A solid B+ from me....drafted needs...just wish we wouldve tsken Blake Corum somewhere...the Erick All pick is my favorite, even though I love Tanner Hudson
B+. My only concerns are the injury history of some of their picks and Burton's potential character issues (though I love the pick of Burton in round 3). My favorite pick was Matt Lee in the seventh round simply because I can't believe he lasted past the fifth round and I could see him starting in 2 or 3 years. I think Tanner McLaughlin will be the better tight end for the Bengals. It feels like a really good draft.
Bengals have gotten top 5 grades from some places, average grades from other places and not great grades from a couple other places. What does it all mean? We all guessing
Our draft was above average for the holes we had, and our situation. We are swinging for upside
My guess is TM he's bigger and even though he's 25 maybe being a bit older will motivate him more to be better anyways it's good to get two T.E. on the team Cincy needs one of the two to be the guy who steps up or if both does that will be great

They are all very good draft picks. I don't think it's fair to say a certain player was a reach because that's based on a individual grade compared to a team/GM is thinking more about the fit to the team. I like every pick seeing the reasoning for each pick.

B- I believe they could have gotten MIMS In the 2nd Rd cause teams I felt were shying away from him because of lack of play and past injuries and then went with DT Newton out of Illinois with the 18th pick but I believe it will end up working out as long as he stays healthy cause the talent is undeniably there

no chance Mims was getting out of the first round. there were several guys better than him, but he was getting drafted late round 1
The Bengals get an A from me. Now it’s not an A+ but it would have been if they had drafted Beaux Limmer the center from Arkansas in the 6th round before the rams got him. We had 2 6th round picks a TE and an Edge. I would have drafted the edge but my second one would have been Limmer. Now Matt Lee was my choice after Limmer. Bengals had a 5th round grade on Matt Lee a very athletic Center from Miami. The edge we got in round 6 the Bengals had a 4th round grade on him. We didn’t need an edge but dam I like the one they got. Cedric Johnson. And the one that most people are saying was a reach was our 2nd 3rd round pick MkInnley Jackson. I did not think he was a reach. In fact when they were on the clock with that 97th pick I was hoping they drafted Jackson and I guess they read my mind because they did. Jackson and Sweat were the 2 best pure nose tackles in this draft. Jackson is 6’2’’ 330 and for a nose tackle had a pretty good RAS or Relative Athletic Score. He is a great run stuffer can push the pocket and rush the passer too. A lot of what DJ Reader could do. I’m not saying he is an outright replacement for Reader yet but I’m not saying he isn’t either. DJ Reader RAS coming out was 2.01 and Jackson’s is 3.98. So almost double Readers. Plus Jackson was a team captain at Texas A&M so we know
The level of competition is great. I think Jackson weighs 326 not 330. He is faster than Reader. When Reader tested he wired 327 and Jackson 326. Jackson had a faster 40, 10 yard spit and 20 yard split. Not incredibly more but more.

PFF’s big board had Kris Jenkins as the 49th best player in the draft. The Bengals picked him 49th in the draft. Perfect value. And I’m sure Jenkins has been hearing you guys say he can’t rush the passer. I guess those 27 pressures and 2.5 sacks from last year mean nothing. No but he hears yall and this year he will let you know it by knocking down 7.5 sacks.

Not raw just inexperienced? OK. Orhorhoro was gone when we picked Jenkins. Pick 35 long gone. All was a reach imo. T Johnson or Stover was a better pick.Would take Franklin over Burton but still good pick. Newton could be our possible sleeper. Take good tape over fast 40 imo. Johnson ED MISS could also be sleeper. Love TEs named Tanner. Like Lee for a 7th. But still a 7th. Haven't had a starter from 7th since TJ over 20 years? Haven't had a 6th rd starter since............. can't remember. 5th rd- Uzomah 2015. Overall my grade

No guarantee to be a long term replacement for Tee Higgins? That’s what Mel said? Yea well Jalen Mcmillian, Roman Wilson, and Troy Franklin were also no guaranteed replacements for Tee Higgins either. If Burton had a better QB at Bama and they actually passed the ball more Burton would have easily gotten around 1200 yards and 15 tds. He still led Alabama is yards 800 and tds 8 last year. The off the field stuff is overblown bullshit. Burton if you have watched his tape you know should have been a 1st round draft pick. He is far better than a Xavior Worthy. He plays far far faster than his 4.45 40 time would suggest. His testing numbers indicate very fast acceleration very good agility good size and elite agility.
My one complaint is they failed to address the G position, which is concerning
because they have NOBODY behind Cordell Volson and Alex Cappa.

Niether tanner mc or Eric All will do much. I dont see Eric All making the 53. Not sure if any of the last 3 pic will either. A couple of the undrafted free agents the bengal picked up will do well.

Yes Mims is a lot bigger than Tyron Smith. Smith is 6’5’’ 315. Mims is 6’8’’ 349 with not an ounce of bad weight in him. His body type is incredible. He has only 15% bidy fat. Yes agreed he isn’t raw he is just inexperienced. When he played he looked almost perfect. In 810 snaps he allows 0 pressures. 0 hits, and 5 pressures. And no he won’t immediately start. We signed Trent Brown. So Mims will sit behind him this year but I’m sure they will get him some game times this year and if Trent Brown or when Trent Brown gets hurt Mims is up.

Yes and about Kris Jenkins. He can and will become a better pass rusher. You know why? Last year the Rams drafted Kobie Turner in the 3rd. In college he was a small nose tackle who was a good run stopper but wasn’t known as a pass rusher. The most sacks he had in a season were 2. Yea he had 9 sacks in the NFL this past year. And Kris Jackson is faster and a better athlete than Turner is or was. What happened in college means nothing now. Jenkins was the second best , after Devondre Sweat, run defender in the country last year. I’m predicting 6-7 sacks for Jenkins this year.
