Master Yi has immunity to ALL cc AND damage, is running at mach 7 speed, and has a guaranteed stun (Taric E procs while Yi is in alpha). Morgana shield doesn't even break because of Kayle & Taric ult.
Yi funnel got delayed quite a bit with his nerfs in 8.13. He can no longer clear the minnions midlane with just q has to auto them all as well now. Kayle is also pretty weak right now, much better swapping her out for someone like Ornn/Shen so that you have more engage.
Kayle isn't good, I'd rather have mundo than kayle in your line up

micah deang you don't really get why kayle do ya? It's called one of the best base heals in the game, running ardent and full utility and 2.5 seconds of invulnerability plus a slow and armor shred plus movement speed bonus.
electronic dreams. Dude if we are talking about team composition, kayle would only suffice during small scrimmage. Kayle can't geal everybody, cant shield everybody. Cant speed boost everybody, if your tean composition would be face with some hard CC comp teams, kayle will say goodbye in team fights
After 4 years having this strategy in 3v3 now everybody else realize how good it is.

I remember around season 2 where mid laners used to farm wraiths and wolves, while blue side bot/red side top would farm the golems, leaving the jungler with no farm at all, because of that, junglers had to stack gp5 items, oracles and roam clearing itens and ganking
A better HS comparison would be quest rogue, literally zero interaction besides “kill them before they finish the quest”

u can interact with their 5 5s with taunts, but miracle doesn't care for board at all

Dopa already said the reason this works is due to support items being really strong. He even says support is the most impactful role right now.

- Janna, lulu,... nerf with their E and their healing and shielding which scale with redemption, ardent,..
- As you don't know, tank support's items are not worth of gold at all ( eye of equinox is less 500g efficiency, iron solari's shield is suck,...) . You can see that in competitive play where the supports, most of the time, are done with only 3 items ( ward, boot, 1 support item , a couple of pink wards and that's it )
And you're telling me, supports are strong and have the impact in the game ?
Support will always be support : they protect their carries and making plays when necessary. Most of the time , they CAN'T CARRY. They HELP OTHERS CARRY and that's the concept of being a support.
Dopa doesn't know SHIT about support role.
So this meta, support helps the jungler do the funneling and the jungler is the carry and has the most impact of the game, not the support.
This strategy is nearly unstoppable btw.

Stick to playing your Janna instead of trying to tell us that supports aren’t impactful. Obviously you don’t know how much shields and vision are worth especially at higher mmrs. Probably Below gold
The reason the hard carry can actually go full damage is because of the support and the survivability they provide. Buying full damage items increases your potential damage output not your actual damage output. The supports then make your potential damage output into real damage which is why you could argue that supports are the carry because they make sure the full damage squishy champ doesn't blow up in a milisecond. In a sense the support is carrying the damage carry

I have to disagree, this is Miracle Rogue in a nutshell because it's not as passive as doublelift explained it to be. You control the board/game with this strategy because you have to. If you don't win before it gets to late game you lose by default because of having 2 supports on your team and it's not enough to deal with the other team with full items.
Guys this is every combo deck that OTKs from hand. It's true of shudderwock it's true of malygos druid, if you let them get their combo pieces, they win.
so interacting with enemy means fight to the death? or just like korean strategy: played passive until we got a chance? and have a game with almost 2 hours?

Play early game champions and shut them down before they can get started, but that is harder said than done when the can catch mid wave under the safety of turret then farm their own jungle (So you need to invade and miss more cs).

Year 2018 LoL players discover DOTA's carry starts
***Dota's Carry strats from several years ago. Now it's generally a 3 protect 2 instead of a 4 protect 1 (at least in the pro scene).
In YGO terms I can only relate this to a Quasar rush or Six-Sam-Archer burn.
As long as you go second and top deck a non-burn you can OTK or establish complete board control.
And with Quasar you can’t even Ash or Ogre it out, you need Droll-Lock.

Yep, can't remember which though. You can skip champ select and see which are running funnels though through team comp. On Cloud9's channel they have a VOD of Sneaky running gold funnel kaisa in C9 Academy vs. OpTic Academy. Stalled out a 3k gold deficit until Sneaky hit his power spike and two teamfights later they were up 6k.
Game essentially turns into who can carry harder. The idea is to give no shits about anyone but yourself if you're getting funneled.
Watch Griffin vs SKT game 1 because not only does it show the strat working but it's an extremely good game. Not LCS but lets be real, LCK is a level up :P

Don't know hearthstone but the explanation reminds me of the Exodia decks (Yugioh), that stall and only have cards that allow milling, drawing and putting in hand from deck or graveyard. You need to kill them before they have the setup to retrieve every piece in their hand.

