Always use a moist sponge, wring it out well. Using a wet sponge will add more water to the grout that's already been mixed with the right amount of water. Adding more water will weaken the grouting, and it might (probably will) fail eventually.

Wipe with sponge, turn over sponge, wipe. Rinse and repeat. Try not to wipe more than once on each side of the sponge. Keeps it clean.
To get rid of that extra grout when you’re done always run the float over the excess grout when it’s a little wet. (The float is the tool she’s using to apply the grout) She didn’t do that so when she went to clean it with the sponge it was just making more of a mess

I just used black power grout. What a nightmare mess! 😂 I just got done wiping off the tiles to the point I can let it sit till tomorrow and buff off the tiles. Got some black grout on my newly painted walls. I cleaned it off the best I could but I'm sure I'll be touching up where it contacts with the floors. I'll stick with light colored grout from now on. My hands are even stained from the grout.

Nowadays, easy grout pen is available so need to clean repeatedly but ..this method needs lots of work but works perfectly.

Fyi tiling with black grout on glazed compared to stone/pourous tile complete different ball game. I learnt that the hard way doing my own shower just now.! Light coloured tiles aswell, im still cleaning them down hence why im here watching this video. 😅 should of just got a glazed tile 😢

I’ve just done black grout on my white tiles in my bathroom, every time they get wet or I try to give them a soft wipe, the colour just bleeds down. I didn’t realise you could get sealers…would this solve my issue?
Yes. Must be sealed. Regrout and seal.

I use the premixed so much easier. Really it is better to do smaller sections at a time.
Never leave grout everywhere like this..There is zero reason not to use your float at a 45 degree angle to clean up as you go so you don't have a mess like this and so you can actually see spots that need more grout...also never mentioned that I heard the most important step after the first wipe down and that to go back and check for air bubbles that always occur to spot fill...this was a very unhelpful video with mostly no info or missing info on how to do it other than watch them do it...

You need to rinse out spongebob every 2 passes. Don't put so much pressure on your wife and I'll figure out all that grout gets released from the Spongebob

At what point do you add the sealer?
When the grout has cured. I normally put it on after a day or so.
GOOD TUTORIAL BUT YOU DIDN'T SAY HOW LONG YOU SHOULD WAIT TO WIPE OFF THE FIRST TIME.

Before! Otherwise the grout will dry on the tiles and not come off.
My contractor used charcoal grout. When it was wet, it was perfectly black and the white title looked amazing with black grout. Now that the grout dried it looks more gray than black. Anyone have any suggestion s? Is there a black black grout? Or worst case scenario can this be changed to white?

So that chipping on the tile is why I steer clients away from subway tile its all cheap af bowed twisted and crappy material
Stopped using polyblend a long time ago that grout is total crap!! I wouldn't built a much larger centered niche..... can't fit anything in those niches .....I also always do a down low niche at the customer's wife's knee height for a foot hold for shaving legs
