    Imagine being a small mouse family, and at any moment gigantic claws coming through the roof can catch you, pretty terrifying

      Imagine being a gentle pig arriving at a disease ridden slaughterhouse.
      At least vital carnivores such as owls need to eat other animals to survive.
      Especially when it is absolutely unnecessary for us to consume fellow animals.

    Stunning. All owls are amazing hunters. Superb predators adapted to their environment, and without question a deadly adversary to contend with.

      As long as they eat poisoned rats they’re fine but unfortunate as the case was in the owl that had escaped the Bronx Zoo it was found dead autopsy showed signs it had ingested rat poison

    As a kid in the city, I would learn about nature from encyclopedias at the library. To see things like this is truly awesome.

    Owls are such interesting birds, I love their beautiful round faces, intelligent eyes and the incredible degree of rotation that allows them to seemingly turn their heads 360 degrees. Nature is truly amazing.

    • @einundsiebenziger5488
      @einundsiebenziger5488 Місяць тому +1

      360 degrees would be one full cirle. That of course is not possible because their necks would break and the vessels running through it would sever. 270 degrees is the most they can do, which is still impressive. Approaching an owl from behind and then having it look at you straight in the eyes with its lower body still facing forward is something you'll never forget.

      Excuse me, I saw a school presentation when I was a kid it went around 2-3X then back 1X & ready to go again, it’s just scary. They might not have those programs anymore. That was 1960-61 when we really learned things.

    I've seen them in Central Idaho which is the southern most limit of their range. When their heads are turned to the side, you can't see any of their face. It's entirely recessed into their head. When they fly over your head they cannot be heard at all. Magnificent creatures they are. Thank you for the beautiful film.

      Every owl, and in fact most animals are created by their parent animals. Some insects practise Parthenogenesis where the females sort of clone themselves to reproduce. No other species, neither real or imaginary is involved in their procreation.

    Why the need to edit in a "whoosh" sound when the owl is taking off? An owl's flight is almost completely silent, so there is no such sound and if there were, you would not be able to hear it from the distance this was filmed.

    Curious. How do you know this is a female owl? Like, I didn't see any feathered boobies or anything. I'm confused.
