camera angles were nice...
heh, its funny my 2000 corolla CE came with auto headlights... and I love that feature but at the same time I don't.
Great review..
I really don't get why all the reviewers say the interior is so nice on these, I hate the super upright dash board and the out of place fake stitching, not a bad car by any means, but the interior is really ugly compared to the Forte, Civic and Mazda 3, in my opinion anyways.
And what the hell, you get leather seats but not a leather wrapped steering wheel on the LE, thats just stupid!
+Jimmy Jam I have a corolla 2016 bro and i can tell you it looks really good, mazda 3 looks weird af the front of it is huge which makes it look ugly, tho the driving in mazda 3 is amazing also the color on them thats about it
Jimmy Jam yet, it ain't no baby in sales. outsells all other compact cars really
The baby? It's literally the senior citizen. That's why you think its styling isn't as modern.
Whats the kind of Corolla is this and how much is the price so i know this is the car i wanna buy.
$17,500
That on center slack would be an absolute deal breaker for me.
That's his shakyness. I have a Corolla S and the steering is stiffer than a teen boy watching an X rated movie
Richi Camacho Stiff steering can still have center slack.
lol
DisneyFan2015 roflmao
@@richicamacho7989it is not. I have an S Premium, and in Normal mode, the steering is very light. Sport only firms it a bit
not gonna lie this is probably gonna be my first car, just because its cheep and just fine for me
Sebastian Valdez You'll be paying a huge amount of money once the CVT breaks at 80k miles. About 4 grand for the repair.
+Sebastian Valdez Fact: MAZDA 3 is way better than toyota corolla
+Phu Doan Depends on what the customer is looking for. Compared to the Mazda 3 (which I am a huge fan of) the Corolla is way cheaper, has a long history of reliability, more rear seat room and will most likely retain its value over time. I think for a first car purchase, the Corolla is an excellent choice.
+Phu Doan The mazda may be cheeper but once you add like 2 features its like 3 grand above the corolla, so ill stay with my choice
Will you advise me to buy toyota corolla 2014??
this will be my first car
I guess they don't make Toyota's like they use to. Purchased 2015 Toyota corolla. shortly after my first service notice vehicle had a rough idle when coming to a stop. idle drop below 500 rpm car will shake then idle would recover. The dealer standard replay when they cant solve a issue. " Unable to duplicate concern" Toyota wash there hands with the most sorry excuse ever. " Vehicle operating as designed" Every single time the vehicle comes to a stop idle will drop and vehicle will shake. So in other words Toyota sold me a peace of you know what. Oh did i forget to mention it also has the most annoying dash rattle.
getting this car in september, please be better than a honda :D
what issues do you have with Honda?
Really... I have a 2015 Corolla Le Plus and the steering really is bad during highway driving. Other than that and the average road/cabin noise, car is very good so far for its price.
My parents bought me a 2016 Corolla S. I have to wait 6 days to get it tho ;-; the patience is killing me
did you get the car
yea i got today actually.
Cool I hope you enjoy it. It's a great car I have nothing bad 2 say. I just came back from a 12 hour round trip deep in central Texas and it handled so good.
+Mike Lopez put it in sport mode, changes everything
+Mike Lopez Did sport mode help?
this or a 15 Nissan Sentra??
another great example that quantity =/= quality
How so? It's the longest lasting, most reliable and best selling. What are you really trying to say?
Mazda sucks, not really reliable at all..
Ima boy and yes I will be getting one
what's the song called?
20,000 for one of these new? Not bad. 10,000 for one of these used with modest miles? HECK YEAH
Did anyone else get a corolla ad before this?😂
As stupid as it sounds, I have looked and looked and looked for a new car for over 2 years. Please car makers - PUT SOME COLOR ON THE ROAD!!
i have 98 corolla with 680.000miles
still running oroginal motor trans.
i wanna buy bew one just car not die
You may still want to consider upgrading for the improved features (Bluetooth, hands free calling, etc), safety, and fuel efficiency.
Boss ZX6-R how does yours burn oil? Like do you have to put oil in every week?
My so loved car
Reallifelores god- the Toyota corrola
how about the 500 pound body type variety? will this car hold no for dear life :D
Wait Corolla actually look good now?