Played against it yesterday and it can be really oppressive. The only counter to it is to hope that you have aware teammates.
Played against Taric + Yi yesterday as Jax jungle and they would occasionally walk in my jungle and there was nothing for me to do except concede the camp and abuse the feeding bot lane.
Its an actually op strat right now.
So basically you have to win before miracle rogue can get their setup? smorc hunter then which translates to a team that focus everything into early game imediate snowball and mid game.

The golden age s2 s3 was.. S2 azubu frost counter dragon stalls by picking late game comps.(adopted from clg.eu) They wouldnt mind being behind all game. This was countered by skt. They perfected the pick-comp. Zed, bengi, etc.

Honestly, AdCs have an active player taking care of them and putting all the chips and praying that your ADC is good enough to win the game. But when Junglers and Midlanders do it's wrong.

The reason it's broken is because midlaners have more farm and map pressure than the bot lane. A large portion of jungle dominance comes from scuttle now meaning a mid laner and jungler with a decent combo can go both top and bottom jungle to get the xp and farm from scuts as well as roam both bot and top where as an adc or any champ that's bot lane doesn't have that ability. That's why it's broken. That's the professional logic behind it. In solo que none of the shit matters really since everyone is bad. Also since the tank meta no adc has been able to solo win the game unless you're low elo. Unfortunately junglers will never be the new adc since theres never been an iteration of the jungle that provided the jungle with this much vision pressure and xp. i doubt you even care since you're whining but in the instance you do, here's some knowledge.

Old Arubato No, that won’t happen. Gold funneling strats only work the best when you have full communication with your team, and you know how to exactly execute your strategy. This won’t happen in Solo queue. If the rest of the team can’t be on the same page, this strategy will simply fail even if the Mid and Jungler are duo. Only smurfs/boosters know to play this effectively. And obviously, this strategy is also broken in professional play.
Junglers will be junglers and Marksmen will still be the carries. It will require a huge fuck up from Riot to completely gut ADCs out of the carry role. They already fucked them up with crit item rework, but it’s still not enough to make them completely garbage in the late game. If the game reaches 40+ mins and an ADC still can’t do shit then yes, ADCs will be considered absolutely useless...
You say fuck tank meta yet adcs are the ones that "counter" the tank meta.. so don't whine when tanks become dominant again. It is an endless "meta" cycle (Tank Meta,ADC meta,Assassin Meta)that Riot has been doing and they tried to "break" the cycle this time. Meta comes into fruition by Riot buffing the "counter" to whats strong against the "meta" Tanks

Wouldn't a counter be to have your jungler add pressure to the bot lane and/or invade enemy jungle whenever their jungler starts helping mid? It would require your mid to be able to hug the tower and fend them off but I feel like it's a decent way to take advantage of this kind of strategy? I'm not a pro so I'm sure I'm missing something.
No you are correct, there are counters to the strategy. Mostly it is to have lane pressure mid (need to be able to push lane in fast whenever they leave midlane to so they lose gold/xp from going into the jungle) and to try to snowball the sidelanes through constant ganks. Early invades help as well since it pushes back the timer on when the funnel comes online. Also having pick potential is huge as if you are able to kill off their main carry the rest of the enemy team is useless/does no damage.
Honestly, I’m not a pro but the strategy is bad and not fun. Yeah it’s working but that’s cuz no one knows how to play against it yet. It won’t last. There are so many champs that can simply destroy comps like gold funneling. But i simply don’t like gold funneling it’s too boring to watch.
not really unbeatable actually but your team needs to have hard cc to be able to win like fiddle and lulu is a very very big counter to taric yi start but lulu is also a very good 2nd support for taric yi strat as well

Gold funneling forces the enemy team to play proactive in the early game to counter it because once the carry champ gets rolling (in terms of gold/kills) it is over!
Don´t know why that is a problem tho, since the 8.13 patch already destroyed that strat and every champ who abuses it!
Patch 8.13 brought a few nerfs to funnels, but they'll likely still be around. We broke it down in our 8.13 tier list (also published today!)
It just nerfed the most used champs for the strategy. You still can do kaisa + braum, lucian + lulu, any hyper carry + support. They need to need the root of the problem: jungle exp.
That is not true! Kai´sa and Lucian + Braum/shield support is NOT a funnel strat! That is a normal bot lane in the mid! They just abuse the multiple factors that make it a funnel and riot nerfed those too!
Funnel is good because of bad catch up exp in jungle, supports too broken with no more gold needed for sightstone and the op gold/5 items only they can buy + the insane gold one player can get from kills and killing the carry doesn´t do much because the shut down gold was 1 player only and only with 3+ kills.
8.13 nerfed nearly all of those factors, besides Kai´sa being broken (they might want her in bot so they didn´t nerf her)
8.13 _delays_ the strat, but doesn't stop it. It's still there, and there are A LOT of workarounds for the nerfs.

