Evap problem has never been a problem with gas cap in my experience. People always go for that as a cheap fix. But fixing it makes no sense if it isn't the problem. It has become a myth of car advice really. The problem is usually the solenoid valve and it's because of topping up the gas to the filler neck. When it is over-full like that, gas is brought back towards the charcoal canister rather than fumes, and it gets in the solenoid valve. Over time (a few years) this does damage to the component and you need to replace that valve. It's a problem that can happen in many cars. Just don't fill up the tank that way. When the pump kicks off the first time, don't round it up to the nearest amount or whatever - just stop pumping.

Thank you! I'll give this a try. I was quite disappointed to find this same creaking noise on my 2018 Corolla with 50,000 miles, as I had on my 2007 Prius. Not quite as bad. The Prius had 120,000 miles. I really did expect better of Toyota, though. My partner's Prius, with 80,000 miles, also makes a similar sound. Usually, like most people say, it happens coming into a curb cut, at an angle, or turning and breaking at the same time, such that one corner of the front end sinks into the turn.
I have a 2017 Corolla Le purchased it with 55,000 miles now has 195,000 miles. Replaced the CVT Transmission. The trans fluid was changed at the 150k mark. So I dont know what difference it would have made. I do think the fluid should have been changed much sooner. In the future I would opt for a manual transmission. The CVT had several issues before it finally broke. The transmission would slip at first it was once a day then it became several times a day then within 6 months it broke. The old Toyotas and Hondas without the CVT are far superior. I will say the engine is outstanding as it has no problems whatsoever.

I own a 2015 Toyota corolla. Started having problems with the two front speakers not working. It appears its quite common. Water getting into the doors when it rains and causing the wires at the connector to the speakers to fail
I am having the E170 Toyota Corolla( Altis in india) 1.8 GL MT gear box. which was a pre worshipped one. Currently getting 50 miles per gallon and clocked 37500 miles. No issues cropped up so far. Thanks for giving a heads up through the video. Liked 👍 ur video
I have a 2014 Corolla L with the 4-speed Automatic transmission. The problem happens while accelerating, there is a thud (hard downshift) when downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear Gear at highway speed. Clearing the computer or disconnecting/reconnecting the battery solves this issue for a limited time, but the issue returns after a few weeks.
Thanks for sharing, I own a 2015 Corolla S. So far so good, other than recalls from Toyota, it is serving me well. Try to take care of it with regular maintenance.
Another common problem is the lower control arm bushings, on low speed or when you entering to driveway, a rattle noise comes from the front axle. To fix it just replace the whole lower control arm and you are ready to hit the road.
Just use silicone spray, it’s common for the lower arm bushings to make old spring bed noises... nothing wrong with them, just need some silicone spray on them and it will go away, common issue with the Corolla
My 2014 works so well I have had it for 6 years now I do my maintenance regularly and now I'm doing my brake fluid change and other things I live in Montreal Quebec Canada . Toyota's I would buy another one .

I have the 2015 Corolla LE with 49K miles, zero problems so far. The update for the CVT was done when the recall was issued. I'm taking mine in for a complete diagnostics check soon to prevent costly expenses. Should they change the transmission fluid and engine coolant? They are the original fluids @ 10 years old. Manufacturer says 60K for CVT.
2016 Corolla S 200k miles. Here’s my problems: all door speakers stopped working, MAF sensor, mainly the ENTIRE evap system needed to be replaced (expensive on this car), needed a pcm reprogramming.
I've been working on the lady's 2014 Eco with 90k on the clock. Its super slow but slower than usual now. Had some steep hills to contend with and barely made it up them. I'm hoping it's just in need of a tune up, injector cleaner, and filters. Maybe a trans fluid change and not the actual transmission. I was not aware that these had CVT transmissions because I rarely see them for sale with broken trans. Unlike like Nissan, who's CVT transmissions were made of paper maché.
I have a 2016 Corolla LE. The cvt transmission is noisy. It sounds like a turbine winding only when I accelerate. Is this whining jet noise normal? Am I going to need a cvt replacement to fix it? The cvt accelerates as it should but the noise is a bit concerning. I would appreciate some good advice. Thanks.

