I agree with you Treb. I mean in the sims 2, EVERY DAMN TIME I want to leave my god damn house I needed to have a loading screen, which by the way, took me 5 minutes to wait for. The Sims 3 may take me 10 minutes to load but at least afterwards, I can finally play all I want with not even 1 minute of loading. Sure when I move, it takes long. But surprisingly yesterday, I moved to Midnight Hollow and the loading screen was like really fast. Took me 2 minutes instead of 20. xD
*You know these small things that made this game one of the best franchise ever.. and makes the sims 4 look completely pathetic* smh i really wish they didn't make the mistakes they did when making the sims 4... its because of that i lost interest. and that makes me really upset..
I think if sims 4 has open world like sims 3, that will be great as well. The gameplay for dine out and get to work are great, but it makes me lazy to travel everywhere because of the loading screen.
And in Sunset Valley, there's a sim named Claire Ursine which is a little nod to Claire the Bear in Sims 1. In Sims 1, she would go into Sims' houses and look through their things and if you had a beehive in the yard, she'd steal the honey.
"Universal Lobby, Sims 3 Supernatural Map View" is still my all time fave Sims Tune. I forgot how much I absolutely love Sims 3. Thank you so much for sharing all these.
CATwoman 1 I don't know if there is something similar in the English version, but in the Finnish version of the Sims 3 one of the books' names is a clear reference to Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone! :)
In the Sims 2, there is a neighborhood called Pleasentview, in the Sims 3, there is a book called Murder In Pleasentview Edit:I knew the mine would be in this video, my sim lives close to it, he likes taking the gems and metals there
In the Sims 4, there’s a movie called “Moonlight Massacre”. Could this be related to the Sims 3? Edit: it’s probably a reference to the town, Moonlight Falls.
In supernatural, if a witch magics a wardrobe so you magical adventures inside, you end up into a snowy forest and an ice lady offers you candy that was morphed in the snow. This is a reference to Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. You follow other scenes that are in the movie as well. :)
idk if it is a secret, but if you use the Tardis in sims 3 supernatural too much, it can have many affects, including one of my sims turning tragic clown. It was cool at first, but then all of my sims became depressed and the clown turned sim was always falling.
There's also a bonus you can buy with these Happiness points (idk what they're name is xD) it's for Vampires. If you buy it, your Vampire doesn't burn at the touch of light anymore, but it sparkles xD What might that be a reference to ? xD
In the neighborhood Moonlight Falls from the expansion pack Supernatural you'll find the sims Chester and Bailey Swain, who are a reference to Bella Swan and her dad. Even the household description matches the setting of the first book. And the beach area of the city is called "La Shove" as a reference to the beach in the Twilight books, which is called "La Push".
Also, in the town that comes with the supernatural expansion (is it called Moonlight falls?), there's a household consisting of 3 roomates: a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire, which I believe is a reference to the show "Being Human".
The Sims 3 was great for playing in an ever extending story, I loved the open world and the story progression. It really rooted your sims into the world, if your sim was a politician, he'd have politician friends, have to organize fundraisers etc. they would live the life of a politician among people who individually lived their own lives. There was so much happening at once! I know it's not a great experience for everyone and it certainly doesn't look as polished as the sims 4 but I personally could never transition into ts4.
I think if you have TS3 Pets at random times there's a unicorn that appears in Sunset Valley in the faraway rocky lake right at the edge of town. Usually at dusk or night
This is a really, really awesome video. I didn't catch a fraction of these. My one criticism is that the white rabbit is not from the animated Disney film per se, but it is from the actual book series Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The white rabbit and "going through the rabbit hole" is a very common theme in modern pop culture, which supersedes any one book or movie or show.
Shelby Gossett Oh my gosh, I've seen that item so many times and never made the connection -- Which is funny because I love both The Sims and It's Always Sunny.
There is also a reference from Disney: The Little Mermaid from Sims 3 Island Paradise. When you explore a cave underwater, your sim will sometimes say a line from the famous song “Part of your world” “How many wonders can one cavern hold?”
Also in sims 3 into the future there is a reference to Doctor who. A popular BBC/ British tv show about time traveling. 2 sims referencing Amy Pond and Rory Williams can be seen in the town that your sim travels through.
