All of these "paperlike" screen protectors pick up scratches easily. The problem most of the time isn't the apple pencil causing them. It's dust and particles being dragged around on them, when you clean the screen with a cloth and your pressing down on the screen while doing so. I noticed a ton of these micro scratches within a week of owning one. Cleaning your screen with a damp cloth will help, but you will get them anyways...
Microbiologist light a Bunsen burner and keep it near any petri dish plates they're going to uncover. The flame/heat creates an updraft that helps to prevent any small particles from falling in the petri dish and contaminating it. When I install screen protectors I do it near my stove top and range hood which have both been turned on. Never get a spec of dust under my protectors. Perfect every time. 👌
When you rubbed your hand around it the first time it sounded like cicadas. 😂 I gotta say, I really enjoy your videos just as much for the side comments and witty bits as much as the actual info. Great combo of entertaining and informative! Plus, I crack up because the constant side thoughts and rolling back around to the task at hand is so me, so it makes me laugh yet I'm able to keep up well. 🤣
The bubbles can be avoided if you use the card as you’re laying it down little by little and peeling the film back, until the end. There’s a non official yt video that was super helpful and explained that when I first got it back in 2021. It did trigger my ocd horribly back then still lol. Using the sticker to get all the dust lint particles every few seconds drove me insane Also this is their hardest and most textured version. On their Amazon they explain the differences, the one that has a better screen visual quality and is softer, mimicking Kent paper is the one with the cherry blossoms on the package cover. ( but I’ve long preferred the one you got because sketching with graphite/pencil brushes feels amazing, and it will wear down to the softness of the Kent paper one over time/usage ) Biggest con though is it does wear down Apple pencil tips faster than the softer bellemond versions
@@chris-piascik Haha infused would be cool. There's two slim magnetic strips on top of the left and right side. So when you stick it on it lays pretty much flat onto your screen.
I have the same magnetic one and really like it. Here to see your review on this paper as I did buy it as well but have not tried it. Will decide by the end of this video lol.
Good video on this product...I decided to risk it for the brisket and just raw dog the screen this round. Zugu case and the doodlers glove but no screen protector. I really enjoy the smoothness and responsiveness from plain screen. I 100% advise a decent thicker cleaning cloth. Apple makes one but I discovered Hohner has this cleaning cloth that came with my accordions and they are are amazing for wiping the screen and theyre like 5 bucks.
As one crosses the 50 year old line, reading the instructions becomes more and more necessary, lol. ADHD or not. Appreciate your totally honest approach to these unboxings and reviews. And the size of that wet wipe, lol. For cleaning, I found an alcohol free cleaner recently that does my glasses, tv, iPad, phone etc. Much better than the wet wipes they usually give you. : ) For dust a fresh Swiffer pad can sometimes help as well. I do live in a dust zone, so I feel your pain. I noticed that the listing for Bellamond on Amazon Canada shows a few different varieties depending on usage. There a couple types of surfaces for drawing, a couple for writing and even a magnetic removable one. I'm about due for a new screen protector, so I look forward to your thoughts in a week or two!
Thanks for the tips! I actually picked up an iPad mini to supplement my iPad Pro (bc I’m crazy and impulsive) and I’ve been using the PaperFeel screen protector on the mini. I want to keep using them both for the rest of the week, but the PaperFeel is currently my favorite of the 2.
I have the old paperlike screen, been with me for 2 years now. I really liked it and never complained, as to the loss of quality due to the matte screen idc about it much because I use my ipad 90% of the time for notetaking and lectures. Now, I am bound to replace the screen protector because it has scratches all over. And I was wondering, for purely note taking, would you recommend this or the new paperlike screen protector? Or maybe some other brand? Please help..
Well I got the new iPad Pro with the nano texture and that gives me the drawing feel that I want so I’m no longer using one. That said, I used all different ones before I switched and I honestly thought they were all pretty much fine. I think if I had to buy one now I’d likely just get the PaperFeel since it’s cheap.
@@chris-piascik thanks bud! I have the 2018 pro 11". I use it for taking notes. I bought a film from MoCo back then, and i have been happy with it but they don't make one for this model anymore. Any way, good luck and thanks again.
I thought all of them come with 3 little rectangular placement stickers to help you secure the screen protector in place before you pill it off. It helps alot with placement, bubbles and dust. Seems like a big mistake not to include placement stickers inside the kit.
I recently went back to this one as I needed to swap out my worn out PaperLike. I like it more this second time around, I think the new PaperLike is too smooth for my drawing preference. Since this one has more texture it seems to last quite a bit longer and show less scratches.
There’s a version of that one by bellemond, exactly like the one he uses in the video however it’s limited to certain iPad sizes BELLEMOND Blue Light Cut Paper Screen Protector
Hii iam very confused what to buy i am currently using esr normal one but before that i was using spigen matte one but its really was ruining iPad pro screen quality and i don't want to compromise my screen quality like Fully so iam so confuse what should I choose Belle mound or paper like i want best of both worlds and i just don't want to compromise screen quality that much ✨ .
If screen quality is your main concern I would definitely recommend PaperLike over Bellemond. I would say that PaperFeel and iCarez Matte are inbetween Bellemond and PaperLike (PaperLike being the one that provides the best screen/image quality).
I think maybe you’re referring to the old version. The new one is very minimal compared to the other options. I have the new PaperLike on my iPad Pro and the PaperFeel on my iPad Mini. And I had the Bellemond on my pro before that
I'm not sure if I missed it in one of the videos, but which protector did you end up liking best out of the Bellemond, Paperlike, or the Amazon ones you reference?
I’m not sure to be honest. I currently have the Astropad one on there and it’s solid. When I have to buy a new one I’m not sure which I’ll get. I don’t think I’ll get the PaperLike one as I wear them out too quickly. But they are the best for screen quality… until it’s all scratched up.
I got some slightly softer and grippier pencil nibs on amazon and have been really happy with them. I threw my stupid paperlike in the trash. No need for it anymore.
Hi Chris, I was wondering if you know of any screem protector for the ipad that blocks blue light at the same time, is it anti glare and has a paper feel? I don't know if something like this exists, I searched on Amazon but I can't find a protector that has these three characteristics and since you spend so many hours on your iPad, maybe you know of a product like this, thanks for your support!!!
Unfortunately I do not. I think a better solution would be the glasses that block the blue light that way you don’t have to compromise the color of the screen all the time?
Locking out blue light, will leave you without blues, greens, purples.so you only will have left reds, yellows and oranges.my close up work-reading glasses are made with somekind anti glare glass,so lights don’t reflect disturb my eyes,I think getting something like that would be best way to go than making you’re IPad Colourblind 😂
I have the Zugo too too, but the screen protector I used to use and the case were so. close. in size that I could never get the SP to PERFECTLY align, and an edge would allways pop up. I like taking the iPad to of the case often enough to make this ever so slight mis align a problem.
@@chris-piascik I've only used cheap ones, Supershieldz from amazon, and was happy enough w/ the tooth, and it got scratched up which was fine too. Possibly it was my install and possibly the way it was made?

I don’t even understand how that works! Does it have magnets around the sides? Or is it infused with metal like wolverine?

god bless, you have all the videos about the iPad, that I had questions about
Were there 2 in the box? You discard the box after pulling it out. Amazon says 2 count, the package says 1.
