Lisa, you've been my go-to tech review channel for around five years now. Your depth of knowledge and straightforward style make your videos very enjoyable. I also appreciate how you change things up, meaning no two videos are alike. Your passion for technology really shines through. Thank you for being awesome!
I've been watching your reviews for a bit and didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. I think your reviews are excellent and the best on the Web!!! Keep up the great work!
See those screws around the edges at 7:45 to hold the kickstand underside back plate? I think this is more kind to extended life serviceability if one needs to get to the battery and solid state drive. It may not look pretty, but how often is someone passing by going to look UNDER my kickstand to chase these screws? Better yet, how often am I going to look underneath the kickstand? Handling the screws would be like handling delicate eyeglasses hinge screws. Not much force needed to torque.
It's one of the very few tablets that can be taken apart with a screwdriver (NotebookCheck has some nice photos of disassembly if anyone's interested). Sure, you don't get as nice of a screen as with consumer tablets, but you get robustness, quality control, repairability and technical support. My Latitude E6530 at work is going strong after 5 years with zero repairs, and my Precision M4500 is like new after 6 years of rough use with some repair (replaced backlit KB and IO board) and upgrades (SSD and RAM). You don't have to be a business user to appreciate these things... I wish more consumers cared about them when shopping for electronics, then we would see less throwaway glued designs and would't have to choose between business products with unnecessary features and consumer products that break 1 month after 1-year warranty period is over.
The palm rejection problem you're having is probably due to the Pen setting in Windows 10 called "Ignore touch input when I'm using my pen", that's probably turned off.
I really wish they would bring back the hard clamshell keyboard dock for home and hotel use. Sometimes you just need an actual laptop setting that the soft cover does not do.
Great review as always! As a fellow lefty, does the pen attach magnetically to both sides of the tablet or just the right? And any likelihood of a 7285 review as well?
some like me have display issues with the SP4. One blogger on MS suggested that the problem with heat dissipation on the video chip. Has MobileTechReview looked at this?
I'm really struggling with my decision. I would mainly use my laptop/convertible for art, some coding, making school stuff and a little bit of gaming (eg. Rocket League (no high performance games)) I really don't know which one to buy. I considered the Surface Pro 4 but I think it's Typecover and the Pentechnology wouldn't be great. Then there are these 360° laptops that would probably fit my needs. But they're hugely expensive and everyone of them seems to have one thing that I don't like. Such as low battery life, no or bad pen support and so on. Recently, I found out about the new spectre x360 and about the thinkpad x1 yoga 2017. I think they both would be great options but they're above 1,500€... Do you have an unknown warrior that fits my needs? Or should I just stop being so nit-picky?
_nHYT Surface pro 4 is almost perfect. All your concerns are wiped away when you use it. Pen tech is top notch, type cover works like a charm. Written by an artist.
Great review. Bought it used for my mom - she doesn't do much with it, but is used to Windows and her Iconia W700, but that one is really getting old...
Not sure why Dell put the Latitude moniker on this tablet. The Latitudes are business laptops....made to be docked on a desk to use an external monitor(s) KB and mouse. Also....business tablets that lack an ethernet port are a HUGE pain in the ass for IT departments as well as users, whenever it comes time to change their domain passwords. Yes, there are USB ethernet adapters but those open up a stadium sized hole for network security.
hi my uncle gave me his dell latitude 5290 dont have the accessory (pen) can scroll around the screen and im restricted on doing a factory reset is there anyway i can do a full reset? thank you in advance
Last year Dell put 2 thunderbolt 3 ports in their even thinner, core M processor powered E7275, therefore it is definitely not the thermo management that put DELL off. It is rather its targeting market which is for employees rather than employers.
Dell's business support is THE number one reason to buy it vs the surface. Even small businesses can have next day service for the product if something goes wrong. Good luck getting anything remotely close to that from Microsoft. Edit: now that I think about it, the lower resolution screen will also be much better when using software that doesn't scale to those super high resolutions. It was a real problem on the surfacebook and surface pro 4 I've setup for people and until microsoft implements a global OS level pinch to zoom feature that can be used to zoom in on super tiny stuff that ignores windows scaling settings, the surface products are a no go for me.
