The way Conan is able to switch from complete nonsense and being hilarious to being incredibly sensible and sincere is why he is, and deserves to be, so succesful.
"1911 Taft stamp" That little ad lib alone is what makes the chemistry between Sona, Conan and Matt so appealing. And it's even more amazing that they still click and gell even though they're all in three separate locations.
The best parenting advice I ever got was from an old employer. He had 3 grown children of his own and I was a new first-time father. He sat me down after one of my 'What-if-I-screw-him-up?' episodes and looked straight into my eyes. He said, "Kiddo, take it from me, you can relax because they are HARD to kill,".
WOW. I don't have kids, and I have zero interest in ever having kids, but Conan's advice near the end legitimately got me choked up. It felt like he was talking directly to me. Incredible
My wife is due any day now! We’ve taken classes, prepped every level of our home, read books, talked to our OB, family, and friends. Feeling excited and nervous and seeing Conan and the team in the same stages over the past couple years progressing through what I’m about to go through is interesting!
"You will know what to do, till you don't , then you'll figure it out " . That's a really great genuine advise from Conan, not just in parenting, but in many aspects in life.
"Ever had a job where you had no experience. No training. You weren't allowed to quit. And people's lives were at stake? That's parenting" - Muriel Bagge
It is great to see you three back even for one episode... there is a very high level of comfort for watching when you three come on this podcast. Always entertaining, congrats to Matt!
That's really the best advice as a new parent... don't listen to people. Just know your world is about to change and be open to that and feel it and ride it. There's no right or wrong way. You will figure it out. There is no wrong way.
I like Conan’s advice. I read so many books, and binged on so much information before having my babies and I still ended up guessing at what they wanted when they cried. Why I thought I could learn to be super mom, and read my kids’ minds, I don’t know. 😂
When my baby was born, I invited a few friends over and served them pâté on toast. Later on I constantly brought up the subect of the placenta & how nutritious it was.
Matt looks like he's sincerely crapping himself with worry. Good luck, Matt!! And PS - the somebody who wrote "show human emotion" - I think we all know who would have written that!!
"You can't just say Tak and have people know oh, right, that's a real name." We've been listening for well over a year CONAN, we know who Tak is. Geez.
That. Was. Outstanding. Matt, you are the main reason i watch ALL of these. Love all 3, but i am a SuperEgo\ShristolPimps\Journeyman\Townland...et al fanboy. Over the moon, Matt. You got this!
When Sona said she had caesaran, I was relieved that she wasn't given an episiotomy for the twins. Then I remembered the Bill Engvall bit: "Episiotomies?!? I didn't know we could have cocktails in here. I'll take TWO!"
The best advice for someone about to have a baby is to watch the movie "It's Alive" from the 1970's. I have never seen it, but I have seen clips of it on UA-cam, and it should give you something to look forward to.
My roommate at Kaiser and her husband laughed when they brought me upstairs. They said that everyone was laughing because I screamed so loud. I married again some years later and when I gave birth to my younger son, Christopher, my husband said he had not heard anyone scream that loud in his life. (The epiodimy from Daniel's delivery - that wasn't a problem - ripped open in the same spot, said the OB). OK. But, mother-in-law and sister-in-law were in the room and were so happy, meanwhile, my husband was nowhere. He went home to party with his buddies, after all HE HAD JUST HAD ANOTHER SON - his first son, Ritchie was from his Highschool girlfriend, whom I met once when Ritchie was maybe 25-30?? Anyway, Kaiser in RWC was so much better (that was back in 87) Christopher was born in 93 in SF Kaiser and those nursed left me (yes, it was quiet, private room, but bleeding and with a newborn who cried and cried. Where was my husband then? Getting high.
I was very, very grateful to the experienced midwife on hand when my first child was born 22 years ago. As I went to have a look down there she told me I didn't want to see what was happening, that I would never be able to look at it the same way again! God bless that woman! The only advice I would give is to encourage draught rather than bottle..... purely from a very selfish viewpoint in that you will get more sleep!
He was serious when he and Sona visited a memorial of the Armenian genocide, and dead serious when he was jumped by Palestinian activists, while visiting Jerusalem. Conan's a great comedian, who knows when to shut up. Which makes him even more admirable.
I love that after Conan and Sona shill for Apple and Ferrari, Matt thinks of getting free stuff, not as the exploitation of giant corporations, but instead as some kind of wishing well or lamp genie. No, Matt, Microsoft aren't going to send you your prized Taft stamp! 🤣
Would be sweet to have Conan, Sona, and Matt interview Mark Gormley. Mark Gormley is the songbird of our generation and I really recommend his song , “Little Wings.”
It’s crazy I’m a female in my 30’s and think “times ticking” to have kids, meanwhile men can have kids at any age and it’s no big deal..kind of sucks for us women!

