- This wild, but tame Great Grey Owl is still actively "hunting" out in the open and is enjoying herself posing to the cameras near Oulu, Finland. See a new set of Harri Taavetti's images at finnature.fi/photo_album.html..... In this video She flies to catch a mouse and eats it directly in front of camera and flies away.

I love how he looks at the camera for a second after landing, "is this for me? :)"
ive never seen an animal give less of a fuck than this owl.
"Am I looking good from this angle, or am I looking good from this angle?"
Incredible and stunningly beautiful bird
What a beautiful animal.
me: - is just standing and watching-suddently screams out- OH MY GOSH ITS TWILIGHT!
"Oh, wings of silver spread on high,
Fierce eyes of golden light,
Across the clouds of purple hue
In sheer majestic flight-Oh, Twilight!
Oh, Twilight, most beautiful of owls,
Who sculpts the air
Beyond compare.
With feathers so sublime,
An owl for now-
An owl for then-
An owl for all of time."
So alert when on the ground after eating.....the owl knows it's vulnerable......simply amazing !
last week i had a great grey owl on my hand... it's amazing how light they are although they're so big :)
+Marlyn Logo I bet that was amazing. I have a video on my channel petting a great grey owl but never got to hold one. Were his claws digging into you ?
My hand and my arm were covered in a thick leather glove. Now I'm going to see your video ;)

thanks for posting
That owl looks very healthy and well fed lol
What a beautiful owl it is.
So beautiful, thank you for sharing this incredible video!
She's HUGE. *-*
And so fricken cute. I LOVE OWLS!!!!!!
Joshua Adams they're AWESOME :D
Sergiocrivelin she aint fat, she fluffy!!
Hmm. It is nice to observe nature at close quarters but I am against baiting. Isn' t the thrill of creeping as close as you can and watching the owl catch its own prey far more rewarding and ethical?
Hell yeah shravan!
shravansmasher yeah
What a beautiful bird!
So cute!!
SO CUTE!
Such amazing creatures!
one of the most beautiful creatures to ever grace this Earth
This video is likely a composite. The perch the owl starts on and the one it ends up on are ill-suited to be owl perches. They are obviously quite weak but they do not bend under the weight of the owl.
Beautiful gray 🦉 owl
Baiting in is a great way to get the shot.
Awesome video🦉♥️
If I am not mistaken Strix Struma is a spotted Eagle Owl. she is described as a regular spotted owl but if you search for her species you will see the similarities of the eagle Owl opposed to the regular spotted.. Eagle owls are in the Strix family. So she was referring to that. Eagle and Grey are both Strix species.
very awesome and huge bird. North America's largest owl and in terms of length, the largest in the world.
Owl: what are you staring at?
OMG sooo cute!!!
Canon eos 1d mark III? I know you got some great shots, though.
nice
this is my spirit animal
yes it is, unfortunally...
Holy crap... That's an amazing bird!!
I'm the summer, I'm traveling from Kajaani to Utsjoki, the onto Lakselv in Norway. What are the chances of seeing Great Grey, Eagle and Snowy owls during my travels?
Where did you get the mouse to feed it?
I can not even imagine that any animal aby life-form could be more beautiful and might he improved.. This owl is just an example how brilliant mother-Nature or ... How great G*d is. It's imposible to understand...
A masterpiece of GOD♥️
Great video! Very enjoyable! Greetings.

