Didn't even know this existed until I saw this video. This looks really cool and I'm glad to see more companies make products like this. These two in one type of computers have become my favourite and i think they are amazing for animator.
HI. Thanks for this great evaluation. I have an odd question: Is the pen magnetized or the edge of the tablet? You can test it with a paper clip or another steel object and see where the magnets are. Thanks!
there is also a diffrence between surface devices which dont have a cooling system.this one has as well a small ventilator which it is cooling the processor.i had a surface pro 5, i was kinda disappointed that after a couple hours it was too hot to touch.the dell has not the same screen analyse unfortunately like a surface to 2440p .
Looking at getting this at a very reasonable price in 2022, but don't like glossy screens. Wondering how well a matte screen protector will look on it.
Every tablet with capacitive touch has a glass glossy top screen. A matte screen would make the image look blurry, thereby lowering the image quality of the device.
Did you end up buying it? It's 2024 and i'm still very interested in buying a secondhand of this product. There are other options (the new chuwi hi10 max, the more expensive minisforum v3) but for the chuwi, skeptical of its durability, and the minisforum is not really accessible both in price and local availability.
hi I was going to buy sp6 but was expensive 0 points for repairing no battery replacement no usb c!!! a detachable like this feels very good, no need to turn keyboard 360 back for using tablet like, 800gm is ok for me, don't need keyboard for web browsing, movies , etc.
Vikas Gupta I don’t remember what it was like. I apologize for not putting that information in. That’s not been something that’s been an important aspect for me but is a good bit of information to include.
@@TabletPro thank you very much for such a quick reply. A humble request if you do get a chance, kindly let me know about it. Also no need for apologies, this information is not important for many people but for some, like me it's absolutely critical.
I can say the speakers are decent, but the pen does cover one which muffles one side if the pen is magnetically attached. Otherwise they are sideways-facing which makes them seem less loud than say the Surface's forward-firing speakers. The quality is decent and again I'd say it's compatible to the Surface quality and loudness-wise (average for a tablet of this size, not going to blow you away but enough to fill up a small room and not overwhelmingly tinny). Of course they lack any and all bass, but the software artificially compensates for that decently enough by focusing more on a low-end the speakers can replicate. Listen to a surface with the surface flat on a table (speakers facing up and away from you) and you basically have an idea of what the Latitude 5285/5290's speakers sound like.
Hey, nice video! You said your Surface Pro 6 has a similiar jitter amount. My Surface Book 2 has that as well, even stronger I would say. How do you get around this? I find this totally annoying and can't really work with that. My notes are often unreadable and I have to make corrections all the time.
I use specific programs that handle jitter independently. Software smoothing CAN (it isn’t always) be done very quickly. I find OneNote works well and paint tool Sai and photoshop both handle jitter well (although ps can get laggy) You may also want to try taking the stylus tip out and putting it back in and trying to get it in as deep as you can. (Ugh)
@@TabletPro it's available in the dell downloads drivers section. Also could you tell me which all pens are compatible with this, i tried using bamboo ink, but it did not work for some reason.
Hi, sorry for my bad English I'm Italian. Nice video and nice machine... I have a surface book 2 15" why wen I use photoshop (2019) the machine start battery drain the back of the computer hot? Even if the machine is set to low performance and maximum performance. Please help me. Whit the program sketchbook pro doesn't happen... Why? Really sorry for my bad English
No worries. Your english was easy to understand. Can you check if photoshop is using the GPU? Sketchbook is a very light program so it likely doesn’t use the gpu by default. Photoshop uses much more resources.
Unfortunately, this only supports up to 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity (according to Dell website). This makes the comparison to SP6 slightly questionable. I'm not sure whether this is AES 2.0 or only AES 1.0 compatible (cause for some reason this information appears to be nearly impossible to get on the internet), but considering the above, I'd wager it's the latter. That means no tilt detection.
I used to have a Surface clone that was as heavy as this Dell, and the difference was very noticeable, especially when holding it in your hand. Not to mention the Keyboard Cover, which also adds another 0.8lbs on top. I eventually returned it, partly due to the weight. For a tablet this size, every little bit of weight counts.
I agree. Depending on the usage weight matters a lot. I use my tablet in my lap so the weight isn’t as much of an issue. I found for holding a tablet the surface go hits the sweet spot. I find the Surface Pro 6 is actually too heavy for me for that purpose. Holding the tablet in one hand and drawing is unstable for me and slower to work by a decent amount. If I’m doing other types of work then holding is stable enough and is fine.

And also maybe vs Lenovo tablet?

does this model have decent palm rejection?
Yes. Very good

what's the name of that side soft with buttons?
Tablet Pro Artist Pad www.tabletpro.com
I guess, I'll take this instead of that surface pro. But did I heard refurbished? And I'm wondering if surface pro keyboard can be used by this dell?
good price on refurbished. The keyboard from the surface pro won't work on the dell. different connectors
Kindly comment on the speaker quality especially for watching movies and video lectures?
What's the battery backup like?

What did you think of the pen latency between this and the surface pro 6
Barely different. I think this was a little faster because it’s a 1080p display
the pen is wacom aes. i read in the review.
Can the Dell Latitude 7200 use the Microsoft Surface Pen or Wacom AES ?
Have you downloaded the Dell Active Pen utility? They have different ones based on your active pen model.

This machine is unfortunately significantly heavier than the Surface Pro, and it has poor speaker quality.
The weight of the two machines was pretty close for the tablet portion. 1.7 lb verse 2.0lb . (.3lbs difference) It wasn’t a big difference to me.

Absolutely, lighter and brighter so we can use it outdoors easier
