I can get up and down from a full squat easily but didn't realize that I couldn't get up from sitting cross-legged (with butt on the floor) without my hands. After a few tries I barely did it.
I'm 80 years old with fibromyalgia. I can touch my toes and Asian squat (but have to pull myself back up). The easiest way for me to get up off the floor is go into downward dog, then just roll upright. Your son is very fortunate to have such an agile and active father to set an example for him. So many parents just take to the couch and tv and let their kids figure it out on their own. You mentioned your family is not low carb (how refreshing in this day of keto) and I would love to see how you eat to stay slender and active. Thanks for all you do.
im 23 with fibromyalgia! when i was diagnosed at 20, i thought my life was over. now i am grateful that it is teaching me to take care of my body, not only for its current well being, but for its longevity. i hope i can still touch my toes & asian squat when i'm 80!!!!
With fibromyalgia you definately need to keep your blood suger levels low and not into the pre diabetes range as the toxins attacks your tendons and muscles which increases the pain response... Just found this out for myself as I am struggling with repeated tendonitis, prediabetic and have now been diagnosed with Chronic Pain Disorder. Therefore I am doing a low carb diet and starting to feel a bit better. And yes your FM can get a lot better. My husband recovered from ME after seeing a good medical doctor who specialised in nutrition.
I am turning 70 soon…..and have never really exercised routinely. Used to be able to do squats no problem when gardening. Not any more. So would like to improve my strength, balance and flexibility. Thank you for providing this information
I'm 67 and have done various exercises, without much consistency, for most of my life. This physical therapist is the best I've seen. His suggestions solved several serious problems I had. But, don't overdo it, just be reasonably consistent, as he suggests.
You guys got this! You are awesome! I’m 31 and my Dad just turned 60, and I’m always looking for ways to help him stay in top shape. This is definitely going to be so beneficial !
Matt, I just love you! I've just turned 68 and have NEVER been fit, ever. My father had some crazy notion that we would get hurt if we ran and so forth so we were forbidden and would actually get punished if we played and fell or something (no joke), I'm single my whole life, no children and as I am aging, that lack of moving has really taken a toll. I'm afraid to be put into a home where no one really cares for you and you just waste away and die. BUT, I don't believe that my age should keep me from being my best even now. You are so encouraging to me and I need that. I have subscribed and just became a dues paying member today. I am absolutely determined to be in the best shape of my life and I want to live into my 90's if at all possible and not just be breathing but be moving around and as self-sufficient as possible. I loved the stories you just shared and I'm so ready to be one of them. Thank you so much for what you do and I'm glad to support you and your channel because if you don't have health, you just don't have anything. Looking forward to totally surprising myself and being the miracle that I know I can be.
Dear Alexandra, you can do it! Each day is a gift. Don’t let the past limitations bind you. I’m feeling better at 60 than at 55. Stronger thanks to resistance bands and eating more protein to build muscle. Labs look great! God bless.
I'm only 30 and I've been on a calisthenic workout journey for over a year now and I have a better body now than in my 20's and teens. Everyone in my family is the definition of not giving a crap about health and physical fitness and they are all headed towards a future in a nursing home to be treated and cared for like infants. I refuse to let that be my fate and that's why I'm interested in anything that can slow the degradation of the aging process!
I'm 34 and thinking same as you! I want to be an agile old man, surfing, skateboarding and working out till i can't. Seeing how many older athletes nowadays are still in great shape and still performing in all sports definetly helps.
My biggest fear is that I will be the one taking care of my kids into my old age because they refuse to be active in any way. I'm heading to 63 and to see my young adult children (20's - 30's) so out of shape is scary. My sister calls them "Pod Children" because they're afraid that fresh air and sunshine will kill them!
@cmorrison5466 I don't know what needs to happen, but they really need to get their crap together and see how important it is to be in shape. I hope they get the kick in the pants they need to see that whatever form it may come in.
@@hunterthewerewolf True this! What's just as scary is that all their friends are the same way (plus obesity on top of inactivity). It's a double whammy for these young adults. My kids are all on the thinner side so at least they have a chance at improving their health more quickly if they chose to do so. This younger generation is doomed if they don't get their butts off the couch and get moving while they're able.
