Imagine having the world at your feet, millions of dollars and making the decision to murder someone and destroy countless lives.
Evil belongs in jail.

Karma. I don’t feel one bit sorry for Charlie. He’s a grown man who made his decisions.
This is one of the most tragic cases I've ever seen in all my years of following murder trials. The most unnecessary. The most ridiculous. The most heartless. The most vile. This man did NOT have to die. This mother and her evil children conspired to kill Dan for no reason except bitterness and hate, and I just thank God justice is finally coming to this family. How dare these people refuse to work with Dan to share in the raising of these kids, and instead take the cowards way out by murdering him. It's unconscionable. My prayer for those two boys is that as they grow up and learn about all the facts, they see the truth for what it is - their daddy was a good man who was killed by their grandmother, their uncle, and most likely their mother - and because of them, they don't have their father with them today to help guide them. My prayer for them is that they are reunited with their fathers parents and family as soon as possible, and that healing comes to all of them moving forward.

@@mpmartin1588 Yep. I cannot imagine going almost a decade waiting for justice for my son's murder. That is torture. Mr. Markel talked about his night terrors in his victim impact statement - that is easy to believe. I pray they are able to find a little more peace today with Charlie's sentencing, however we know the battle continues. Next up is Donna, and hopefully Wendi after that.

A child should always outlive their parents but sometimes life has a cruel way of snatching the carpet from under your feet.
Im certain that the Markel family would prefer a million times over to have the presence of their son versus this life sentence and the boys too who will know that their father loved them so very much.
Finally justice has somewhat been served but the real masterminds Wendy and her mother need to rot in jail too. Until then I wish the Markel Family a Happy Hannakua and let us pray that Wendy is next and that the boys get grow up with real loving grandparents and learn of their heritage and practice their faith and traditions like their father wanted.
Charlie had a perfect life but his own evil arrogance destroyed it all. He had no skin in the game between Dan and Wendi. What a stupid decision.

As a divorce lawyer in California, I have had several cases that could have gone in the direction this case did, with a sociopathic ex-wife and her family waging a relentless litigation campaign against the former husband. Like the Adelsons, these were cases where a well-educated wife was spoiled by her parents, believing she was above the law. I hope this case is a wakeup call for other evil exes to think twice before taking the life of someone they have no regard for. This is justice, even though it doesn't bring back Dan or any of the other murdered spouses in divorce-related cases.
So many people are living this nightmare in many ways and can’t fight or pay - just being strung out and abused through only wanting to have their a family and kids. Family law is truly in the trenches nowadays.
The reason for killing a human being and father of ur children was so stupid. Just for Donna and Wendy to live together in Miami, 1 hour flight. That's nothing. Such a pathological enmeshed family.
This won't feel like justice to me until Wendi is sentenced, the kids are reunited with Dan's parents, and the kids recognize the Adelsons for who they really are. If the kids don't get deprogrammed, what's the point? The Adelsons still would have gotten what they wanted, parental alienation in addition to annihilation.
Donna reminds me a LOT of my ex’s step dad. He was relentless. He broke into my house, assaulted me and kidnapped my son. Also, he assaulted me again while I was pregnant. He’s a Denver lieutenant who thinks he’s above the law. And unfortunately, things I had proof of were not admissible and my attorney didn’t want to touch it. 😔 I could have been Dan. I thank God every day I got out.
I think that’s so interesting! We all know 3 women are murdered each day in the US by a romantic partner, which is a number that’s so hard to wrap our heads around.
Obviously, the numbers are more like 3 per YEAR not DAY when it comes to women murdering men in a legal divorce setting, but the context and motivations and psychology is so different from basic misogyny. An interesting thing the Markel/Adelson case has showcased is the sociopathic hatred, as you mention. It is obvious in the testimony of Wendi & Charlie, and recordings of Donna, that their antisocial attitudes were so strong they STILL don’t view Dan as a human being.
A murderer. A liar A coward.

Absolutely heartbreaking, and infuriating. Dan was an amazing dad, the trashy Adelson’s didn’t deserve such a great man in their family. It’s at least a small measure of justice to see Charlie and Donna locked up. But Wendi and Harvey need to join them, and those boys need to be with the Markels. Wendi continues to brainwash her kids and restrict visits to their grandparents. It’s sickening how they continue to torture this family.

