Why I’ve stuck with him since I was in elementary school. He was genuine from the start. If you watch his old videos from NBC he was the exact same person.

Conan is wrong about his show being pointless. I've watched him since I was a kid. His show was a way for my older brother and me to bond. It was also a reason for my buddies and I to get together to watch his show every night in college. When I have had personal tragedies or dark times, I have often watched Conan clips or episode as a temporary escape. I doubt Conan and his staff (from Late Night to now) will see this but if by some chance they do, THANK YOU so much for the laughter you have brought to us all over the years. It has meant more than you may think.
When I was 19, I saw this man almost break down on the set of The Tonight Show, and I'll never ever forget what he said: "no one gets exactly what they want out of life, but if you work hard and you're kind amazing things will happen." Thanks Coco, for everything.
This comment will get buried, but in 2015, I had just moved to LA and made it into a live taping of Conan’s show on a stand-by ticket. As a part of the show, Conan introduced a newer, lesser-known comedian to the audience, and then went and sat in the darkness by the edge of the stage while she did her bit. I glanced over at Conan a few times during her routine, and he was 100% engaged in what she was saying - not on his phone, not talking to an assistant, but listening and laughing with the rest of us. He could’ve been doing anything, but he was giving her his complete and undivided attention. Conan is truly a gracious, genuine, and caring person, both in and out of the spotlight, which is so, so rare in show business. Farewell Conan - you will be missed 🖤
I have a feeling we are not seeing the end of Conan, but the start of something new and truly exciting on the horizon. Keep doing what you love. Keep the faith. And keep us all laughing.
A dying breed of comedian. The only talk show host that was actually a “comedian” and was able to bring out the funny in someone by just talking to them. My favourite no matter what. You will be missed my friend.

They rely on making the guests play stupid self depricating games for laughs. Because their actual conversation skills are dry. That’s what I meant. I agree with you though. The classic talkshow were proper comedians.
I love this. One of Conan's great talents is his ability to feature his guests, highlight their attributes, create real moments on the spot, and still manage to be the host and make people laugh without hogging the spotlight.
@Bad Boys Boogie True. No games or gimmicks. But he does need 3-4 guests on a sofa at a time though. I mean Conan takes a camera man and just go back stage and talks to his staff and that’s a more funny bit than anything I see on the other shows. I don’t know how many other hosts can do that.
One thing about Conan that really stood out to me is the length of time so many on his staff stayed with him through thick and thin. I don't think there's any better evidence to point to about his character, not as a celebrity, but just as a human being.

Andy Richter is low-key one of the wittiest people ever to be on TV. His comments are always perfectly timed, never pulls too much focus from what's going on, and is often if not always the funniest thing said in the block.
Yep! The only other sidekick I could laugh with was Geoff the Robot Skeleton on Craig Ferguson's show ("Balls") .... Fallon's Higgins? Not so much, in fact it was a joy to watch Fallon during the pandemic because there was no Higgins and more The Roots!
This was a real full circle moment for Conan. He never got to finish his dream on The Tonight Show at NBC. Especially after years of Hard work to get there. Thats why his last message on there was If you work really hard and you’re kind amazing things will happen. Low and behold, TBS gave him that opportunity and he learned in those 11 years it doesn’t matter where you are, what matters is doing what you love with the people you love and you can hear the happiness in his voice. Theirs been a lot of all time great Late Night Show Hosts, but none have never been and never will be Conan O’Brien.
When conan said "heaven on earth" he almost cried for about 0.8sec before converting the sob energy to a seemingly ill delivered "so goodnight, thank you very much!". When i noticed that, i almost cried too because i never saw conan almost break character unintentionally. TEAM COCO we love you very much! we will follow you wherever you go! HBO MAX LETS GO!

And Conan was also a great interviewer. He sat and listened, while rarely interjecting, and he never turned an interview into being about himself, unlike most other talk show hosts nowadays.
Conan literally saved my life. When my sister died, his show became my refuge. I wouldn’t have made it through high school or middle school without him. This is crushing in so many ways.