@@kaushikdr I would reckon it's a rare collectors item worth a lot of money.
Here is the timestamps where Conan is being sincere for 1 minute and 18 seconds, setting a new personal record.
Starts at: 4:39
Ends at: 5:57
I love what he says, it's so pure
Thank you

Saaamee here! So weird!!
Welcome to the Cone Zone.
same, I have elected to not have children. but I love knowing that there are great parents out there
Matt unironically takes Conan's advice about not bothering to ever take advice

The sincere part almost made me cry. Very touching
"I am going to try and be sincere for a second, and I think I can do this."
The least Conan O'Brien statement ever.
Congratulations, Matt!
It's just fascinating for Conan can do from babbling like a maniac to saint level advisor.
Conan is so kind and wise. I love him ❤️
As a new mom, Conan’s sincere advice made me tear up. It’s so relatable and absolutely correct ❤
It is great to see you three back even for one episode... there is a very high level of comfort for watching when you three come on this podcast. Always entertaining, congrats to Matt!
I need Conan as my second Dad. He gives great advice.

I'm having a kid in 6 months and I often come back to this segment. Love you 3!
Dang Conan just knows how to say the right thing at the right time
"Parenthesis: Show human emotion" - that should be on some merch or something! 😂😂
I could listen to these 3 talk forever.
Conan is amazing humble human being.
Idk why but l kinda teared up when Conan gave the serious advice. 😂 😍 Congrats Matt and Sona! Teamcoco babies!!
Conan keeps winning.
EDIT: The reaction of both Sona and Matt to Conan saying "Go with God" was maybe the most hilarious thing I've seen all year.
Godspeed Matt Gourley.
There needs to be a regular conan advice segment. We need his wisdom
My god do I adore Gourley. He and Amanda will be wonderful parents.
This is absolutely hilarious and touching in equal measure!
I can't take all this sincerity!
4:59 spot on!
Sincere Conan makes me feel all emotional
i love Mondays just because of you! thank you

So is that how it works?
You just say “Candyman” and you get a free Candyman!?
Candyman, Candyman, Candy..
james? JAMES!?
How has Sona gotten so much more beautiful? She has always been attractive, but she is downright beautiful now!!!
My dad's pro-tip for when I got my first kid: "The first 20 years are the worst."
I have no kids and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be alone forever but conans advice in the end reverberated profoundly within me
"Tac's a weird name."
"O, really, CONAN."
Sona missed an opportunity here. :-D
Conan pre-empted that joke anyway
Conan is awesome
"1911 Taft stamp!" 🤣🤣
To anyone reading this, do yourself a favor and go read Matt Gourley's "Personal life" section on Wikipedia. You won't be disappointed.
I paused the video to go check. I wasn’t disappointed.
TL;DR
When my baby was born, I invited a few friends over and served them pâté on toast.
Later on I constantly brought up the subect of the placenta & how nutritious it was.
you're a sick man!.......and I like your style 🤠
Hahaha 😂
Wow I don't think the podcast has ever heard Gourleys serious tone before
Coans advice is perfect. That's exactly how it is. Trust your instincts.
Was laughing like crazy at the last bit
Matt looks like he's sincerely crapping himself with worry.
Good luck, Matt!!
And PS - the somebody who wrote "show human emotion" - I think we all know who would have written that!!
Conan is constantly betrayed by those around him but he always turns it into gold and comes out on top.
Congratulations Mike! Conan’s advice is perfect!💜💜

Parenting advice from a father of two 50 year olds 😂

"You can't just say Tak and have people know oh, right, that's a real name." We've been listening for well over a year CONAN, we know who Tak is. Geez.
It was a harmless jab 😁
We also all know who Charlie and Mikey are, no need to explain it to the audience every single time.
Why do you assume that every viewer has watched a previous episode of this podcast?
Ar-tac( whispering Ar-tac) lol
Conan after being sincere for a minute: Go with grace, go with god.
Me: I feel god in this Chili's tonight.
Mazel tov, Matt! What a blessing. (Sheilah might be jealous, though)
I hope he get another TV show.

Best advice ever. 👌
Thanks Conan. Me and my wife are going to try for a baby and this means the world.
Good luck! Also, ignore anyone who tries to come with adoption talk. Some people are always gonna be against having bio kids.
Sona, you and your husband chose great names for your sons.

My phone always turns on Conan when it is in my back pocket
I don't want kids, but that is the best advice I've ever heard

Go watch serious jibber jabber - a completely different conan there

Why do expecting fathers ask mothers what to expect? As if the man goes through labor.
Dear Conan. Did Sona delete your eyebrows? 😂😂 I miss seeing you on the show. ❤️
Everyone who clicks on a Sona video knows who Tak is.
Im gonna mis gourlz so much
So basically Matt shouldn’t be listening to any advice from anyone, even from Conan.
