Cutco knives are amazing!!!! As a quilter I can say that the more intricate the design the more they sell for. The cathedral window is one of my all time favorites!!! Vintage jock straps?!?! Hahaha. Wow.

I sell mostly on etsy (3 stores, 1 ebay) vintage paper ephemera, books and office supplies. Most of my buyers are crafters who use my items to make junk journals. Paper especially sells well. Old ledgers, typing paper, stationery, etc. can fetch big bucks. Also not only crafters but the TV and film industry are buyers. I've sold many items to be used as props. One more thing, vintage fabrics, sheets, and even cutter quilts are good sellers. Again think crafters. TFS I always enjoy your content. Blessings from California * L
There are more Thomas Kincade/Disney cross stitch patterns. I picked one up at an antique mall and thought “I’m not paying $15.99 for that!” Then I scanned it and happily paid $15.99!!! Mine sold for almost $200 but I’ve seen them go higher. It was Cinderellas castle
Straight to the point and very informative.I just sold a queen size pottery barn quilt for 120 bucks. Its crazy what people spend their money on sometimes.
I bought two AF King paintings at a thrift store for $2.99 and sold them for almost 14k .... Baccarat vase for 10¢ at a church sale and sold it for $1,200.00 , Faberge cobalt to clear bowl for $1.99 From goodwill and sold it for $850.00 . This is typical because I get off my backside and look around....it was once again a great week. 🎉
Lately when I go to yard sales or estate sales, everything is priced absolutely insane with printed pages for what it sold for on EBay. Thrift stores are following the same path by marking everything way up. I can’t tell you how much dollar store crap is listed for $5 at my local thrift stores.
And do they realize that there's a lot more to selling on ebay than they think? If they want ebay prices, maybe they should sell on that platform then, huh?
My best guess about the vintage underwear is that costume designers buy up stuff like that because it’s easier than making from scratch. I sold a small bag of vintage shoelaces to someone for that purpose. I know people would think that the underwear would not show on a movie but if a modern underwear tag was showing in a vintage movie shot it would be a costly mistake.

Great list Ryan ! I knew some of them, but a lot was new to me ! Thanks!! A side note to the handmade quilts, even the tore and tattered ones can sell to the right person. They buy them to make vintage Doll clothes. Thanks!!
VHS tapes??????? My Gawd, a couple of years ago (2 years, not 20 years) I helped clean out the home of a hoarder lady. And she was one of those "collectors" who had to own every movie ever made on VHS. I could not give a count of the number of moving boxes of movies we dumped off at Goodwill and they got pissed at us because they regarded them as having zero, if not negative value. Several pickup loads. Probably 2500-3000 tapes, and great numbers of them were in original cellophane and for sure 50 or so we just dumped in the garbage. Incredible.
Giving this information that other resellers might not like helps with items not getting sent to the landfill. I've saved a few things looking to resell but wasn't able to sell, so I've sold them locally at a Decent price (not what I could haven't gotten), and I know a reseller or two that I've reached out to and they've picked them up for my cost plus a good amount and they are still able to get money for so, win win. If I can't sell it for more profit and someone else can, then its all good.
the reason the dymos went up is because the new models have roll detection and will reject the older rolls. and most businesses have hundreds of rolls as reserve and don't want to upgrade to machines that they cant use their on hand inventory.
I appreciate you taking the time to share this information. My wife and I sold on EBay 20 years ago. I’m trying to get out of truck driving. After 30 years of it I’m tired of it and hate going to work. Another item we used to have excellent luck with is Barbie dolls. Some of them sell for thousands of dollars but even used Barbie doll clothes can make money. I see that kind of stuff all the time. Thank You again!
Those are definitely early 2000s goth style. They were hanging out with us ravers in the 90s in some of the clubs and our styles sorta crossbred and we traded traits and styles and inspired each other. It was a beautiful time. Thanks for the memories ❤