I learned English watching him too!! Watched the silly promos for a so called "COCO on TBS" show every night during Lopez Tonight, and then watched the first COCO episode. Been hooked ever since.
Andy Richter always has to be praised in the highest level possible. The perfect addition to Conan and to the show, obviously a great personality and what a brilliant, dry humor. Both did great and I enjoyed many moments of this show. Thank you from Europe, stay always healthy
So strange seeing him go. His energy and 'smart-stupid' creativity always made him feel like the exciting new guy because he was leagues ahead of everyone else, even those who were kids when he got started.
Thank goodness he's just moving to HBO Max, although it is going to feel strange seeing him on a new show without his traditional talk show format that we've all become accustomed to over the last 28 years. It's going to feel even more strange when he says farewell for real and retires from television all together one day.
As sad as I am for Conan to leave the late night format, he's outgrown it. Since his traveling pieces and music tour happened, he showcased his innovative spirit. HBO will be a great avenue for him to take his talent to another level. Good luck on your new journey COCO.
I want to see him back in New York with Max & Smigel & white stripes , but that new york from 99-05 no longer exists , it's gentrified af now. Honestly Conan thrives without the late night format. If you’ve noticed he’s a lot more free on his podcast. And I don’t think Conan like those phony interviews that he used to have to do.I saw conan say he didn’t like interviewing a 2nd guest that nobody ever heard of with no life experience. He likes the podcast format because it more like a conversation. I just think he’s out grown the semi scripted interviews. In my opinion he’s funny on his own without writers. He’s just too good at improvising comedy in the spot. That’s why I like his podcast but I’m definitely excited for his new show even tho I don’t really understand what it’s going to be like. Does anyone know? Will Andy be on the new show?
What made Conan O'Brien so special wasn't his interactions with celebrities, but his remotes. His ability to make complete strangers laugh and connect with him was what made him so special. Every single remotes he has created are masterpieces, as it shows how down to earth and humble Conan really is. He is such a wonderful human being that gives you so much joy in your life. His creative mind and quick and witty jokes are what makes Conan the King of Late Night. I really hope we get to see more of his wonderful remotes and his interactions with Jordan, Sona, and Aaron on HBO Max. Thank you so much Conan for the last 28 years.

Instead of talking about himself, he mostly thanked and praised pretty much his entire crew, he paid respect and named a lot of individuals that made this possible for him, he was humble and he was generous and of course, as always, he was hilarious. He will go down in history as one of the best hosts of all time
They all had segments. This was i think off the cuff thanks to his ride or die from the 90s gang and you could tell cause he choked up at the very end.

I used to work 12 hour shifts overnight when I was in the military. Conan and Andy got me through many long nights. This was back in the late 90's into the early 2000's. Thank goodness they allowed us to have TV in the office! I miss those days dearly. At the time, I wouldn't have ever believed that I would have said that all these years later. Thanks for the memories Conan and Andy.
Someone who really deserves everything he’s gotten and more - likely the last great late night host ever. Watching him on UA-cam throughout high school lead to some of the biggest laughs I’ve ever had. Thanks for the memories.

