- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Composed by Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris
Recorded straight from game with Audacity on ASUS Xonar DGX sound card using WinUAE to emulate Amiga Paula OCS (MOS8364, 4 channels 8-bit PCM chip) sound.
Barry Leitch is worshipped as a God in Brazil, many gamers here grew up with Top Gear tunes.
So they must like Richard Joseph then?
This was not composed by Barry Leitch, was composed by Shaun Southern (one of the creators of the Game).
Barry only remixed some themes of this game in Top Gear
@@MugsyOnYtno, opening theme, las vegas and ending were composed by barry
@@Alexgsm1 What? No,Lotus 1 launched in 1990 and Top Gear in 1992,Barry wasn't involved in the Lotus franchise since the second game
@@Alexgsm1 And the originals themes of that songs that you mentioned were composed by Shaun
Track no.3 was amazing and remember me at the good old times with my best friends. Playing together After school at the 90's 😭
so good
Oh my god, I just remembered that this was my favorite song too.
It was such a nostalgic flashback, I cried.
So true
Yup, track #3 was a definite favorite 🤩
Now go to Brazil, and surprise everyone by showing them how track 4 from Top Gear 1 is track 3 from Lotus 1.
That Magnetic Fields opening got me every time. Stunning.
Yeah, I remember it being downright intimidating to my 8-year old self.
I love Barry Leitch
and these versions is better than in Top Gear
0:20 intro
0:33 Opening
3:17 Track 01
5:07 Track 02
6:54 Track 03
9:17 Track 04
The music in this one's by Shaun Southern and Andrew Morris. In Top Gear, Southern's credited for "Bordeaux" (remix of Opening), "Frankfurt" (Track 03), and "Hiroshima" (Track 04).
Barry Leitch's original pieces ("Title", "Las Vegas", "Ending Theme", "Qualify Theme") and his rearrangements of Southern's pieces in Top Gear are mind-blowingly good! Thanks for the timestamps!
@@HayTatsuko Never knew that, talented bastard!
Fun fact: the track 3 was the song bleeding fingers from horizon chase and horizon was inspired by this song to :)
This is the top gear song I most liked!! I didn't know was even older from other game, this version sounds so cool too
I used to play this almost obsessively as a kid. I still remember the day my dad challenged me to beat him at this. I had a broken wrist, I still won. Then he asked why I was playing with my other hand...
had to go to A&E after that!
2024! Almost 30 years ago I played this game! Track number 4 did it for me
I'm so glad Track 3 is seeing so much appreciation in the comments!
Back then it was a standard move, to have this track set, before playing.
It was so energizing.
I actually put these on to a d90 cassette and listened to em in my mum and dad's car!!
Ahh te lata 90 i granie przy amidze w lotusa świetne czasy a jakie wspomnienia :)
a remixed version track 3 is featured on Horizon Chase Turbo now, called "Bleeding fingers" loved this version so much back in the day! great video
It's also in the track "Race 12: The Last Hurrah of a Video Game Composer" from the same game.
UA-cam is awesome for this type of thing and so are you for bothering to post it!
I loved this tune so much, I got my friend to put it on Tape Cassette for me!
I think i was 10-11 year old.
Thanks for posting.
Bass was always slapping hard 💪🏽☝🏾
It's good to hear these original pieces that went on to help fuel Top Gear's OST with Barry Leitch's re-arrangements.
track 3 at 6:55
brings back old memories...
The BEST theme!
i dont know the word/meaning in English, but in german its called: "Ohrwurm"....If i listen to that song, its wont leave my head! The whole day long, even if im aslept, i hear that song in my dreams!!
its crazy!
..."Casser du shleux !"...
@@Knebebelmeyer It's called earworm in English.
@@digad42 wtf...
OMG! It sounds amazing!!!
Many tanks for posting! :)
Still better than most car music compilations on YT
Put some atoms of genius, some of creativity, some atoms of good taste.
You just made your average amiga soundtrack composing person
i love 3rd music track and this game too thank you very much 😉
o brasil ama esse compositor !
Barry Leitch é incrivel
1:50 My favorite few seconds of this soundtrack right there. OMG, the memories. I played this game a lot when I was, so much younger than I am today. Hard level lotus legend by the way, though I really don't know if that is impressive or not, but I'll happily just choose to believe it is. Thanks for the great times to those who made this game possible!
This game's music was all written by McMullan & Low at the request of Gremlin Graphics. Barry Leitch came on board for Lotus 2.
Thanks for the info. I was confused with Top Gear for SNES soundtrack which is pretty much the same. I already changed the description.
Amiga had some great tracks, my God
I Agree.
kudos for keepin the crack and unpack ; i miss these in my totally legally owned PC games :)
The intro of the main theme sounds like a really cool bass line.