I've been watching you for almost a year. I suffered from right side weakness from a stroke. The strength, confidence and stability I have gained from watching your videos has been amazing. Thank you
I am a 63 year old yoga teacher. I have been teaching yoga now for 20 years. I've had to cut back, from 10 classes per week to 7 classes, but I do these movements almost every day. My youthfulness compared to my peers is astonishing. Your approach is spot on, and I really appreciate your enthusiasm and encouragement. Your instruction is helping me overcome a hip arthritis flare up (that of course I did being dumb 🤯). Healing is possible at any age. Thank you for your wonderful attitude and approach.🙏🌞🌻
You are 100 % right ,there is no secret to stay fit . Im 62 and doing regular calesthenics, swiming and yoga ,the result Im in better shape than people who are much younger. We all going to age but it is a choice ...how we going to age . This videos are great targeting mobility which is very important when we get older .
Words have power! Keep telling us these things Matt! Every time I've gone to the Ortho, who says surgery, my body seems to hear that and declines. It's crazy. As soon as I pull myself out of that slump and start back with the exercises I start to improve. And reading progress comments from your viewers, of all ages, keeps me even more motivated! Good job everyone! 🎉
Looking forward to seeing if I'm able to do these well. I've been working on complete mobility since Jan this yr. I was laid up 24/7 in a bed for over 5.5 years. I watched life pass me by as I became laid up at almost 37 yrs old. I am 43 now. I not only learned how to walk again but I also can now jump, run, squat, and so on. I was 208 lbs when I started and I am currently 130 lbs. I weight lift which Def has helped me not only regain muscle but build it and make it stronger. I am in the best shape of my life and feel amazing. I am determined to never be back in a position where I am helpless and missing out on what is important. I'm determined to continue my progress and become even healthier. I do not diet I just am smarter with how I eat. I have done tons of research but I must say I absolutely love your videos. So many people are unclear and uneducated in how Lil it takes to stay healthier. Doctors are full of it if they just push medicines and say you can't. I'm living proof. I love the saying " where there's a will there's a way". Keep up the great videos!! You are truly appreciated!
To answer your question about why I clicked on this video: I am 57 and have been sitting in a chair for work for over 30 years. Not much physical activity besides walking (I do a couple of miles a day or more with the dogs). Had a motorcycle crash a few years ago and since then my mobility and flexibility has been pretty terrible. I need to get moving again. Thanks for doing these videos, new subscriber here.
I clicked on this video because I am 56, had a failed back surgery and now have neck and knee pain. I used to be very active going to the gym, swimming, hiking, playing tennis etc. and this is killing me. I feel like I am falling apart and am worried about my future. I will definitely be working on these, thank you so much for these videos and great information!
I have discovered your videos in the last month and the hardest thing is to not overdo it because you are so encouraging and positive! (I also love your honesty and sense of humor-keep it coming!)
I am 62, I’m a low carber, AND your videos help me stay fit and flexible😂 I just got finished with my horseback riding lesson and turned on your video . Now I’ll go home and work on my Asian squat and do some upper body strength work. Thank you for all that you do !❤
My favourite bit was literally “Nobody eats low-carb in this house”! Thank you! I started weight training a year ago and I feel so good. Just done a deadlift with more than my body weight for the first time while watching this. My hamstring flexibility has increased with almost zero yoga in that time through strength training!
the best part of this vid is the last 2 to 3 minutes.......seriously.....eveyrone should watch that part....very important....don't get me wrong the anti-aging exercises he demonstrates is important as well, but..........just check out the last few minutes of this vid.......its a VERY VERY VERY important message he gives............we NEED more people like this guy in the world!
