iBeer420noscope I kinda know what you mean. I think nostalgia just plays a big part in why I still enjoy listening to it. I must say I find it better than any modern metalcore though. Even though it seems so juvenile or primitive in comparison, every old band had their own flavor.
I love this band. The drummer used to be an idol to me when I was a teenager. I was a drummer for a long time and I knew drummers are basically doomed to being back of stage, out of the spotlight etc. Then I saw a music video of these guys on tv and I saw that the drummer was one of the front men. That was so cool to me! I even learned to sing while I played their songs on my drum set. I don't play drums anymore but I still make music. Awesome memories with this music.

It's great how Atreyu has become a part of that "these guys were my shit back in the day" sort of band. They deserved it, they were one of the pioneers of a whole new era of music. I grew up in the era of post-hardcore and metalcore, and it's sad to say but they are slowly dying out. All genres take a downturn at some point, look at the likes of classic rock, metal, and grunge. I consider this band a major factor in the chronology of heavy music and they will always be among my favorites and influences.

This generation of music has changed since we entered the new decade, and this style of music has been fading out. "The Crimson" I feel it welling up inside and Robert Smith lied Boys do cry and with blood tears in my eyes I'm an Anne Rice novel come to life I can't hide the monster anymore One can only feel desolate for so long Until one starts to change Into something the mirror doesn't recognize I metamorphasize The darkness has been biding its time To claim its latest victim Fresh meat for carnal desires To become what I became I viewed the sun for the last time [Chorus:] Will you still hold me when you see what I have done? Will you still kiss me the same when you taste my victim's blood? So crimson and red, I feel it flowing from your lips (crimson and red) My heart is dead and so are you And it pulses through, the desire to change The desire to deconstruct all of my past failings But where to begin because when you live in sin It's hard to look at saints without them Reflecting your jet black auras back on you And all I have is hope, my inner burn's not fading I'll wipe the blood from my cheek and get on with my day [Chorus] And all I have is hope, and all I need is time To bury in pine under six feet of time The lies I told me about myself Claw my way out, pick the splinters from under my fingernails I won't lose hope, I won't give in Just live and breathe and try not to die again [Chorus x2]
Zachary Saxton shame he is, but that's what you get for being stupid I supose, and Atreyu were weird they came out to A-team theme lol weird but epic! One of those miss the old days moments coming on lol
underrated? they are one of the most popular metalcore bands.. they have great gigs and lot of fans.. there is a lot of overrated bands in metalcore but Atreyu is cult band for metalcore fans
a prime example of how a record label can do bands in. Their label ran the band into the ground. Hopefully their comeback, which is hopefully what they are teasing, is going to be amazing.
Why the f*ck does it matter? Why do you even have to bring up quarantine? Maybe to gain a few likes? Im so sick of peoples comments on every video: Whos listening in 2020, 2021, 2022, ect. scroll down two people basically said the same thing. Sheepish much? Good grief
I remember when I first discovered this band in like 07… I was an angry pre teen… I knew I wanted to be a rockstar the first time I seen this video… my dream came true.. and that’s why I still have to watch it.. to remember what it felt like to be truly inspired
In 6th grade, 11 years ago I bought my buddy's ipod on the bus and it had a bunch of music in it and this song; I stumbled upon and Atreyu became my favorite band after that to this very day
Impossible to put into words how much this song means to me. A bit of my soul is captured in it. It brings me back to a time where I was young and free and happy but also lost and searching and this song and the curse album and Atreyu seemed to speak directly to me and tell me that everything was going to be ok and that there are other people out there who feel just like you do. Plus this song fucking rocks!
it's a shame this genre has become so convoluted with nonsense bands trying to appeal to what it was these bands captured. This song is by all definitions a work of art as was everything from suicide note and butterfly kisses. Just a metal band putting out the music THEY wanted to play. Sadly those days are over.
I think because at this time this music wasn't popular. a lot of amazing bands that were around this time that were amazing and talented would never get the airplay. that being said I do miss this sound and the scene back then.
I head bang and jam out to this band ever day! Fans of this music, turn it up! Fuck conformity and the shitty "hip-hop" of this decade lol. Love and listen to what you want :)
😥 im sorry for what has happened. this entire album has helped so many of us in the worst of times. Just reading about what they went through when making this album could give everyone hope.
Man, I would have loved to been in one of their mosh pits. I bet that shit got insane. Really glad the quarantine happened. It’s given a chance to reflect on my life, which in turn brought about me digging through my old CD collection and boy have I found some bangers for when I have to commute to work when shit blows over. This album being one such banger.
Are you me? Because this is more or less exactly what I did - the lockdown and losing a job made me rediscover a whole bunch of stuff I just hadn't had time to listen to or think about because adult life is very unforgiving like that. End result, I'm coming out of the pandemic happily re-employed and even more happily backsliding into my high school music taste.
This song and album by atreyu is so underrated its perfect , its dark ,its cold and filled with soul .Bands like this are rare , they are in every genre of music 🎶 theres just some songs by artists like these that reallly hit 🎯 you and dig deep into our soul ,spine and every fiber of our being ,to realize we are human is a amazing but tragic experience but I would live thru it all again , to know we are alive is just so beautiful ❤️.
I used to listen to this on my walkman, or whatever its called for cds, while my parents drove me to my baseball tournaments. I would always kill it because it would get me so pumped haha
There were very few bands back then that could sum up all the emo feelings of a teen relationship like Atreyu. Man this brings back painful memories...