I believe there's a woman named Ella Carlisle in Hidden Springs who refers to the story of Cinderella. She lived with a mother and two sisters that don't like her.
Don Lothario and the Caliente sisters are also in the Sims 4 in the Oasis Springs neighborhood. In that, he has commitment issues and he's a personal trainer. Thought that was a weird contrast from him living in the barn in Riverview.
Yes, and I believe the first one is reference to Friday The 13th the movie (the mask and the horror mood). Then Black swan and Gladiator, and then Iron Man, some old horror movie shure reference, but I couldn't get and skyline, obvious in the end.
Another good place to look for references to other games and films is inside the wardrobes that came with Supernatural. If you get a witch to magically upgrade them then Sims can jump in and go on adventures. I remember that one of the adventures takes you into the world of PORTAL. Also, in Oasis Landing there is a family that is a spoof of the Jetsons cartoon.
I am a 32 year old mom addicted to TS3! I do all of my domestic and mommy's and schollar dutties and I really need to play the sims at least 1 or 2 hours a day LOL I love TS3!
I completely agree. I am a huge TS3 fan. I try to play the sims 4 but stopped just before the university pack because the lack of gameplay in that game is atrocious compared to TS3.

There's another two references (That I know of) In Into The Future, there's a couple resembling the characters Amy & Rory Pond from Doctor Who, and several characters with the last name Banister, such as Jamie Banister, a GOT reference I believe.
I have a Sims 4 easter egg to tell! If you have ever played Minecraft, there is this block in the Nether, or, Hell Biome, called Glowstone. The block emits light, and is usually found on the walls/ceilings of the hellish place. In the fourth game of The Sims series, there is a wall lamp called Glowstone Lamp, and its description reads: 'Luminescent stone from the depths of the earth! Ponder it's mysterious origins and geochemical makeup while brushing your teeth!' Glowstone is a Luminescent stone in Minecraft Hell, and where is Hell most usually theorized to be by the religious? Underground, near the earth's core. I am surprised nobody thought of this!
In the Sims 2 there is a sculpture called "Milo Venus". The exactly same sculpture also appears in the Sims 3 but there it is called "Medusa Victim". Did you ever wonder why that name was changed? Now here is a possible explanation for that: There was a modded object for the Sims 2 called the "Sculpture Manufactory" hosted at MTS. One of the sculptures that could be crafted by your Sim with this Sculpture Manufactory Mod was a Medusa sculpture. And the credits of the mod mentioned that - while the body of Medusa and all the other sculptures were new creations by the modder - the head of Medusa had been taken and modified from the original Milo Venus. So I suppose when the developers decided to add sculpturing to the Sims 3 they did refer to the Milo Venus sculpture having fallen "victim" to serve as Medusas head with the mod sculpture. If you compare the Sims 2 mod and the Sims 3 EA sculpturing animations you will notice that - although those of EA are of course done more professionally and refined - there are a lot of similarities in sims postures and movements during the process. So it seems the developers got inspired by the mod - like they did in several other cases of Sims 2 mods too - and when they implemented the feature into Sims 3 they just thought it was amusing to point to the origin of their idea.
In Supernatural, Moonlight Falls holds a family of three witches. Clearly a nod to the TV show Charmed (the old version from the late 90s, not the current version that I believe began in 2018).
I love going back in some of my favorite youtubers videos and just seeing the low quality mic and slight awkwardness, especially compared to the improvement later on. Onlyabidoang has come a long way since 2016, and it's epic.
Oh my god- I never knew about the Portal and Futurama references! That's amazing! I'd seen Gladys around before, and drew the connection, but I'd always thought it was just a coincidence. That's fucking awesome!
I mean,in the game, Chell never happens to encounter P-Body, so it wouldn't make sense. But having "Gladys" living with her doesn't make sense either, as she doesn't have a robot body that small. (I never finished Portal 2 so don't blame me okay) EDIT: Also Chell and Glados are mostly sworn enemies so yeah.
Wowwww, the creator of the sims games should give you award for appreciated every inch their job creating this game..!! I love you video so much !!!❤❤🥰

My favorite Sims 3 easter egg is, sometimes, during the Summer Festival, Luke Bryan's Country Girl (Shake it for Me Girl) can be heard at the park playing over the radio.