I think I'll wait for Dell to release a less corporate-centric version of this device. I currently have a HP Spectre X2, which does one thing better: It can charge through either USB C port, and there is one on each side, so regardless of which side it's convenient to plug into, it'll work. Having both USB C ports side by side, on the one side of the tablet, looks like it could cause problems for some users. One thing none of these tablets do, though, is have somewhere to stow the damn stylus for transport. The Spectre X2's stylus sticks to the bottom edge just because the battery in the pen happens to be attracted to the magnets in the keyboard cover. If you're absent minded, like me, the stylus will quite often stay home, when you need it in class. Is it so hard to include a slot in the chassis? I like the look of the speakers on this Latitude. The speakers on the HP are pathetically weak. Even in a relatively quiet place, I can't share a UA-cam video with someone because the ambient noise drowns the speakers out. Everyone I know with a HP, regardless of the model, agrees that HP speakers are absolute garbage. Although I'm not an Apple guy, I really would like to see Apple do a Surface clone. If they'd just bite the bullet and release a tablet mac, instead of iterating on their giant iPod, I'd give it an honest look. It'd probably be a dream device for a lot of users.
how long do they expect pc's like these to last with the ram shouldered on the board and if the ram dies you have to buy a whole new motherboard or pc... sure i expect that i would upgrade to pc sooner than 4-5 years but still what if their is a early failure for some odd reason...
I watched your review but I have a question. I'm an artist and I see the specifications and I love it but I dont find much information about the pen. I will use it to paint in photoshop or sculpt in zbrush, so I would like to know the difference between this pen and wacom pro pen because I dont know if the sensitivity to the inclination of the pen is the same.
Hey Lisa, Quick question. Which has better integrated graphics? the surface 4 with iris 540 intel graphics or the Dell latitude with 620 HD intel graphics? Thanks!
I'm looking into a surface type of tablet or thinking of getting the HP360 laptop but not sure I just need it for email and PowerPoint, excel and to do word documents like reports what do you suggest
Thanks, they seem to be really slow rolling this one out. Have you received it? I wrote them this because coming from a mac and doing a lot of PC laptop research and waiting over the last several months It really frustrates me how they go about selling their products. I've seen better organised garage sales. "What's happening with the yoga 720. I really don't know why pc manufacturers launch so poorly in a uncoordinated way. The machine has sold a few limited units in the USA and is on the site but no well known reviewers have units or reviews up. In the UK on low spec version has recently appeared on your website as shipping this week. No one really knows what's going on. You need to advertise proper launch dates and not just leak a few products onto market through the back door. It seems you can only really find out about it if you look really hard. I don't get it. It's like you don't want anyone to know about it, don't want to build up publicity, and don't want to sell any. It's not just lenovo but hp too. Then there's disorganised packaging like including a slot in the box for a pen but no pen release. Change of spec with some companies saying they don't support active pens and changing their mind after launch. It all seems like a PR mess which will surely hurt sales and keep potential consumers confused and in the dark. It all seems like an ad hoc approach whereas companies like apple do it in such a slick and professional way."
I got Surface book 512 GB SSD,16 GB ram with performance base Bought it used (for 400 CAD, made an amazing deal) and I have dell latitude 5285, 256 GB,16 GB RAM and I Bought used one for 900 bucks. I like the Surface book except the larger battery is in the base.
Can you do a review of the Lenovo Yoga 720 15in? I'm in the market for a small gaming/art convertible laptop. (I'm deciding between the Yoga 720 and HP Spectre x360.). Thanks!
Nice, more Surface clones! Still, hoping you can get your hands on another clone, the Asus transformer 3 pro! The thunderbolt 3 on it and being promoted with Asus' new external GPU has me intrigued
Microsoft released news that there is no Surface Pro 5 coming soon. I think on the 23rd May 2017 they will release a performance bump on the surface pro 4.
Hello Lisa, My 15 year old ,yes XP laptop died. I have been looking to replace it for a while. Thing have changed for sure. I was hoping you could recommend a laptop for me. I am not a gamer , but i do like something with some power and of cause reliability. The two most important things are display and track pad performance. Most of what get's reviewed don't have very good color reproduction. Not that i need it for work, i just like to look at a screen that looks great. Color's pop !.I trust your opinion ,mainly because you see so many products. I don't want to brake the bank, but i will spend a few bucks to get something nice. Thanks ,hope you can help................................
Please, please stop breezing over speakers. My tablets and/or laptops are constantly used for videoconferencing, hands free calling, and for video news streams when traveling... usually while multi-tasking with other things around the hotel room rather than sitting down with my ear to the tablet. I have no idea what "good for this kind of tablet" means. You used to spend at least a couple seconds on speaker quality on previous reviews, please don't stop now. I dislike BT speakers because they add bulk, weight, more chargers, and lag behind the video.
I was on the fence with buying Acer switch alpha for cheaper price point and allot of the bells. Acer only has about 4 hour battery when this has double. Acer is fanless i5 and this i5 has a fan. Hmmm Quiet is always better. Decisions.
It's a fairly cynical response to business demand for the Surface Pro: an unimaginative copy that doesn't seek to improve on the original in any way, including price, but does cut corners where it knows most businesses won't care. Impressive CPU performance. In Geekbench the single-core result it is better that of my MacBookPro 2014 with an 2.5Ghz i7 proc (single=4016, multi-thread=13275).