Imo you can counter it as a jungler by ganking and getting ur other lanes ahead also getting drakes and herald. That way all the other enemies will be useless and the match will basically turn into a 5 vs 1.
u know that the funneled jungler can do that as well, this whole strategy is making the mid a support and jungler a carry. this strategy is broken in 5v5s when the whole team works around the funneled jungler, meaning that they'll freeze lane and not overextend making it hard to gank. and did u not watch the video at all or faced it against a premade 5 group, the funneled jungler will always have the stronger jungler presence as they have more farm and are often a dueling jungler. meaning that u struggle competing for drakes, crabs and baron. the only real counter is super hard cc or lvl 1 invades.

I know this is a lol esports channel but I think talking about strategies from dota that were similar to this that would be useful to explain. There was a lot of stacking up jungle camps for the carry to take and supports that stayed out of lane in dota when I still played it. This sort of strategy is only crazy in perspective of the adc bot lane meta that has been in league so long. Giving all the gold to the carry wasn't strange in that dota.

I gave up on the idea of riot wanting diversity when they forced lane roles into a stale meta and then took away the viability to run ap builds on all heroes because theyd rather release more heroes than balance the existing ones haha
Did you just call the champions, heroes? Go back to whatever game you came from. Also, they have a long list of champions they want to rework. They have separate teams working on each. One team works on new champions, and another team works on fixing old ones. Please educate yourself about the facts before you spread false information.
Go 131 where top clears top jung and bot clears bot jung (pref an ap champ with good waveclear) the pressure mid will make it hard for the funnel while your sidelanes get fed.

to counter, just 2 vrs1 taric at lvl 2. you need to be jungler, when that wave pushes u need it to go and intercept and try to deny yi from getting those minions. if you manage to get it on your own pace easy win.

DocCube No, the funneling can be done to anyone. Doublelift can just pick Kai’sa and Xmithie can just play Braum and now Doublelift becomes the carry. It’s not about him not being the carry anymore, it’s just that this strategy is just dumb. It requires no interaction with the enemies and you just win through PvE. That’s not what League is about at all. The reason why Riot is making such changes is so that the games become more exciting with more fights rather than the Season 7’s Ardent Censor meta, where it was simply farming for 30 mins. Gold funneling strats are the complete opposite of what Riot wants as they remove even laning as an interaction with the enemy...
Also TL hasn't been an ADC focused team anyway.

Can we start thinking outside the box now finally? This playstyle is really predictable and at every point in the game you know exactly what the duo is going to do. They give up objective control with that strategy so your Jungler can take rift and dragons. Their Jungler is never able to gank bot or top so you can pick absolute bully lanes and go HAM in early on them because you dont need to respect Jungle pressure. They need time to duo farm the jungle so with a hardshove champ like Aur. Sol you can put them under pressure to stay in lane as duo or miss cs/exp. Shove and roam on them. They are so busy Farming everything that you can gank lanes yourself as midlaner. Bring teleport to midlane to gain a tempo advantage on Rotations. Jungle can bring tp instead of flash too because he wont ever need it to duel the enemy Jungle cause its pointless.
There is sooo much people can do to counter this, but they arent experimenting enough. Yeah rather call for nerfs.

Dude you play a role which up until a month ago need a babysitter so you can farm. Whole team was like protect adc give him farm, was that not gold funneling. It's same but instead of adc jungler is getting that treatment.