In the "into the future" expansion pack when tuning up a plumbot, the tool you use closely resembles a sonicscrewdriver from the show Doctor Who. A show about a Alien time traveler
there's an archway called the "No Surprises Please Archway" which is a reference to the Radiohead song No Surprises; the description ends with saying "You'll have such a pretty house with no alarms and no surprises".
I feel like the people working on The Sims 4 no longer (if they ever did) have any passion for the series anymore, and are just looking for a paycheck. I might be off-base; for all I know TS4's issues and missing features might be pressure from EA and the devs dislike the situation as much as we do, but that's genuinely the impression I get. For all the things I wish returned from 2 and issues I have with its confused chronology, TS3 still feels like the last game made by people who enjoyed the series and wanted to make it better.
@@LonelySpaceDetective yes, they just don't have the 'heart' of the previous games. . if you look at Sims 2 for the first time, it seems limited since you only get to play a household and can only load one lot at a time. But once you play it, you'll never be bored. Transitioning from Sims 2, Sims 3 feels magical. Just walking (or driving) around and finding weird plants to harvest outside of a school building is very novel. Then you see that they are adding new or well-thoughtout mechanics like gathering materials for an invention, family-oriented stuff (except for the imaginary friend - i hate it), islands, underwater, boats that really gets you somewhere, LOOTING FOR TREASURES (that you can interact with), etc. Then we have Sims 4. It's sad. They are adding (I can see that some employees are really trying their best but I guess their ideas doesn't fully make the cut) features but it's bland. It's like chewing different looking dishes but they all tasteless and textureless.
I love the time machine in sims 3!! I mean the rabbit hole one. My sim came back with a little boy she had rescued and he became her son. That was so awesome!!
There's a family in Oasis that are a reference to Doctor Who, a popular sci-fi show about a time traveling alien. The family consists of three members. Rory, his daughter Melody, and a toddler named Amy. If you look at their family tree the toddler is shown as Melody's mother. In the actual show, Rory and Amy lost their daughter to villains who wanted her for her Time Lord abilities. But Melody escaped and upon her death, regenerated, and went back in time to be raised alongside her parents.
I had the game MySims a few years ago, but when we moved from Florida to Michigan, it disappeared somewhere, but I LOVED that game. I had a bee outfit on, and I would do the minigames for hours!. Then, 3 years ago, in Michigan, at my Public Library, there is a video game section. I got Sims 2 Castaway. It was okay... I enjoyed trying to see what animals I could tame, I don't think any where tameable, but I got bored of it 2 weeks later after I started getting into difficult gameplay stuff.
This is so cool! ^_^ Love that your humour still infuses the voice-over episodes! I knew about less than half of these easter eggs. :P Can't wait for a possible part 2 ;)

+X acot Actually I uses nraas mods such as overwatch, errortrap etc. to make the game smoother.
onlyabidoang Does your Sims 3 Crash?
+X acot nope
In Oasis Landing theres also a household called Kenobi in the dried up ocean. the old man that lives there is named Ben. its a star wars reference
Sims 3 is pretty awesome :) It's too bad it takes so long to load once you get a lot of expansions pack (atleast on my poopy laptop it does)
Nebby I have most of the expansions, stuff packs and also mods and custom content and I have no loading issues , maybe you should consider upgrading?
Nebby same
Nebby THEESE all and more are in the sims wikia
I rather wait an hour to enter the game, then have to see a loading screen everytime I want to leave my lot like the sims 2.
Took me 2 minutes instead of 20. xD
Wow! Less than 2 weeks and this video already got a hundred thousand views?! Thank you so much guys!!
onlyabidoang where are you from??

This game has been out for ages and I still find new things to do. I feel like I have done everything there is with The Sims 4 and grow bored quickly.
*You know these small things that made this game one of the best franchise ever.. and makes the sims 4 look completely pathetic* smh i really wish they didn't make the mistakes they did when making the sims 4... its because of that i lost interest. and that makes me really upset..
you can still play the sims 3! just because new expansions and stuff art coming out anymore its still the best came ever made :)
iSevenSimmer sims 4 is confusing and way too cartoony
I think if sims 4 has open world like sims 3, that will be great as well. The gameplay for dine out and get to work are great, but it makes me lazy to travel everywhere because of the loading screen.