Boys do cry and with blood tears in my eyes
I'm an Anne Rice novel come to life
I can't hide the monster anymore
One can only feel desolate for so long
Until one starts to change
Into something the mirror doesn't recognize
I metamorphasize
The darkness has been biding its time
To claim its latest victim
Fresh meat for carnal desires
To become what I became
I viewed the sun for the last time
[Chorus:]
Will you still hold me when you see what I have done?
Will you still kiss me the same when you taste my victim's blood?
So crimson and red, I feel it flowing from your lips (crimson and red)
My heart is dead and so are you
And it pulses through, the desire to change
The desire to deconstruct all of my past failings
But where to begin because when you live in sin
It's hard to look at saints without them
Reflecting your jet black auras back on you
And all I have is hope, my inner burn's not fading
I'll wipe the blood from my cheek and get on with my day
[Chorus]
And all I have is hope, and all I need is time
To bury in pine under six feet of time
The lies I told me about myself
Claw my way out, pick the splinters from under my fingernails
I won't lose hope, I won't give in
Just live and breathe and try not to die again
[Chorus x2]
Rolando Pacheco lyrics are already in description
"Robert Smith lied" the one atreyu lyric that proper annoys me. Looks like someone just saw the song title and never listened to it.
Dat key change doe. It's been nearly a decade and I still love this song
That bridge to the last chorus with the key change is ICONIC
Deeply miss the old 'Atrey, Caliban, Silverstein, BFMV and Parkway Drive' era 😩😩
one of themost underrated bands. honestly i listen to anyhting with guitars and drums except deathcore.
i can honestly agree with that, i saw them in 2010 great show along with as i lay dying. still cant beileve they came to such a small city lol :D
damn i really want to see them both live but thats highly improbable. escpecially as i lay dying cause tim is behind bars.
Who's listening from quarantine?
Me 😊 This was one of my favorite bands when i was younger. :D Have a good day everyone ☺
Yep
Why the f*ck does it matter? Why do you even have to bring up quarantine? Maybe to gain a few likes? Im so sick of peoples comments on every video: Whos listening in 2020, 2021, 2022, ect. scroll down two people basically said the same thing. Sheepish much? Good grief
@@kineticuncertainty someone needs a hug... im jk lol I feel that lol I hate that on every song myself.
Hi, Cam
I used to listen to this with my husband when we first met awesome song 🤟🏻
Brings back memories
I remember when I first discovered this band in like 07… I was an angry pre teen… I knew I wanted to be a rockstar the first time I seen this video… my dream came true.. and that’s why I still have to watch it.. to remember what it felt like to be truly inspired
So much edge, I love it.
In 6th grade, 11 years ago I bought my buddy's ipod on the bus and it had a bunch of music in it and this song; I stumbled upon and Atreyu became my favorite band after that to this very day
started the night with Hawthorne Heights, then a little Slipknot, and now I'm here....such amazing music. this genre needs to make a huge comeback
Please god no
Hawthorne and slipknot? bro you're all over the place here..
Alex Biersner I agree, I miss the good ol days
Alex Biersner thanks for reminding me about hawthorne heights I forgot about them
The greatest band the music genre has ever seen!
I think because at this time this music wasn't popular. a lot of amazing bands that were around this time that were amazing and talented would never get the airplay. that being said I do miss this sound and the scene back then.
so true.. God bless the music industry
glad atreyu made a comeback last year, you can compare long live album to suicide notes even
I head bang and jam out to this band ever day! Fans of this music, turn it up! Fuck conformity and the shitty "hip-hop" of this decade lol. Love and listen to what you want :)
BarDown57 for real man
A7X, Atreyu, All That Remains, and Slipknot=Heaven.
And I feel 15 again.
Lol no shit I'm 30 and this shit makes me so happy. Not even necessarily impressed with the music. Just missing an easy life
❤️
When to taste a chaos 2006 I feel like I'm trying to Relive those moments as we speak good times gang gang onward🐀👑
We must be the same age guys!!! Me too! I feel i am in 2005-2006 again!!! Best days of my life
I have loved this song for so long. This was in my everquest, WoW and D2 playlist and it's nostalgic af
atreyu was the first band that got me into hardcore music back in the highschool, awesome!
😥 im sorry for what has happened. this entire album has helped so many of us in the worst of times. Just reading about what they went through when making this album could give everyone hope.
I'M AN ANN RICE NOV EL COME TO LIFE (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ who's Ann Rice anyway
Wdym?
I remember as soon as i got my driver's license, this was the first song I blasted on my CD stereo driving.
The first couplet is just amazing, one of my favorite all songs. Thanks Alex and the writter of this song.
So fricken old school. Miss it.
Riiiight? Still amazing.

This was my highschool and it's even more badass now
this video brought back so many memories, this album and butterflies was amazing!
I used to listen to this on my walkman, or whatever its called for cds, while my parents drove me to my baseball tournaments. I would always kill it because it would get me so pumped haha
Still loving this today
ETID, Atreyu, Unearth and Lamb of God. Never forget, Cajun House, Scottsdale AZ, 2004.
whos ETID?
+kill3rtj75 Every Time I Die
ok cool thanks il check them out never heard of them
Man, new Atreyu is still really good, but old Atreyu used to hit SOOOO hard
There were very few bands back then that could sum up all the emo feelings of a teen relationship like Atreyu. Man this brings back painful memories...
I'm listening TODAY, and not for the first time, listened yesterday and many days before that in the recent past, great band and great song
