For what it's worth, my school allows reptiles in the dorms as long as they are non-venomous, aren't a crocodilian, and are 4 feet in length or smaller. They have to have a full health check from the vet school, have an enclosure within certain size specifications, must be leashed or in a container if you take it outside of your dorm room, and if you have a room mate you must have written and signed permission from your roommate for the reptile to be there. Edit: There's also a limit on how many animals can live in a room. It's either one per human inhabitant or two per human inhabitant. They can all be owned by the same person, but if that's the case no one else can have pets. Oh, and if it's a two person room with only one person, it still counts as two person as far as pet population is concerned.
Hi! The kitchen with a washing machine in it is from the UK (pretty certain based on the plug sockets). Over here it's more common to not have a separate laundry room, but instead to mush the laundry room and the kitchen into one.
