Happy First Birthday to the Channel! Thank you all for your support, positivity and engagement. Thus far, I have tried to talk about affordable skincare products that are accessible at the drugstore and today I wanted to highlight CeraVe's Resurfacing Retinol Serum. Does this retinol check off all the boxes?
We all love retinoids for their anti-aging benefits as well as anti-acne properties. There are so many out there and I hope that these reviews help you especially if you are a beginner to retinoid creams/serums. I BOUGHT THIS WITH MY OWN MONEY.
I know this involves subjectivity especially in my opinion on the texture but I hope that an overview of the ingredients will help guide you on which fits you better. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

I use this Resurfacing Serum with Cetaphil moisturizer for almost a month now and I’ve never have this plumpy and clear skin in my life before 👍❤️

@@ThickBaloney i just wash my face with mild soap like cetaphil and moisturize with the cetaphil moisturizer and then wait for it to dry and finish it with the cerave resurfacing serum. Thats only for night. For day just soap, moisturizer and cerave sunscreen spf30. 😅

Hi Dr. Sugai! I’m so glad I found your channel. I just turned 60 😱 and I’ve taken ‘ok’ care of my skin thus far (though I tanned a LOT in the 70’s and 80’s - but we all did back then) I’m ready to learn more and do better! Thank you for taking your time and effort to educate us. I’ve watched a few other UA-camrs and I like your delivery style. Great information! I just started my anti aging skincare last month and started using this. I can see my skin is shedding. It seems to be working. I’m grateful there is good products at the drugstores. Skincare should be affordable for all.
Great video! This retinol plays very well with my rosacea. The one “con” I can think of is that you never know how much product you have left.

I really like how cerave has changed my skin so far. I have only tried their products a week ago and I can definitely tell the difference from before and after. It is obviously a process but I love the progress so far. The improvements on my skin are noticeable & it puts me in a good mood ❤ I appreciate people like you that puts out the effort to help us understand how important skin care can be.

Dr. Dan: I discovered your videos about a month ago and appreciate your expertise, and the fact you are not pushing expensive skin care products. I started taking better care of my skin when I was in my mid-thirties, after getting my first professional facial. I had been using soap and water and treating my T-zone area with products which actually made it produce more oil. Over the past 30+ years, I’ve continued getting various skin care treatments and have used both drugstore and expensive topical items. I’ve been using Cereve Vitamin C for a couple of weeks, and I swear I already see a difference!
I used this CeraVe for 2 months and a friend noticed my pores were smaller and I didn't even notice! I switched to a different brand just to try something different and I am now regretting it as my skin doesn't look as plump and smooth like it did with the CeraVe product. I just ordered the CeraVe!

I bought some of this, Cerave hydrating cleanser, & a Cetaphil light moisturizer. I wanted try this since I saw it said "resurfacing". I NEED that, and to fade acne scars. I've never been happy about my pore size since I was a teen either. I'm so glad to see a doctor likes this stuff. I just started to do my acne routine midday, then the non active wash, retinol, then moisturizer at night. I love the way this product feels too, and how easy to apply it is.

Great video, Doc Daniel! I love this serum. I’ve been using it since January. I’m 54 years old, don’t have many wrinkles to speak of, but this serum has done wonders for my sun spots. They have lightened SIGNIFICANTLY! Some have completely disappeared. I also watch “ The Budget Dermatologist” (Dr. Maren Loche) who also highly recommends this serum. Glad to know you guys are on the same page! 🥰

I always spent on overpriced, over hyped creams. 2 weeks in for me, and my skin looks the best it ever has in my 51 years. I use the cleanser, the resurfacing, the moisturiser, and the eye cream. All cost less than what I'd spend on a face cream ❤

I just got this few days ago and so far I am loving it. Used it twice already and maybe I have seen some difference on my post-acne marks. Smooth consistency, non greasy after application. Not having any dryness/flakey skin or redness. Heres hoping the marks fade away in few weeks 🤞🏼

I actually add glycolic acid together with this to get extra benefits. Since the percentage of retinol is low in this cerave serum, I just add a 5% glycolic acid peel pad before this to get benefits, love it.

