Thanks again Tarun for your considerable efforts on our behalf in reviewing a substantial amount of equipment in 2024. Always good to here the mention of the abilities of transmission line speakers - something close to my heart . My audiophile journey in 2024 was to discover a way to play the handful of SACDs I have . I will not detail their obvious strengths but repeat what one long established reviewer said of SACDs "that the format remains the best implementation of digital playback outside of a studio ." Thanks for the consistently high quality videos Tarun. Out of these, the Quad’s seem to have the best sound, build and price balance. I heard some compact EJ Jordan Greenwhich speakers with Da Ming monoblock amps recently that were astonishing. Pricey but I reckon they’d do well in your over £5k band. Hope to see more excellent content in 2025🎶🎵😎
I've asked Tarun several times for a review of open baffles. To my ear, my DIY Decware Zen Master full range ZF15M's blow away any closed box speaker I've heard including my Quad Revela 1's and the Dali Menuet SE's I used to own before I sold them. What's more, if one builds one's own (dead easy -- no soldering required), they cost less than either. I can but hope that one day he'll oblige us.
Thanks for a great year of content Tarun - unbiased, evidence based, un-emotive and very clear language. I hang out for all your posts as they help me stay across the market. Hi Tarun, an other nice group review under the belt. I am a bit intrigued by the Wharfedale speakers you mentioned. They strictly where not part of this shoot out as I understand. The way you describe them, sounds like they are (obviously, like all speakers) build to a price, but that the cross over network is holding them back. So I have the feeling that these could really shine after the "Danny" treatment. Or from a one to one component value wise exchange with Mundorf parts. In other words, these could be real sleepers.
Tarun, we the always interested, regardless of if we ever can or will. Because curiosity drives us and idea holds some weight. Someone said, when you enjoy or love what you do it isn't work at all. Well, as always curious and the ability to indulge in the joy of one's work is worth my time when available. So, Thank You for being you and taking the curious with you.
Tekton Design speakers sold direct from the manufacturer in the US, with no distributor margin nor dealer margin. Wide choice of speakers to suit all tastes and budgets. Fantastic value for money IMHO.
Thanks for all your great reviews this past year. How about a review of a Rosso Fiorentino speaker, in particular the Elba 2. Would love to get your take on that one having read good things about it. Happy Holidays!
Excellent summary to an excellent year of loudspeaker reviews Tarun. My tip for next year would be more Dynaudio reviews. e.g. Contour 20i (or variants) as that is a direct competitor to your upper segment here. And Dynaudio for many people has been the benchmark or very close to the benchmark of standmount loudspeaker design for many years. There is a German language hifi demo channel in which various Dynaudio speakers routinely dispense with the price competition: Dali, B&W, Monitor Audio, Q Acoustics, Canton, etc. So it is hard for me to believe any standmount is the "best": in its class unless it has defeated the price competitive Dynaudio model.
@@MadViking82 I think one of the keys to Dynaudio winning so many direct comparison tests has to come down to their magnesium-silicate drivers which they have claimed for decades possess the optimum engineering balance between ligthness, rigidity and damping. For some time Wilson used Dynaudio drivers. I personally have yet to hear a better driver which can provide detail, clarity and bass dynamics so well all at once.
Thank you sir. Enjoy the festive period. For your information the Alta audio speakers are not sold in France. In fact the only dealer selling this brand in the EU is located in Poland according to A A's dealership listing on their webpage... Atb for 2025.

