It's funny because five years ago, I would have gladly paid $225 for a device that could play GB/GBC/GBA/NES/Genesis/SNES so perfectly on a screen like this. So I think Anbernic's next project should be a time machine, where they can go back five years and make a killing. It would totally disrupt the retro handheld emulation timeline but I'm here for it
Congrats to you for the 150k subs 👏👍! And to people not following Russ and his WONDERFUL channel : what are you waiting for ? The man does the best retro guides on the entire UA-cam site :D
this is the best handheld for retro gaming, the 5 to 3 screen is the best compromise one could wish for. and play it with botacera linux only, the emus are awesome !
I just got my Ayn Odin in this week, and I absolutely love it! These emulation devices are pretty fun, and I should be set for a while, especially with dual boot coming soon for the Odin. Even having an Odin, these videos are still a lot of fun to watch!
The situation with emulation handhelds is honestly the best I've seen as we have stuff available is which generally all round excellent at varying price points. Want something affordable, get the RP2+ - you emulate up to Dreamcast near perfect for 100 bucks Want something more fancy, get a AYN Odin - you can emulate a good amount of PS2 and NGC along with good layout for streaming for you PS5/Series/PC Want something more premium - Get a Steam Deck - can emulate nearly everything and you have your PC games There's room for all three to exist, the likes of Anbernic who ruled the roost are in a rough position. They're getting muscled out from a power and price perspective.
I was going to complain that the shaky table distracted me, but then I saw your dad doing the Vessi commercial and that might be my favorite ad of yours yet! Plus we finally got to see your niece.
Legit one of the main reasons I see Wullf videos are the sponsors, he's the only one I've never skipped. And Papa Wullf is just yet another great point to the already good thing.
Honestly, if it falls on the fans to create their own firmwares to get the device to work as intended, then the state of portable emulators is just sad honestly. I get hardware should come first, but hardware means nothing if you can't use it properly.
It is unfortunate for sure, but far from a dealbreaker on my opinion, I've bought one of those RK3326 devices and it is pretty easy to flash a better custom firmware on a SD Card. Because those projects are opensource there is actually a plenty of custom firmwares to choose
Kind of feel like we're getting into the Brand love days of emulation. To my mind I keep going Retroid Retroid Retroid. I mean technically the Retroid pocket 2 will do anything I want to do. That new touch screen on the plus is great. Tunes via app, GBA Pokemon ROM hacks, SNES games, Sonic & Knuckles on Sega Genesis, even anime and Manga Via app if I really wanted.
The RP2+ is my favorite device in that size/form factor. I tried the Anbernic 351MP and I love the buttons and the feel of it but I ran in to an issue a few other people experienced where it crashes 9/10 times if you try to load up a custom firmware. Can't configure it, can't get the performance or user interface I want on it so even though it feels great and looks sharp, the RP2+ just works well and has great performanc.
Ordered the Odin Pro. It seems Ayn is one, if not the only brand that got it right. design, size, specs, support and price wise. Can't wait to get mine.
Ohhhmg you and your dad sound exactly the same! Love it I don't get how ppl can give Nintendo crap about the joy con drift while a lot of these systems use the same joysticks lol
I almost bought this device at the beginning of February as a birthday gift to myself, not knowing a ton about the recent emulation market. I held off because the price didn't thrill me. Less than a week later, a video of the AYN Odin dropped on my feed and I went with that. Seeing this video, I'm so glad I went the way I did.
I love my rg351p. Its robust, plays what I want it to, pocketable, good form factor, and nothing has upgraded enough for me yet that justifies paying out on new hardware. I will stick with what I have for now. If something comes out and emulates dreamcast and n64 great and hopefully ps2 going forward without tonnes of work and effort I might go for that. I like the odin but don't want to wait months for one in case something else comes out better. Truth is nothing has blown me aware. I love my rg351p. Its terrific!
I think once the Odin gets tuned properly or we get a sequel from AYN, that will probably be the handheld for me. The OneXPlayers have gotten to a point where they can play everything up to 6th gen and beyond with nice hardware, but they are over $1k. I think Odin can get there for a fraction of that price.
I agree on this. I just got my Odin pro yesterday and I love it. It could use some tweaking though in software. The Dock for one needs a lot of improvement but even if it does, I don't see me using it that much if at all.
I would love one of those Windows handhelds! They're literally my dreams coming true! However I just can't justify the outrageous prices! Some are $1300! Mind blowing. But I'm getting one eventually. Sooner or later I'm getting one :)
Classic Mega Man games are usually a great test for D pads. They introduced sliding in Mega Man 3 and you do it by pressing down and jump. If there is some sort of diagonal movement while moving horizontally you would die sliding into a hole after trying to jump. I'm always surprised by the amount of retro emulation devices that don't care about D pads given how important they are for retro gaming.
I hope you’re getting paid extra for the high production value of these sponsor spots. It’s refreshing having an interesting ad I don’t want to just skip through.
I will buy these shoes just becuase of Wulff Den Dad. He should do more cameos like Stan Lee. I like these things so much, but I don't want to carry more devices with me. I barely take my switch anywhere.
I SO want this concept fine tuned. The button layout, the hdmi out, the size, this is exactly what I want in a retro emulator device, and none of them have been able to give me what I'm looking for. Just give me this, polished, with a dedicated Switch-style dock, and I'll be set for a long, long time. I'm ready to throw my money at you, handheld manufacturers!
A solution for loading all the ROMs from the Micro SD Card is using an emulator frontend, that's how I run Drastic and Retroarch without having to use any annoying workaround
I should be getting the Ayn Odin Pro next month and I'll use that for anything 3D. For 2D stuff like GBA and SNES there are plenty of great options that just fit in a pocket and have nice controls. The Anbernic 280V is a little cutie and the 351MP I had some real problems with installing custom firmware that a few other people had that nobody in the community has been able to figure out BUT even with the stock firmware so the Retroid Pocket 2+ is my go to for that form factor even though the buttons and build quality isn't as nice as the Anbernic devices.
Stuck with my PsVita and PSP to emulate until I got my steam Deck today, thats now the king of portable emulation for me. I dont need it to fit in my pocket, just moveable with a bag and its amazing so far. Hopefully these $1-200 range devices can start to get better and more competetive.
My favorite handheld emulator is still the old GPD XD. It was good at everything it did. It felt good in the hands. The controls were mostly good (a little squishy feeling). Nothing has really come close to that for me, but I have not used an Ayn Odin.
It's funny because five years ago, I would have gladly paid $225 for a device that could play GB/GBC/GBA/NES/Genesis/SNES so perfectly on a screen like this. or just... idk... CHARGE LESS MONEY (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ
Bring it back to 1982, 1 year before the Famicom's release, cause chaos.
@@DJDanceClassic agreed
We need more of Papa Wulff he’s literally just Bob just crustier and better

