This is due to Cerave sponsoring multiple dermatologists and estheticians so they just recommend Cerave.

I needed this comparison video! I was a bit confused by the 2 because even though they have different claims, they both seem VERY similar! Terrific video! I wonder if you tried contacting Cerave and asking them for the rerinol percentages of the 2? It's a legit customer service question. Any way, I agree with your pointing out that this seems more like a marketing situation, because any retinol should do everything claimed in both products. It sounds like both are nicely formulated though, and the skin-renewing one is supposed to target more mature customers with dryer skin interested in anti-aging ("new" in "renewing") and the skin-resurfacing one is supposed to appeal to younger customers with hyperpigmentation, oilier skin with enlarged pores, etc.

I have used both, mostly to maintain my acne and for anti aging benefits. I have found renewing retinol was good on thin layers like my neck, chest, and back of my hands. The resurfacing one was too hard for those areas but it worked well for my face. That is just my skin type but I hope that helps because on paper they are almost identical which is so confusing 😂
Thank you. For your insight. I want to use both daily. One in the morning and one in the evening, and I am wondering will that be an issue for my skin?

My derm recommended the blue Resurfacing for me, even though I am very mature. I think she did this because I had just had her extract a closed comedone. I would probably have gone for the purple Renewing otherwise. They do have a Skin Renewing Night Cream as part of the purple series, and I think I am going to use that over the resurfacing for the anti-aging benefits. I really don't want to spring for both, but I probably should.
I never used Tretinoin but I have used adapalene prescribed by a dermatologist and I don’t member having any irritation but I can no longer afford those products so hopefully this will do me some good without breaking my bank so I can have skin like you because your skin is gorgeous