Because I’ve noticed how quickly I’ve aged in the last 3 years. I’m 51 and after breaking my elbow, the pandemic and being hospitalized for Covid, and drastically declining youth hormones, I’m in bad shape. I’ve aged 15 years! I love your humor, calm voice and the way you keep saying take it easy and go slow. I appreciate the hard work that it took to get you where you are. The MOST helpful thing is putting a “follow along” link at the end of the video for whatever it was you just educated us on. Learn the movement, then DO the movement. I’m MUCH more likely to do what you’re teaching if you are right there with me, holding my hand 😊
Oh my goodness, you have had some challenges. I'm 53, had some really tough years during peri menopause. Finally found what works for me. Everyone is different. But dietary changes helped me so much, as did a change in my exercise choices and duration. Doing 10 to 20 minutes at a time at most, spread out throughout the day as a form of grownup recess, lol. Cardio, stretches, resistance exercises, breathwork like Breath of Fire. Turned this ship around, lol. I hope you find your balance and radiant energy again too! ❤
Matt, thanks for what you do! I am 83, a former 200m I.M & Butterflyer in college, marathon runner for many years, just coming out of some kind if sciatic / hip / thigh stuff on my right side. MRIs, X-rays, MDs etc did not to help. But between you and my Physio-Therapist I'm coming back smoothly and able to swim again 3X a week. (Including a few strokes of Butterfly!)
I have 3 torn ligaments in my knee which have not been fixed with surgery (yet). I was unable to walk for 3 months. Now I am trying to live my normal life again. I want to do things that will strengthen me while I wait for the surgery. Thank you for these great tips. 🎉
Hi. You saved my life. Thanks. I guess you probably hear that all the time. I was pretty nearly crippled five months ago, my wife was my crutches, couldn't sit, couldn't stand, couldn't lay down without continuous, strong, aching pain. I followed your programs. I guess I have IT band syndrome caused by trying to get into jogging after having been sedentary for too long. Just wanted to say that. I'm pretty close to pain-free now; very livable, hopefully another month or two and it'll be a wrap; not including the future lifetime of staying mobile to prevent this nightmare hell from descending on me again. Owe you my life.
Hello, 64 yo french psychiatrist, here, active but no sportive woman … for 2 years i have been practicing your exercises and yoga twice a week with a young teacher and that is what change my life in term of mobility, proprioception and sense of well being . I have a one year old grand son and i am so happy to be able to carry him , play with him , help him to develop his abilities and happiness ( and versa!) Have a nice week Pascale.
I love your videos. I am 61 and have had multiple back injuries and a shoulder surgery. I started doing the exercises you recommend and a year after my surgery I can do a full squat and lift weights regularly. I am also doing balance exercises and have been able to return to my job. Enjoying life, getting out in nature and feeling strong! Thank you!!!!
I LOVE your channel!!! I saw one of your other videos where you shared how you once struggled to sit on your ankles and how to overcome that. I was able to sit on my ankles after having tried the exercises just ONCE that you shared in the video! Now I wasn't able to sit on them for very long, but I WAS able to sit on them. That was something that I'd struggled with for YEARS! God bless you for all that you do! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤❤❤
I have been watching you for quite a while. I also watch Amanda Esmonde White. She also talks about aging backwards and I am 76 years old and I have flexor problems and I am constantly searching for good advice and good practice. I take a ballet class once a week which is probably not enough but I watch you when your stream comes up and I watch Amanda and I try to do my best to stay flexible, I’m in better shape than I was a couple years ago when I quit taking amoxicillin and meloxicam and I’ve been doing what I can to stay flexible with all your stretches and all your tutelage and I thank you so much
I just found your channel and watched your video about your mom. That led me here. I’m 61. Two years ago I slipped on the ice at work. My knees stayed together and my feet (both) went out to the side. I ended up having surgery, but all that made me lazy and old. I have watched a steady decline in my mobility and overall health. So, I HAVE to do something. THANK YOU! I will be doing this and following you in the process. 🙏🏼
Clicked on this video because I'm subscribed & I watch every video you make but this one just stood out to me. I turned 60 this past October, I've worked out off & on from the age of 16. I see a difference some good, other movements need to be better. My mother is 85 & has been tied to a walker since the age of 79 & that I use as inspiration NOT to happen to me. I use your videos as guidance and a tool so thank you for thinking of people who are a bit older!
63 eating healthy 40 years ago exercises daily stretching exercises hand weights push ups squats have arthritis so I work at it thanks for your help terry
I'm getting older and stiffer - and I have to do more. Plus, I'm subscribed and love all of your videos. I watch them all, no matter if they specifically apply to me or not. It's save to say that everything to do with hips and knees is 'for me'.
