Retrotone is nice. Big improvement over my warped platter. But it doesn’t fit snuggly onto the spindle. Which is sort of a problem. I think I’ll do it as part of a review of something else.
Hello Ken, Hmm, I haven't owned a Record Player since the mid 1980s when I was Importing all the various Players England produced , I don't personally know anyone that still does vinyl . However , I find you and your reporting valuable and well worth holding on to , Steve G. is another wonderful keep . I would still have Stereophile except the new JA2 kicked me off , John Atkinson is the finest and best Audio Mag. Editor evah! I even did the Subscriptions for HFN&RR when JA was Editor ( England's best Audio Mag.) I miss Tyll You lads are the greatest , thanks for being there ! Tony Kazz retired in Venice. Florida
The belt on the Feikert appears to be riding in the wrong spot on the motor pulleys. Kevin Deal's video shows it central on the bowed area as with most pulleys of this shape. Nice look at these beautiful turntables.
@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 Those are some great sounding speakers! I have yet to hear the Voxativ, but I have always liked the Volti Razz. Also interesting to see that you moved "up" to the Super Nines from the O/96 -- especially in a smaller room. Anyway, very envious of all your gear. Nice setups!
You have to be gentle with it, but yes, it is easy to set up. Like Mike says, the mounting assembly is sort of delicate and flexible, but the tone arm with the ceramic headshell sounds incredible.
I agree with you on the Cambridge and feel of the cue lever. I have a Technics SL-1500C and I hate, hate, hate the cue lever. It looks and feels like a ten cent cheap toy. Technics really missed the bus on that part of the design.
@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 Terrible collection of turntables, Ken! 😜 What cartridge and preamp did you pair with the Mofi MasterDeck for your listening sessions? Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
They are all very nice indeed but I love the old Thorens and the Korf arm development is fascinating.
If i have to choose one, your old Thorens will be the one. Very interesting video Ken, as always
Thanks for the video, Ken. It makes a change to see some proper interesting designs instead of the usual budget selections of “best” turntables.
I enjoyed this up close turntable video, Ken. Looking forward to your printed reviews.
Great audioporn Ken. Have a great holiday and 2025
Your TD-124 now looks better than ever.. Are you going to review the Retrotone replacement top platter?

J. SIKORA absolutly fantastic tables ...
Love the Thorens!
t
The Thorens is my favorite. Ken what is the square footage of your apt? Just curious

Is there a video on (some of) the rest of your system?
You sold me with “boogie factor” 😂
Keep it up, nice reviews
Nice turntables! But was wondering what speakers you are using in such a small apartment?
Voxativ Ampeggio, Volti Razz, Devore Super Nines

Own a Lenco l75 and would never ever go back to a belt again, maybe a direct drive. But man the sense of propulsion on old idler tables is insane.
Nice, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Ken.
Been eyeballing that Korf tonearm and read M. Trei’ review but your thoughts? Easy to set up? Adjust? I own a couple of the headshells…..

Many do
Does that Cambridge Alva use it's own special headshell or can you use the regular Technics type to experiment with different carts?
Yes, any universal SME type headshell
Just missing a 65lb Nottingham Analogue turntable!
I would love that
On the Dr. Feickert Volare 25th Limited Edition turntable, the flat belt should run in the MIDDLE of the pulley and not on top!
I attempted to do that, as that seemed the correct alignment. But the belt kept snapping to the top of the pulley!
@@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 If the belt is not too wide, it should run in the middle area. I have never experienced such a problem.
Having all these turntables must be hard. My heart breaks for you
Ha!
Serious case of Turntable brain rot!
🙄😒1500 buck,s an no Hub for the armbase...😕👎buuuuuuuhhh
