Nice! When I first started my career, I bought a new 2013 mustang GT and it was a nice feeling buying the car I really wanted. Later I sold it and bought my 2007 Ron Fellows autographed Z06 and it’s an absolute blast. It was my first true sports car and it just fits awesome. I've been a car guy before I even had a driver's license, since the the 80's. Listening to Jay talk about cars I still learn something, probably one of the coolest car guys in my opinion. Great episode!
When Jay inform's us that he is ending the video and getting up on the highway.... That translates to "I don't want video evidence of blowing out the carbon.".
"You'll notice this is about one and a half inches wider" -oh, absolutely! I had just finished my slide rule calculations; upscaling my phones images. Thanks Jay!
Jack LaLanne! Wow--haven't hear that name in a while. I do think that his/LaLanne's jumpsuits had short sleeves--so he could flex his impressive biceps.
he does look good for 70. jay took the long way here and it looks like he nailed it. he was collecting these things somewhere in the background long before many people were aware. the key now is to focus on his health and really enjoy these last chapters of life. he has the money to really do it.
Jay Leno. One of the all-time great comedians and television show hosts. One kind and humble gentleman. I would love to meet the man one day. I am so happy to see such a good man achieve, rightfully, and enjoy all of the success he has. He loves his cars and his channel here is a gift to us as he shares his knowledge and experiences with incredible cars that most of us will likely never even see in person, let alone drive or own. Thank you Jay and God Bless you Sir!
I absolutely love these videos. It's so much better to just listen to Jay just, talk. And you can just see how much this man legitimately loves and appreciates cars. Just absolutely love this style, keep it up Jay.
Nice video. Your comment about smog testing caught my ear. Like you, I live in California. I've always had older cars that have to have a sniffer in the exhaust pipe while spinning a drum. I sit there and sweat bullets during the testing. Then, one day I had to take my father's 2003 C5 Corvette (after he passed away) to be smogged. As usual, I was nervous. All they did was a visual on the engine, look for stored codes and any smoke out the exhaust. Inspection complete!! No sniffer, no drum. Smog tests on the C5 are a piece of cake. I'm guessing it was the same situation with your C6 Vette.
Mr. Leno I too am a car guy and I greatly appreciate you showing your passion for cars and to continue to do these videos. Thank you for the time and effort that goes into making these. I truly enjoy watching them. God Bless and stay safe!
Hey Jay, thanks for continuing to do the videos during the pandemic. They are much appreciated right now. I think I've watched 80 episodes at least. Our region is going through a tough time as a hot spot. I would love to see a video on how you coordinate oil changes, fresh gas, last time driven, etc. at the garage(s). It can't be simple! Thanks.
Damn. So much more respect for Leno these days. He’s as much an American icon as the corvette. So thankful to have these videos to watch. Love cars and jay leno.
Sunday morning and there's the best car enthusiast I know with old tires. I don't feel so bad about my 10 year old tires now. Torque wins races and hauls heavy loads.
@@Koll-Manee Yeah it's a car.... That's why. A peak at the powerhouse (especially in a special vehicle) it's an exciting thing to witness. Car guys know we're talking about and if you don't get the same feeling that's ok, just keep in mind that some of us do get that feeling and it means something to us.
Mine too. Because I know I'm going to actually see a engine. Even on this relatively new vehicle we still see intake manifolds and rocker covers, unlike modern cars where you lift the hood and see a big plastic cover.
Being that this is Jay Lenos corvette, its number 1, its pratt and Miller, and only 7 produced and it has only 10k miles, this car is definitely worth over 1 million dollars. Its story and ownership is unmatched to most cars today. Absolutely stunning 😍
Jay I love your passion and knowledge of all cars. I also like the fact that you preserve cars. You’re a regular car guy like so many of us and not snooty just because you have money. I appreciate ya.
You act like "one camera on a tripod. There's nobody here" is a bad thing. That's what we want, Jay. Just you and your car. We don't need high production quality. We have you and one of your cars. Perfect.
Jay, I'm glad you're still with us after driving on those tires. I picked up a V-8 swapped RX7 running on old/mismatched tires and it was just like this. I lit them up at part throttle at 80 mph (on the way home) and decided I would not drive it again until I had new tires. Was a very butt-clenching experience.