Here before the millions…. Conan has been my ROCK for so many years. Not only is he naturally hilarious and dominates the stage, but he does so with grace and ease. His remotes will never be matched. Jordan, Sona, and Andy can never be replicated, his self-deprecating humor, seamless interviews, and GOD-TIER improv will forever be legendary. Only late night host that has EVER been able to make me laugh uncontrollably. He just did what no other host would for the sake of comedy, killed his way through the Leno controversy, and even in his final moments here, he’s still thinking about OTHERS. A true testament of his character. 🙏🏽 I just love his raw humor, intelligence, and sincerity! The term “legend” is truly an understatement. He’s the comedian of a generation. 🔥 As he closes this chapter, and opens another, he’ll still hold the crown as King of Late Night in my view. Most people note Conan being the only actually funny talk show host nowadays, which is true and something I love Conan for, but furthermore for me is his genuineness. When I watch Conan I see him as a buddy, he’s a loveable dumb goofball, he feels like a person unlike other talk show hosts that are robotic unfunny shills. I've seen a lot of footage of old talk shows from before I paid any attention to them and/or before I was born, and Conan is very much the new Carson... back then he seemed like the only one who was actually funny and charming and had zero ego.
I started to cry when he began talking about his wife, what a quality guy and by far the funniest late night comedian that i personally have ever seen.
If you’ll humor me, and without trying to be too pretentious, Conan is like the punk rock of late night hosts. Irreverent, sincere, approachable, cutting edge, a mixture of high and low brow, the real thing. When he came out, people thought he was awful and wasn’t going to last. But he proved everyone wrong. Conan has been the one of most influential comic minds of the last 25 years, everyone who is anyone now has been inspired by him in some way, whether it’s obvious or not. But more importantly he shaped multiple generation’s senses of humor, myself included. He’s brought so many people happiness. He never sold out what was important to him. He was both the last classic late night host and the first modern late night host. Even though he hasn’t always been treated well or given mainstream attention like other hosts , he maintained his dignity and integrity. I know he’s still going to make us laugh for a long time coming, but his legacy is sealed. We all know who is going to be remembered the most fondly out of this generation of hosts. And as someone who clearly looked up to a lot of comedy legends, I hope Conan knows he’s going to be one of them. We love you dude, bravo.
Well said. I’ve followed Conan since the late 90’s. Started watching late night television because of him. When the hole “Late Night” fiasco with NBC happened back in ‘09/10. I rooted the hardest for him. Went to his show he was touring before joining TBS. Had the privilege to attend one of his shows and to this day I have kept up with him. I’m excited for his next adventure and a little sad at the same time. He will truly be remembered as one of the greats.

I think it's only fitting that Conan, the kindest, most genuine person I've seen on television, humble and real and wise like he is, gave such a classy goodbye and moved on to the next chapter in his life. Conan is not the kind to hold onto something just because he has power in it. I have had literally one contemporary idol and role model in life, and this man is it. Conan always talks about how when he first came out doing his talk show 93 that he didn't know what it was doing but I remember watching it and they were kicking ass from the get-go man big time self-deprecating humor it was like nothing that was on TV it was so much better than everything that was on and I enjoyed some of the other stuff
Craigy Ferg was an absolute riot when he was on! Was sad when he stepped down. Now with Conan leaving and moving on to a possible different format, it does feel like the late night era is over. I'm gonna support Conan through his new adventures though!

Couldn't agree with this more. I've been watching him for 20 years now and kept video files of all his traveling bits which got me through the hardest time of my life. I feel like I know him, and he very well saved me in many ways.
I know technically Conan's show isn't over, only changing forms and such, but the feel of this show in this iteration for the last 11 years is so nostalgic for me, goofy, funny, never took itself too seriously, and that's why I loved it. :(

Conan truly is the best. Our generations Johnny Carson. His humor shaped me and what I love. Always willing to be ridiculous and commit to the bit. Never losing that goofy side and not taking yourself to seriously. Excited to see where he goes but will always miss him.

This was an absolute roller-coaster for me. My whole live ive ignored Conan O'Brian thinking he was a goof. For some reason I started watching him in 23' and he really opened my mind up to comedy. I respect his talent and dedication. To discover his first and last shows in one day brought me to tears. Watching his videos over the last few weeks is not enough it is time to dive deep as a self declared superfan of Conan into all of his antics for many years to come. Thank you.

Conan is wrong about his show being pointless. I've watched him since I was a kid. His show was a way for my older brother and me to bond. It was also a reason for my buddies and I to get together to watch his show every night in college. When I have had personal tragedies or dark times, I have often watched Conan clips or episode as a temporary escape. I doubt Conan and his staff (from Late Night to now) will see this but if by some chance they do, THANK YOU so much for the laughter you have brought to us all over the years. It has meant more than you may think.