Looking to buy a used one of these off eBay and I knew nothing about them... This is what I call a legit review. Thanks. 😀
I've been watching your reviews for a bit and didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. I think your reviews are excellent and the best on the Web!!! Keep up the great work!
I was really thrown off that someone who looks like my grandma was giving me tech reviews. Still good review. Thank you
Would love to see your review of the GPD pocket!
JesiErin Yes please! Get a hold of one please 👍
DELL already destroyed the Macbook Pro 15 with the DELL XPS 15.... Now they are after the Surface Line???
Wow!!!... Talk about aspirations...

Another excellent review, viewing 6 years later
Best reviewer in the biz...crossing my fingers you get your hands on that monster 21 inch curved $9000 gaming laptop
Adam Cate - a smile and chuckle for you. Assume you love to game?
I like your reviews a lot, because they are hands in the hardware.
Heya Lisa, wondering if you'll be working on a review for the new 5290 2-in-1? :D
Always Love to here your reviews... Thanks for another great upload
@mobiletechreview Hey Lisa, can you make a video of the Lenovo Miix 720 and maybe talk a bit (more indepth) about writing and palm rejection?
It's one of the very few tablets that can be taken apart with a screwdriver (NotebookCheck has some nice photos of disassembly if anyone's interested). Thank you for your review, it was very helpful! Also, I love your t-shirt! ^^
If Dell really wants to totally blow Surface out of the water, then make them bezels disappear (or almost).
The palm rejection problem you're having is probably due to the Pen setting in Windows 10 called "Ignore touch input when I'm using my pen", that's probably turned off.
I'd rather buy the MS surface pro.
Ima download it thanks for sharing!!
The force is strong with this one.
Thank you for always making awesome and genuine videos.
You are a go to when coming to buying a new laptop.

I really wish they would bring back the hard clamshell keyboard dock for home and hotel use. Sometimes you just need an actual laptop setting that the soft cover does not do.
Would be nice to see a review of Dell's new 7280 business Ultrabook. There isn't a single English video review of it on UA-cam.
I'd love to see a roundup and your take on the current best 2-in-1/convertibles/pc-tablets for drawing, that are still good main machines !
Is the Latitude 5285 touchscreen?
Hi. Amazing review as always. Please do a review on Dell Latitude 7285. Looking forward to it....
What about cube mix plus? This tablet has pretty sweet feature for it's price.
For some reason the core i3 model is currently listed for 3.5k dollars in Australia store...
Did I see an extra USB A port on the charging brick?
Great review as always! As a fellow lefty, does the pen attach magnetically to both sides of the tablet or just the right? And any likelihood of a 7285 review as well?
it would be helpful if u could do a product review for Dell Inspiron 7560..
Hi there.... could you review the Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 in please
So what is the first thing comes to your mind when it comes to art and tablets?
So when the Surface Pro 5 is released, will the Surface Pro 4's price drop?
some like me have display issues with the SP4. One blogger on MS suggested that the problem with heat dissipation on the video chip. Has MobileTechReview looked at this?
That microphone hooked on to your shirt, what is it? Brand and model ##? Please?

The Eve V is what I'm going to be buying once it's available. I recommend you to look into it also.
The white balance shifted to a redder tone at 3:53
could you get the lenovo yoga 720 13 and 15
sindiso Ncube YES
Great review. Bought it used for my mom - she doesn't do much with it, but is used to Windows and her Iconia W700, but that one is really getting old...
great video master Jedi👍

