Your Hegel description is great! I have watched a lot of amplifier reviews and Hegel was somewhat off my radar for first choice. Multiple times, though, I would notice this or that product get a reality check from you when compared to the Hegel. Your comparisons of products within and across different price points are really helpful in giving perspective. I recently had an opportunity to get an H190 and did. I absolutely love it! Enough really good without any glaring bad traits really can add up to an outstanding amp. Tarun, thanks for all you do! I'll savor this after the workweek. FYI got a pair of the Schiit Tyr amps. Kind of flipping out and pinching myself at the improvement over my old hybrid Rogue. I've heard Schiit don't sample much and a costly ship to the UK so not sure if you've heard them. Bass, inst. separation, musicality are astounding IMO. @@2madamimadam290 thank you my friend. I haven’t heard Tyr amps. They aren’t so easy to get hold of over here. Great that your system is providing so much pleasure to you and your wife 😊👍
@SirFigNewton Sir, Fig, id need some comparisons to understand that as a term but I can say instruments and vocals, breath etc all have better realism in my impression. When they break out of the background I'm taken by them as much more real than my prior amps. It's a bit haunting. I just get stopped and caught listening a lot more. Seriously musical IMO. Much deeper front to back in the soundstage. Not sure if it's the mono-amp thing but defined R/L is pronounced and center or off center placement seems more well defined so in totality things seem to take their place more side to side and front to back so the speakers disappear a lot more. Live recordings have more feeling of open air spaciousness. The bass seems effortless where you can follow all low notes over a background low rumble and it does not affect the voices or instruments as they lead off during bass presence. Kick drums have a kick like you feel it and tone like you think it ought to sound. Recordings feel new but not because of some weird cupped hand tonality but because of the individual instrument clarity. Hope I'm not over hyping it. Limited experience with old A/B NAD, Parasound HCA-2205a (5ch A/B surround) Rogue Medusa Tube/Hypex class D modules. Really missed gutteral bass moving to the Rogue but didn't think the musicality would be so toe tapping on the Tyr. It's been a week but I keep revisiting thinking it was all new shiny thing hype but then I go, Nope! These kick butt. Finally a hi-fi system like I hear at stores. I always touted source and speakers as most important but had no idea how much this pulls it together.
ABA is the XLR cable of UA-camrs, balanced and noise-cancelling. always informative and only uses jargon where there are no other words. clearly the best reviewer of 2024 and a fine way to enjoy a cuppa
@@tunejunky thank you kindly. It is possible to have unbalanced XLR connections. However, XLR generally tends to be balanced to take advantage of noise reduction by a process called common mode rejection 😊👍
in 2024 I put together a desktop HiFi. I chose the ATC SCM7 speakers which are recommended to be used with a minimum of 70 watts. I bought the Rega IO to partner them and feel that 30 watts is plenty for near field use. Good shout on the Rega, thanks for that Tarun.
Thank you Tarun! Is the Musical Fidelity A1 a good alternative for the Willsenton r300 plus? I was ready to pull the trigger with the r300 for a warm holographic sound but looks like those issues are a deal breaker. Happy holidays!
Also auditioned the Hegel H400 against similar - Naim Unity Nova, Naim XS3 with Naim streamer - so £5k worth, and think the Hegel sits well above. But at £5,900 I'm thinking of picking up a H390 at around £3k, a few good ex-dem offers on at various places at the moment and prices negotiable with full warranty. I don't see it being worth twice the price of the H390 although not listened to it yet, but if it's 95% of the H400 it's a bargain. There's also a H590 at £5k on ebay at the moment, it's replacement is best part of double that. Be interested to see you review some more Cyrus kit in 2025, one brand that's always kept me coming back to their products.
New Cyrus are priced at a much higher price point than their I assume outgoing XR range - which I have heard at a hi Fi Show - very impressive with the outboard power supply with good speakers. I also listened to the Hegal H120 which I really enjoyed the musicality with vinyl 🎶 It's very subjective so I'd always advocate always demo before committing even to a "Best buy" 🎶
You, sir are by far the best of the YT reviewers. Because your reviews always include comparisons and advice on partnering equipment. Please keep the videos coming. On a different topic, I heard a rumor that Gustard is named for Col. Gustard. Him of the lead pipe and library.
Wow as usual I wait every year for a future purchase desire. Outstanding work front this gentleman, you have all our confidence when recommendations and audio review is presented. Happy Holidays.