Jeff put up with it for too long - he also was the first person to mention Charlie as a likely perp to police. There were red flags from the beginning of the Dan/Wendi marriage such as Wendi’s family blatantly not serving kosher food despite its importance to so many attendees; sadly I think Dan was so happy to meet a well-educated and beautiful woman from his religious faith that he ignored massive red flags all around. The whole Adelson family is poison.
How ironic would be if and when the whole family goes down for this that the grandparents get custody of the kids!

I started watching this case back in 2019 with the podcast “Over my dead body”. Probably one of the most interesting true crime podcasts that I have ever listened to. So glad that the family is finally getting justice for Dan. It has been a long road for them for sure.

It wasn’t about money obviously. It wasn’t about love. Revenge. It was those were HER grandkids and how dare he not allow her daughter from relocating to Miami so SHE could be in charge of their lives. How dare Jibbers be in control. It kept eating away at her. Read the emails and texts and wire tap calls. When she finally reached the point of what she set in motion, she easily manipulated Charlie to pull it off. She wasn’t able to do that. She knew he could due to him rolling around with Ho’s off the boat who had very shady associates. Wendi in no way on earth was part of that plan. She never ever would have said, ok mom, that sounds like a sensible solution. Impossible. Once it went down, obviously she knew who was behind it. What then could she do? Distance herself from them. I’m positive she’s not only infuriated by what they did, but hoped all along they’d get busted. And yes, it was Donna who was behind the grandkids names being changed. If Donna and Charlie would have told her ahead of time their plan, she’d have said, WTF!!!!! Ya I do t like my damn Ex but I don’t want him killed!!!!!! Donna certainly would have known that would be her response. Donna is clearly upset that since that murder, especially the last few years, she didn’t want much to do with her mom and brother. It wasn’t because she was fearing the law closing in. It was because she very much so hated what they did. Wendi is not at all like Donna. Charlie is exactly like Donna.
All for his sister who kept her hands clean. She sleeps every night in a comfy bed, eats what she wants, does what she wants and enjoys life unlike him. Love to ask him, when he can be honest, why? Why did you throw your life away for your sister’s divorce issues?

Charlie Adelson spent at least 1 million dollars to his high profile defense attorney. For all the good it did him, he could have saved the million bucks, defended himself and done just as well in the end.

Life in prison and no possibility of release or parole. One other thing, $3.00 charge for photocopies.
He will have to pay for the entire cost of the prosecution, so whatever he gets from the sale of his home will go towards that.
I think Charlie realizes now that he made a big big big mistake which he cannot recover from. It’s really a sad case and once again when one possess huge sums of money people feel omnipotent.

After 20 years in prison, Charlie would be 70, and his child stopped visiting him. Donna and Harvey are deceased, and Wendi is probably incarcerated. He is harassed daily by other inmates, and his well-being has been significantly affected. Alone and sick in his cell, he reflects on the day he suggested eliminating Dan, now regretting his choices. He questions why he made such a decision, wonders if he was under the influence that night, and curses Wendi and Donna. He contemplates whether it was all worth it and whether Robert remembers him.

The fact that this attorney Mr. Rashbaum knows Charlie did commit this crime yet sits on the side of Charlie acting as if Charlie didn’t do it just for money! I studied law and I never pursued it bc I saw how unfair the system was and how corrupted
Then don't be a defense attorney. 1000's of other types of attorneys do wonderful things for many. Plus, occasionally, innocent people do get falsely accused in one way or the other and need a good defense attorney. I wouldn't generalize as your complaint is really with Rashbaum those like him.

Every one in this country deserves an effective defense. He had his and a jury found him guilty, end of story.

My grandson's stepmom was so much like Wendi. She ruled his dad to the point he was miserable when my grandson came for his visits. His Dad said " Son, I have to do what she tells me to. She does these things to you to make your mom mad & to make her mad she treats you wrong and makes me" He told his dad "but the only one you are hurting is me" His Dad's response "I have to live with her. They lied so much, the trust is gone. Breaks my heart. They are missing out on a relationship with this awesome young man.