Exactly..
iSevenSimmer hopefully they'll add them
And in Sunset Valley, there's a sim named Claire Ursine which is a little nod to Claire the Bear in Sims 1.
In the book titles, Children's genre, there is a book titled "Lord of the Swings"', a reference to the Lord of the Rings books by J.R.R.Tolkien. :)
CATwoman 1 I don't know if there is something similar in the English version, but in the Finnish version of the Sims 3 one of the books' names is a clear reference to Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone! :)
+CATwoman 1 I think that's from The Sims 4
CATwoman 1 sims 4 mate
"The Silence of the Llamas" was my favourite sneaky reference :)
Kacrium K.
This reference was in polish version, too!
In TS3, when vampires use the skating rink, they don't put on skates. Instead, they do the ultra fast run thing.
In the Sims 2, there is a neighborhood called Pleasentview, in the Sims 3, there is a book called Murder In Pleasentview
Edit:I knew the mine would be in this video, my sim lives close to it, he likes taking the gems and metals there
In the Sims 4, there’s a movie called “Moonlight Massacre”. Could this be related to the Sims 3?
Edit: it’s probably a reference to the town, Moonlight Falls.
@jazmin future gnome is not plastic and made out metallic circuit
In supernatural, if a witch magics a wardrobe so you magical adventures inside, you end up into a snowy forest and an ice lady offers you candy that was morphed in the snow. This is a reference to Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. You follow other scenes that are in the movie as well. :)
idk if it is a secret, but if you use the Tardis in sims 3 supernatural too much, it can have many affects, including one of my sims turning tragic clown. It was cool at first, but then all of my sims became depressed and the clown turned sim was always falling.
well thats...interesting
One of my sims have a child with a lady from the past. kinda cool but make my game hard to manage because my household already has 5 sims
The tardis.. well that's a nice reference there 😂
THE Mariah Rodriguez
Lmao poor you ;-;
Mariah The Sloth Queen Ikr I wasted so much time trying to make a cure exiler (not sure if that's how you spell it) XD
OMG
I have missed a lot of game play in sims 3. Although I don't have all expansions. BUT this has me excited to revisit the sims 3!
Susanne Schmidt twilight
Its called immortal
Lifetime Happiness
I'm playing this game for so long and i saw a lot of easter eggs in this video that i never noticed before! Thank you for posting this video ❤💕
+Damiano Iacopetta no probs!
0:59 i tried this with the school in Monte Vista, but instead of a us map, its a map of italy, i think that’s a neat detail
His accent is so cute
TourGuide he's from Indonesia though
Indonesian accent
Not really
@@xnathxx-d8i it does not mean what you think it means
I think if you have TS3 Pets at random times there's a unicorn that appears in Sunset Valley in the faraway rocky lake right at the edge of town. Usually at dusk or night
This is a really, really awesome video. I didn't catch a fraction of these. My one criticism is that the white rabbit is not from the animated Disney film per se, but it is from the actual book series Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The white rabbit and "going through the rabbit hole" is a very common theme in modern pop culture, which supersedes any one book or movie or show.
There's also a table in TS3 LN called Paddys Irish Pub Stand which is a reference to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Shelby Gossett Oh my gosh, I've seen that item so many times and never made the connection -- Which is funny because I love both The Sims and It's Always Sunny.
Amber Lynn 0
Shelby Gossett *cough cough* not true *cough cough*
There is also a reference from Disney: The Little Mermaid from Sims 3 Island Paradise. When you explore a cave underwater, your sim will sometimes say a line from the famous song “Part of your world” “How many wonders can one cavern hold?”
Also in sims 3 into the future there is a reference to Doctor who. A popular BBC/ British tv show about time traveling. 2 sims referencing Amy Pond and Rory Williams can be seen in the town that your sim travels through.
Ashlea Queen and they have a child names melody I'm pretty sure
Ah shoot I wish I'd seen this comment before I wrote mine XD
2:05 just a random blue child passing by
i always come back to this video when i'm bored. i don't know why, i just really love this.
I believe there's a woman named Ella Carlisle in Hidden Springs who refers to the story of Cinderella. She lived with a mother and two sisters that don't like her.
