On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Against the Mirage, I think playing to YOUR strength unfortunately just happened to also be playing to HIS strength.
Yeah, I fly both because of how similar they handle.
Seems like the Mirage 2000 is just one of the best turning fighters in DCS in general? It can somewhat keep up with speed and vertical of the F-16, but also turn as hard and efficiently as any other top tier dogfighter at slower speeds.
And the big Delta is almost perfect for countering the Cobra; its great for tight turns, low stall speed and bleeding energy.
If DCS is anything to go by, then the french really nailed the Delta-design with that aircraft.

The A-10 losing control for no reason got me laughing for no reason
There was a video on the internet about a guy who was an F-16 pilot who saw the cobra in action for the first time. When they asked him what he would do if he was fighting that thing he said ''eject''. The maneuver was so outlandish for it's time (despite being performed by sweedes initially) it scared americans to death when they found out the Flanker also carried helmet mounted display to lock on a target off bore.
Truly an amazing demonstration of it's powers and weaknesses. Missed your collabs with Longshot. That guy can do some black magic with Flankers. Any plans on flying together soon?

And it was very notable that against the F-15, when Bane wasn't ready for it, it was a big surprise, but once he KNEW to expect it, much harder.
Essentially, it's one more tool in the toolbox. Like the Immelman, it can be used to pull some tricks, but it's dangerous. But heck, if you're already in trouble, why not try?
That sounds a bit like that myth around the Cobra. Its NOT a powerful tool, nor is it even a soviet thing.
In reality, the Cobra was first documented with the Saab Draken, the predecessor to the Viggen from the 50s. So the Swedes invented the Cobra, and only later a soviet pilot found their Mig-21 could do it as well. Its not some "black magic" by the Su-27/Mig-29.
But it was never used in combat, its only shown off in airshows, including by aircraft like Super Hornets. Idk how common the Immelman is, but its actually useful because youre not just brainlessly bleeding off energy, youre trading it against altitude and might cash it in with a dive. A Cobra is like russian roulette, if your opponent is ready to react, or quickly adjusts, then youre just dead.
@@termitreter6545 That is basically a longer version of what i said. Americans did not really know what the capabilities of the maneuver were during combat. In fact, back then, russia was such a huge threat, seeing an aircraft that resembles F-15, pull a maneuver of such sort surely scared the shit out of them.
It was like how they were terrified of Mig-21 at first only to find out how crudely it was made when a russian landed it on a japanese airfield to escape soviet union.
This is why the pilot's initial reaction was ''eject''.
Flankers are extremely lethal non the less.

The gun employment by the Raptor was razor sharp. Dissected those stabs and then removed the engines. Beautiful airmanship!

Whoever said that "not every problem can be solved with a bullet" has never flown an A-10 before. This guy GS is going up against lost control of his plane and got it back just by shooting. Legendary.
The Su-27 was, by nature, designed so with the assumption that its pilot had downed 4 liters of vodka, and was pumping hardbass. This tends to give Russian Air Force pilots superpowers
if they don't down 4 liter of vodka they start to fly funny and get into mid air collisions
