F21 Error Code On Washing Machine

  • F21 error code has come up twice in four years on our machine. Both times we had baby socks stuck in drain filter at the bottom of the washing machine. To unclog it, remove the bottom panel and hand twist off the white cylindrical filter in the center and front.
Make sure you have a plan for the water which may come out. Remove whatever is causing the clog and put it all back together and you're back in business for another ~4 years! Or you can stop having kids so you don't have to unclog baby socks.

I wanted to thank you soooo much for posting this video! Your washer is the only make model video I could find! My hubby washed the dog bed and didn't shake it out so we had tons of dog hair also a baby sock. I was spending soooo much $$$ at the laundry mat. I finally got P.O.ed enough and fixed it myself thanks to you.

We had the F21 error code on our Maytag washer. I just followed along the video. Removing the cover at the bottom on the washer was a pain but this video clearly helped us save $400+ service call. Make sure you don't have any clothes and any water in the washer when cleaning the drain. Thank you for posting the video with such details.

Thank you for sharing this! My only critique is not showing what the screw that was in the bottom of the washer was. I couldn’t figure out what to use and then I played the video back and heard you what to use with the drill but the music did a crescendo right then so the words were obscured. And some advice because of experience- I have had this issue with the f21 code 3 times and twice it was socks stuck in the drain. I bought mesh laundry bags for socks and small items and I haven’t had the problem since. This time it was latex glove. Mesh bags have saved me fear of losing a mate as well. Thanks for the video!!!

The drained water on washer frame and floor is a potential shock hazard with the appliance still energized. Maybe add a banner message in the beginnning of the video?

Hey bro love your stuff. I'm SoCo STL. Cardinals playoffs!!! Flaherty, Goldy, YADI, Waino, Blues next week....watchout! STL on the map again, not like we left though, Nelly will tell ya. Unrelated to this vid, but wanted to ask...how do you like Mazama? I'm doing a partial reno in the back. I have some SPF-30 KBG thats supposed to be a Texas bluegrass/KBG hybrid. but also have Mazama. I threw down the SPF-30 on my hell strip just because its on a busy street and my backyard is like most peoples fronts. Zoysia is 95% of whats around my area (along with Fescue, which I dont personnally like). Zoysia is probably old school 60's stuff (meyer) but looks good when its treated right. Hittin it with humic, kelp and my own little concoction, (you know how clay is). Our high and low temps are pretty drastic, along with humidity, so basically what I'm asking is... you think you'll be happy with Mazama? It looks really good so far. My mowers are nothing special, but I'd like to go low, as of now using a combo Lawn Boy rotary with a fiskars stay sharp push reel where possible. I dont have Connor Wards lawn budget! haha. I'd love a powered reel! Someday....Fellow St. Louis....Thanks for your service brother!

You'll love Mazama, and cut around 1.5-2" will do real good here. My second spring hell strip reno I cut longer. It will also do good shorter with slightly more attention.
Another thing to consider is i added and mixed in sand to my st Louis clay.😉

P.s I had to run and buy sockets because I didn't have the one I needed and I pulled the package open and ripped my finger open. My day sure started crappy.

So I had a employee come out tech and he told me the quote for a door lock and motor control board I replace both of those and my clothes are still wet and they tell me it’s the pump I replace the pump it doesn’t work anybody have ideas for a Maytag 4000 series and it’s not spinning hard either and the estimated time remaining stays there for couple minutes per minute if that makes sense let me know, please