Never gets too 'old' (aged). In that matter it's maybe even 'better' than the sequels. The title track is baked / and flowing in my mind with any detail 'till the end of days.. .
How many memories...thanks to share
Track 3 is simply amazing!!
respawns good memorys, thanks a lot^^
I used to love pc lotus while my friends top gear on snes during mid 90s and after all these years I find out they actually have the same roots. God I miss those days and those friends☺️
God, I'm getting lost in this extensive soundtrack. Number 3 (6:54) still seems obviously inspired by the song "Dangerous" by the band Roxette to me. It still baffles me how these guys were able to get a whole game like this onto a SINGLE 880 Kb floppy disk, and then still have room to put such a diverse and extensive soundtrack on it. Gotta love MIDI.
5:08 track 2, my favourite
Quantas saudades eu sinto dos anos 90, a grande época das locadoras de vídeo game e dos fliperamas!!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I miss the times so much
This OST rocks...
One of the best memories of my youth.
Forgot how good the music was! Great memories
yeeeeheeeaaa :) loved this game and its soundtrack the intro was my favourite :)
Fun fact: The slap bass patch is from Roland devices such as the U-110. The SNES game Battle Grand Prix also uses the same sample.
Best game and music ever!
Yasssss I used to love this game
Track 4 at 9:18 was my jam :)
Right
The origin of the track 2 of.Top Gear
Intro so exciting!!!
i love this music both on amiga and c64 amazing.
Track 3 was fireeeee
Lotus order Top Gear order
LTC1 Title=New York/Bordeaux
LTC1 Track 3=San Francisco/Frankfurt
LTC1 Track 4=Los Angeles/Hiroshima
LTC2 Ending=Title
Any other?
You're forgetting track 0 = The vacuum cleaner race.
I came for 0:20 - 0:30
6:54
Thanks for posting
magnificent
Track 03 at 6:54 was the best in top gear but this version is way better
Completely agree with you, sir. Amiga had better sound chips. If you want another works from the composer, Barry Leitch, check "Horizon Chase". It has new versions of his works.
This song is the main reason I liked Lotus as much as I did! Played it both on Amiga and the Top Gear version on SNES.
the beginning sounds a lot like Dire Straits Money for nothing
Hey guys, Horizon Chase for 18 pila in Brazil eShop
Najpierw grałem w Lotus 2. Później lotus 3. W lotusa 1 mało grałem. Dobra muzyka!
The greates racing game that days on Amiga
Track #3 is one I remember hearing from Top Gear on SNES.
0:33 Einfach imba 🤩
Banging!
Rocking.
I haven’t checked if this music soundtrack is available on Amazon music or iTunes or any other music platform but fuck, if it was and you had it playing in your own car.... how hard will the accelerator be pushed into the floor. Driving like your in the game
Epic :-)
BEST - RACING - GAME - EVER!
3.17 for me, this boy's a rocker! Memories of driving over sunset hills with this thumping out. The only downside for me was that single player was just half screen.
childhood of racing games in a nutshell to me
6:54 Track 03 - Could some talented band make a remake of this song? F***ing hell it's good 😅
The top gear tracks the intro and the 3rd track. And the 4rd.
track 3 was my choice
Place it in 1.25x and click here 06:54 for 60hz version hahahaah
like track 2 :D
The ultimate 2p soundtrack
Track 3 Ofc!
❤️❤️❤️
Huh. It shares tracks with Top Gear for the SNES. :v
+marty11x same composer
No, I mean the songs themselves are reproduced. The encoding is different, obviously, but the notes are the same.
Which is fine; they're great songs! :D
marty11x more like a remix, but i get what mean :)
The composer (Barry Leitch) said on an interview that Kemco (producer of Top Gear) gave him 5 days to do the soundtrack. His compositions used the Amiga sintetizer, but they didn't like and said to the composer to use they're own samples. He said that the only way to do in 5 days would be to reuse his past works, and they were ok with it.
Great soundtrack but 'super cars' was the better game imo.
Track 4 all day long
I got the rom and seem to be stuck on the splash screens. Trying changing inputs on WinUAE, but nothing works.
the ROM ? It's a diskette!
the first track sounds like desert strike intro
Yes thats right. Great 👍👍👍
wow the dash has both cassette and cd? i want that in my car.
Lotus turbo Challenge e melhor que Top Gear, mas vocês não estão preparados pra essa conversa!!!
Always track 3 :)
the only sad thing of all this is we dont have the name of each song ;-;
+SpikerDragon95 The songs may even not have names but the producer of them is called Barry Leitch
2020!!!!!!
All of them are awesome except Track 02.
Always 05:08s
Praise Trump