About the thermostats; we had our old, battery model, replaced by ADT and later found out that when power goes out we froze because new one only worked with electricity. Good thing I saved the old one 😃 Two other items; canes/walking sticks (specially vintage ones) and golf clubs, some go for thousand$. Thanks for the video!
@@jackwgn my gas heat always worked even after power outages, we also had hot water because tank was controlled by a gas pilot. Again, thermostat was controlled by batteries, same as you would have with a solar system. No electricity required. The battery is a backup.
@schoolsgirl the thermostat might click on but unless your blower motor and inducer motor is ran off battery, I don't understand where the high voltage would come from if the power is out, maybe a backup generator or something? I'm no expert but just doesn't make sense to me
@jackwgn I'm no expert either, I just know that it worked until the battery-operated thermostat was removed by ADT. We also have a gas fireplace & we can also use it when power goes out.
We are just starting out with our reselling business and we are still getting familiar with what to look for when we're out on the hunt. This video was very helpful and we look forward to more in the future. Thanks for the inside info

Going off what you said “common consumables”. Kinda the same I get free lawnmowers all the time so I break them down and sell the parts all summer. I know it’s not for everyone but it’s good money. I can part out a push mower for more than what I can get repairing it and selling it whole.
I can vouch on the voice recorders. I found a Sony clear voice plus in a dumpster that was used but in excellent condition and sold it very quickly for $85. Also I would recommend looking out for vintage stereo equipment. I found a Marantz receiver in a city pickup junk pile that worked just fine and sold for $1800. I've found speaker towers (like Klipsch, Pioneer, JBL, etc) that just needed new foam or rubber and made hundreds.
@@meticulouselectronics I leave those parts out lol. It's not like I look through real nasty ones though. But my oh my what people throw away. I've found everything from new merchandise still in it's packaging to gold jewelry and old coins. It's crazy. As long as I never find a cadaver lol.
My wife and I stumbled across your videos, I really like your videos. We were one of the first to sell area rugs on eBay. We have be building our inventory and are excited to get back at it. Thank you and your lovely bride for helping us learn. Thank you Ranny
Love the list Ryan. Another one to add is similar to duck decoys, but spear fishing decoys. Wow. We have sold nearly $5000 worth and get them for like $15 each in a bundled estate sale deal. They are nutssss.
@@RALLIROOTS I think thats why peple should do thier home work and actually see what things are worth before putting thier items on ebay so they dont get ripped off.

Like a good student, I grabbed a pen and paper and took notes! Thank you for this info. I am retired and trying the reselling thing, so I need all the know-how from those of you that have done this awhile. I have done pretty well so far on my own "good eye", but I can always improve. Here's one to keep a lookout for also. Acme refrigerator magnets. Found 2 tubs in my mom's warehouse and was pleasantly surprised at the selling price of these very ordinary items.
I no longer resell , your video popped up so I had to watch. Cutco knife block, the largest one they had. I bought one for $5 at an estate sale, It sold for 335. VTG razors, I found a pack of personal touch for .99, which sold for 95. VTG lace panties- I dont know ebays policy on selling these as Collectible, obviously they are 'Used". They fetch a pretty penny.
Cleaning out my moms attic after she passed I found some old new in box bras and mens underwear and a super big thick Spanish language bible and all sold for $30-50 each. Definitely worth looking out for these and bibles ship cheap as media mail too.
THe JNKO thing is killing me. THese were worn in the skateboarding community in the 1990's and my boys lived in them. If I only I had saved all those stupid pants!!! Also, the cross stitch patterns do great but even completed cross stitch do very well if they are vintage!
When shampoo was sued because it caused you to loose your hair. I know this to be a fact because i used to use Wen. Then my hair started to fall out. I went to the doctor but he couldn’t figure out what was causing it. Then i saw something on the internet about people loosing their hair because of Wen. I stopped using it and my hair stopped falling out. I believe Wen had to stop making their hair products, but I’m not absolutely sure
Ill add one that i see great returns on to be nice, vintage lawn gnomes, you can find them all over for a couple bucks and if in good shape they can go for hundreds easily, and its very easy for beginners to judge condition.
I have sold many different items on ebay and craig's list over the years, but have kind of put it aside lately; ebay prices were getting too high and then there is the tax issue. I'm retired now and your video has inspired me to take another crack at it. Thanks...
So appreciate this video! I'm predominately a clothing reseller but always wanting to learn more about hard goods! Heading out to a community yard sale tomorrow, 60 homes signed up! so excited!!! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!!!
Never had luck with finding profitable paperweights, but glass figurines have been great. Also, just sold a voice recorder for $160 PROFIT! Thanks for all the info.
Yeah nice video, I knew handmade quilts are worth tons, its also according to year and region has a lot to do with it, like 30-40s deep south quilts. Ones with themes across the whole quilt, or ones made from something else, like made from pieces of old jeans, shirts, boxers, etc basically made from any vintage clothing pieces.
Wow! I have watched 2 of your videos already and you really give some great advice and pointers. I sold on ebay years ago in the early 2000s and had fun doing it for about 6 years, but ended up with an office job and really just couldn't keep up with it. Just started selling on another platform last month that I just do from my phone & they send the label(so easy!) and thought maybe I would check to see if ebay has simplified things these days and it sounds like they have. Your tips and tricks are great and I will continue to watch more of them. Thank you!