Outstanding video Jay... You did not commit to stating she was the first Corvette over 200 miles an hour, which is good.. But I just have one word..."SLEDGEHAMER" 250+ Great car, great video, great man !
Yeah, that’s one mean Vette. When I saw Pratt & Miller on the car I keep thinking of Pratt & Whitney the aircraft engine company which is not far off with the torque it develops. Thanks Jay good one.
Love the sound of this engine!! Yes one can only dream of the new c8 I keep looking at them on the build your own corvette I get to be in heaven for at least for a few minutes in my mind .
My engine recently threw a rod in my 2008 C6 Corvette while commuting home. It looked practically brand new when I bought it last year and thought I was taking care of it by driving sensible while commuting to work. Maybe the prior owner didn't take care of the car as well as I thought. But anyway, the cost to replace the engine, including labor is roughly $10,500. My fiance wants me to get rid of the car, due to the cost of the repair work. I'm hesitant of doing so because, like Jay Lena was saying in the video, you have a certain time of success, you want to buy something that shows that success (at that time). And that's why, with some money saved and a partial loan, I purchased the Corvette mainly because it was very nice looking with his black on black exterior interior, it was for sale seemingly at a bargain, plus I was making a decent living at the time. Although I can't afford the repairs now, I want to keep the Corvette because one day that success will come back and I will be able to drive my favorite car once again. This video encourage me to fortify the dream. Thanks Jay.
Sorry for your bad luck! There's always DIY since you don't need the car to get to work and such. Something like this happened to my 05 Forester XT recently (ingested metal in intake, cracked a piston), which is my 2nd/fun car. I decided to rebuild the thing myself, with some friends and youtube to get tips and instructions from. Spent $300 for a hoist and engine stand at harbor freight. I made mistakes, had to tear it down halfway after the first rebuild due to a HG mistake that i caught, but now it's back up and running and I couldn't be happier. First time even taking the head off an engine for me! I did get a pro to install the pistons, i didn't trust myself to get micrometer measurements correct, plus i didn't want to buy even more tools to do the measuring.
"Is your wife a virgin, too?" 😆 I absolutely love this off-the-cuff format! I've had a few opportunities to speak with Jay about cars, and these Pandemic Editions are reminiscent of those conversations. Keep 'em coming, Jay!
I was 15 years old and my sister was dating a guy who was driving a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe and he took me for a ride. The light turned green and he floored it in 1st gear. I said to myself I’m going to have one of these someday. Didn’t have one but I did have 6. Promise kept.
You're completely right about Corvettes in Germany, Jay! I've only once seen a C7 Corvette on the Autobahn. The rest, never seen them on the road. The Corvette is a very special car here in Germany, way more than modern Porsches! It really is an exotic car over here!
@C L Jay fell out with Enzo is why. Ohh and in the rest of the world its McLaren and Lambo that are known as "finance expresses" and get less respect from car guys. Back in the day Ferrari and Lambo got everyone's respect but true car guys know how VAG ruin every brand including porsche. VAG even ruined Scania and Ducati, they conglomerated the life out of every brand and started sticking more of their nose into porsches doings so they are finance expresses now. 2nd hand McLaren are cheaper than my current car was new so they have tarnished the brand with poor reliability.
Oh man, I remember when these came out! This one is the ONLY one I've ever seen actually driving since they're really rare and UA-cam had just started the year before, therefore no one was making automotive videos like they are now. Thanks for sharing, Jay!
I had an idea that it might be nice, if just once a month, your schedules permitting, Mavis would join you in the garage and she could show one of her favorite cars, maybe read questions from fans, and then you could drive her to a soda shop or tea...or whatever she likes, you get the idea. I think it would be great to see your conversations and on camera chemistry. ⚘

Kim is
"You'll notice this is about one and a half inches wider" -oh, absolutely! I had just finished my slide rule calculations; upscaling my phones images. Thanks Jay!
Thank you, Mr. Leno.
"If I had this car when I was 16, I'd be dead." Yup.
