- ►Did you just buy your first car, or are you looking to finally understand the parts that make up the machines that we spend, on average, four years of our life inside of?
In our series of beginner's guides to the basics of cars, we're going to help you better understand what you need to know to make vehicle ownership easier. Whether you're trying to explain an issue to your mechanic, looking to tackle a project yourself, or even if you simply want to be able to talk cars with your friends, understanding the parts of your car and where to find them is invaluable.
In this video, we cover the major parts that you will find under the hood of your car. We have four cars in the shop to demonstrate the differences in the engine bay between naturally aspirated, turbocharged, supercharged, and twin-charged engines. So no matter the vehicle you own, this video applies to you.

Nice basic introduction. Looking forward to more of this. Great job!
lol That "pesky" windshield washer fluid light came on a week ago. in my Lexus GX. Great video, Mike. Thank You for not breaking down each vehicle, into separate videos. As it's perfect for us whom enjoy and/or learn, from comparing visuals next to each other.
thanks for the helpful info my man u da best
Anything for you!!
When is the twin engine golf video coming?
Um, W203/CL203/C209 nerd fan, here! I know these Merc's ain't that popular in the States, but, I'm only going to own this era of Benz. Any and all projects or videos y'all do on these I'm gonna be fully locked into those episodes. I'm keen to build up my M272 engine. Y'all's W204 track car is of particular interest to me. How reliable have you made it? Just askin'. 😃
I always wanted to make stickers for each part that wouldn’t melt off. If you guys make them
Let know!!❤

I'm not only a female but consider myself total dummy; have joined a women's DIY facebook group and even that has limits. Reality caught me after I found myself having been fired from Arnott exactly after 2 weeks of working there.
I was wondering if UA-cam and referring to auto manual only (I own a 2015 Nissan Leaf with a busted back while I've also been struggling to right body shops just to avoid the junkyards) was enough or there could be better venues for people like me. Trying to juggle what these auto ppl say from all kinds of different sources I'd say is just a bit short of schizophrenic imo.
....I don't exactly own the Nissan, it's practically under my stepdad's name; but anyhow you get the idea.
Girl what,, they fired you? Why did they hire you in the first place if they weren't going to help you learn? I agree it is schizophrenic
@@dnimzr Thank you.
