I played this game as a DM about 30 + years ago and painted them as well, good times, good times, I sculpt my own miniatures for D&D now AND print them as well. I'm using this technique to get more dept in my models. Keep it up!
Yes copying and following along. Hope that through your 30 days of painting in November you finish at least the starter box. Also Zombiecide need to get those going. I painted all my zombies but not heroes yet for that game. Loving your videos because I too love the Army Painter paints to help get color on minis faster.
Just bought heroquest. Playing my first game tonight with my 9 year old and a couple of friends. Really looking forward to painting the minis. You have convinced me about the clear bases. Love the board.
I have HQ 2021 and all the expansions except the Guardian Knights of the Commander. I really like how you match the painted miniatures with the cards. I would like to have all my miniatures painted with clear ba.
Great video! I really like your HeroQuest content! The 3D board is looking really nice and you have inspired me to try and do painting like you do with black base coat drybrush white then contrast/speed paint. I wanted to answer your question about more than 4 Heroes. I run Heroquest with my friends and we don't get together very often so when I do run it I want everyone to be able to play. I have been playing with groups of 5 to 9 and the biggest thing I have found that is a problem is that the Heroes will get bunched up and then the game gets boring because some people can't participate because they are in the back or they have to run around the board for 4 turns to get anywhere because of a dead end. I have designed my own missions with multiple paths so that the party can split up and then everything seems to work better. I recommend trying to make custom missions with multiple paths to solve the >4 Heroes problem.
Cheers for the comment, Im kinda in the same position and will probably only play once a month, but it would be a good 6 hour session and looking to have as many players as possible lol. Im playing my first homebrew quest this Sunday so trying to mix it up too so they can go off and hopefully not get killed lol 🙂
I don’t even play HQ but I love the positive vibes and always enjoy your videos. Plus speedpaints have really gotten me back into painting, so I totally agree keep showing the colors you use! (Us partly colorblind people love seeing the names so we don’t have to match by sight!)
I just ordered a copy of Zombicide Black plague as well!, I've been painting miniatures for years but haven't played an actual game in ages, after watching videos of people playing Zombicide I thought it looked perfect for me. I'm finding it harder and harder to build miniatures as I get older so these games with already built ones are perfect, can't wait to paint some zombies too.
Just finished painting the base set and the rogue heir models taday. Been running a game with my niece and nephew as well as a few of their friends for the last few weeks.
when you highlight red; use orange to highlight it, your get a better effect. If you use paint then your need to water down or for best effect use a wet pallet, I know you think your limitations are where they are, but a wet pallet for highlighting is a game changer, I have been painting for 30+ years and when I first started painting my effort's were, well; rubbish, but you don't need to be artistic to get a really good result's its just practice and taking baby steps. Also with your flesh, you may want to get a flesh tone ink and go over the flesh, I have used the flesh speed paints and they are not the best, but then after you apply some flesh tone wash, you can highlight the highest parts of the face with a light sin tone (using a wet pallet), these little things wont take a long time, but they will make your model stand out a little more. I think slap chopping is great for people who don't want to learn how to paint fully, and with games like Heroquest it can really make the game look nice.
I have questions please: why drybursh when you are going to paint over everything anyway? I am such a new mini painter that I have never even primed a model before I painted. Is the Speedpaint Medium I got with my Army Paints set a primer? And lastly, since you are paint over the entire model, what difference does black or white primer make? Thanks.
Hi Miniature Waffler (that's my nickname for your channel as I love your waffling). My husband has just got a Anycubic Mono 2 3D printer because of watching your channel and how well you showed how to set up and use it. But would love it if you could do a guide on how to use the software to download model files and alter, change, position on the build plate, etc as we are finding that a bit daunting. Love your channel, keep waffling😊
Haha, I do waffle a bit, ahh thats great to hear about getting a printer, Im just about to do a lot of videos with the phrozen mighty 8K so will start doing more about settings and getting stls from sites to being printed 🙂
Army painter white/cream/ light bone speedpaints really need to go over solid white or gray instead of slapchop. They do come out well but need to be worked around for best effect.
You can also prime in Brown or grey instad of black and brush in Off-white (mummy something in my case, from armypainter) That makes the colours way more vibrant
Great paint video and that elf came out great. 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎 How long would you say it took to finish him from start to finish for the main colours? Plus, do you varnish the mini once completed? Glad I found your channel, I'm like you, with plain acrylic base colours, a wash or two and drybrushing, I can spend a whole evening painting one PC figure for my D&D games!
10000% Interested in seeing how you make your cards? I bought a laminator, card stock and a printer... Just haven't quite worked out the kinks for the card template. I want them to look professional... Be very cool to see your work!
@@MiniatureHobbyist I'm very interested to see your process and the final results. I want to make cards not only for this game, but also my D&D campaign... And since you are a man who really takes the details of your hobby seriously, I just know you will make this look great!
Dear lord brother!! Why not just use a chisel tip razor to cut hero off?? Did my whole 2E zombicide with clear bases and i was cutting them off in 20 secs or less. Was grabbing base with small pliers to keep fingers out of danger.
hello, how is 97k followers enough to let you work full time at making stuff to do with miniature gaming? Just curious as you mentioned it last vid. Keep up the fun content!
Hi guys, please help me reach 100k subs by the end of the year by Sharing and Subscribing, many thanks 🙂
Those transparent bases are very cool.

Love your stuff. Home brew rules and cards are awesome if you make more card content I am all for it. Thanks for sharing what you do
Cool, Im doing my first homebrew quest this Sunday and will make some monster cards and treasure cards soon 🙂

Mine just arrived today and Im so pleased the miniatures are the same scale as HeroQuest as I want to run a dungeon full of zombies lol 🙂
Love the hero quest videos mate ❤
Thats great to hear as Im loving it and just brought the Zombicide game to use the miniatures from that with this game 🙂
Awesome videos love heroquest quest I have old versions and couldn't resist buying the new ones 😀 😄
Haha, Im thinking of buying the old ones now I have most of the new ones 🙂
Just finished painting the base set and the rogue heir models taday. Been running a game with my niece and nephew as well as a few of their friends for the last few weeks.
Awesome, its such a cool game with basic rules which can be expanded with homebrew rules 🙂
Love the clear bases.. Wonderful minis and paint jobs !! :)
Thank you so much, clear bases for the win lol 🙂
what was the rubber paint holder?
Is that cutting device sharp enough to cut off a finger by accident?
Good stuff. Fantastic series!
Thank you so much 🙂

Hey! You sold me on the palette - is it available in the US, and if so, could you provide a link (did you say it was a kid's toy?)
Just type in kids poppit toy, Im sure they are sold everywhere 🙂
How thick are these clear bases?
Just 1mm 🙂
Where do you get your clear bases from or do you make them yourself?
I get them from a company called fluid 3D bases 🙂
@@MiniatureHobbyist cheers I too love clear bases but they can be hit or miss and the ones you use are similar to some I got years ago.
Seriously tempted to jump into HeroQuest. Did you buy the Mythic Tier?
Ive now brought everything lol, just waiting for the new ogre quest thingy to become available, Im so hooked 🙂

A lot of my videos are sponsored by companies and a lot of the 3D printers Im sent I then sell 🙂
Probably annoying, but if you can easily create a "heroquest" playlist that would be greeaaat.
You read my mind as thats just what I am about to do now I have quite a few done and I will put it on my main page, cheers for watching 🙂
This dude ruined his Hero Quest miniatures....I cried.