OMG THERES A PORTAL REFERENCE IM LITERALLY BUYING INTO THE FUTURE JUST FOR THIS
heyimdaph how is it
pretty fun actually lol I played as the household and it was pretty easy and I built a wheatley
Good timing! I'm playing Sims 3 supernatural right now. Also, gosh your English accent is so Indonesian just like me.
Wow my accent can still be heard? lol
@@onlyabidoang kedengaran banget bro aksennya
Don Lothario and the Caliente sisters are also in the Sims 4 in the Oasis Springs neighborhood. In that, he has commitment issues and he's a personal trainer. Thought that was a weird contrast from him living in the barn in Riverview.
14:20 isn't that also the poster of the film called ' gladiator' ?
+Katja Bosters nooo missed another one D:
Yes, and I believe the first one is reference to Friday The 13th the movie (the mask and the horror mood). Then Black swan and Gladiator, and then Iron Man, some old horror movie shure reference, but I couldn't get and skyline, obvious in the end.
in the sims3 supernatural there is a tattoo referencing the Illuminati
johnny vaughan holy moly it’s been comfirmed
There's a pyramid desk lamp too.
I do all of my domestic and mommy's and schollar dutties and I really need to play the sims at least 1 or 2 hours a day LOL
I love TS3!
I completely agree. I am a huge TS3 fan. I try to play the sims 4 but stopped just before the university pack because the lack of gameplay in that game is atrocious compared to TS3.
@@blameitondanny ohhhm, now, one year later, I become a TS4 fan hehehehe But I found in my archives in computer the instalation setup of TS3 - my computer now don't have the GB that the game needs, I unnistall TS3 last year...sad, very sad! sorry the bad english! I'm learning!
@@gidanmed I can't play TS4 without mods. At least to give the game some story progression instead of the townie slowly been replaced by stranger 😅
@@blameitondanny me too!!!! I have 87767 mods in my game heheheheheheheheh mods ad infinitum
@@gidanmed I only need less than 5 mods for sims 3. All of them are Nraas mods. Although the only reason I play TS4 is because I like decorating sims houses and TS4 had so much potential with decorating department.
I had the Sims 4 ad before this

EA: Why not buy *The Sims 4*?
Because fuck EA. ;)

There's another two references (That I know of) In Into The Future, there's a couple resembling the characters Amy & Rory Pond from Doctor Who, and several characters with the last name Banister, such as Jamie Banister, a GOT reference I believe.
Lannister? Jamie Lannister.
Ponder it's mysterious origins and geochemical makeup while brushing your teeth!'
Glowstone is a Luminescent stone in Minecraft Hell, and where is Hell most usually theorized to be by the religious? Underground, near the earth's core.
I am surprised nobody thought of this!
Cool! I love minecraft!
Ehhhhhhh...
Sort of.. I don't think they were aiming towards Minecraft, though.
I dont think it's a reference to minecraft honestly.. ;;;; sims usually don't reference newer games as older generations make it.
Duckily ART but when sims 3 1st game came out the same year as minecraft
Genderfluid Anonymous Great one 🤔🤔
If you compare the Sims 2 mod and the Sims 3 EA sculpturing animations you will notice that - although those of EA are of course done more professionally and refined - there are a lot of similarities in sims postures and movements during the
process. So it seems the developers got inspired by the mod - like they did in several other cases of Sims 2 mods too - and when they implemented the feature into Sims 3 they just thought it was amusing to point to the origin of their idea.
Oh god, I have never been so early. Your voice is amazing, as well as your videos. Your amazing, keep it up!
thanks so much!
In the Sime 3 Supernatural, when you hide your sim in some wardrobes he can go to Narnia.
The open world's keep me playing the sims 3 over the sims 4
In Supernatural, Moonlight Falls holds a family of three witches. Clearly a nod to the TV show Charmed (the old version from the late 90s, not the current version that I believe began in 2018).
I love going back in some of my favorite youtubers videos and just seeing the low quality mic and slight awkwardness, especially compared to the improvement later on. Onlyabidoang has come a long way since 2016, and it's epic.
"Sims 2 took place 50 years *after* Sims 3..."
WTF!?!?!?
??????????????
