- Sthula Vyayama are the Yogic warmup exercises usually practiced before performing Asanas. Literarily "Sthula" in Sanskrit means "wide" or "fat". So Sthula Vyayama should target a wide number of muscles and joints together.
These are combination of Cardio, mobility and stretching exercises with proper administration of breathing pattern.
Though there are end number of Sthula Vyayama in practice around the various Schools of Yoga, the following set of 17 exercises has been carefully selected and sequenced by Yogaguru Amlan with Guru Arun keeping in mind the optimum utilisation of time and effort for the practitioners.
To keep them interesting for the modern generation some exercises have been clubbed with military PT drills by Yogaguru. So you will find a dash of sportiness while practicing.
These set of Sthula Vyayama can also be practiced as an effective "Daily Fitness Routine" even if you are not practicing Yoga.
