My House Build Pt11- House gets covered in insulation

  • We did some work since our last video and here it is. We finally started putting on the insulation layer on the house and also steel supports for wooden facade. Also the south glazing got its outer larch cover. We connected the outer storage room to the house with a carport roof. The house is closing to completion on the outside and we can't be happier to be able to start working on the dry and wind free interior. Hopefully the front door comes next week and the wooden facade will be up for the next video.. always laughed at couples from grand designs when giving prognosis for moving in date , usually it's Christmas.. :D Now I realized, I'm just like them..

    What a feast! I haven't heard this piece by Mozart in many years - to be honest, it's not his most sublime work - it does the job, but it's well below his best. The house is coming on well. It's going to very energy-efficient - no bad thing nowadays - my stone-built house is over 200 years old and is rather difficult to heat. There's not really any cavity in the walls and barely any foundations. We stick to heating the person rather than the room. Is your glass wall south-facing? If so, I can see possibilities for your sloping roof and photo-voltaic panels.

    • @lignumchannel
      @lignumchannel  Рік тому

      Thank you Nicole!:) I wonder sometimes what would Mozart say about me using his work as music for my videos hehe.. Yes it faces south and as sun goes down as winter approaches, it heats the interior more and more during sunny days. Even now without all the glass doors and front doors installed, there is noticeable difference when yo walk in in the chilly morning. PV will have to wait a year or two until I financially recover a bit..

      Yes I am a bit, I must admit. Although the part sticking out will be surrounded by wooden verticals so it won't be in direct contact with cold air. I guess I will have to wait and see how it will behave. I saw multiple buildings with similar solution being build over the last decade and there are no problems so far. Hopefully it will stay this way.

      By the way. In the simulation you can add beams within the insulation and their material and dimensions. You probably have to choose a overly wide distance of them to accomodate that you do not have continous beams and match the final metal area per m2.

    If the facade will bi ventilated the styrofoam is NoGo because of the fire. Hope you are aware of the risk. Keep up the good work. 👍

      Not exactly ventilated, 15mm gaps around each board. Styrofoam will be covered in 10mm cement mortar so there is little risk. Thank you pasquali!😁

      @@lignumchannel Onda super. Baš mi je bilo malo čudno, jer imaš sve nastudirano u detajl a da bi sada na kraju napravio neko glupost na fasadi... 🙈

    I am sure someone has asked before, but what is that glue you are using on the bolts? Assuming it is the same from the stairs, seems like some crazy stuff...

    • @lignumchannel
      @lignumchannel  Рік тому

      Yes these are called chemical anchors. It is two component resin with sand particles which when hardens, holds the bolt as if it was put in fresh concrete.

      @lignumchannel  Рік тому

      Yes a s Eduardo said, Rothoblaas Jelly. Yes I love it. We have a Representative in Croatia and got it trough them. It takes a bit of time to adjust and pinpoint best pressure of rollers and brushes, the paint flow, speed at which you push and pull but after a bit of practice and trial and error, two people can perfectly paint 200m2 of planks in an hour!?! Before, It took us couple of days to do it as nice.. Thank you very much Negau!:)