I just bought a 2014 Corolla L base model with 6 speed manual transmission. 27,500 miles and lifetime warranty... Is it a good car what do you guys think? 😁
Owned this car for seven years now, it has had no work done to it other than tires, oil, a set of brake pads, and a transmission fluid service ($100 can of fluid). So total cost of maintenance, $1800. Only issue is that radio screen. Cars paid off, hoping to get at least 10 more years out of it.
omg dude! Is your radio screen frozen? and cant use the bluetooth anymore? I have corolla 2014 and it just happened to me! But other than that, just like you said, everything else is flawless.
For toyota 11th Gen 2014-2016. I decided to change it myself and bought an android head unit. It has wireless apple carplay and wireless android auto for only $400! The changing process was super simple incase anyone else is looking for this
Doesn't sound like we can expect a whole lot of problems. I just bought a 2014 S, and though it does NOT have the Eco logo/decal on back, I see a green Eco light go on. I've heard Ecos have a lot of problems, but it does not have a decal-only the S.
With the CVT , can that cause the revs to dither or waver when you put the foot down all the way? It feels like something is preventing it from opening right up, just goes up down up down?
I have a 2014 LE, i reccomend getting some peppermint oil/spray to mitigate rodent damage, something about the wire coverings that they like compared to earlier gens. I apply about once a month, haven't had issues since
4 years in my 2016 and 140K later, NO issues at all so far. 🤷♂️ These may be the most common issues, but I bet they're still very rare vs a VOLKSWAGEN GROUP product's "common problems"..

How can i fix it?
My 2014 Corolla Altis VL (India) automatic transmission had some noise coming from underneath. Found one exhaust hanger mount damaged. Done only 47,600 kms. Bought as a certified used car in 2017. Unfortunately while taking the car to service centre by the mechanic he found engine check alarm. They diagnosed it as due to fuel injector issues. Replaced 4 injectors and 4 spark plugs. Also exhaust hanger mount replaced. Parts and labour cost $500. In India ethanol blending is being done. I’m not sure if this is the reason. The service guys mentioned that my car underside corrosion is on higher side. We stay close to the seaside. Possible future repairs will include suspension works.
My 2016 corolla is just about to hit 176,000 miles and the radiator fan started to fail. It was barely coming on and it was wobbly and came to the point i had to slap the fan to come on. The other problem is its on its 3rd set of front pads in 50k mile and eats front tires like candy and everytime i take it for alignment its in specs so idk lol. And it is time 2 change most of the motor mounts
+m capps Thanks for watching! One way to combat this is to turn on the A/C and set the temperature to the warmest setting. This helps dry out the cabin!

I have a Corolla 2017. Sometimes the steering feels intermittently heavy, sometimes it's feather light. No fault code is generated. Even changed the steering rack and EPS motor, despite that it feels heavier than other similar Corollas. Please help.
2014 Corolla L Eco has an intermittent ABS light on the dash that comes on. Also I have a intermittent red power steering light that flashes once and beeps intermittently.
I just got a 2014 Corolla S with the CVT. I drives fine and shifts fine when driving. The only thing I notice is when I shift from Park to Reverse or Drive to Reverse, there is about a 1-2 second lag and then it clunks into gear?? The car shifts instant and soft when going into Drive, Neutral, and Park. Any ideas what may be causing the lag and clunk going into Reverse?? I believe delayed engagement is that term for whats happening and Im hoping it just needs a fluid change and isnt a solenoid or valve body issue

Is it ever to late to change the trans fluid? My 2014 Toyota corolla has 110,000+ miles and ive never had the fluid changed. My mechanic said it never has to be unless it has issues. does RPM fluctuations at a stop light indicate bad motor mounts? Or could that be the trans? The mechanic i took my car to recently said i have bad motor mounts and thats the cause of the fluctuations/rpm dropping to 500 or lower. I just dont trust most mechanics nowadays and im just curious