In some of your reviews I notice room reverb, especially when you get the microphone settings a bit low. The room appears to have quite a high ceiling and the house might be Victorian or Edwardian. Lower ceilings were a feature post-WW2 brick building in England and Wales when central heating was starting to render coal open fireplaces obsolete. The Clean Air Act was passed in 1956. I could be totally wrong but another clue is how often you mention speakers not sounding good at home having better performance in other rooms. Acoustic treatment is often lampooned as being a fad of self-styled "audiophiles" but the total cubic capacity of a given room has to be considered in relation to floor area then the maths reveal how much air space is sometimes "dead" at sitting level with loudspeakers pointing at average sized human beings. Given that sound is air in motion and its speed is not all that fast [Doppler and Helmholtz] it is important to consider what air is doing what in a listening room. Fancy and expensive materials which might look like something from an anechoic chamber should not be necessary, nor lowering a whole ceiling and fabric hangings can both mitigate oddities and look attractive. Every room is its own case and because rooms in houses serve many purposes, all needs should be taken into account.
You mentioned the pricing differences when items cross the pond. You mentioned the Quad Revela's were £1,800. That would translate to roughly $2,250 as of today. The MSRP in the US is $3,250, though they are currently on sale for $2,995.
I love how you often review less than universally known speakers. The only drawback? Really hard to demo, let alone buy many of these speakers in many parts of the United States. Oh well. A very nice rundown nevertheless.
I like to sometimes draw attention to the underdogs. If the products are worthy of merit, hopefully my reviews will be a small step to those brands gaining wider recognition and distribution 😊
@abritishaudiophile7314 that is one thing that makes your channel unique! Who needs another cookie cutter review of a cookie cutter product? I love the craftsmanship you see in many of the products you review. Looking forward to more in 2025!
Oh yeah, some beauties there. Those American floor standards/ towers. $3,000 you've got to love a sale! You know, I am one of those guys who likes the looks. Hi Tarun, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your exceptional videos over the years. I particularly appreciate your insightful reviews and informative content that enhance my listening experience. Although I have resided outside the United Kingdom for several years, I fondly recall the vibrant high-fidelity audio scene in Cambridge. I am currently considering purchasing the Quad Revele Speakers to complement my Atoll SDA300 amplifier.Given that I primarily use the KEF LS50 (non-meta) speakers, I would value your opinion on whether the Quad Revela 1 would be a suitable addition to my setup. Your insights would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, John
@@Johnd3s thank you kindly. Much appreciated. The Revela 1s should work well with the SDA300. Of course, there is only one at to truly find out. Neat speakers are a great match for Atoll amps and often demoed together by the distributor in the U.K. 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thank you for your kind feedback. I never thought about Neat Speakers. Now I need to do some research to add them to the mix. Over in Germany (my new location), I don’t have any local Quad dealers, so this might also be a limiting factor. Or I could, when I visit family and friends back in the UK, purchase them directly from a UK dealer. Kind Regards, and Happy Christmas.
Have enjoyed your reviews. Definitely one of the best out there. Based on these I've finally taken the plunge and gone for the acoustic energy AE1 active speakers which I think were your speaker of the year in 2022. I currently have Adam audio studio monitors which are resolving and clear but a bit bright/fatiguing and maybe not quite musical enough and tried q acoustics M20 (another one of your award winners) which are tuneful and fairly detailed but a bit too warm sounding, slightly boxy sound and ultimately lacking the clarity of the Adams. I always feel like I'm missing something despite making the toes tap. At 3x the price AE1 active should be a good upgrade. Your review was incredibly positive. DAC is Cambridge audio 200m. Tidal hi-fi. What would you say these AE1 active speakers are equivalent to in terms of separate amps with speakers?
@@paultasker7788 they based on the AE300s but sound a lot cleaner, thanks to the active crossover. It takes performance to the level of the AE1000 fed by something like a Cambridge Audio CXA61 amplifier 😊
@abritishaudiophile7314 should be a good upgrade then. I've gone for the triple to cost to gain a noticeable improvement metric. I've upgraded the front end twice which both times improved clarity and smoothness but lost musicality as there is a lot of detail but it's all messed up together (could be separated better and a wider soundstage would be nice). Looking forward to trying them soon.
Long time since i checked in here. Love the channel. I noticed you reviewed a pair of Fyne Audio Classic series (can´t remember the model)...VIII? X? Anyway, i just want you to know, that i´m getting a pair of Fyne Classic VII, and can´t wait to hook em up with my Lavardin amps. Btw, i had a pair of Dali 40 (bigger model up their range at the time), in the 90´s. Try look em` up. They were beautiful looking and very potent and big sounding "high-end". I loved them, too death. Dali have been making great speakers for decades. Proud to represent my country, in that manner. Merry Christmas. Love from Denmark.
Great review overview, Tarun. I may have to get over my Darth Vader phobia and try to rustle up some used Alyssas. For the money saved, I'd even go for the dreaded gloss black. I recently had a pair of Cabasse Murano speakers to audition. They were exceptional in my opinion. I passed on ownership because distribution in the US is spotty and my email to Cabasse in France went unanswered. I am concerned about owning an orphan pair of speakers and indifferent customer service. Thanks again and I look forward to your adventures in 2025. My Visa card is sequestered in an undisclosed location with a time lock.
Thanks to his recommendation I got a pair of those Alta Audio Alyssa. I am lucky to live in Bridgeport Connecticut where distribution center is located. What else say? Nothing Almost perfect speaker because the perfect speaker does not exist. Thank Tarun. Great job my friend.
If available to you, your opinion and review of the following would be greatly appreciated. Speakers: Acora, Audience, Joseph Audio, Marten and Qln. Amps: McGary Audio and Audio by Van Alstine. Pre-amps: SPL, Backert Labs and maybe a TEAC. Thanks for your work and have a Happy New Year.

@@Johnd3s merry Christmas to you too 🥳

What about sibelius speakers?
@5:15 the quoted $799 price is per speaker correct? Monitor Audio 100
love your addictive videos very usful for Audiophile news , have your heard the Canor CD 2.10 Tube CD player / DAC , the product of my year.
@@majorclanger7475 thank you. I hope to review some Canor products in 2025 😊👍
Great review overview, Tarun.
@@elbebe1000 thank you. The Alyssas are a bit special. Glad you are enjoying them 😊👍
@elbebe1000 were you able to get a deal on them? I'm near you and these look appealing

Hi Tarun !! As usual, your videos are the best, sincerly !!! The only thing that is missing is the bitchin' and moanin' that so many channels have. I am serious. So many channels thrive because people like to comment and try to destroy the author for some fault they find in him ( or her, but let's be honest, there is only a couple of them ). To a fault, your reviews are so great that people couldn't find anything derogatory to say about them !!! Damn !! The comments are so polite and positive, my blood sugar rise 2 points just reading them !!! I hope my stab at irony made you smile because you deserve it !!! Best wish for 2025 to you and your family and also 100k subcribers !!!