Last month I discovered, sheerly by accident, that I could not get up from the sitting position on the floor. I had to roll over on my knees and push myself up. I thought I was in good shape until that happened. So every day, I sat on the floor and challenged myself to get up without rolling over. It a took a couple of weeks but I could finally do it! Now I've got to figure out how to do this without using my hands. I can touch my toes easily but I found the Asian squat quite challenging. I can squat down to that position but I can't get back up easily. Definitely setting some goals to work on these. It does blow my mind because I thought I was in better shape than this. I am very active (biking, hiking, running, swimming, tennis, lifting) but found it difficult to do 2 out of 3 of these. This is how muscle deterioration sneaks in! I'll be watching more of your videos to learn how I can combat this. Thanks so much for making us aware! (Almost 63yo female)
Hi Matt. I've recently found your channel and am finding it really helpful. I'm 62 and have had upper back neck problems for as long as I can remember. I constantly hurt myself exercising, and learnt to fear that, so haven't committed to exercise over the years. I've also recently been diagnosed with Foresters disease in the thoracic spine (which makes a lot of sense of my super straight spine in that bit) and arthritic knees . I fell over last year which really affected my mobility with a big bruise to the inside of the knee joint on top of the tibia. The big change has been a visit to a NHS physio (Uk health service) with a very limited range of movement in my neck and upper spine, who said I need to trust my spine and gave me some simple loosening up exercises. . She was really interesting about the usefulness of MRI scans. She said the research shows that many people do worse if they have a scan and a diagnosis that if they didn't. SInce then I am much less afraid of my body. It's so much about attitude isn't it? And your style of teaching really leans into that. I do want to be able to move more fluidly and not be unduly crippled in older age and I think I finally have the confidence in my body for it not to let me down. Thanks again.
I clicked here because your voice and demeanor are very soothing primarily and because of the three exercises in the beginning; lastly yet equally important because of your humor. I am able to do all three exercises in the beginning of the video. I stumble and wobble a little getting up with no hands so I’ll continue practicing all of them. Thank you very much; btw, I’ll turn seventy five in April 😊😊😊 Many Blessings to you and your family.❤
I want to be my best as I age. I have been working on staying flexible no matter what. I am 53, and for the past year, I have been learning to increase my squat. Challenging but I love it. 😊
You’re a top tier motivator and so funny! Thank you. I’m subscribing today. I’m starting today. I want to get up from the floor without using my hands.
thanks, I'm 62 and still want to keep working, but recently I have had painful tendonitis in my knees, I have been working on my hamstrings but now am in a lot of pain in the muscles and tendons around my sacrum joint. I have always had very stiff muscles in my hips and want to learn how get into a squat. Your videos seem to be just what I need. Hope I can work through this and get my life back?
I love your videos. As an 85 yr old gal; I am in pt and trying to get stronger. Eventually my insurance will cut me off, so I'm glad you're there. Getting up off the floor is a goal but right now, I'm trying to stand up from a chair without using my hands. Please make video showing how you teach this. Thank you. Lynn
I was hit by a car when I was 35 and spent months in bed feeling like I was 95. I promised myself that if I got better, I was going to do everything in my power to have a strong and healthy body. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how strength and flexibility impacts your perception of your age. I subscribe to the saying “you’re not getting old, you just need to stretch”
I am 77 and have worked on computers since 1980, so I have rounded shoulders and back problems. I can touch my toes easily, but I have to use my hands to get up from the floor. I have a lot of posture problems, and your videos are helping me correct them. Thank you.