Can't wait for next year and the next video, Have a great Xmas and New Year, I think you know the Amps I would like your opinion on but one more request, Not an amp but the Volumio Rivo+ and its new power supply, the Lineo5. Thanks Tarun.
Nicely done Tarun on your ladder presentation, amp to amp that is. Here's the thing. Many of the patents on high end amplifiers eg Burmester, Dartzeel, Krell, have expired and Chinese audio makers have replicated them in products costing as little as the set of Fosi gear you showed. I personally find their products too irresistible not to try and based on reviews none of them disappoint. Just saying.
I’d like to see a comparison between the Hegel and the Rotel Michi. I run the Michi X3 S1, using an external DAC in my CDP. Solid, deep and engaging I wouldn’t take a Hegel over the Michi. Best wishes for the holiday season Tarun 🎄
Thanks for your year end amp review. To answer your question, I would be interested in you reviewing the Arendal 1528 bookshelf or monitor speakers in 2025. Thank you and Happy Christmas!
The Sugden amp really is a dream amp, and would definitely end the upgrade bug that hits all of us "audiophiles". Have an older rega brio in second system, and its a gem with nice phono stage too. The UK is spoilt for great amps, nice one Tarun.
A rival hifi channel I have been following over a three period has gone from group testing speakers for around a grand to naming its amplifier of the year costing 25K! This channel remains relevant and relatable.
Tarun - Merry Christmas to you and your Family. For 2025, I hope you review the CREEK 4040A (it seems like it could be great listening value for the money?!?)
My Topping PA3 broke within the warranty period. My second Topping PA3 broke outside the warranty period. My Fosi Audio za3 I send two days ago to the store, because the right speaker-out didn't work anymore. Great sounding amplifiers, until they break.
@@abritishaudiophile7314 My Fosi went in surge protection mode. So it wasn't faulty. Now I placed a grounded mouse mat on my desk. I build up too much static electricity.
Thanks Terrance, Skunkie designed said some good things about the muzishare 7. I was wondering if you have ever heard it? I also just got a fosi zd3 DAC and some upgraded op amps and I ordered a linear power supply. It's not my end game DAC but hopefully with some upgrades I will get some good performance to keep me happy for a little while 😅.
A great review with the benefit of spezial advantages the sets have or not. The Question is often, do i change my whole setup to gain a new experience ? A mate of mine has a rega mira amp with B&W dm603s3 and the amount of detail dug out of the recordings with the rega and B&W combination is mind boggling when I heard it
I think source quality is more important , rubbish in rubbish out theory, as long as you have a decent amplifier the input is much more important, for reference (important when making comments) technics sl 1200g, rega aria, Ortofon black, spendor a4(I wish I’d spent the extra and got the a7) and an old rega elicit, no digital output, love your channel btw

I've heard Schiit don't sample much and a costly ship to the UK so not sure if you've heard them. Bass, inst. separation, musicality are astounding IMO. You know it's something when the wife is astounded as well and offers to help pay!? Happy Holidays!
how is the midrange? is it warm, liquid?
Thanks for 2024 ABA! You’ve been my Saturday mornings all year! Looking forward to 2025!
@@iborrada thank you . Much appreciated 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 understood and intended :-)
in 2024 I put together a desktop HiFi.

@@ranelime there are similarities to the sound 😊
A bit surprised not to see the Musical Fidelity A1 mentioned.
I believe it was reviewed last year?
@@henrym78 it was reviewed last year 😊
Also auditioned the Hegel H400 against similar - Naim Unity Nova, Naim XS3 with Naim streamer - so £5k worth, and think the Hegel sits well above.
@@Pulpdiction1999 thank you for sharing 😊
New Cyrus are priced at a much higher price point than their I assume outgoing XR range - which I have heard at a hi Fi Show - very impressive with the outboard power supply with good speakers.
I also listened to the Hegal H120 which I really enjoyed the musicality with vinyl 🎶
It's very subjective so I'd always advocate always demo before committing even to a "Best buy" 🎶
You, sir are by far the best of the YT reviewers. Because your reviews always include comparisons and advice on partnering equipment. Please keep the videos coming.

Good morning from sunny Manchester Tarun, where it isn’t actually raining! Top job in 2024. Hi Tarun. I'm following your reviews for years and appreciate it very much.
It would be super interesting for me and hope for more people to review Gato Amp 150. I own Dynaudio Heritage Special and looking for good match for them.
Also thinking what would be your opinion on these speakers in comparison with your favorite speakers like Alta Audio Alyssa.