Being someone who just recently got into reselling and literally learning as I go (started in January and just hit EBay Top Seller plus status) I watch your Whatnot auctions just to get jealous 😂 I know the Cars movie in the sleeve (not the clamshell) sells for $1,000+ pre owned
Thank you for all this useful information!! We will make sure to keep our eyes open for these items. Not only were you informative, you were pleasant to listen to! Thanks again! 🤗
Omg Ryan...the recorder at 10:05. I found one of those at a yard sale locally last year and thought I was reading the comps wrong when I looked up solds. I was floored! It worked too. Sold it on eBay and it paid for some dental work I needed. I'll probably never find one again in the wild, but here's to hoping!
Great stuff...many I knew but a few to check out. I believe the DYMO printers have something to do with DYMO changing something where the new ones you must use their labels which are expensive but with the old printers you could use generic labels.
Commercial and home coffee/espresso bean grinders are also great money, I picked up a La Marzocco swift for $700 and sold it for $3700 they sell new for over $6k
First time viewer & I'm very impressed. Although some of us know about most if not all of these there's plenty folks that don't. There can never be enough well done vids like this to help people learn. Looking forward to watching past vids & the ones to come. Fantastic job sir
This was very interesting, Ryan. Who would guess new hair products, thermostats, and bibles would sell? FYI, I had needlework kits in my antique mall booth about ten years ago, complete and cheap, and they didn't not sell. Back then it was a no. Haha I saw some old men's briefs yesterday, new, and marked size 56.
Nice list. Cutco and vintage drawers are my current grails😂 i kinda hope to never find a nice Case pocket knife too much of a struggle to keep for myself or sell. Going through that with my Lava Lamp at the moment. I'm afraid to check the comps 🙁
*Thanks for the information. Just my 2 cents on the comment about the Quilts. My ex-wife spent a ton of hours hand stitching beauitful quilts, that I thought would sell for a lot of money. I put some on ebay for hundreds of $ and none sold. People wanted them for next to nothing. Not understand the time it takes to put one of these together. What's a persons time worth. She ended up giving some away to family members for gifts which was gradifying because they knew what it took to create one and really appreciated them. And those she kept all, these years later are still in top notch condition even though they are been used on the beds in the winter months*
Have checked in often over the past several years. Again you did not disappoint. Another informative video. Thanks Ryan. You all have been a major influence in my dabbling in the reseller business. Looking into getting more serious over the next several months and expanding over other platforms. Thanks.
I’m gonna have to watch this video a few times. 😊 I have sold a lot of these, but can not imagine shipping an industrial strength espresso machine. PHEW 😅🤬 I think I’d have to hire someone to ship that one. 💵💵💵
Another one is old fountain pens I found one worth $3000 24k gold real emeralds on it I paid $1 for it thrifting it was called a Parker fountain pen and pencil set in case old ones don't pass them up
The old (unused) underwear is a thing because us old guys don't like the way most underwear feels/fits these days. It's why we wear them till they are about to fall off. lol
Duck Decoys also spill over into duck calls. I grew up in the Charles Perdew area, so he's the artist I'm familiar with, but some of those hit 5 digits.
This was a really interesting video! I'm going to look into the cross-stitch thing. I was a big time stitcer back in the day. There's a big difference between stitching kits, though, and cross-stitch patterns.
Nice lineup. I like the info and agree with your unexpected choices. You are indeed an authority on eBay because only experience gets you there. There are definitely categories to always look for. I'm getting to that point myself by fine tuning what is worth getting.
I've got baby, girl, teen, gymboree, justice from 2003 thru like 2019 NWT.. few designer purses, wallets, etc.. nothing life changing😂. I'm an ICU nurse and was a busy PTA mom, tell covid. Man I used to sell a shitton of stuff on eBay and then the $600 and you get a 1099 thing started and I was done! If it wasn't for flipping stuff on eBay back in the day my wife wouldn't have been able to stay home with the kids.