I do have the Cerave PM, but I'm gonna try not using it as it does give me oily look on the forehead. Will reincorporate it if this new routine i'm on is good. AM is only Cleanse and Moisturize.
Abbey... THANK YOU !! for do the research for us! for done the "job" for us!! Always great reviews!! 👏👍👌 (btw.. you skin looks gorgeous!! Even with out makeup! :)
Of course! And thank you 😊♥️
I Always Love Reviews!
😊
Thank you! I found this video after searching for this exact information. I recently bought the skin renewing because at 32, I feel like I’m starting to age. But I was torn between the two products. My decision ended up being based on the price! I’ve been using it nightly without any reaction at all, so far. Again, thank you!
Happy to help!
The purple one says you can wear it twice a day, the blue one says wear it once a day. So I’m assuming that there is a lesser concentration in the purple one
i use the blue twice ah day though.Shouldnt i b
I guess I will choose the purple one since it seems it is more for anti-aging. Still not certain though.
Thank you so much for this.
Of course!
This was genuinely so helpful! Thank you so much!
Hey Abby how to Use retinol serum glad to hear your answer❤️
Giiiiiiiirl...!!!?? Didn’t we JUST congratulate you on 20K subscribers??? You are on fire!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 congrats 🥳
Thank you so much!!! 😊♥️
I have the blue one and love it !!! 💙
I just love your channel. I bet you hit 100k followers quickly! 😊
Awww thank you so much ♥️
Thank you for making this video and providing so much background information so I can decide which to buy 🥰
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
I have used both, mostly to maintain my acne and for anti aging benefits. I have found renewing retinol was good on thin layers like my neck, chest, and back of my hands. The resurfacing one was too hard for those areas but it worked well for my face. That is just my skin type but I hope that helps because on paper they are almost identical which is so confusing 😂
So helpful to know! Thanks for sharing this 😊
Thank you. For your insight. I want to use both daily. One in the morning and one in the evening, and I am wondering will that be an issue for my skin?
I been using the purple one, ran out and decided to buy the Blue acne one and it have me acne! 😅!
I use the renewing one on my neck. My neck does not tolerate tretinoin at all!!! I love it.
Yesss so good for the neck!
Loving your skin care videos!! Will you be making any more of the real time workout videos? I've still been doing your older ones lol!
Thanks! I don’t think so right now 😕 it’s so much work for me to do them & they don’t get the views so the interest is just not there like it is for my other videos
The purple night cream is amazing. Worth the money to me.
CeraVe skin Renewing retinol says to use 1-2x daily while the Resurfacing retinol says once daily. So perhaps the Resurfacing is stronger?
You should check out the Retinol serum from Urban Skin rx!! The ingredients look great and it’s a black owned brand
I’ll look into it!
You look kind of look like Murphy from Grey’s Anatomy !! So pretty! Also thank you for this video it’s exactly what I was looking for haha
Yesssss I agree
Jesus loves you and he wants you to be saved through repentance and accepting him as your Lord and Savior
I never used Tretinoin but I have used adapalene prescribed by a dermatologist and I don’t member having any irritation but I can no longer afford those products so hopefully this will do me some good without breaking my bank so I can have skin like you because your skin is gorgeous
please do a review on trader joe's skincare!
It’s on my list to look into 😊
Their eye cream burned my eyes :/
But what if I struggle with fine lines AND acne? :( (Thanks adult acne. )
Maybe start with one and then if that goes well add in the 2nd one to alternate between or just switch to.
See a dermatologist. I had adult acne in my late 20's & he said it's a bacterial infection that needed to be treated with antibiotics (Erythromycin 500mg) and advised PanOxyl 5% soap (avail at Walmart, Target, Walgreens & CVS) My adult acne cleared up but my daughter has it now in her late 20's & refuses to see a Dermatologist.
Abbey, have to just say your hair is looking so beautiful, thanks for the review, wish we could get more of the Cerave products that you review here in Aus, also with covid its so impossible to get online too...love your videos
thank you so much! ugh bummer
I use the blue one, I think I got it after watching another lady who said it was good. Lol. She was older and seemed to know stuff. Then you spoke about it briefly too and it I felt it was meant to be. My face does look nicer but I think I’ll try the purple one next and see if I see a difference. Thanks!!
Keep us posted 😊
How did it go
@@BattleAngel20 I do feel like I look better and my face does feel nicer. I recently switched to the purple one and it feels the same too. I am pretty happy since my face feels nicer and looks healthier.
@@shopaholiclivin so was your experience with the purple one different in any way from the blue one?
I looked on the cerave site. NOT ALL PRODUCTS HAVE NIACINIMIDE. The hydrating cleanser, lotion/body cream, renewal day cream, and such do not indicate niacinimide. However such products do such as foaming wash, renewing serum, renewing night cream, and SA cleanser.
Great job in your explanation. All true
I really prefer to know if they are effective with the claims instead of the amount of active.
I just got the resurfacing retinol serum to hope and get rid of my acne marks or scars . I use to break out bad in my teens to 22 .
I hope it helps!
@@AbbeyYung Same ! Do you use this only at night or in the morning before the day?
Nighttime only!
@@AbbeyYung thanks ! Left a like an sub 😉
how did it go?
Her make up is amazing
The cerave skin resurfacing retinol serum paired with elf happy hydration is *amazing* for my nasty, oily skin, 100% recommend trying it ❤
Thank you for this video you helped me discovered that my mom has sun spots on her skin but which retinol would be good for the area on her hands
Happy to help! Either works. I’ve used both
renewing serum does have niacinimide. the renewing day cream is not including niacinimide. According to the cerave site
Thank you, Abbey, for another great video!! I use and love Cerave products.
Of course 😊♥️
Great video👍
😊♥️
So do we use Hyaluronic acid with both ?
I have been using the purple one for quite some time now - no issues. Can't decide if I should try the blue one... I wondered what might happen if I alternate each night between the two?
I am turned off by them not mentioning how much Retinol % is in it.
What $16.99....this side of East Africa it costs $33-38 depending on the seller :(
Plz tell what lip colour/ product u are wearing. Looks so nice.
IS IT NORMAL I NOTICED AFTER FEW DAYS OF USING THIS LOOKS LIKE MY FACE GOT TIGHT ,DRY AND STARTS TO PEEL OFF
Yes
@@sharaelahi823 i just Stopped. it. now. the SERUM HLA is way better for me
Okay this is a weird question but what nail color are you wearing? It’s gorgeous!
Very good presentation! Very beautiful young woman!
Well I believe I bought the wrong one 🙃
Very helpful video. All I want to know is in this video. You are the best. Thank you! Love from Viet Nam.
Hi Abbey! Can this products be used for the eye area? :)
Yes!
Good question. Do we also apply moisturizer on eyelids and under eye?
Thanks are both good for acne-prone skin?
Hi. I just found ur channel n I love it. Very informative. Could both of these retinol products be used together at nighttime? Or how would you incorporate both of these products? Thanks!
So glad! 😊 and no I would just use one. There’s no need to use both!
I think the renewing one has more retinol since it looks more yellow lol
You are stunning.
Thank you!
Tried using the blue one at night on my lips because i have dark lips (not smoker) and for days it became lighter with use of vit c in the morning same routine for my face
I love these types of videos :))
So glad 😊
