    Washer went out in the outside laundry during a pouring rain, at 8pm. After an hour of scrolling videos, i watched yours. washer was working in less than 5 minutes. Thank you, and a happy 2022 from this happy 23 year old!

      Ours is as well. We have, what I assume to be, a slightly older model. I think we’ve had it for about 12 years now and just recently started encountering the f-21 error.

    Dude, Have heard of the WW2 fighter pilot that was reprimanded for lengthy narrative on his after action report. After his next sortie he reported "Sight,Ship,Sank,Same." Thank you for finally getting to the point it did fix the problem and you saved me a $75 house call. But please get to the point sooner and BTW it would have been nice to say have told us to have at a least a 1 gallon flat container to hold the affluent. Just saying...

      Glad It was helpful. It was only a 8 and a half min video and I had a container in front of the drain. Thanks for watching

      I filled a 1 gallon pail, then grabbed a 5 gallon and filled that too. Be prepared with some old towels

    I've had multiple Kenmore or Whirlpool appliances over the years. The nicest thing I can say about them is they are easy to fix. And I just made $1.36 doing this same clean out.
    Also, for the commenters who can only carry one tool at a time...the three screws are 1/4 inch.

      I gave that washer and dryer away and bought a new whirlpool set. I have had to repair the dryer twice in 3 years or less. They are easy and the parts are cheap but garbage.

    Thanks, this helped a lot. I’ve been meaning to do this since the tiktok craze of cleaning this trap out but just finally got to it. I’m embarrassed to say it’s the first time cleaning it since we got it about 12 years ago. Ours was FULL of change but nothing too scary or stinky.

    Which drain pump did you get off of Amazon?

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  3 роки тому

      Sorry I don't remember. It was over 2 years ago. I probably just looked it up for the machine on Amazon.

    So how did you crack it open

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  7 місяців тому

      Feel around on the very bottom of the front panel. I think there's 4 1/4 HEX head screws along the bottom. I got rid of those 4 years ago or I would go look.

    Would have been nice if you could show how you removed the panel

    • @HotRodDave

      3 screws on the bottom of the panel

    Hi, how do you unscrew the bottom part of the machine to take it off? What tools do you need to take it off?

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  3 роки тому

      To remove the cover panel I use an extension and a socket and ratchet. I don't remember the size. It was a few years ago. I think there is a few on the bottom and top

    Maybe you all should start checking your pockets before you throw your laundry in. I’ve had same washer for 14 years and got that error once and the only thing in there was 2 quarters...not the treasure trove you pulled out. Lol.

      When I made the video we had just moved in and the washer and dryer was already in the house. You are correct that will make them last longer.

    Dude u skipped the whole tool to use

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  Рік тому +1

      My bad. It takes standard hand tools I think a 1/4 socket and maybe a screw driver

  • @ArleneRegos

    Does anybody have a video that can explain how to remove that bottom panel?

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  9 місяців тому

      I don't but there are 1/4 head nuts if I remember correctly on the bottom. It's not hard to get to them but you may have to lay down on the floor to see them

  • @digital_sorceress

    you skipped the actually most relevant part - how to get the front cover off... :(

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  Рік тому +1

      Take the bolts out they are on the bottom in the front.

      @@HotRodDave Thanks - I did find them eventually... when I come to Toob for a "how to repair" half the time it's really about "how to access it without damage" (like when you need to pull a part from your car interior or open a unibody laptop etc.. just knowing where to apply the pressure or look for the access points is really key for me

    • @HotRodDave
      @HotRodDave  Рік тому +1

      I totally understand. I do the same. I was not thinking of making a video when I started that repair and then thought someone may need this information and grabbed a camera. Thanks for the feedback and watching.

      @@HotRodDave thank you for sharing it - it DID encourage me to get down and do the thing and it seems my issue was absolutely 20+ years worth of lost coins and jewelry and muck.... so it did ultimately fix my issue
