      @jamesbigham9036 @nathanboerner2256 How do you guys figure it's saved? Now that he's made YT content with it, it'll sit there & rot in his back field. Is that saved? Cuz it's not back on the road as a daily driver, is it?

      Over the years, I too have commented the same thing a number of times after any given "Will It Run?" video where some guy will claim "...we got it to run, drove it from its grave in the field and we saved it!" yet anywhere from a few months to a few years later you discover that car or truck is sitting out back in THEIR field rotting away into the dirt. My thought at that point is, "Oh yeah... you really saved it all right!!!" while rolling my eyes around and around. All they actually did was move the car or truck from one field in the dirt to another field in the dirt. That isn't "saving" anything. While I commend folks for getting old engines or cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and even airplanes to run again... those things should not just be left to rot all over again beginning right after the video footage is shot. DO SOMETHING WITH THEM or sell them to someone who will. If need be, give them to someone who will lend them love and use them! Oh... so you're keeping them as a future project, huh? Then for the love of Dave preserve them so they don't continue to deteriorate even further than they already have! That pretty much precludes leaving them laying around in a field in the open, fully exposed to the elements. It'll be a miracle if they don't get infested with mice which is a disaster waiting to happen. What to do? Get them under a roof and out of the elements and do what it takes to protect them from vermin. You've got to be realistic about what you're capable of based on your abilities and income. If you've got so many "projects" that you're not going to get to them for more than 2 years, then figure you're not going to get them... ever. That's just the harsh cold reality of life. That is also being realistic. Seriously consider whether it's wise to continue keeping your "projects", especially if they are deteriorating in the weather. Ask yourself this one question, "Am I turning into that guy... the guy who's saving it because I'm going to 'fix it up some day' but I NEVER WILL?!?" Here's a tip - if you've had a long term project for years and those closest to you such as a wife/girlfriend, your parents or your best & most closest friends say yes... sell it off because you'll never get to it... then you need to get rid of your "project"! Why? Look at yourself in the mirror... you're already "that guy"!

      Your fill point for any water cooled engine needs to be the higher than anything else. If you have bleeders like on the efi Fox body’s they need to be cracked open to let all of the air out.

    I don’t know why but out of all the 1964-1/2 to 1973 classic era Mustangs the 1969-1970 are my favorite. I think it’s because they have smoother body lines. Find me a coupe like this and I’ll be a happy man!

    -- At approximately 1:00:15... it isn't a "goofy" Ford transmission. It's a lack of understanding by Dylan. If the gear shift selector position on the trans body is aligned correctly with the shift arm inside the car and the neutral safety switch is not an issue then the transmission should shift correctly through all three gears. However, as others have noted, you must also have the correct and functional vacuum modulator attached to the back of the transmission as well as connected to manifold vacuum on the engine. These transmissions were designed to shift into the main drive gear based on manifold vacuum - if the necessary vacuum isn't there then the trans is not going to work correctly! Note that I said the correct vacuum modulator. Why bring that up? Because not all modulators are the same - you've got to get the correct one for the car itself, the engine under the hood as well as the transmission type. Other potential problems include flexible soft lines being either hardened & cracking thus leaking vacuum or being so soft they collapse under vacuum thus not allowing proper shift points. Also, the metal hard line can either be squashed/crushed thus not allowing proper vacuum pull to the modulator or a line can be rusted out also allowing vacuum leakage which causes a no shift condition. Lastly, at the intake manifold, make sure there is vacuum at the port where the vacuum line connects - it doesn't happen very often but they can become clogged with rust which once again does not allow proper shifting at the transmission. In my experience, this mostly occurs in long dormant vehicles that are being resurrected so that factor would apply to this Mustang in particular. It's easy to check for vacuum by simply disconnecting the soft line from the modulator and putting your finger over the end of the line. You'll either feel suction or you won't. Peace & good vibes!

    The Mustang turned out to be a ripper! It still could used a few items. I think it deserves a part #3. Like rebuild the Holley, replace balancer, patch the floor with random tin, fuel supply from tank. I'm not a Ferd guy, but the Juice is worth the squeeze on this one it seems. Was a nice video folow up from the first.

  • @traviscurlutu7723
    @traviscurlutu7723 2 дні тому +8

    you failed to put a vacuum hose on the modulator on the trans. that little gold can on the back of the trans needs to be hooked up to manifold vacuum. it controls shift. also the kick down from the trans to the carb needs hooked up. looks like the hook up on the shift shaft is missing. hope this helps!

The vacuum modulator valves fail on C4 transmissions also giving you your shifting symptoms you have (also if you don’t have a vacuum line hooked up).

    She needs to be back to full road worthy. She's a good looking girl, and you need a Mustang and a Camaro to complete the Muscle Car collection.