Try the CeraVe moisturizers. I’m older so I use the night cream.There is one for both AM and PM. They have ceramides, niacinamides and hyaluronic acid. Absolute best! You can’t go wrong with these. Worth a try.
Wow! I just bought this product today, excited to get started - and right after applying it I decided to do some research and get some honest reviews on the product. I came across this video - and was totally shocked when you said not to use it while pregnant or breastfeeding. I am breastfeeding my 3 month old baby and did not realize it could have potentially negative effects on my baby! I immediately went to wash it off and will have to try again when we are no longer breastfeeding. Thank you so much for posting this video! I had no idea! 🙏🙏👍

I use Tretinoin twice a week and will incorporate the Equate version of this into my regime, on the nights I don’t use the T 😊
I've just started doing that. I do Tretinoin twice a week and the cereve every other night. No irritations. I'm plucking up the courage to use Tretinoin every other day.
Ive been using Tretinoin for almost 3 years now but I used this Cerave retinol (two whole bottles ) before I started tretinoin and after like 7 months I noticed and nice bright effect, but Tretinoin is where the real deal is.

@@judicialninja778 there was a time where I would use tretinoin like 3 times a week and the cerave retinol the rest of the week but now I just use Tretinoin every night after my moisturizer. I use retinol creams on my neck area and body since its more gentle and leave the Tretinoin for the face
@@judicialninja778 Tretinoin for me its way more powerful and gives me better benefits than Retinol much faster, I no longer get any type of dryness from it.

Tratinion is best for anti aging purpose but Tratinion whenever i use twice a week my skin becomes dry flaky and irritating that's why i can use only once a week therfore i want to use cerave serum bcoz its gentle ,what you can suggest me?
@@judicialninja778 stick to one, but Tretinoin still works effectively if you use it once or twice a week. The benefits will just come a bit slower but surely. If you have not tried this when using tretinoin moisturize before and after using Tretinoin. However if after at least 2 months of using Tretinoin consistently you still get very irritated then switch to using a gentle Retinol like cerave.

Thank you for your endorsement of an OTC retinol. (purple only experience for me thus far). YES, yes the promised comparison of the blue and purple. And Doc, will you advise? The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, in the wide 16 oz tub, the 4th ingredient is alcohol. I like the price, the richness of the cream, the abundance of the product and yet every time I use it, I think better of it. Is there enough goodness in the list to weaken the 4th ingredient out?

I bought this and tried it one time but was using a salicylic acid treatment at the same time (salicylic acid in the morning, this product at night)so Unfortunately my skin got pretty irritated and I thought it was this product so I stopped using it. ButAfter doing some research I realize I was just doing too much at once and that less is more when it comes to skin care. I look forward to simplifying my routine and using less active and giving us a second shot because I believe it will be a good product for me and effective for my acne

Liz Ramirez I like to use “ La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Multi-Purpose Cream - 1.35oz” Works well. I have sensitive skin so using a gentle hydrating cleanser first works well, followed by Cereve Retinol then the balm I just listed.

i have very sensitive skin and this one is so gentle! no irritation whatsoever, while when i was using differin 1/10 of the amount of cerave i use now would burn my skin completely. This is really great, a good moisturiser on top and you're golden!
I got this product recently at Ulta and i've been using it here and there, sometimes I feel like I get a little irritated by it sometimes but now that I watched your video I know to only apply a pea size amount, I was doing one solid pump which is like a pea size and a half, but I do enjoy how it makes my face feel, it feels tight and very smooth. Hi Doctor, just started using CeraVe skin renewing retinol serum in the purple bottle, really like it. After reading descriptions of both bottles, looks like the blue is for more oily skin, and I have normal to dry. Looking forward to your video to compare the two 🙂. I would like to try Skinscience Alpharet at some point, but CeraVe is really good, also love their cleansers.

I used Differin (responsibly and correctly), to help correct some issues with my skin. Because of my skins level of sensitivity my skin was not improving over time.
Then I discovered the CeraVe Resurfacing Serum and oh my god. This is the perfect formula for me. When I put it on a night I wake up feeling like a glowing goddess the next morning. I use it nightly, sometimes during the day depending on the condition of my skin. I check for low UV days and wear a good quality sunscreen with it. And I did also start bringing it down onto my neck, maximum twice a week. I see this formula correcting small skin concerns right away, as well as bigger concerns over long time usage. I hope they never take this formula off the shelves because they have got me on the hook with this one!
