I love that the podcast cameras are 2000s video quality and then we've got the secondary camera filming Sona wrapping in 4k
You can see at 4:38 that the podcast cameras are webcams, but the one through the windows seems to be a proper camera..
I got so used to the usual shitty camera on CONAF, when they cut to the phone camera I feel like a blind person just see colors for the first time.

Nice observation, I personally use the 1200-page organic chemistry book from college as my monitor stand.
Last year for Christmas I soul searched and agonized for months about what to get my father. I ended up getting him a signed copy of his favorite band's (The Platters) album. I was so proud of myself and excited for him to open it. My brother got him a machine that made fart noises. To this day the Platters record sits in a corner by their old Victrola and he plays with that fart machine constantly.

This reminds me so much of my dad…my brother and his wife got him some fancy shaving kit he has literally never used and it’s under his sink to this day. I on the other hand, got him a salt ‘gun’ that he can kill flies with and I’ve never seen the man happier in my life as he runs about the house fly hunting every chance he gets! 😂😂😂

I enjoy the podcasts more than most of the show guest interviews because they were too formulaic. That's also why I liked it more when he traveled, I like it when he improvises.
Also, there's not as much time constraint with these podcasts while TV shows are heavily edited out for time.
plus not being in front of an audience gives it a different dynamic

His brother bought the gift from Lechmere and chucked it at him. I'm from New England, and about the same age as Conan. I remember Lechmere, and appreciate his brother chucking the gift at him(had older brothers as well). Fond memories.

I actually relate to this on so many levels. My girlfriend has almost the same birthday as Conan's wife. I'm also catholic (though not Irish), and also never talked with my dad about feelings and never told him I loved him (which I regret ever since his unexpected passing).
The radio story reminds me of what we did a few years ago. We gave him a new phone for Christmas (it was the new Nokia 3310), just because he had a 15 year old phone. Being who he was, he felt that he doesn't need a new phone, because the old one still works (he was the opposite of wasteful and hated changes), so he put it back in the box and wouldn't use it. The next year, mom decided we're gonna give him the unused phone again, and so we did. He laughed it off, but I'm sure he thought "I'm not gonna use it anyway". Then, a week later, on New Year's Eve, my parents went out and took some booze with them. Somebody didn't close the bottle properly, so it spilled in the bag and killed dad's old phone. When they came back, mom would joke that she had to drown the old phone to force him to use the new one.
Awww.. anytime ten year old Conan comes out of current adult Conan I just want to give him a hug. He’s made it into comedy now but you can tell those wounds were/are there and very real too
Generational trauma is very real, and the fact that most of us have it is a reason why we're very flawed as humans. Happy for Conan for using that baggage to make other people smile

Why are the primary cameras recording at potato quality but the (seemingly) handheld camera recording through a glass window is orders of magnitude better?
