There are only so many bands that makes you want to listen to their music and watch them on video over an over again. Slayer is one of those musical entities that have that intangible quality. This never gets old.

At Riotfest in Chicago, I made up my mind to finally see Janes Addiction, one of my top 5 bands. Slayer was playing opposite of them on the south side of the fest. While walking past, I heard the most evil unholy, music ever. I was mesmerized. I still have never seen Janes Addiction.
Kerry King needs to chill. Jeff's gone and Tom can't be expected to lead the greatest thrash band of all time, without headbanging violently and screaming his head off. Anyone who wants to see 2 guys calling themselves Slayer, butcher all the classics in front of a couple hundred people, also should retire. It's done. Respect it.
I remember watching this episode of Henry’s show back at the time. Tom gave him that sly “how’s that for ya” look at the end, and Henry was just grinning in ecstasy after that performance.

Ive watched this many times and love it! Notice how accurate the fingers are on the guitars. I love when the lead demon (TOM) shakes his head from side to side.
This is such a great little moment in time. Small little private set. Jeff, alive and in the band, fully sending on the headbanging. TOM fully sending on the headbanging. Dave in the band, with long hair, looking all fit and serious. And Kerry being as Kerry always is: intense. I also love Tom's vocal delivery: it's almost heavier than the album version. Such a great little ~5 minutes or so that I wish we could have again, but never will.
Way back we hung out with Slayer they introduced us to their wives and showed us around their bud. They used to tour with ten 40’ tractor trailers that held all their shit. They had literally walls of Marshal amps stood twenty feet high and stretched across entire stages some fifty feet at least. But Dave, the greatest drummer of all times, was very nice to us. He must’ve autographed anything and everything handed to him including my woman’s tits and my brothers wife’s ass. Kerry was pissed for some reason and left but Tom and Jeff were like ‘it’s all good’ man. Kerry letter on sat down with me and wife and we reminisced about it. Turned out their roadie stole or was plotting to steal a guitar or something? Don’t know because we were smashed but Tom didn’t really party towards the Seasons era. Good times got to meet a ton of bands and Slayer was and is still my all time favorite. Stay cool guys and thanks Dave

This song was insanely cathartic for me when I was a high school student who was new to Slayer and got Christ Illusion after Slayer won a Grammy. This was at a time when I was being sent to a religious school yet simultaneously trying to reinvent myself as a metalhead. My hatred of religion has come back with a vengeance in recent months, which has led to me revisiting the album. It's good to have Slayer back (and also to have Kerry King's solo project on its way).