At 26 I would have been dead 😭
Either way I would've been happy when I died
We drove 85hp 'superbikes' back in the 70's. Now the things are 150-200 hp. I'd have been dead with one of those at 18.
It looks like Jay lost weight. Or it’s the Jack Lalane suit. He looks great. America’s auto curator!
Lalane's jumpsuit was stretchy, while Leno's is the much classier and comfortable cotton.
He needed to lose weight, a good move.
Disagree. And I worry about his health when he's breathing hard showing the wrench in the trunk.
"Is your wife a Virgin too" 😂😂 FINALLY a legit car guy says it.
I absolutely love these videos. It's so much better to just listen to Jay just, talk. And you can just see how much this man legitimately loves and appreciates cars. Just absolutely love this style, keep it up Jay.
I had to double check it wasn´t Sunday.
Same lol
oh yeah 🤣😂
Actually, it was midnight East Coast 3 minutes before the video dropped.
Me too😅😅😅😅
Haha same
Thank you Jay Leno for being such a cool car enthusiast, and great human being in general. You make the world a better place.
2:47 - The first thing that caught my eye. I'm glad you addressed it.
LoL
Very enjoyable & a fascinating look at one of the finest crafted Corvette's ever built!
Love how Jay's collection is so eclectic. He buys cars for all the right reasons...because he likes 'em!
That is one of the sickest vettes I've ever seen. Black would be my first choice too. I'm in absolute awe.
Mr. Leno I too am a car guy and I greatly appreciate you showing your passion for cars and to continue to do these videos. Thank you for the time and effort that goes into making these. I truly enjoy watching them. God Bless and stay safe!
"is your wife a virgin too!?" Leno you are my hero.
Jay the kinda guy you'd just like to hang out with and talk about cars. Such a regular person.
At first I thought it was a Pratt & Whitney edition hahaha.
nice. turbine edition.
A Pratt & Whitney engine would really light up those old tires...
I kept thinking "I thought they did aircraft engineering"😂
@@soaringvulture PT6 twinpack, 1500+HP. 😈
Me too☹️, thought it was going to be a jet powered Corvette
Sunday morning and there's the best car enthusiast I know with old tires. I don't feel so bad about my 10 year old tires now. Torque wins races and hauls heavy loads.
Beautiful car!!! I've always loved Corvettes and that one might be one of the most special cars I've seen. Thanks for showing it!
I love how excited Jay gets when he can show off a car that moves up and down. It is a cool feature.
Every time Jay gets ready to pull the hood latch on just about any of his cars my heart tumbles a little.
You shouldn't its just a car be it a very nice one but its a car
@@Koll-Manee Yeah it's a car.... That's why. A peak at the powerhouse (especially in a special vehicle) it's an exciting thing to witness. Car guys know we're talking about and if you don't get the same feeling that's ok, just keep in mind that some of us do get that feeling and it means something to us.
Mine too. Because I know I'm going to actually see a engine. Even on this relatively new vehicle we still see intake manifolds and rocker covers, unlike modern cars where you lift the hood and see a big plastic cover.
When you cream your pants when you see the hood off
Being that this is Jay Lenos corvette, its number 1, its pratt and Miller, and only 7 produced and it has only 10k miles, this car is definitely worth over 1 million dollars. Its story and ownership is unmatched to most cars today. Absolutely stunning 😍
Popular opinion: _This car looks really good._
Jay I love your passion and knowledge of all cars. I also like the fact that you preserve cars. You’re a regular car guy like so many of us and not snooty just because you have money. I appreciate ya.
"youll notice this is about 1 and a half inches wider" yes.... clearly...
You act like "one camera on a tripod. There's nobody here" is a bad thing. That's what we want, Jay. Just you and your car. We don't need high production quality. We have you and one of your cars. Perfect.
“New Corvette? Hardly, Dude. I'd say he's still got about $60 - $70,000 left, depending on the options.” - Walter
*Very fascinating & enjoyablelook at one of the finest crafted Corvette's ever built!* 😍
More and more I feel like the C6 was the peak of Corvette styling after the C2.