Hello Matt and THANK YOU for your clear-cut plan for my awesome lower-body (and WHOLE-body) health. I'm getting "up there" in age and am also practicing Taichi and Qigong. I find your teaching of the Asian/primal squat to be SO helpful in deepening my enjoyment of that. Thanks again and I look forward to watching more of your humorous warm and informative videos :) Cheers, Dom
Swim swim swim is the best for people in the age of 60 and older - I am.. was a balletteacher having a lot of soreness due to 30 hours a week. This days I am using everything in my household to experience my muscles feeling better including my joints. Indeed the toddler exercise the stretching towards toes (please start with bended knees and weight in the middle of your feet slightly forward) are perfect but the standing up without hands please use a pre-excercise for instand with help of a chair Your explanation is wonderful and could indeed make older inexperienced people enthusiastic.. ... but you are the younger one. I would like to see a teacher of my age (70) doing this "stuff" on video
I love your videos! So matter-off-fact about the reality of caring for these bodies God gave us. At 64, I'm focused on strength and flexibility. THANK YOU
I follow you bc you are knowledgeable and teach us in bite sized chunks, and in a very user friendly way! Plus, you are hilarious & make me laugh a lot which is also very helpful! I was a massage therapist for 6 years so that knowledge is helpful with knowing my body as well as assessing exercises that are beneficial for upgrading my level of day to day function and quality of life. I’m 58 and have been active all of my life - I’m a mover and LOVE movement. To me movement is LIFE! I have a twist between about L2 & my tailbone that causes a lot of anterior pain in my left hip as well as pain in my low back and Iliopsoas regions. And, the last couple of years it’s harder for me to get up off the floor without using my hands so that really gets my attention! And my right knee bothers me from an injury during Covid lockdown. I’ve had several sports related injuries up & down my entire spine during my lifetime but I’m working to avoid surgeries & medications! Thanks for all of your top notch videos! They really do help me move smarter and more freely! Happy Thanksgiving no low carb eating family! 😂🦃🍁🍽 🥧
I'm here because I have post concussion syndrome and I need to strengthen my muscles. You are entertaining and also inspiring and because of this I will do this squat thing and also some others. Thank you. :)
I'm only 36, but I found your videos because I have plantar fasciitis and a bone spur. I found the pigeon stretch super helpful and I want more stretches that I can do regularly to keep my body in shape! Thank you!
YES, AGREE WITH YOU 100%. Exercise stops aging, I am devoted to exercise all of my life and stay physically fit and look 15 years younger. Love Chinese food and martial arts.
I was a very wild kid and so now I’m having terrible problems with my body and have a fractured so many of my bones in the past. I feel young inside but the body is not doing well.. I have always been naturally flexible so there’s no trouble touching my toes but I’ve been told that I’m not at all strong and due to the fact that I fractured my knees I can’t really do much of a squat and can absolutely not get up from the floor as the knees can’t hold my weight with my lousy knees…but with downward dog I can……so I’m hoping that your videos are going to make me stronger and thank you so much!
This channel is superior because Matt understands that improvement starts with attitude, and that we all can control this. He understands that spirit and mind rule the physical, unlike most medical people, who want to control you.
I clicked because I’ve been improving my strength over the past year and am always looking for new insights and suggestions. I’m 58 with rheumatoid arthritis and I want to get ahead of my decline.
I'm 66 and totally rigid, I have bad balance, but I can touch my toes. I have no strength in my legs. Well I found the reason. I do have arthrosis in my spine and some other bones. I do take D3 vitamin. But I had bad bed. And bad sleeping positions - I had severe pains all over the body, but MR did not show that severe situation, because it shows the bones, not the muscles. I must have had terrible situation with consistent cramped muscles. I went to physiotherapy and they gave me some exercises, but they were really painful for me. I needed stick for walking. Than I started thinking: I changed my computer chair, than I changed my bed, than I supported my spine when watching TV and pain was decreasing. But my muscles are weak now. Now I will start with stretching and strength exercises. And I hope I will get better. Thank you for your ideas.
I'm 64 years old with connective tissue disorder and told by many doctors of all the things I shouldn't be able to do! I'm on a mission to prove them wrong! I have been lifting weights including bench press and kettlebell 20lbs. Squats! Have a hard time keeping my feet flat!
Hi🙋🏻♀️… thanks for your help, I just want to stay as fit as possible, at 67 I am able to do the Asian squat, splits & advanced pigeon pose🎉I think because I have always done yoga since I was 8 years old, and I like to keep fit i.e. THINK MUSCLES 🥰🙏🍀 best wishes to you and your family 🇨🇭🇪🇸
I'm here because I used to squat all the time..and sit on the floor a lot of the time.. I am 70 and during the last few years, just because of situations, I have not been squatting or sitting on the floor. I damaged my hip in a fall and my knee got bent the wrong way (not much but ouch) in another accident..They are both pretty well healed now. I can squat lower and lower but it is hard to get up. I have gained some weight too so squating pushes my tummy, though if I spread my legs further apart that is not so much of an issue...The main thing is that I KNOW that I can fix myself and your teachings are alweays spot on..Thank you
I saw this because I'm a subscriber and regularly view your videos, so I saw it in the sidebar. I am going to share it with my dad though. Very awesome that you gave progressions, because I keep stressing to him there is stuff he can do between doing zero and going whole hog. Good exercises for anyone and everyone. Thanks, Matt!
