I have rosacea and dry skin, so my face tends to be red in places. Lately my face has been irritated and inflamed, and I’ve been looking for something to help heal my skin barrier. Last night I tried layering LaRoche Posay Cicaplast over my Aveeno Calm + Restore Triple Oat serum, and I woke up with smooth, hydrated skin, and I swear the redness was almost completely gone. In the morning I use prescription Metronidazole, Aveeno Calm + Restore Triple Oat Hydrating Serum, and Neutrogena Purescreen+ Mineral UV Tint sunscreen. At night I use ROC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream, prescription Ketoconazole, and Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer most nights. Sometimes I use the Aveeno hydrating serum and apply the Cicaplast over it to baste.
Oh I also often use The Ordinary EGCG Caffeine Solution under my eyes in the morning with reusable silicone under eye masks (I use Pacifica) to seal it in and reduce puffiness after I cleanse my face and before I put on any other products. I wear them for 5-10 minutes as I’m getting ready. The combo of the serum and the masks really reduces puffiness for me.

SAME! 💯 I have had an inflamed skin barrier/dry sensitive skin redness ever since destroying my skin barrier in my 30s using a Clarisonic in an attempt to clean my skin thoroughly and properly.
At that time I was seeing an aesthetician and having facials once a month in attempts to repair my skin barrier and dermatologica was the only products my skin could tolerate and while I was seeing benefits, it is also incredibly expensive.
I’m 47 now and I still have extremely dry and sensitive skin, redness in both cheeks, and uneven skin texture. No matter what products I try to use to combat the redness. I have used Laroche Posay tolerine cleanser and it has helped a lot in terms of irritation and Tower 28 redness rescue line. But I’m definitely going to try this method and see if I can achieve a noticeable difference.
My goal is to achieve skin like yours where I can use minimal products if I choose to instead of look as if my skin is dry, flaky, red, itchy, or patchy. I love makeup, but on the daily, I’m really trying to find products to incorporate in my skin care routine that works consistently to combat the problems I’ve described, gently exfoliate, making sure that I use tinted moisturizer with sunscreen on the days when I’m not working because I do live in Florida. I would love to hear your thoughts and any recommendations you have to offer.
I also bought one of the light therapy devices that everyone is asking for your opinion on and I do notice a huge difference in the overall tightness of my skin, which I am absolutely thrilled about because I have always struggled with a double or triple chin, even though I am not drastically overweight. I was born with CP and have to use a power wheelchair because I’m unable to walk. I also have CRPS (which stands for chronic reflexive pain syndrome) and high CRP levels in my blood, which has been explained to me by Drs.as c-reactive protein resulting in high inflammatory response rate in my entire body.
I am also a Dr., although not an MD, I do have an extensive knowledge in the healthcare and medical field. I’ve just recently discovered your channel (unfortunately, I’ve been in the hospital since December 2023 after breaking both of my knees and legs due to a fall for my wheelchair). The healing process has been an extraordinarily slow and difficult one. But on the bright side, it is giving me time to explore different topical areas to study which I love such as skincare. And also how I became aware of your channel.
I’m fascinated by your videos and I thoroughly enjoy them. So don’t be surprised if you see more questions or commentary by me in future videos :-)
You have a way of breaking things down that is not only accessible and easy to understand by your audience, but achievable for results.
Keep up the great work. I would love to one day come and have an assessment and evaluation by you regarding my skin’s needs and your personalized
      recommendations.
Thank you for all you do and I look forward to hopefully seeing more videos talking about the benefits/advantages to using light therapy devices.

I'm not sure if it's only supposed to be a compliment but if it's actually a genuine question I'll answer it.
Make-up is a hobby and the skin is the canvas. It doesn't matter what the skin looks like, you still want to do your hobby.
Some people think that makeup is only meant for covering "flaws." The view on that has been shifting for quite a few years now though.
I think the trend has been going more towards body positivity and enhancing the features we like about ourselves instead of trying to cover up what we don't like. That's my personal take on it though.
I hope this helped you in understanding a little.

Strangely, growing up, in our house zinc oxide was always the thing we used, if our lips were really chapped or our noses were inflamed as kids after having a cold, we’d slather it on as soon as we were “in for the night” and it always worked like a charm.

Right after watching this I bought Sudocrem and did this last night. A couple of comments so people have realistic expectations First, it does work. I damaged my skin barrier by using something I should not have on my face. It was inflamed and scaly for several days prior to trying this. Today, after "basting" it's completely back to normal. I used it on the skin right up to my eyes with no issues (because the skin around my eyes was inflamed). The only thing is I didn't wake up looking like Shereene. I had blotches of dried Sudocrem in various places on my face. I had to wash my face very well straight away in the morning and then, I saw the great results. Thank you for the great tip and hurray for affordable products like Sudocrem that actually work.

Hi Dr Idriss, just wanna thank you for sharing with us your valuable knowledge. I ordered the triple paste after your video and tried it on my hands. I’ve been plagued with hand dermatitis since 2003’s SARS outbreak after damaging my skin barrier from over sanitising my hands. I’ve never had skin on my hands so calm before without the help of antihistamine etc. I still applied steroid cream first before a layer of vanicream moisturiser and locked it in with thick layer of the butt paste. Sealed with cotton gloves. When I work from home I do that in day time if not I do nightly too. It has since changed my life. Thank you so much once again! 🙏

Came here to say TY! About a year ago I started a medication that caused my skin to have this irritation and redness constantly. Mostly down the sides of my cheeks but also everywhere else on my face. Nothing I tried helped.
I came across one of your shorts about the triple paste to repair your skin barrier and I am here to say, it's working!!! 🥳🥳
I'm on day 3 or 4 now of slathering my face with the Triple Paste and the inflammation and redness has gone down by almost half. 😭😭🙏🙏 My skin is also softer and smoother. I cannot thank you enough for your honest recommendation and no BS attitude. 💖
My skin was almost flawless before this medication and it made me fairly upset to see all my hard work gone but, butt paste to the rescue!! 😆 I'm excited to see the results in a few weeks of use.

@@Vetriyas It reduces redness and helps eczema flatten out and not be so itchy. It REALLY helps reduce the itch of eczema. After 3-5 consecutive nights applied to eczema, the rash is usually gone. It also helps keep my skin hydrated since it's slugging, just with the active ingredient of zinc oxide. I wake up with less redness, less rashiness, less dryness, and more plumpness. It hasn't irritated any blemishes and seems to help their inflammation reduce as well. And it's inexpensive.

I still enjoy your new videos but once in a while will watch one of your older videos before your skin care line came out. I think dealing with starting your own practice and your own skin care line and dealing with everything involved has worn you a little bit. I like watching your old videos sometimes because you smiled more, giggled more and were corny more often which I loved! I just wanted you to know that I still love your new videos and I wish I could afford your skin care line but I can't. I have a couple of melasma patches on my upper lip but it's not too dark but I see it. If I'm consistent with hydroquinone two months on, one month off then I get good results.