@@clubracer6 I love my Ron Fellows 2007 Z06. It still scares me and I respect the power a lot. I came from a modified Mini Cooper where you can get away with anything handling wise lol. These C6’s are such a great bargain too.
@@MrGflan Those two cars are almost polar opposites! The C6 market has gone up quite a bit along with just about all used enthusiast cars.
@@clubracer6 lol I know. Different types of owners too. The Mini Cooper camp are all Biden supporting open border pride marching liberals and the Z06 owners are juiced up bodybuilding Trump supporters. LOL JK but not that far off.
The mini is so fun though, I do miss the car. You have to own one to appreciate all the fun they are. Lots of torque down low. The Z is amazing though and my first sports car. Love it. I think they are holding their value now too which is nice.
@@MrGflan I do love a great light weight car with amazing steering, which is why I race a Miata and have owned many street Miata. My current C6 is my 3rd C6 (one was a race car) 4th vette. I love the Miata and corvette equally for very different reasons. I’ve driven Minis and they are fun but I really can’t stand front wheel drive. Maybe I need to drive one with a limited slip diff.
Outstanding video Jay...
You did not commit to stating she was the first Corvette over 200 miles an hour, which is good..
But I just have one word..."SLEDGEHAMER"
250+
Great car, great video, great man !
I came on here to mention the
"Sledgehammer'.
😊
Yeah, that’s one mean Vette. When I saw Pratt & Miller on the car I keep thinking of Pratt & Whitney the aircraft engine company which is not far off with the torque it develops. Thanks Jay good one.
Jay’s Garage is the BEST SHOW on TV or UA-cam today!! Love Jay and absolutely love his show!! Aloha.
18:32 The New C8* ......You're welcome Jay.
Love it. Jay basically praised my perspective of a car. Its meant to be driven. Im rebuilding a car and plan on driving it as much as i can
Love the sound of this engine!! Yes one can only dream of the new c8 I keep looking at them on the build your own corvette I get to be in heaven for at least for a few minutes in my mind .
Jay Leno driving a Corvette just screams “America” to me! 😎🇺🇸
Thanks Jay.
Frequent oil changes suggested.
Perfect comment Art you beat me to it. And remember guys the car will not and cannot divorce you unlike your potential slave owner.
@@caesarillion already was doing that sir.
@@johnmcdonald1647 Not so perfect when the same woman helped me through my cancer crisis. But I respect your thoughts..
Quite possibly my most favorite engineering firm in the business.
Thanks, Jay!
Jay, anytime you need miles put on that sweet ride just give me a call. I will baby it until the wheels fall off.
Got to love Jay he Is a O.G in the car world
"Is your wife a virgin, too?"
😆 I absolutely love this off-the-cuff format!
I've had a few opportunities to speak with Jay about cars, and these Pandemic Editions are reminiscent of those conversations.
Keep 'em coming, Jay!
Beautiful, breathtaking car. I remember seeing this on display at the Detroit Auto Show years back. Still looks just as good all these years later.

Jay: “any gear you’re in it pulls So Nicely” 🤣 😂👍
I got a 2009 zo6. Absolutely amazing car. That 7 liter engine has a very beautiful and unique exhaust note.
"Is your wife a virgin too" 🤣😂🤣😂 i wanna grow up and be just like you! Lol Your a legend Mr. Leno...
“Racecraft! Is his wife a virgin too?” Love Jay Language. Thank you for an awesome quarantine edition!
You're completely right about Corvettes in Germany, Jay! I've only once seen a C7 Corvette on the Autobahn. The rest, never seen them on the road. The Corvette is a very special car here in Germany, way more than modern Porsches! It really is an exotic car over here!
19:25 is the start of the virgin joke everyone keeps commenting without adding in the marker. You're welcome.
thx! came back after finishing the video just to hear that again hahaha
Everyone comments it but nobody would put a timestamp
Thank you
Jay Leno just destroyed Ferrari as a brand and it's typical buyers.
Do a review of your Oldsmobile Toronado now that you've mentioned it.
@PATRIOT MONKEY YEAH, A WHOLE FOUR MINUTE VIDEO.
I went to Le Mans in 2008 and the Corvettes were my favourite.
They sounded like thunder!!!