No, you sound dumb as hell. Getting an entire lane of farm, and then both buffs, scuttle, and then more mid farm is funneling. Grabbing the 6 minions that come down your lane every 30 seconds is not the same.
How would you feel as a top laner if your jungler came every 30 seconds and took all your farm then went back to his camps? Again, and again, and again.
Gary Barlow have you ever played past lane phase? You know when grouping occurs. It literally becomes which ADC gets more items(ie gold) wins. ADC takes all the mid farm and all of the not split push lane farm. 20 minute game with a support on the jungler is preferable to watching the ADC farm items to 1 shot the 4k tank.

its counter jungle early. steal their red buff and use your jungler to gank the outer lanes that you their mid/jungle combo cant interact with. you need a very early active jungle to counter it. you also need your laners to help your jungle with scuttle. its a game of deny resources instead of gain resources.
the very big problem with this is actually your mid lane cannot give up the farm on mid because you are not using a funnel strat so lets say you deny their mid and jg bot side jungle and scuttle they still have top side jungle and mid lane to go to but you only have your jungle getting 3 sides of jungle and also your mid losing a lot of exp and gold to achieve the counter jungle not to mention your other lanes might also need to give up farm to contest so yeah your strat its not actually viable
why would your mid counter jungle? your mid pushes. HARD. get those mid minions against their turret asap so they have to keep returning to mid to get the farm. that clears up the jungle for counter farming. and the "other lanes" dont need go give up farm to grab a scuttle, first of all cause of how much scuttle is worth and second timing it with a push. the gold farming strategy is all about timing. it limits the distance they can travel. the more of your minions against their towers the less time they have to get the jungle camps, the more the jungle camps are open to your jungle stealing and the less resources the funnel has.
its not a perfect strategy, but it denies a lot and slows the funneling down significantly to the point where you should be able to compete if you arnt stupid.the only reason my strat isnt viable to you is cause you arnt trying to understand WHY i do things and what the purpose of the strat is you are too concentrated on gold funneling and thinking of a gold funnel way of stopping it.

Simisor the main flaw of your point is the funnel strat can collapse anywhere and they have the control over the majority of the map, if for example you have been spotted by the enemy ward. They can perform a 4v1 or a 4v2 so easy, they can control dragon to in just a matter of time, the only weakness of the funnel strat is if the hyper carry gets caught which is in pro plays doesn't happened that much because of 2 supps or 2 tanks team comp and one super scaling ap like vlad or super off tank like mundo, and it is so flexible too. That's why it is hard to counter in the pro tournament, it wont exist in solo q but in the pro tournament, well it would be the best team composition wins
So we're back to square one tank meta.
Whoever has the better tank, or in this case, the better cheeser, wins.

Simple thing, early game/lane bully on top and bot and strong waveclear mid. A lvl 2 Nunu can't tank a big wave and an lvl 4-5 ap mid laner. Also his mate can't really pressure cuz he is most likely without any cc. This strategy only works that well because most mid laners are a) defensive early/till 6 OR b) aggressive without strong waveclear

Move your bot lane to mid lane. Hard shove waves. Can also 3v2 invade top side jungle (with your jungler) using your push advantage.

I outscaled yi with trynd. I'd basically push yi and taric off my team completely when I go head first with tryndamere. He might have more dps but trynd hits harder and doesnt die. Only takes about 3 autos to kill yi. Even with taric ulti. Not enough. And on top of you have supp helping u a bit it's pretty decent
I mean all they gotta do is remove the huge amouts of armour on turrets in the early game that way mids can pressure objectives while they farm up

I think this meta is the most entertaining i've ever seen. Lots of plays, lots of kills and great action. The gold funneling strat do seem a bit op though but it might be that people haven't learned how to counter it properly yet.

As a master yi main, gold funneling is my biggest wet dream. I don’t do it often, but it is super fun to play with my friend who loves taric but never gets to play him. It is oppressive but no more so than just getting super fed early, and you can still shut down a yi if you play it right, it’s happened before and it’ll happen again. I think it’s just a dumb fun way to try and cheese your enemies
How to counter:
1. Press tab.
2. See 2 smites.
3. Push lvl 1 so enemy cannot farm & repeat and once u get good clear gank other lanes OR 3. Last hit and tell your jungler to gank every second wave and focus support.
Eitherway you have gold adventage so the their strat failed and it comes down to mechanical skill.
You can funnel gold as a jungler in solo .. Laner feeds then take the farm
This is basically what the ADC role has been for the past year though. You have a player whose sole goal is making sure you get gold (the support). Most of the time the jungler just camped bot as well, so that's two players pretty much dedicated to making sure the ADC gets plenty of gold, and until recently that ADC was then just an unstoppable monster once they got 2, maybe 3 items.
So the position it's done in/champions have changed a bit, but it's barely different from what's been in League for ages now.
With the ADC role having faded I think a 2 funnel strat could be interesting. Have bot and top lane with hard carries taking smite, an AD one red side and an AP one blue side, both with matching supports, then just stick a waveclear midlane there to hold the tower and jobs a good'un.