The definition of wholesome
Your dad doing the ad was awesome. He needs to be in more stuff.
Seriously. Best promo ever. I actually didn't skip the ad like every other video I watch.
@@michaeljodon loll same
Now we know where Bob gets his chad genes from . We need more papa wulff content
Your ad with your dad was the best part 😆 both of you have a great sense of humor.
The juicer example had me rolling. 😂
"The target audience is nobody" 😅
Bruh
Taki! Love your stuff 👍
You are one of the only UA-camrs that I actually watch the baked in ads, you make some pure gold Bob, other channels could learn a lot from you 👍✌️
If Bob is gonna end up anything like his dad when he's older, we've got a lot to look forward to
WulffDAD sounds like a delight to chill with
Bob's dad is just Bob, but older
I loved his part in the ad
Your dad seems like a really chill guy.
You and your dad have the same voice and speak the same way. I already love him.
And the Oscar goes to Wulffdad!
Your dad is great.
I like you even more that you and your dad get along.
Loll Papa Wulff doing the ad was an absolute delight!

Want something simple and fun, get the Miyoo Mini
I was going to complain that the shaky table distracted me, but then I saw your dad doing the Vessi commercial and that might be my favorite ad of yours yet! Plus we finally got to see your niece.
1.) More papa Wulff. 2.) That second ad for Roman you snuck in there made me laugh more than it should have.
Legit one of the main reasons I see Wullf videos are the sponsors, he's the only one I've never skipped. And Papa Wullf is just yet another great point to the already good thing.
I didn't know how you were gonna keep up with your past ads.. Papa Wulff came in clutch!
Always love the creativity you bring to your ads. Here's an idea for the next one, just hear me out... Bring Papa Wulff in for the next Roman ad read!
Papa Wulff is a stud. Can see now where Wulff gets his humor.
Honestly, if it falls on the fans to create their own firmwares to get the device to work as intended, then the state of portable emulators is just sad honestly. I get hardware should come first, but hardware means nothing if you can't use it properly.

The main problem with the rg552 is that it doesn't even have good/competitive hardware (considering its price) to make up for the software issue.
Love the sponsor segment. Bobs dad is great
respect to dad! love it brother!
That ad was the most wholesome thing ever
Best sponsor plug, wholesome stuff :3
Damn what a good commercial. hahaha also it was so fun to see your dad. I can see where you get your humor. Love it.
The sponsor spot was great 🤣 I actually watched the whole thing
We love to see a good dad.