I just chanced on your video. Thank u for coaching on line. I’m impressed. I shall follow u as much as I can . I shall be 60 next year- really need to stay fit and healthy as much as I can and know how. Thank u sir. You inspire us well 😊
I'm 74. I've been keeping flexible. Able to stand on one foot for longer than a minute, stairwell is not a problem. Carb Free for 78 weeks. No more rheumatoid arthritis. 😊😊
I'm 57 and always dreamed about being fit but never persued it other than running after 4 kids. The pandemic forced me into a desk job, and midway through that, I fell down our cellar stairs and broke my tailbone. This left me so weak I was worried about my ability to carry my then 20# grandson up and down our stairs. I joined a gym and had been doing great until I finally actually caught Covid. I took a few weeks off and immediately irritated my IT band and many other things by jumping right back in. Dialed routine back and Chiropractor helped a bit, gave me guidance but finding your stretching exercises helped the most!! I now can dead lift 75# and am keeping up with 4,3, and 2 year old grandchildren and dragging my husband along in the process 😂 Love your videos. You are a boon to mankind❤
At 44 years old, I'm experiencing discomfort in my back, knees, and hips, which is quite bothersome. I'm actively seeking a solution or remedy to alleviate these pains. Lots of love from Kenya.
Why? Because I sustained a severe traumatic brain injury nine years ago. Very athletic and fit at the time. Now at 64 with nine years of disability or physical compromise, I am scared, anxious, and depressed. Exercise was my anti-depressant, anti-anxiety prior to injury. A recent fall has set me back again. A couple fractured ribs, and badly bruised shoulder. Ouch, and frustrated. Discouraged is an understatement. Thanks, and help.
Love your approach to working out. I'm 78 and dealing with hip and butt pain, especially on my left side. Tried one of your exercises and felt good. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more. Have a great day.
At 71 fell broke both hips. Now I have no balance and use a walker. I need to build muscle because I can’t get off the floor. Thank you for your videos. It will help.
I am 38, I went to go play paintball a few years ago, much like I did when I was a teenager and in my 20s and I found out I couldn't really crouch behind bunkers, I couldn't really run between the bunkers, and after a bit just holding the paintball gun loaded up with paint and an air tank was really hard for me. I tried just going back and doing it more, but I realized I was trying to take on too much and just ending up sore and in pain so I went down a fitness rabbithole. I have dramatically increased my mobility, speed, strength, and muscle mass and I feel like I am 20 again. So this has made me very interested in seeing how far I can take this because I don't want to decline again, I want to be 90 running around and having fun still.
My dad 77 has had a few spontaneous falls and my mother 79 is still recovering from an injury after accidentally being pushed off a stage at a rehearsal 3 years ago. So I wanted to share with my parents, but I also know we don’t have to decline & at 52, I want to make sure that I am able to stay independent.
Matt! What do you say to people who say their new knee replacements or hip replacements don’t let them bend their knees to squat!? I hear this from friends of mine! Is it true, or is there a lot more they could be doing? Thank you so much!!! PS, I was creating all kinds of excuses for not going on my walk today of 1 to 2 miles. My dog-pal Gracie who was my walking companion for 14 years, passed a couple of months ago. I don’t have the incentive to walk as I did when she was around. However, after listening to you reading comments from other people, I was inspired to get my shoes on and get out there! Regardless of how long I’m on the planet I want to thrive like a happy healthy person, because I am a happy healthy person!
I went to your site and it basically said I need to talk to my doctor. I’m 64, weak and “deconditioned.” I want to get better!! My doctor is zero help! I’m gonna start doing what I can and have my husband join me! I’m not giving him a choice and he will do whatever we need to because he’s a wonderful supportive man who is dealing with weakness and issues like I am! We are both dealing with grief and anxiety but we want to start getting stronger and happier…..he told me yesterday he would help me “slay my dragons.” Who could turn that down???!!! Anyway, I can’t bend down to do squats because it kills my knees but I’ll do anything I can do and work as hard as possible!! Sigh……please help us…..💔🥺💔
Which of the three exercises do you find most challenging? Drop me a comment!
