      If you never had a single traffic ticket, talk to the officer politely then ask for a warning. I have dozens of warnings for traffic violations and since I never had a written off, they always give me a warning. Just tell the officer that you never had a ticket before so if he can let you go for a warning.

Drove for a living and everywhere was at throw away license speeds,so reluctantly had to sell (needed my job ). Thank you for this Great review. I bought mine in September, too. To me it is the best Ducati I ever bought.
    I am 183 cm and rider position is perfect to me.
    Due to folding up behind the screen wind protection and noise is much better than on my Multistrada I had before. Touring is no problem. Rosso Corsa II tires work perfect even in cold conditions. Electronics are superb.
    Suspension is firm, but not stiff (don‘t know how to describe this in english). At the front I opened rebound and pressure to the max. What really is nice to try: race mode (engine dynamic and engine break 1). Absolute sporty🏁💪.
    Wish you a lot of fun 🍀☀️.

    A beautiful Bike and thanks for this Andy. In my slavish attempts to have a four cylinder bike in the garage, I ruled this V2 out by default, so it’s the Streetfighter for me. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic bike and, like you, I loved my test ride in the summer! Unfortunately here in the Western Pennines it hasn’t stopped raining for what seems like years and even a quick run out on any bike, let alone that beauty, means prolonged cleaning in the garage!!! Probably one if the best looking and most useable road bikes Ducati has ever made. The V4 is really too much for the road a bit like the bonkers Aprilia RSV4. The V2 lays in that magic 150bhp area which seems to be the real world limit for good tractable fast fun on road which is manageable.

      Rode the Panigale V2 and the streetfighter V2 (and monster and Multistrada V2 thanks Josh and SMC Sheffield) and yes the Streetfighter V2 is more comfortable but the Panigale had much chuckling and talking to myself saying “what a thing” and “what a weapon” where the Streetfighter I was going very Cumfy, great shifter and blipper, no wind protection, bit of a hookigan but would be bored in no time vs the Panigale.
      None of the other bikes I rode yesterday came close to how exciting the Panigale v2 was. I would put up with the weight on the wrists and the burning thighs and other bits to ride it. At least for a few more years before I’m ready for the pipe and slippers that come with the Multistrada !

    Hi Andy. Great review as always. Lovely looking machine but I think I like the headlights on the 899 more. I,m an old git [58 and been riding since 1978] and riding one of these would probably finish me off. Have you seen the new [well upgraded] 950 Supersport. It has a very similar fairing to this but with a more comfortable riding position. I think it is a bit more torquey down low in the rev range so could well be a better road bike. Anyway ride safe mate and take care.

    Thank you for posting. From my perspective, the most beautiful bike manufactured today. I also like the looks of the Aprilia RS660, but have not seen it in person yet. Looked into purchasing a V2 a few months back. There are two dealerships in my state. Could not really establish a good feeling with either one of them. One never returned phone calls or emails. The other sold so many different brands of bikes and ATVs that they couldn't care less if they sold a V2 or not. Hence, making me wonder about customer service down the road. Instead looked into and ended up purchasing the S1000RR. The seating position seems more comfortable than the V2, but the mirrors! Yikes, I would wager they vibrate more than the V2. It is just a blur. I could say they are useless, but I would be paying them a compliment. :)

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer  3 роки тому

      Yes there's no doubt the S1000RR is an easier bike to live with - like an "old mans" sport bike (not a criticism by the way, I am an old man and can see the appeal as a panigale owner!)....

I’ve always loved the Ducati looks and sound but I’ve always been out off by the compromises as I generally only keep one bike at a time and like to commute on my bike when the weather is ok. I’m 57, only got a full license in Jan and have put over 4,000 miles on a CBR650R since, rode the Panigale V2 last Saturday and compared to the CBR it’s a good bit more wristy, but not as bad as I expected it to be. I wouldn’t want to spend four hours on it or tour it round the Austrian Alps like I did on the CBR but what a bike, I would definitely love to have one even so!
      Pegs were higher but because they are also further back that didn’t bother me at all.
      Wristyness would be a pain if you spend a lot of time in town at slow speeds commuting, not so bad at speed though.

I'd love a Panigale but I'm not interested in the track and realistically and practically I think a Supersport would be a better fit for me, while still being lovely to look at.

    Just so you know, the North American market 959's had the underslung exhaust like the rest of the Panigale range. So it would probably be a simple matter of plug-and-play to put the N. American factory Ducati exhaust on your bikes over there. If you need to get it emissions tested...just put the "standard" Euro exhaust back on.

The V2 is described in other reviews as being 'wristy ' but I took one for a test and found it quite comfortable in comparison although the nuts were truly toasted!