"But the Vodka is gone... don't tell your mother"
Your dad is amazing
Wow, you and your brother sound almost exactly like y'alls' pops...that's so awesome lol
that was the most wholesome sponsored bit ever omg
Great cameo from Dadden
bro i swear bob's dad talks exactly like him. It's like hearing two Bobs
Your Dad is so funny, absolute legend.
Bob’s dad stills the spotlight he was hilarious
Ohhhmg you and your dad sound exactly the same! Love it

Shout out to Bob’s dad strutting his stuff in the Sponsored Ad

The Odin is good, but since I'm in Canada I have to pay shipping and import fees. I might as well spend a bit extra and get a steam deck.
You and your dad sound so alike. 😄 I couldn't tell if he was talking or you were dubbing for him.
I have never seen a man rock a Hawaiian shirt and boonie hat that hard.
Wolf dad pulling through with that ad.
Classic Mega Man games are usually a great test for D pads. They introduced sliding in Mega Man 3 and you do it by pressing down and jump. Good advertisement, good dad
Papa Wulff is 71?! He looks unreal for that age!
More ads from Wulff Dad please, 11/10 old guy
I hope you’re getting paid extra for the high production value of these sponsor spots. It’s refreshing having an interesting ad I don’t want to just skip through.
We finally found out where Bob’s sense of humour comes from! I genuinely love the sponsor segments, and I ALWAYS skip them with other UA-camrs!
At this point i just watch Wulff den for the in show advertisements
I love your channel and twitch streams but man your sponsor spots are my favorite part....I never thought I would look forward to commercials
I will buy these shoes just becuase of Wulff Den Dad. He should do more cameos like Stan Lee.
I like these things so much, but I don't want to carry more devices with me. I barely take my switch anywhere.
Papa Wulff is hilarious, he's just an older Bob. Please make more content with him.
Like your sponsors, omg I love when you include your family! it really works! your dad is pretty great!
How can a dad be so dad-like?
Papa Wulff sounds so much like Bob (though honestly I guess that's the other way around >_
I need more Papa Wulff in my life 😄
Also Bob great video!

Holy crap. Bob dad sounds EXACTLY THE SAME AS BOB.
Your dad just got you a like lol, that ad was really good.
Didn't even skip your Vessi ad. Papa Wulff is super adorable!!
A solution for loading all the ROMs from the Micro SD Card is using an emulator frontend, that's how I run Drastic and Retroarch without having to use any annoying workaround
omg papa Wulff had the exact same voice as Bob
Papa Wulff has stronger energy then Wulff XD
Woo! Got here before the Nontendo Podcast is live 👏🏻
I love how your dad is as sassy as you are. Give that man his own show!
Seriously the best AD I have seen in a video, your dad killed it
Papa Wulff seems like such an OG. How did he raise such a silly billy?
Dude your dad is amazing and also he is just old you. Bravo!
I love your parents man.
I feel like I’m not doing your videos justice by watching them on my phone lmao. Gonna rewatch these when I get a 4K TV 😂
Best Vessi ad ever
I love waking up to a Wulff Den video
your dad seems cool as hell
pretty wild how you put yourself through a time machine to make an ad XD
best advertisment ive ever seen
I should be getting the Ayn Odin Pro next month and I'll use that for anything 3D. For 2D stuff like GBA and SNES there are plenty of great options that just fit in a pocket and have nice controls. Best shoe commercial I've ever seen. I'll buy
The ultimate way to put your Vessi's to the test!
A Wulff dad in a Wulff ad, ya love to see it. Going to be a wild day when there’s finally one of these devices that just works.
bro you sound literally just like your dad that is so cute
Now we know where bahb got his marketing creativity from lmao
Vessi for no messy! I like!
Bob Wulffs Dad wouldn't miss Valorant with the bois
Yo Bob your dad had me cracking up so hard hahaha
Your dad is great. Bring him along again. Thanks
Seeing your dad explains a lot. Lol totally radical dudes. 🤙
WulffDad has the same voice. Which is obvious but still really funny. He gives me Don Capone vibes.
Stuck with my PsVita and PSP to emulate until I got my steam Deck today, thats now the king of portable emulation for me. I dont need it to fit in my pocket, just moveable with a bag and its amazing so far. Hopefully these $1-200 range devices can start to get better and more competetive.
try to play some 90s arcade games in mame on your vita. you can't , 333 MHz won't you far
My favorite handheld emulator is still the old GPD XD. It was good at everything it did. It felt good in the hands. The controls were mostly good (a little squishy feeling). Nothing has really come close to that for me, but I have not used an Ayn Odin.
Yeah, the world needs another clamshell.
Hopefully GPD will eventually see the XP for the aberration that it is and get back to what they're good at.
I think, bless you and this is Great!
I’m happy with my Switch OLED, and iPad Pro!
‘Love you and your dad!
Your Dad is awesome
The part with your dad was surprisingly the best part of the video 😆
I like how growing old make us push 1 more "I'm old👴" jokes per hour each decade. Hence, the high quality of your dad's jokes in the ad !