In Sims 3 Bella Goth is a child and is still called Bella Bachelor. In Sims 2 she's a grown up to begin with.
I thought it was 25 years
@@elinsulin it has to be because Bella is an Adult and not a Senior, or am i mistaken
@@LPMisa No, it's canon that the sims 2 takes place 25 years after the sims 3
It's wonderful someone still makes TS3 videos. Thanks, man! A little bit of nostalgia is very welcome. =D
Very cool! I didn't know most of these!!
I did not know most either
I remember going to the future and seeing futurama sims and I thought it was so cool. I never knew they had a portal refrence? Gosh I love the sims 3.
8:43 The Sims 3 University Life's school cheer is the same as The Sims 2 University's school cheer!
idk if this is weird or not but i already knew almost all of these, lmao i used to be obsessed with sims! :D
im kinda suprised there werent any doctor who references with either of the time machines!
Oh my god- I never knew about the Portal and Futurama references! That's amazing!
I'd seen Gladys around before, and drew the connection, but I'd always thought it was just a coincidence. That's fucking awesome!
There's also a sim in sunset valley referencing Tobias Funke from Arrested Development who has the never nude trait lol!
1:45 why is this so hilarious XDDD TRAGIC CLOWNFISH BGDHDHSJDHKWB
Oh my god I love the Chelsea + Gladys PORTAL reference!!!
Joey Wild me too
so do I!
but I think the robot should've been p-body instead. it suits the design more than glados.
Praecantetia Sure, but Glados is a more prominent character
+Joey Wild plus they both are enemies which makes more sense
I mean,in the game, Chell never happens to encounter P-Body, so it wouldn't make sense. But having "Gladys" living with her doesn't make sense either, as she doesn't have a robot body that small. (I never finished Portal 2 so don't blame me okay) EDIT: Also Chell and Glados are mostly sworn enemies so yeah.
Wowwww, the creator of the sims games should give you award for appreciated every inch their job creating this game..!! I love you video so much !!!❤❤🥰
Man this really makes me wanna download sims 3 again

Please do another video like this but about the Sims 2, I love Easter eggs and all that stuff
I've played Sims 3 for hundreads of hours and yet knew only 8 of those. Really great video!
This is actually really cool :D I didn't know about most of these.
Since I played The Sims FreePlay I cant help but think of it whenever I hear some of the voices or music/sound effects.
In the sim 3 university, there are two sims who resembles Sheldon and Leonard from the Big Bang theory.
there's an archway called the "No Surprises Please Archway" which is a reference to the Radiohead song No Surprises; the description ends with saying "You'll have such a pretty house with no alarms and no surprises".
I love how the Sims lore thrived during Sims 1 - Sims 3 . . what happened to Sims 4? 😔
Wow! Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad exists in this game? These are my fav show and game.
I just discovered this channel and now I can't stop watching your vids😍😍
There's a family in Oasis that are a reference to Doctor Who, a popular sci-fi show about a time traveling alien. The family consists of three members. Rory, his daughter Melody, and a toddler named Amy. If you look at their family tree the toddler is shown as Melody's mother. In the actual show, Rory and Amy lost their daughter to villains who wanted her for her Time Lord abilities. But Melody escaped and upon her death, regenerated, and went back in time to be raised alongside her parents.
I luv the sims 3 background music
i dont know why its so freakin cool
The Sims 3 made with TLC (Tender Love Care) :')
2:04 blue child casually walks by.
This is so cool! ^_^ Love that your humour still infuses the voice-over episodes! I knew about less than half of these easter eggs. :P
Can't wait for a possible part 2 ;)
There is a grave in Roaring Heights(Resting Meadows) which contains Malcolm Landgraab.
the gnome thing blew my mind!!! a gnome family?! I had no idea! by the way youe videos are awesome, fantastic quality, plus they're funny and pleasant to watch

if you could make another 50 easter eggs from sims 3, or just trivia facts about Riverview, Bridgeport and sims living there, backstories, family trees... just putting it out there because i'd love to see you do it, that vid was pro, really entertaining
One of the shows on TV is Casablanca and on Cookin Cable there is a version of Iron Chef.
Oh fun fact, the Crumplebottom sisters in Moonlight Falls are a reference to the show Charmed. They even have names starting with the same letters, its just B not P.