What type of movie props do well?
Do you make money
Yep, just sold a bag of gloves to a film props master.
Woooot woooot!! That’s awesome
Straight to the point and very informative.I just sold a queen size pottery barn quilt for 120 bucks. Its crazy what people spend their money on sometimes.
On ebay? And 🎉congrats btw!!
That’s awesome! Do you pull up the price point they are selling for on eBay to compare pricing?
I don't believe you for one second
@@joshct9426 those deals are out there
Stealing from good causes?
Excellent! I, too, have been selling on eBay many years… and you are 100% accurate and bring some new ideas to the table. Thank you!!
Lately when I go to yard sales or estate sales, everything is priced absolutely insane with printed pages for what it sold for on EBay. Thrift stores are following the same path by marking everything way up. I can’t tell you how much dollar store crap is listed for $5 at my local thrift stores.
Good will sells poor quality shit for retail sometimes
Anyway to nip this in the bud? Seems unfair on so many levels
And do they realize that there's a lot more to selling on ebay than they think? If they want ebay prices, maybe they should sell on that platform then, huh?
Stop whining
@@eddymac1916Many of them do!
Good guess!
More like gay men buying jock straps. They love that kind of thing.
Hey, I appreciate your effort and thanks for making these videos. I’m trying to get started.
Thanks again. Been watching you for years.
I got out of it few years back and was doing facebook till my son was diagnosed with leukemia. That stopped our whole world. He is doing good now in treatment and in remission. Cancer free.
Im wanting to get back to sales. This gives me ideas again to do what i can as its hard to keep up with the bills.
Being disabled myself and taking care of him i cant hold a normal job. But i can take pictures and list.
Gona try to get back to it in the coming months.
Yall have always inspired me. Thank you

Finally someone who is in this for profit....we decided to go full time resales, will be at the Alameda Antique faire May 7th space M34. Thank you for the encouragement.
I sold the knobs off an old vintage Kenmore washer for 30 dollars...empty beer cans with rock star pics on them 15 to 25 each....people will buy the craziiest stuff !!!
If you lost power the heater wouldn't work anyways
I am just a beginner. Have mostly focused on my husbands nice tools. I have decided to move forward and become a full time reseller. This video has been SO extremely helpful!
THANK YOU Ryan. I will be a follower and probably join the reseller group. Much appreciated! Julie
Going off what you said “common consumables”. Kinda the same I get free lawnmowers all the time so I break them down and sell the parts all summer. I know it’s not for everyone but it’s good money. I can part out a push mower for more than what I can get repairing it and selling it whole.
Awesome! That is a fantastic hustle and I totally agree.
If you specified you found it in a dumpster, do you think you still would have got that much? Lol
@@meticulouselectronics I leave those parts out lol. It's not like I look through real nasty ones though. But my oh my what people throw away. I've found everything from new merchandise still in it's packaging to gold jewelry and old coins. It's crazy. As long as I never find a cadaver lol.
@@brianallison1913 I would retire quickly if I found a corpse lol
Older undergarments were made with thicker fabric so they’re higher quality/last longer.
My wife and I stumbled across your videos, I really like your videos. We were one of the first to sell area rugs on eBay. We have be building our inventory and are excited to get back at it. Thank you and your lovely bride for helping us learn.