Great owl
Its common nicknames are: Phantom of the northern forest (or Phantom of the nNorth), Great grey ghost (or Grey ghost). Its scientific name, "nebulosa",is derived from the Latin word"Nebulosus", meaning misty or foggy.
Lol, before this was posted on Reddit had 40k views for over 5 years, now it has 85,000
Personally, I think of Errol from the Harry Potter series when I see a Great Grey Owl.
"Look, everyone! Weasley's got himself a howler!"
@@jdsk800 Just like that scene. and the one before it over at the burrow.
I came here to see the mouse. The horror.
If you want to see how tolerant Greys can be search Great Greys an watch one of several that shows just how much they will tolerate humans. Greys flying and hunting just a hands span away from them and even lets one of them pet him. Great vids. makes you want to just reach out an touch him yourself. OWLS RULE!!
Animale eccezionale.. stupendo ,)
On another note someone asked if they could expect to see one these greys, an eagle or a Snowy owl in their travels? I can say yes and no. Most often a grey will not come as close as this one does BUT they have bee known to be very tolerant of human presence. Eagles can be tolerant but most times no and Snowy owls are VERY protective of their nests so don't go to near them. NOT very tolerant at all. They will attack Violently if they feel threatened so be cautious and view from afar.
LOL love it!!
"No jos teillä ei oo enempää hiiriä..." :D
do owls attack humans ? how dangerous are they to people. I'm from new Jersey I've seen 3 owls in my life and they looked tougher then tough
Wow forte
he looks just like Twilight from GOG!
You tricky the owl
was this in alaska?
Can an owl swoop down, eat prey, then sit there and locate another, fly up while keeping location on the prey, then swoop down and catch it? Do owls always have to hunt from a high perch?
wonderfull animal
I like owl bird
Just like in legend of the guardians twilight caught a vole
А что? Больше не подкинут ?
Жаль, ..., Мало !
Geez twilight that was a little rude infront of the camera!
Jeezes, he lookes excactly like Twilight from 'Legend of the Guardians'.
Where's the lute?
He/she gave the csmeraman the death stare at 0:19 lmao!
How is this owl both wild and tame at the same time? Is she a trained owl posing for photographers?
I swear Negative people crack me up!!!! I love Owls they are beautiful birds and if they want to interact with humans its their right if not they don't have to!!!! I'm not going sneak up on one and grab it and say Gotcha Bitch... That a way to get its Talons put on you roughly. And if one ever landed on me I'm not going to freak out ether!!!
Baiting Wild animals isn't helpful to Nature as Humans in many cases are dangerous but since Nature is heavily persecuted by our general actions I'd say it neutralises this baiting. Depending on what Owls being fed & frequency
that look haha 00:20
silly owl,you don't know what you tube is!!! lol.
Ciao buona sera wow
🥰🦉
u know that's not good to do, but u do it any way.
maybe just bird photographers... i wouldn't try this with a lion.
I though owls only hunted on the nights :S

Great video, but please just chill out with those Annotations.
This isn't a tame owl, you are manipulating her using live food that is otherwise hard to find and using baiting in order to pretend to be a wildlife photographer. Baiting is highly unethical and will habituate her to humans, so eventually she will likely hurt herself or a human. Please consider sitting and letting nature actually takes it course. This is not wildlife photography.
+Ciconiiformes Just like it for what it is , why comment and troll here, if you don't support baiting then don't watch it, People like you with bird feeders and Hummingbird sugar water feeders or that have fed a duck some bread at a local park are just as guilty just can't seem to admit it to themselves, Hypocrites. Be glad he is just shooting with a camera man and not doing like so many hunters do maybe not with owls specifically but their are people that bait to shoot and shoot to kill. Go bother them not someone that fed an owl its natural prey for some beautiful photos and video
+mack1time It's unethical and I like these fake wildlife photographers to know that they aren't talented. This doesn't take work. This isn't how a national geographic photographer gets "the shot". And feeding prey animals is VERY different from feeding a predator, and feeding bread is horrible for birds. It would be helpful for you to understand predator/prey dynamics and behavior before commenting and pretending that you know anything. Any decent photographer, bird watcher, hawk watcher or biologist knows this is bad, and I want this person to be aware of why they are a shitty human being. Let nature be natural, don't interfere so you can get "likes" on UA-cam and Facebook.
Now makes me not so impressed with some wildlife photographers.
Such a pity. Owl baiting is now a problem all over the world.
I scrolled for a while to finally see that somebody knows whats up. Thank you!
ahahahahahah wonderfull!
if u look closer u can see its fake
Baiting wild animals is dangerous and unethical birding/photography. Don’t support such activities.
WILD life photography, what a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you threw a live mouse at this owl just because you wanted to get the shot that badly? Amateur.
Terrible...this guy is baiting owls, and causing them to become habituated. All for the sake of a stupid photo...shame on him...highly unethical!!!!!
when you say habituated do you mean teaching it to not fear humans? which presumably would be bad because they'd seek them out for food decreasing their chances of survival in the wild? I'm taking up animal behaviour at a college and have a little bit of trouble remembering all the terms and what they mean
And they are making business of that, bringing tourists to those places for photography. Finnature Oy is the firm.
this is not ethic at all. shame on you.. only for photos..
