- A long time has passed since my fiancee and I started working on our future home project so after year and a half, I think it's time to make a video of all the work we have done so far. In this 35 minutes video you can see all the steps from marking the outlines of the house, up to the day the house was finally water tight. You can also expect some new frames.:) For more detailed videos please check out parts 1-12 which go more in depth and have more detailed subtitles explaining all the steps.
It took us a lot more time to get here than anticipated , mostly due to other projects I had to work on, but hopefully things will go on easier from now on. At least we wont cook under the sun and freeze during winter:) House building system we used is a traditionally used one here in continental Croatia. I hope you will find future videos as interesting as ones so far and hopefully another longer half an hour video will drop in a year or so..

That Foundation is built more watertight than an transoceanic ship! Wow.
That looks like a very substantial house. Should be no problem holding off the zombies.
In Europe, most houses are built this way to be more comfortable and more durable against storms or natural disasters.
This is how all houses should be, unlike those American tinder boxes

I was hooked as soon as I saw you using seismic testing for your foundation. Besides, I really love your country and its people...every time I visit I want to stay! This level of work ethic and craftsmanship is one reason.
Great work guys! I have been watching all the videos for this series and your workmanship is super impressive. Looks like the house can withstand the most extreme weather / calamities and stand strong for a thousand years !
In the US, builders are still building huge stick built with a low consideration for passive energy in the design, we call them McMansions after MacDolands clone designs. Your Architect seems to be very thorough and your build team very accomplished. I hope this stands as inspiration in the US to build smarter. Truly lovely to watch.

Fantastic! Worth watching, one thing my curiosity drives my attention with is electrical, plumbing and if there is hvac layout too. I hope there's a second video for these disciplines. Overall Great Job!

Yes I can't believe either.. I just know when I started, I had zero grays, and now my beard is full of them..:) But as you say, hopefully it will all be worth it. Ps. We finished the violin design, I'l be in touch in a few days. Happy new 2023, I wish you all the best!

Once again, I have to say this is stunning work. Looks like you will be able to heat that home with a couple 100 watt incandescent lights. 🙂
:) I wish you were right hehe.. I was running a few tests during the last couple of weeks. I tried a 2kw radiator over night during -3° and it got it up to 10° when I came in the morning. Also on a sunny day it got the temperature up to 12° while it was around 0° outside without any additional heating. I should leave the heater on for a week or so to get better results because all the walls are still cold and have a lot of mass that soaks up the energy. All in all, it looks promising:)

Fantastic review of the build so far. Wonderful way to end the year. I look forward to the new year knowing (at least hopeful) for continuing videos in this series. Will we see custom cabinets and furniture? Maybe a custom chandelier build? Patio and deck? The future should hold wonderful surprises. 🙂 BTW, I'm definitely hiring your foreman if I ever build a house.
:) I will tell her hehe.. Yes I plan to film all the work inside the house.. Furniture, each room will have its differences but hopefully everything will fit together as we imagined.. I know for sure people will love it or hate it, nothing in between.

This is an example of a very tough build! I guess this can withstand an 8-10 magnitude earthquake 💪 The foundation to roof and the insulation are damn crazy! I wish I can execute this king of construction in our county!
Glad you think so! We had a couple of strong earthquakes a few years ago and I sure hope it wont mind a bit of shaking..

well its a well built home, and a beautiful home as well, I hope it dont end up like a lot of homes on these youtube videos of abandon homes,because the home owner went overboard on unnessary expenses and later find out they cant afford it and end up moving away and leaving it behind, after the bank takes over. hope this is a cash project and I do wish them well, I will be keeping up with the building and the finishing of it.

We use similar building techniques in Cyprus part of the EU, the only difference here they pour all the concrete beams/columns/slabs, then fill in with brick work, your building everything seems to be tied together when you put the bricks first then concrete forms, kinda seems better your way.