Good video Ryan, thanks! I picked up a vintage jock strap at a garage sale for $0.50 and sold it for $50!
This group of resellers are great .. Fun loving and always looking after their followers. Amazing knowledge and kindness 💪🏼💪🏼
Lots of love and respect back to you Iver!
Love the list Ryan. Another one to add is similar to duck decoys, but spear fishing decoys. Wow. We have sold nearly $5000 worth and get them for like $15 each in a bundled estate sale deal. They are nutssss.
Ooooooo great tip! New one for me :)
Fancy seeing you here... I wouldn't have thought to see you posting on a reseller's page.. nice..Cheers to you both.
I am glad to know this. I looked them up and was surprised. Q is this mainly for native Americans?
That's what we call a scammer! Pay your taxes
@@RALLIROOTS I think thats why peple should do thier home work and actually see what things are worth before putting thier items on ebay so they dont get ripped off.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! As a newbie to reselling, tips from the voice of experience are always welcome. Your presentation is so friendly and easy to understand. I wish you continued success.
Like a good student, I grabbed a pen and paper and took notes! Thank you for this info. I am retired and trying the reselling thing, so I need all the know-how from those of you that have done this awhile. I have done pretty well so far on my own "good eye", but I can always improve. You and your beautiful wife are so fun to watch.
Thank you for being clear and honest on every point and not just hyping a current trend that could easily die before the video ends
Here's one to keep a lookout for also. Acme refrigerator magnets. Found 2 tubs in my mom's warehouse and was pleasantly surprised at the selling price of these very ordinary items.
Ooooo nice!!!
I use to own a coffee shop & you are spot on about espresso machines! - Thanks always for the tips! -Sommer
“Everyone deserves to eat”. Couldn’t have said it better! Luv ur vids man and I wish nothing but the best for you and ur fam🙏🏼

You are so welcome!
I believe the lawsuit was settled
I remember reading about hair loss with Wen products as well.
Ill add one that i see great returns on to be nice, vintage lawn gnomes, you can find them all over for a couple bucks and if in good shape they can go for hundreds easily, and its very easy for beginners to judge condition.
Don’t laugh, but Vintage Sanitary Napkins sealed in package sell very well too! I have a feeling they are used for TV/ Movie props
I sold a box for$100.
Woootwoooot!!! Hope you find some gems 💎
Where do u find these community garage sales
Never had luck with finding profitable paperweights, but glass figurines have been great. Also, just sold a voice recorder for $160 PROFIT! Thanks for all the info.
Niiiiice!
Thank you!
Fantastic! This was just a random video I chose and I think it was life changing! Thank you 🙏.

OMG. People would love to go through my stuff. I’ve got soooo much from my parents & childhood & it’s just sitting in storage crates. I threw a ton or more away too.
Being someone who just recently got into reselling and literally learning as I go (started in January and just hit EBay Top Seller plus status) I watch your Whatnot auctions just to get jealous 😂

Wooooah!!!! What a find!
Stain glass windows $10 for set of 2 tons of paint. pulled from a old house. Sold for over $250 with $100 shipping
Great stuff...many I knew but a few to check out. I believe the DYMO printers have something to do with DYMO changing something where the new ones you must use their labels which are expensive but with the old printers you could use generic labels.
Ah ha! That makes sense
Commercial and home coffee/espresso bean grinders are also great money, I picked up a La Marzocco swift for $700 and sold it for $3700 they sell new for over $6k
Absolutely!!

I knew it was a case knife in the thumbnail. 😂 I used to sell cutco as a wee lad, so I'm always watching for those. 😊
It’s only the vintage ones that sell for a lot
Have checked in often over the past several years. Again you did not disappoint. Another informative video. Thanks Ryan. You all have been a major influence in my dabbling in the reseller business. Looking into getting more serious over the next several months and expanding over other platforms. Thanks.

I've got old ducks from sears. Missing weights. Ready to sell.
Also board games/ puzzels from the 60/ 70s and cross stitch patterns
Another one is old fountain pens I found one worth $3000 24k gold real emeralds on it I paid $1 for it thrifting it was called a Parker fountain pen and pencil set in case old ones don't pass them up
I just found this video by accident, but really glad I did.... THANK YOU!! for some really great info.. I look forward to more info.
The old (unused) underwear is a thing because us old guys don't like the way most underwear feels/fits these days. It's why we wear them till they are about to fall off. lol
I get factory carburetors from salvage yards disassemble, clean, and rebuild to flip. I make a GOOD profit from that.
Vintage underwear sells because it’s 100% cotton. Especially socks. Todays sock are polyester cotton blend yuck
Paper weights have sold well for a long time. I’m always looking for 1960’s and 1970’s big chunky art glass ashtrays too!
WTF, granny quilts & men's underwear are big $$? I believe you, but it's so crazy!!! There really is a market for everything. 😂
