That was one of the most beautiful collages I ever saw! But than you cover it with the fish........ I know we all have different taste, but I really loved the collage without fishes. Thanks very much for all your videos, really enjoying them (Best regards from the Netherlands)
🥰 [Google Traduction]
This is actually a terrific idea. It would be relaxing, no rules, get absorbed and FOCUSed on the “doing” and not the end product. In the end, you have a most unbelievable product fit to hang on a wall or use as a master board for 12 million future projects. Thanks for sharing!!
Barbara, thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment about this one. It was fun getting lost in the doing! I'm not going to put it up on the wall, but I do have one of those cookbook holders in my kitchen; maybe I'll put it there for a while 🥰
Hi Sherrill - I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you open the description in the video and scroll all the way to the bottom, all the music is referenced there. 🥰
Whew! That really was a marathon and what a great way to wrap up the year!! I've been making and teaching art my whole life. I am always looking to learn something new which is why I like your channel so much! Thank you for teaching us with so much generosity, and I look forward to what is yet to come! Happy New Year Jackie!🥰🍾🎉
This was excellent, Jackie! This video highlights just how hard it is for me to cover up layers that I love. There were so many times while I was watching where I was thinking...no, don't do that! And then it looked great! Good to watch this as a helpful reminder to push through when I want to say stop. Thank you for your channel and your contribution to all of us who are learning a lot from you. Happy New Year!
Thank you, Mixie! I think I will add this type of non-talking video every once in a while - I feel like it serves a different, more relaxing need. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🥰
So relaxing watching you working with your painted papers. I had earlier been working on painting rice papers and really didn't like how they turn out and you have inspired me to keep working on them. Thanks for shari g your knowledge and talent with us. Happy creative 2024 ❤
I see this as a great way to use up scraps that will probably never be used in a finished painting. I’m in the mood for some similar studio meditation, so thanks.
This has definitely given me inspiration for 2024. The combination of the 2023 and the small pieces altogether to make a collage highlighting your year in art. How wonderful! Wishing you an amazing New Year. 💖 May the universe bring you all that you need.
I love that type of thinking, Jill - what can I make so that I use up enough papers to make more 😍 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. 🥰
I wish I could hear your self talk as you create this piece. Do you say….I need a dark here or something bright….or is it as random as it appears? I’m intrigued.
The patterns of the fish bodies look just marvelous! What a wonderful technique bringing together intention and "happy accidents". Hours of happy creating guaranteed! Thanks a bunch, Jackie. Cool project to end 2023 ... I just prefer hearing your voice ... and if I can hear Archie`s urgent request barking now and then, that's a bonus ☺☺! Aloha from Berlin ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Hello Queen - Archie was not impressed with this one 😂 He's usually on my lap while I record the voiceover, so he felt cheated this time 😂😂😂 Thank you so much for always being so supportive 🥰
Hello Christine - thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. At this time, I do not have a website but hope to have one up and running in 2024. I am not currently selling any art - I put that on pause a few years ago and if I feel like selling in the future, I will, but for now, I am very happy just creating for me. 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudio I understand. It would be great, as a learner, for me to see what you do with all these beautiful papers you make. I would love to see the a whole video of your finished art. I can’t quite get a grasp on how you use them.
Dear Jackie, I find your art very inspiring and I just love your tutorials! One question: What are you using to glue the pieces to the paper? Greetz from Austria!
Hey, your scraps look like mine. LOL I like the technique and will try it on a smaller scale, one page maybe not two. You are brave to do two. I'll branch out and try different masking shapes as well.
I love to see the process and I love to watch you - found you yesterday and it’s absolutely my style… instead of painting myself I lying in bed 🛌 and watching 😅but I need inspiration as I am in the beginning. Because of you I ordered many things yesterday 😅… My question: gel palette looks super handy for mixing colors snd doing these marks paints…? shall I buy one - for what are you using in general? and which glue do you use that you can also put it over the pieces?? Thanks for sharing ❤ greetings from Germany… that’s why I couldn’t order via amazon with your links 🤷🏼♀️
Thank you very much, Beki! I'm fine with you staying in bed watching my videos for now ☺️, but the second those supplies arrive I hope you jump out of bed and start painting 😍 The glue I use is matte medium - it adheres the papers really well, and then seals the top at the same time. I use the gel plate for everything - print making, mark making, and as a palette for mixing colors. I have a free video guide on the gel plate and how to use it that you can find at the following link painted-paper-studio.ck.page/gel-print-guide
@@PaintedPaperStudio haha 😂 thank you 🙏🏻 for the infos… today I got my gel palette from netherlands… it seems not common in Germany…??? anyway hope to find time at the weekend to experiment… Sometimes I don’t know where to start… or I miss this or that special extra… 🙄 I spent already alot of money but still sthg missing… thin paper and the matte medium… I didn’t know what it is while I saw it on the internet… but anyway I can start 🛫🩷🥰🤗
@@PaintedPaperStudio Hi Jackie, thank you for your time answering my comment and question. 🩷🧡 My stuff arrived, I cleaned the gelli plate as you recommended except the oil as I don’t have this at home… So I couldn’t wait to try it out but I am not that happy as I expected as the clolors I apply start removing all the time a bit and I am wondering why??? 🤔😕 I bought Golden fluid, extra fluid and heavy… Mostly I use the fluid acrylic but saw this as well in different videos. I'm so excited for you @@beki1377 ! Yes, the paints will pull up or "fish eye" for the first few times you use the plate. This happens because of the oils inside the plate. It will calm down faster the more you use the plate. It's an exercise in trust 😍
@@PaintedPaperStudio ooohh thank you for your positive answer 🥰🩷🙏🏻 That gives me hope… It’s so much fun and the paper looks amazing in my view… I just need to find now what to do with it. Maybe a mixed Media with that prints 🤷🏼♀️🥰🩷💜
Hi Kelly! I'm so happy you enjoyed the video. 🥰 The patina solution is from Mayco, and it comes in a kit that includes the metal paint, and the rust patina solution. It is listed under the supplies section of the description. Be careful though...the patina kit can become addicting and before you know it, you'll want to rust everything 😂😂😂
I do love your vids and learn a lot. But I don't understand how you could have possibly covered up all those colorful scraps with various layers of paints and such, just to achieve the nice colorful textures on the transparent fish! Takes courage! at least in my opinion. But that's YOUR aesthetic! thanks for sharing your process with us.
LOL - I don't know about courage, but what I realized during this session is that I still have a ton of scraps, and could probably fill that entire cookbook with them 😍. Maybe the next one I'll stop sooner. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Happy New Year 🥳
I absolutely agree 😅I would have stopped before the fishes 🐟 😅 And why so much work where you at the end almost see nothing from this cool collage 😢… Funny and interesting to see that I would stop often much sooner… but your work is fabulous and I love all of them ❤❤❤
I never really know for sure, but when it feels "done" I stop and step away for a few hours, or overnight. When I look at it again I'll add to it if I feel like it needs it, but usually I leave it alone. It's sort of a test of trusting your intuition. 🥰
