Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
I have refurbed all the furniture in my house, my entertainment center was an old rolling tool box, my end table is was an old jr high school locker, my coffee table was an old military footlocker and I'm now building an patio bar cart out of an old stand up jewelry box. I've saved SO MUCH money redoing my own furniture plus had fun doing it. I even saved money on the paint, I went and bought a gallon of Glidden Red Barn paint for like $20 and after doing all the furniture I still have 1/4 of the gallon left. I may use the 2x4 strip idea in the bar cart, that's a pretty cool trick that I never even thought about.
Years ago, this would have bored me. But now that I am redoing small pieces of furniture with decoupage, I'm always looking to learn something new. Thank you so much!
Amazing!! I am repurposing a dresser into a kitchen island. I love your straightforward way of explaining it all. Plus you gave me a great tip to attach a riser base! Thank you!
Pure genius! Inspiring! I love it how you can turn a worn out piece of furniture into a beautiful and functional treasure! I like the extra features: towel racks, caster wheels, chop board.
I love this repurposed dresser into an Island! I could see several different purposes for this including a place to set my plants on my covered patio👍👍👍
Great project, and superb job of explaining. I especially liked the 1" hole/washer part. I had to watch that 3 times before I understood what you did. You have a real good eye for upcycling!
Thanks for sharing! Between all the upgrades on the furniture, and making this video, I know you put a lot of time and energy into the project. I truly value your dedication to creating and sharing your skills. You are beyond talented and kindhearted!
This is my favourite project of yours so far! Butcher blocks are really popular here in the UK at the minute so I would be sure this item would sell pretty quickly. Well done mate, it looks really professional and the finish is excellent too. Thanks for going to the effort of filming and sharing this project. N.
Videos like this make me wish I had gone into woodworking instead of cosmetology! I love the creation of furniture, especially when you’re reinventing it! Great video and project! Thanks ❤
I can't believe how *beautiful* and functional this piece is.......Omg.......this is an amazing video. So glad I found your channel:-) Your talent is amazing! Thank You for sharing your exceptional craftmanship!
Great job. More work than I am willing to do but I got a lot of information. You explained it all well and kept my attention to the end. Even if I knew it wasn't what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for doing this project. as it encourages me to try new things. really need to get that pocket jig and a nail gun. you made it look so easy. keep them coming. appreciation from Ontario, Canada .
I love this..It is the perfect size for limited spaced kitchens. beautiful. I noticed that the cutting block is the state of Missouri. I'm in the STL area
I watched this video because I've been thinking of doing something similar, only to get to unveiling at the ending and could not figure out why I recognized your background wall. Then it hit me. We both live in the same town, and I've almost bought a few of your pieces after seeing them on craigslist. I built a bed frame last year and almost messaged you about your industrial dresser because it complimented the design so well!
Wow this is amazing! I came to UA-cam thinking I could do something like this, after watching this I know I can't lol you are so talented. I really love it 💖
Very inspiring. I am an structural engineer and I would not think twice doing what you for a living. In fact, I might have a crack doing woodworking. It looks amazing.
Boy, are you married? ♡♡♡ love that your man can build. Where can I get a guy that diy's. I must have one. Love this. I didn't know about the mineral oil. And thanks for the tip on holding the wood in place over night to a metal flat table to not have it bend so much. I did a similar item and didn't know how to fix that. I guess I can try again. Thanks.
Did you really sell that? Oh my that was beautiful. I've never had anything like that. Actually never lived anywhere that was big enough for it. Gorgeous.
Can I assume it might be possible to make the top wide enough that it overhangs and could also be turned into/used as an island raised kitchen bar style table. Perhaps to have a couple stools along with it?
Great video Kevin...just would like to have seen how you mounted the "butcher block" to the cabinet...do you have another video that shows a similar process?
I drilled (4) 1/2" diameter holes in each corner of the dresser's original top, flipped it over on top of the butcher block, and attached it with 1-1/2" long wood screws with big fender washers. In my how to install butcher block countertops video series, I have better visuals of how I installed them. The screw/fender washer combo works like a clamp to hold the butcher block top down to the dresser, but the big 1/2" hole allows it room to move if the wood swells or shrinks.
Love the finished result. I'm curious what size wheels did you use on it? They looked like a good size in proportion to the piece. I'm asking because I had looked at other videos repurposing a dresser for an island and most used these tiny wheels. Looked weird to me.

Now after four years,I am loving how you teach this. Nice and useful. And,as you say, cool.

I love a man who can build things and use those strong hands. That's appealing.

That's a great idea. I've even seen old dressers turned into potting tables very similar to this.

Thank you for talking your way through your choices ie; primer choice, different caster frame configurations. Just like Real Life!
LOVE HOW YOU CUT DOWN THE 2X4S AND THE WALL PAPER

Did you really sell that? Oh my that was beautiful. I've never had anything like that. Actually never lived anywhere that was big enough for it. Gorgeous.
