Hi Nick. How long is your baton on this movie? And if it is ok how tall and heavy you are (it's help me to chose proper lendth and weight of baton for me) Thanks
I dont care what anyone says, you get hit in the face or neck with one of those baton strikes hes throwing , its lights out. Batons are great I carry one as my regular carry defense tool
...and then the guy you hit with a prohibited weapon calls a lawyer. I wouldn't ever even consider a strike to face or the neck. If for some insane reason you pulled an asp out the police will make it a high priority.

Finally someone who actually makes sense, many self defense channels will tell you that a Baton is not a good choice of self defense weapon and then they don't actually say how so.. I carry a knife and a Baton for my everyday defense. living in South Africa with crackheads on every street one can get robbed anytime if they so wish. A baton stands way better chance VS a knife wielding person
Yesssss!!! That is the same reason I'm here😂. And I know they always advise to rather use pepper spray, but I've seen someone get sprayed, and it meant nothing. A baton feels like the best option here is SA.
I think that an expandable baton is actually much more effective against a knife than just pulling out a knife yourself, because with a baton you have the lenght advantage. If two people pull out a knife, it will more likely just end up in a bloodbath for both.
@@cathyluv6079 I wouldn't go into a fight with someone carrying a baton, one strike can break a bone, they created these with intention, self defence channels sell us what they want to sell, against 3 nyaope boys, one Baton is an equalizer if you know how to move

Exactly. I've done this mistake in the past and I will never do it again. I got in a fight with someone, had the advantage and didn't want to hurt him in the head. The result was when I started to release him, he didn't hesitate and hit me in the face. Could have been easily avoided if I was not that kind and had just neutralized him right away.
If the attacker has a knife or anything similar its safeties off, everything counts when you are met with the same danger of death, basically making it equal force
Depending on the baton and a few modifications to your sleeve you can carry one in the sleeve of a jacket and deploy it very, very fast and surprisingly. If you have space and the attacker has a knife "jump/glide" back while he advances and target the knifehand. Most knife attacks come in a stabbing/stitching machine motion. The icepickgrip was very common in the middle ages and is interestingly usually the "natural" way women stab.
Thank you! I use public transportation and I've seen a lot of crazy things on the Internet of people being attacked for no reason on buses and trains. Not taking any chances, thank you for this video!
What do you think about holding a pepper spray or a strobing flashlight in your left hand, in that scenario? Is it a good idea? I mean, spray&strike or blind&strike should be quite effective 🤔
In a survival fight you won’t always have the availability or capability of striking the intended target areas so attack with multiple blows to the vital areas. Remember real targets don’t stand still and allow you to hit strike them
Hey, these techniques remind me of sabre. It makes sense as these are both in essence one handed weapons that are not fit for thrusting. And with the off hand mimmicking a shield the way you would fight with a sabre and buckler
It’s just the better video about the expendable baton, far away from the academic demonstrations that we can see on UA-cam. It’s the most realistic and effective way to use a telescopic baton.🙏🏻
I read online every state allows you to own one except for California is the only one that does not allow you to own or carry one I believe New York and Washington DC allow you to own one in your home or car but not carry it
Good video. I am certified to use a baton as a "non lethal intermediate weapon" as a law enforcement officer. Non lethal strikes are just like what Nick said. We taught the lower body strikes but not the arm strikes because the arm/forearm strikes have a greater risk of breaking the arm and causing serious damage and also missing your target and hitting something in the head or neck area. However like Nick said, you have to think of the baton as a range tool to use in a serious situation. I dont like the idea of a baton as a non lethal weapon. A taser or OC will not kill someone but a baton can easily cause serious damage or death. I would have never used a baton as a non lethal even though I am trained on it. I would have used it like Nick shows here as a deadly weapon to fight against a deadly weapon or potentially deadly weapon and use the range as the advantage. I will save the non lethal for taser and OC. I dont recommend the baton as a non lethal. If you end up using it improperly or you are not actually trained and certified on using it, you can easily get an assault with a deadly weapon charge and be liable for damages or death you cause if the situation didnt warrant using a weapon to defend yourself.
Your opinion also has some problems. First of all as an electrical I can assure you that Taser is not suitable to being called as non lethal. It can trigger a hearth attack and there is also the risk of uncontrollable fall and hence impact on the head. Some 3000+ dies each year as a result of tasing. On the other hand Batons like this have relative small weight on the impact size and you can control the power of your strikes (Hitting soft muscle targets with exeption of genitals probably would not have more damage than kicks or punches, even on the side of the neck, But of course it requires training and mind behing the weapon. . Not perfect since as you said injuries at high risk but anything has risks even chokeholds do.
In my opinion doing crime is your own risk. If you do no crime, you usually have no problem with security forces of gouvernement or private security companies.
Striking the knee could permanently cripple the attacker. It might be justified against knife attack or multiple muggers but know where the green areas are---and that the knee isn't one of them.
Just google telescope baton. Amazon sells them and other companies. But I will say don’t go cheap they will break in a real life situation. I’ve seen security break these over guys arms and then the attacker still proceeded.
The sole purpose of a stick or a baton is to manage distance..especially aganst an edged weapon...so it makes absolutely no sense to expose your free hand to attacker who has a knife...as soon as an attacker reveals a bladed weapon, you need to attack the hand to disarm them..force them to be on defense..attack the attacker

The amount of force you use must parallel the amount of danger you're in, good words to live by.