When I was 19, I saw this man almost break down on the set of The Tonight Show, and I'll never ever forget what he said: "no one gets exactly what they want out of life, but if you work hard and you're kind amazing things will happen." Thanks Coco, for everything.

This comment will get buried, but in 2015, I had just moved to LA and made it into a live taping of Conan’s show on a stand-by ticket. As a part of the show, Conan introduced a newer, lesser-known comedian to the audience, and then went and sat in the darkness by the edge of the stage while she did her bit. I glanced over at Conan a few times during her routine, and he was 100% engaged in what she was saying - not on his phone, not talking to an assistant, but listening and laughing with the rest of us. He could’ve been doing anything, but he was giving her his complete and undivided attention. Conan is truly a gracious, genuine, and caring person, both in and out of the spotlight, which is so, so rare in show business. Farewell Conan - you will be missed 🖤

I love this. One of Conan's great talents is his ability to feature his guests, highlight their attributes, create real moments on the spot, and still manage to be the host and make people laugh without hogging the spotlight.
@Bad Boys Boogie True. No games or gimmicks. But he does need 3-4 guests on a sofa at a time though. I mean Conan takes a camera man and just go back stage and talks to his staff and that’s a more funny bit than anything I see on the other shows. I don’t know how many other hosts can do that.
One thing about Conan that really stood out to me is the length of time so many on his staff stayed with him through thick and thin. I don't think there's any better evidence to point to about his character, not as a celebrity, but just as a human being.

Andy Richter is low-key one of the wittiest people ever to be on TV. His comments are always perfectly timed, never pulls too much focus from what's going on, and is often if not always the funniest thing said in the block.
Yep! The only other sidekick I could laugh with was Geoff the Robot Skeleton on Craig Ferguson's show ("Balls") .... Fallon's Higgins? Not so much, in fact it was a joy to watch Fallon during the pandemic because there was no Higgins and more The Roots!

This was a real full circle moment for Conan. He never got to finish his dream on The Tonight Show at NBC. Especially after years of Hard work to get there. Thats why his last message on there was If you work really hard and you’re kind amazing things will happen. Low and behold, TBS gave him that opportunity and he learned in those 11 years it doesn’t matter where you are, what matters is doing what you love with the people you love and you can hear the happiness in his voice. Theirs been a lot of all time great Late Night Show Hosts, but none have never been and never will be Conan O’Brien.

Honestly Conan thrives without the late night format. If you’ve noticed he’s a lot more free on his podcast. And I don’t think Conan like those phony interviews that he used to have to do.I saw conan say he didn’t like interviewing a 2nd guest that nobody ever heard of with no life experience. He likes the podcast format because it more like a conversation. I just think he’s out grown the semi scripted interviews. In my opinion he’s funny on his own without writers. He’s just too good at improvising comedy in the spot. That’s why I like his podcast but I’m definitely excited for his new show even tho I don’t really understand what it’s going to be like. What made Conan O'Brien so special wasn't his interactions with celebrities, but his remotes. His ability to make complete strangers laugh and connect with him was what made him so special. Every single remotes he has created are masterpieces, as it shows how down to earth and humble Conan really is. He is such a wonderful human being that gives you so much joy in your life. His creative mind and quick and witty jokes are what makes Conan the King of Late Night. I really hope we get to see more of his wonderful remotes and his interactions with Jordan, Sona, and Aaron on HBO Max.

Odd as it sounds, he was very influential on my personality when I was a kid watching him. I always thought, I want to be funny exactly how Conan is.
In his prime years on NBC I used to record his show on a vhs tape every night and watch it the next day after work.
For my generation, I’m 38, Conan was the only talk show that actually made any sense to me. The other talk shows were too rigid and too structured. I hope Conan finds his next thing soon…

I used to work 12 hour shifts overnight when I was in the military. Conan and Andy got me through many long nights. This was back in the late 90's into the early 2000's. Thank goodness they allowed us to have TV in the office! I miss those days dearly. At the time, I wouldn't have ever believed that I would have said that all these years later. Thanks for the memories Conan and Andy.