👉Rebuild Your Body At Home with a DIY Program: uprighthealth.com/diy
The last one is the most challenging for me.
The last one
Touching toes: No problem 😀
Squats: About halfway & then knee pain
Getting up & down from floor without hands: In my dreams ☹️
I can get up and down from a full squat easily but didn't realize that I couldn't get up from sitting cross-legged (with butt on the floor) without my hands. After a few tries I barely did it.
#3 every time.
I am 74 and thank God I met u.
I feel so much younger and healthier.
😊
@remiphoto4786 try adjusting your diet...you can get rid of fibro
I downward dog too. I learnt it in a self defence class as a way to get up.
You are in rare form in this video, Matt. Thanks for making this fun. :)
Me too!
Thank u❤️❤️🙏🙏
God bless.
Awesome! Thank you for the encouragement! @@LK-jn4uj
I love your attitude. You go, girl! ❤️
@fernandomaron87 Amen brother! Let's be like old guys in anime! Badasses even in old age!
I am 63 years old and I’ve been feeling like I can’t move around bend over or do much of anything hoping your videos will help
I've been watching you for almost a year. I suffered from right side weakness from a stroke. The strength, confidence and stability I have gained from watching your videos has been amazing. Thank you
These 3 excercises I do everyday and I can do very well. I am going to turn 70 soon but have no problem. Very nice video. ❤
Love this channel
I know it feels so daunting but have faith in your body. With the right movements and fuel to support it, you can be pain free and active again. ❤
I have discovered your videos in the last month and the hardest thing is to not overdo it because you are so encouraging and positive! (I also love your honesty and sense of humor-keep it coming!)
I am 62, I’m a low carber, AND your videos help me stay fit and flexible😂
I just got finished with my horseback riding lesson and turned on your video .
Carbs and deadlifts, two of my favorite things, lol.
@@katashley1031 A Kat after my own heart! 😂
My flexibility increases to with my resistance band exercise. I think I really warms me up.
the best part of this vid is the last 2 to 3 minutes.......seriously.....eveyrone should watch that part....very important....don't get me wrong the anti-aging exercises he demonstrates is important as well, but..........just check out the last few minutes of this vid.......its a VERY VERY VERY important message he gives............we NEED more people like this guy in the world!
I'm 58 and doing everything to season gracefully. I'm glad I found your channel.
As a 70 yr old with Ehlers Danlos Hypermobility, I appreciate that your hypermobility is managed so well and you inspire me to keep up the exercises.
I have 3 torn ligaments in my knee which have not been fixed with surgery (yet). I was unable to walk for 3 months. Now I am trying to live my normal life again. I want to do things that will strengthen me while I wait for the surgery. Thank you for these great tips. 🎉
I am 73 years old from Indonesia, Thank you for good exercise . It is wonderfull.
Good to know that 2 of the positions are applied when doing my prayers.
Thank u.
I have been watching you for quite a while. I also watch Amanda Esmonde White. She also talks about aging backwards and I am 76 years old and I have flexor problems and I am constantly searching for good advice and good practice. I take a ballet class once a week which is probably not enough but I watch you when your stream comes up and I watch Amanda and I try to do my best to stay flexible, I’m in better shape than I was a couple years ago when I quit taking amoxicillin and meloxicam and I’ve been doing what I can to stay flexible with all your stretches and all your tutelage and I thank you so much
Hi . I am so inspired by your videos. I am 76 years old. Last year I hiked in Nepal and I was abled to do so very well. I exercised every day.
My husband and I do all this . Yoga moves help too. Kettlebells help too. Riding your bike helps with balance. We are both 69.
Love these videos! Encouraging, informative, supportive!
I recommend URH to clients, friends, or anyone else who asks about health and fitness. Im a nurse and personnel trainer LOVE this Chanel
Bonjour monsieur,
Un très grand merci pour toutes vos explications et votre humour 👍👍👍
I clicked here because your voice and demeanor are very soothing primarily and because of the three exercises in the beginning; lastly yet equally important because of your humor.
I am able to do all three exercises in the beginning of the video. I stumble and wobble a little getting up with no hands so I’ll continue practicing all of them.