The Black metal looks so good.
SHould i still buy one of these in 2022
How do you know the SP5 will have a USB-C port? I mean, we all hope that's true, but is it guaranteed?
Dell did such a good job on xps line to minimise the bezels (except for awkward camera placement), why this has such big bezels?
Amad C cuz when used as a tablet, you kinda need thicker bezels to hold onto without covering the screen with your palms
That’s true and actually the entire reason all these so call windows tablet PCs come standard with extra thick bezels
8:30 R.I.P
I'm presuming the RIP is for the Galaxy Note 7?
I'd say so.
year 2021. sadly i don't find any dell latitude 5285 on sale anymore:( i want to purchase a dell 5285 so bad
im in Philippines tho so ig that's to be expected:/
On ebay you can find a lot of them. Search for international seller that ships to Philippines
You can take the Dell apart and replace the battery. This warrants the purchase over the surface pro
hi my uncle gave me his dell latitude 5290 dont have the accessory (pen) can scroll around the screen and im restricted on doing a factory reset is there anyway i can do a full reset?
thank you in advance

Keyboard and touchpad not working, what's problem,?help please
Will the LTE work with T-mobile? SIM
can you also review Lenovo Miix 720? no one seems to be keen to review it. But it's one of the best surface pro alternatives
could you please do a review of the Honor 8 pro ? / the Honor V9 ?

Hi, I love your reviews. They are very detailed. Please do a comparison between X1thinkpad yoga vs elitebook X360 G2 vs Latitude Surface pro 5
I watched your review but I have a question. I'm an artist and I see the specifications and I love it but I dont find much information about the pen. What brand is you neck-microphone?
can I use surface keyboard for Dell Latitude 5285?
Hey Lisa, Quick question.
Which has better integrated graphics?
the surface 4 with iris 540 intel graphics or the Dell latitude with 620 HD intel graphics?
Thanks!
Lisa, when can we expect Galaxy S8 review from you?
Yes indeed!
Great! Um.. any word on when?)
MobileTechReview Lisa please make a review of the Acer - Aspire R15 . Love all you reviews the best in UA-cam.
I'm looking into a surface type of tablet or thinking of getting the HP360 laptop but not sure I just need it for email and PowerPoint, excel and to do word documents like reports what do you suggest
i "accidentally" deleted my OS on my latitude is there any way to reinstall it again? it doesn't boot up anymore
Can I use its keyboard dock for dell xps 12.5 4K convertible????
Hi Lisa, can it be charged with a normal (5v) powerbank via USB C?
Is the no thunderbolt support?
I get why they did this, but why not just go all the way and make it the same size, so u have the option to use a surface keyboard.
Should I get this or HP Spectre x2?
please do a review on the new Lenovo Yoga 720 15"...
Hey lisa can you review the new lenovo yoga 720?
what are the camera options and specs for this machine?
Lenovo 720 Quad Core Pleasssssseeeeee. What happened to their canvas?
We'll get the Dell Canvas 27 in May, Dell tells me. As for the Lenovo Yoga 720, I'm hoping any day.
Great, thanks for letting me know. I really hope it's excellent because there just isn't anything that powerful on the market convertible wise.
Thanks, they seem to be really slow rolling this one out. Have you received it? great video thanks!!
Remember that the core m is now core I5y and i7y, I think there is an m3 though
please suggest me a convertible laptop that is best for paint and sketching.
Can you do a review of the Lenovo Yoga 720 15in? I'm in the market for a small gaming/art convertible laptop. (I'm deciding between the Yoga 720 and HP Spectre x360.). Thanks!
Lenovo still hasn't gotten review loaners out yet. I'm hoping they do so soon!
Aight! Thanks!
Why no Thunderbolt why?!!
can you compare it to lenovo miix 720 & acer switch 5? please :)
Watching this on a recently purchased SP4 and I still would prefer this over the Dell
Can you open it an replace the hard drive?
Nice, more Surface clones! Still, hoping you can get your hands on another clone, the Asus transformer 3 pro! The thunderbolt 3 on it and being promoted with Asus' new external GPU has me intrigued
I was just wondering about the s8 review
So those complaining about reviewing the Chinese/Taiwanese "Clones" will be complaining just as much about this American model right? Right? Anyone?
no infinity display D:
I wish for a pro 5 😪😪
Rumors say the Surface Pro 5 will likely release October.
Chris Zacharias
I'm trying to hold out as well
Microsoft released news that there is no Surface Pro 5 coming soon. I think on the 23rd May 2017 they will release a performance bump on the surface pro 4.
same here
So should I wait? I want a surface pro i love the style, but if the 5th one is coming Id rather wait.

how does this compare in power to the vaio z canvas?
This is less powerful but arguably has a more practical keyboard to carry with you.
now i am in a good mood