Conan has been my ROCK for so many years. Not only is he naturally hilarious and dominates the stage, but he does so with grace and ease. His remotes will never be matched. Jordan, Sona, and Andy can never be replicated, his self-deprecating humor, seamless interviews, and GOD-TIER improv will forever be legendary. Only late night host that has EVER been able to make me laugh uncontrollably. He just did what no other host would for the sake of comedy, killed his way through the Leno controversy, and even in his final moments here, he’s still thinking about OTHERS. A true testament of his character. 🙏🏽
I just love his raw humor, intelligence, and sincerity! The term “legend” is truly an understatement. He’s the comedian of a generation. 🔥

Most people note Conan being the only actually funny talk show host nowadays, which is true and something I love Conan for, but furthermore for me is his genuineness. If you’ll humor me, and without trying to be too pretentious, Conan is like the punk rock of late night hosts. Irreverent, sincere, approachable, cutting edge, a mixture of high and low brow, the real thing. When he came out, people thought he was awful and wasn’t going to last. But he proved everyone wrong. Conan has been the one of most influential comic minds of the last 25 years, everyone who is anyone now has been inspired by him in some way, whether it’s obvious or not. But more importantly he shaped multiple generation’s senses of humor, myself included. He’s brought so many people happiness. He never sold out what was important to him. He was both the last classic late night host and the first modern late night host. Even though he hasn’t always been treated well or given mainstream attention like other hosts , he maintained his dignity and integrity. I know he’s still going to make us laugh for a long time coming, but his legacy is sealed. We all know who is going to be remembered the most fondly out of this generation of hosts. And as someone who clearly looked up to a lot of comedy legends, I hope Conan knows he’s going to be one of them. We love you dude, bravo.

Well said. I’ve followed Conan since the late 90’s. Started watching late night television because of him. When the hole “Late Night” fiasco with NBC happened back in ‘09/10. I rooted the hardest for him. Went to his show he was touring before joining TBS. Had the privilege to attend one of his shows and to this day I have kept up with him. I’m excited for his next adventure and a little sad at the same time. He will truly be remembered as one of the greats.

I think it's only fitting that Conan, the kindest, most genuine person I've seen on television, humble and real and wise like he is, gave such a classy goodbye and moved on to the next chapter in his life. Conan is not the kind to hold onto something just because he has power in it.
I have had literally one contemporary idol and role model in life, and this man is it. I wish him all the best and all the good fortune in this world, and to never lose his soul.

Conan always talks about how when he first came out doing his talk show 93 that he didn't know what it was doing but I remember watching it and they were kicking ass from the get-go man big time self-deprecating humor it was like nothing that was on TV it was so much better than everything that was on and I enjoyed some of the other stuff

Truly the end of an era. After Letterman, Conan was the last great pre 2000s talk show host. He will be sorely missed.
He made it to past a Decade despite the obstacles in his way. He always had the funniest bits and remotes. He will be remembered in TV History for sure.
My absolute favorite thing Andy Richter said was to Chelsea Handler. She made a joke about him being able to float easily in the ocean. He said, "What do you sink? Maybe it's your cast iron Heart." ..... Stage 5 burner on Handler. Sick sick burn.

Instead of making it all about himself he spends his final minutes of the show thanking everyone around him. It was a good run.
Conan truly is the best. Our generations Johnny Carson. His humor shaped me and what I love. Always willing to be ridiculous and commit to the bit. Never losing that goofy side and not taking yourself to seriously. Excited to see where he goes but will always miss him.

This was an absolute roller-coaster for me. My whole live ive ignored Conan O'Brian thinking he was a goof. For some reason I started watching him in 23' and he really opened my mind up to comedy. I respect his talent and dedication. To discover his first and last shows in one day brought me to tears. Watching his videos over the last few weeks is not enough it is time to dive deep as a self declared superfan of Conan into all of his antics for many years to come. Thank you.
