    I had to leave an update on my last post 2 days ago. Y'all, using shea butter on my high porosity section WAS A GAME CHANGER. Plus, layering the moisture in the order Karen does left my hair feeling incredibly soft and supple--even while fully dry. My wash 'n go was absolutely beautiful and frizz-free! Day 2 hair also looks and feels just as good (this doesn't usually happen), and I can easily see my curls hanging in there for another day. I am happy with my hair again! THANK YOU!

    I could cry - less than a minute in and you’ve already addressed something that I haven’t really been able to find elsewhere. I’ve been struggling with the different textures and curl patterns between my black hair and my gray hair for a while. I’m about 50/50 all over my head and the most frustrating thing has been not getting those grays to curl the way the rest of my hair does (especially in the front middle, exactly where the bulk of your grays are). Thank you so much for this! 🥹

    Hello, love this video. My hair is 4b and 4c patterns. I have salt and pepper hair. I wear my hair in twists most of the time, but I also wear my hair in a puff. I have a lot of thinning in the top and crown areas. However, I shake hair fiber in those areas to hide the thinning. I have been trying to grow these areas back for about 4 years.
    I really like the way the wash and goes look on you.

    Beautiful hair results! I did a wash and go on my gray hair yesterday (usually do twistouts) and did similar steps. Glad to see I am on the right path with my gray hair.I used Briogeo's Farewell Frizz rosehip, argan & coconut oil blend with nice results. Will have to pull out my UFD hair gel and try it on future WNGs. My hair is very thin in my crown so it's a bit of a challenge. Trying different ways to style my hair... it's a process! 😄

      Karen I have tried wash and goes but I don’t like having to have my hair soaking wet and I tend not to use enough water. My hair doesn’t last as long as my twist outs which I prefer. Even keeping my ends cut I tend to get more SSK’s with W&G’s. The top of my head mostly grey hair is a challenge and I have to use much more product to tame that area.

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 роки тому +7

      Good question! In general, typical hair grease does not harm the hair. It is one of the BEST products to seal moisture. Petroleum is non-pore clogging as well. However, its just very thick and greasy, weighs my hair down and doesn't compliment my other styling products very well. LOL! But its safe to use! Some women love it! Some hate it! LOL! ! Already working on a video about hair grease as well, want to test some things out about hair grease -- so stay tuned!

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  Місяць тому +1

      Hey there! I know it can be super confusing.In general, curl definition is a technique that will help to enhance your existing curl pattern. Oils can weigh the hair down, and work against the curl enhancing product (making the hair softer for example - this could be what your stylist is suggesting). Some people use oils while others do not. Some people use heavier oils while other use lighter weight oils. Many times from my experience it the technique that affects the outcome. I recommend that you follow the instructions in the video, and take your stylist suggestion and don't apply any oils, and she what results you get. Remember, our hair textures are so unqiue so what works for one may not work another, but I recommend that you try it. You can do it! 💜

    Hello Ms Karen thank you once again for such a informative video that makes sense and has wonderful results!! Let me ask although I’m sure your spray leave in is top notch!(which I want to order) until then what spray leave ins are good that I can purchase in a store, Amazon etc. Also for low porosity hair what shampoo and deep conditioners are good? Thanks and Happy Holidays

      Hi Monica! I can see you've already placed your order. 😀 Thank you! You can always layer my leave-in conditioner with a thicker creamier one if you'd like, such as the Design Essentials Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Other awesome products are the shampoo/conditioner by Thank God I'm Natural, and Camille Rose. You should be able to pick these up from Target or Amazon. Also, I can tell you another trick -- if you have a rinse conditioner at home now, you can mix just alittle bit of conditioner with water, and there you go - you can spray it regularly. You are just diluting the concentration so it's not as heavy. Some some simple tips you can do around the house! Hope this helps!

    What is the best shampoo and conditioner for gray hair

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 роки тому

      Im sorry Kimberley! I thought I replied to this request. But for shampoo, Shea moisture has a pretty good shampoo for grey hair. It's the purple rich water collection. Here's a link amzn.to/3ziGBSz
      Also, if want to go old school Shimmering Lights shampoo still gets the job done actually, but followup with a moisturizing "non purple' shampoo. And a little goes a lonnnng way!
      In terms of conditioner, there are some purple conditioners as well, but I typically use my regular conditioner. Great conditioners include the Curl House Follicle Stimulating Conditioner, TGIN has a great triple moisture conditioner, and Moisture Max conditioner is pretty good as well.

      @@maverickmayhem6409Ok I see. I did spray a little oil after my hair dried, but the order of the product application is contingent upon the water concentration in each product. The leave in and moisturizer have a very high concentration of water so I will seal with the oil, then apply the styler. If I had a thicker creamier styling product I would apply that last. Haven’t tried it your way - but hey - I’m all for learning and trying different ways too 🤗 Thanks for your feedback as well

    Morning, look at the picture of my silver gray hair. Manly in the front. I do not care to much for the curl twist out, just plain natural look. And I'm very careful at what I use in my hair. I got the wrong Shaw butter, I gotten the yellow. And won't use it on my hair, ment to get the white bar. I also have the creamy moisturizer that makes my gray white a egg shell color. And I don't like how it feels on my hair. I'm so bless to have our fathers hair. The rest of my siblings have to play catch up. I'm seeking help for my hair. It's soft even the silver gray. And looking for a full face and hair make over👍. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

      Hi Doretha! Generally speaking it is more porous. It stops producing melanin and the sebaceous glands decreases it production of sebum so its courser, dryer, and more porous.