Thank you very much; btw, I’ll turn seventy five in April 😊😊😊
Many Blessings to you and your family.❤
I want to be my best as I age. I have been working on staying flexible no matter what. I am 53, and for the past year, I have been learning to increase my squat. Challenging but I love it. 😊
I want to improve my health in my late 70's. I found these exercises very encouraging. Thank you
This past year I’ve been focusing on exercising for flexibility and strength! What a blessed difference it has made in my life!!
Thanks a lot 4 making me everyday look and feel young. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
I love your videos. As an 85 yr old gal; I am in pt and trying to get stronger. Eventually my insurance will cut me off, so I'm glad you're there. Getting up off the floor is a goal but right now, I'm trying to stand up from a chair without using my hands. Please make video showing how you teach this. Thank you. Lynn
You are such an amazing teacher! So motivating, so great, so wise! Just wonderful!
Wow. Mam. You are genius. Congrats... I feel warm and nearly sweating by doing this first time in a just some seconds God bless all.
Thank you.
I'm watching because of my age &bad back been fighting back for 60 yrs it's starting to win.
I’m here for it as I approach 50yrs and have osteoarthritis in both hips and I refuse to do hip replacement surgery
I’m in my early 20s and watch your call videos as my mother died young and I do not want the same fate . Many thanks !
Good morning, thank you for sharing. God's blessings to you and your family ❤️🙏
67 here, want to stay strong as long as I can. Love your video I'm aways looking for health advice and information ❤ you're easycto listen to🎉🎉🎉
I AM turning 70 soon and I need the exercised routines to help me❤with my knees and muscles thank you for this ❤
Swim swim swim is the best for people in the age of 60 and older - I am.. was a balletteacher having a lot of soreness due to 30 hours a week. This days I am using everything in my household to experience my muscles feeling better including my joints. Indeed the toddler exercise the stretching towards toes (please start with bended knees and weight in the middle of your feet slightly forward) are perfect but the standing up without hands please use a pre-excercise for instand with help of a chair
Your explanation is wonderful and could indeed make older inexperienced people enthusiastic..
... but you are the younger one. I would like to see a teacher of my age (70) doing this "stuff" on video
I love your videos! So matter-off-fact about the reality of caring for these bodies God gave us. At 64, I'm focused on strength and flexibility. THANK YOU
I clicked on this video because I'm 53 and I'm subscribed here. I'm interested in graceful ageing.
Soon to be 62, do metcon workouts 3 days a week, long dog walks 2-4 days but would like to improve mobility. Great channel!
I clicked because I’ve been improving my strength over the past year and am always looking for new insights and suggestions. I’m 58 with rheumatoid arthritis and I want to get ahead of my decline.
Why are you speaking of declining. Speak of improving
Great video. 61 years old. This stuff works
I'm in my mid 30s and I have difficulties with all these 3 exercise. Thank you 40 hr sitting on the desk job.😢
I have gained some weight too so squating pushes my tummy, though if I spread my legs further apart that is not so much of an issue...The main thing is that I KNOW that I can fix myself and your teachings are alweays spot on..Thank you
....and you're funny😎
If carb-free works for you, keep on rocking it! 💪
I'm trying to stay young; thank you!
l am investing in my health by watching your videos, and applying what l've learned. Once my 70-80 arrive, l want to be at the best shape possible.
You are very sincere in sharing your knowledge.
I am there already, I need to keep reminding myself what to do to keep me young.
Thank you so much for your continued advising thus audience 🙏
Yes , I agreed with you this exercise is very good thanks for sharing your vedio
Thanks!
At 62 I really appreciate your content. I remember my mom always ‘watching’ where she was walking for fear of a fall. Thnx 🙏
Thank you so much!
Danke!
Your support is much appreciated!
I want to hike more with my young adult children and do so minus discomfort or impediment. Your videos are helpful in reaching my goals. Thank you!
I enjoy pain free mobility and independence. Thank you for your videos. I love them and appreciate your dedication
Thanks 🙏🙏 a lot for your helping videos ❤ you are good person 👍 thank you
Do it for Gracie! 🐾❤️☺️
Sigh……please help us…..💔🥺💔
I clicked on this video because I was curious. Good info and good sense of humor 👍 I am 60 and still doing deep squat...