There’s a problem with the audio system including backup camera on those Corollas , at some point it starts rebooting which never stops ! Is the problem fixable or the whole system should be replaced ?
Bro it’s off because you have to wait for someone to sit in it and use the seatbelt to be on or else why would you want to have it go off in case you get into an accident when you alone and no one it
How would you recommend changing the cvt fluid? Ive seen a very simple drain and measure technique, and a really complex method of shifting from drive to park repeatedly and sticking wires in the obd port.
Was looking at a used 15 Corolla and called the dealership because I wanted the trans serviced before buying from a friend. Was told it was a sealed unit and unless it was leaking to leave it alone. So I did and bought it as is.

The manual transmission is the strongest of the 2, and will last a long time. As for the CVT, as long as you don't floor it all the time and you're accelerating normally, as well as fluid changes regularly, it should be okay for a while but keep a close eye on it just incase.

More than likely not motor/trans mounts being that you aren't having the issue ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP WHEN THE ENGINE APPLIES TORQUE TO THE MOUNTS, that is If I'm comprehending your comment correctly. Your issue is while engine is at idle in gear with break applied waiting on the light to turn green which would lead more to other issues such as the couple listed in this video #1 MAF , INJECTORS, POSSIBLE BUT NOT LIKELY EVAP, OR WATERY / OLD ETHANOL FUEL but old fuel issues would resolve themselves in 2 -3 complete fill ups BUT WITH FRESHMAN , CLEAN, WATER FREE FUEL , slight chance of minor vacuum leaks only bad enough to show their presence when the engine is at it's lowest possible or lower than no load idle speeds. Lower than normal idle speeds occur when the brakes are pressed and/or the steering wheel is being turned while engine is @ idle .. A/C can have a slight effect on idle speeds as well

Liked 👍 ur video

great milleage 50 miles/gallon? maybe ur car is corolla hybrid?
I have a 2014 Corolla L with the 4-speed Automatic transmission. The problem happens while accelerating, there is a thud (hard downshift) when downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear Gear at highway speed. Clearing the computer or disconnecting/reconnecting the battery solves this issue for a limited time, but the issue returns after a few weeks.
I had to change my 4 speed transmission twice
That 4 speed transmission is probably ECT?
Thanks for sharing, I own a 2015 Corolla S. So far so good, other than recalls from Toyota, it is serving me well. Try to take care of it with regular maintenance.

Another common problem is the lower control arm bushings, on low speed or when you entering to driveway, a rattle noise comes from the front axle. To fix it just replace the whole lower control arm and you are ready to hit the road.
+Luis Cruz Thanks for the feedback and tip!
Mine makes a noise when i leave my driveway sidesways, only pullin out of my driveway
Just use silicone spray, it’s common for the lower arm bushings to make old spring bed noises... nothing wrong with them, just need some silicone spray on them and it will go away, common issue with the Corolla

i have 2015 Corolla LE, issues i've had so far:
Transmission replaced at 114k miles
Front controller arms creak on bumps(easy fix)
Everything else is pretty good.
I have a toyota corolla S 2014 can u tell me what transmission or fluid oil need it please.
Owners manual maintenance schedule does not have a CVT fluid replacement as an interval. Dealers do not replace the fluid.

Lifetime warranty huh
Mine is ten yrs older,, not even 200k...newer models are super expensive to repair
You got ripped off on the warranty. I have 130k miles on mine. Never have had any problems. And I drive my corolla very hard.

It has wireless apple carplay and wireless android auto for only $400! The changing process was super simple incase anyone else is looking for this
Same here with the radio screen. Did you have it fixed? I hear it’s expensive.
@@jrob07105 best fix is just use an AUX cord. (from a former toyota tec)

I have a 2017 LE. Do the transmissions have to be replaced in these cars eventually? Is it a common problem?

A/C can have a slight effect on idle speeds as well
Look up the idle relearn process works everytime
