Eddielee Joseph I still want a redo of that but with better producers, director, writers, different network and casting call. I think bet can get the job done. I love how they don't try to put everything in a 2 hr movie. Looking forward to this bobby brown story.
The only lifetime movie I enjoyed I would say was searching for Neverland least it was a good honest portrayal of MJ according to his former 2 bodyguards from their book Remember the times which is a great fascinating read
I think this movie was very therapeutic for them more than it was entertaining to us. They needed this. You can tell that boulders were lifted off of their shoulders by not having to keep their lips sealed any longer. No more skeletons or ill feelings towards each other. 👏
LoLo B. that's what y'all think, I love NE but I think this is a sign to go there separate ways, in all honesty they got together to make music together and Bobby got greedy basically, jg and Ralph aren't touring with them for a reason, not because they hate Bobby but because of the drama
I think the most shocking part about this biopic is.....Ricky Bell was doing drugs, too! I saw the interview on "The Breakfast Club" with BBD and this was NEVER mentioned. Bobby gets blamed for a lot of stuff and his issues were displayed all in the media. I'm glad that this biopic was made while ALL members are still alive.
It's not about if it did or not effect the performances, my point is for years....Bobby was the only one in New Edition doing drugs. I don't recall seeing ANYTHING stating that Ricky having a problem. I mean, he did go to rehab. Yet, Bobby Brown issues were displayed in the media
I was talking to my mother about that I went " DID YOU KNOW !?" she said I know right shocked the hell outta me too 😂😂 everybody thought it was only Bobby
I am glad that all 6 are alive and well to tell their NE story after 40 years in the business. It is truly a sight to see, they are one of the best groups ever!
I NEVER had any respect for Bobby Brown (he and Whitney's drug use always made my heart break), but I have to be honest...after seeing this interview and the fact he can admit he let his ego run out of control at times I have to give him props for being real. Takes a big man to admit there was a communication break down instead of blaming someone else. The fact NE could all get back together and learn something from everything that happened to them makes me respect them as people. I hope future generations of entertainers realize what a gift NE's story is as a warning of what happens when you're chasing fame and fortune.
You totally forget that he’s Hakeem from Empire. He showed that he has range and can play someone other than an obnoxious spoiled rapper. I thought the movie was A+ and so was his portrayal
The brotherhood in this group is so deep, powerful, and beautiful. They were more than just a singing group. They are a family. It really touched me when Ricky said that as they were filming they worked through unresolved issues because they didn't know the other side. I'm so glad they made this production and that it brought healing to them and the fans.
Bomani Sankofa I thought it was 10X better than the Temptations movie. The Temps movie was based off of Otis Williams book, which was all his perspective, and no input from any of the other members estate... This movie, everyone was involved, so it was more authentic than the Temps
Bre Dawn Dre, in particular, didn't keep a 100% in that movie... He showed no faults. I was a huuuuge NWA fan, really my 2 bigger brothers were... Jermaine was Cube, Trupania was Ren, and little me at the time was Eazy... And I remember all those details... Dre didn't wanna be seen in a bad light... And that's what differentiates the 2 movies... NE showed the bad parts of each, where as SOC showed all positive for all the surviving members except Eazy... I'm sure had Eazy been alive, he would've let them know he didn't cry at Dre's success... E was going at Dre's neck. And Cube too.
Bobby Brown has really grown as a person. I've noticed that he comes clean in every interview and doesn't sugarcoat his mistakes. The only thing that never comes out clearly is how drugs influenced his relationship with Whitney from the beginning to the end. He also never clarifies when he actually began to use cocaine.
Diamond Curtis Isn't that something? The one time he wasn't wrong it blows up. But it's true what they say about pressure busting pipes. Like Ronnie said, he been doing that since they were kids. The history of Bob running long on stage was a fact. They did let him wrong long though. Saw them in concert once & us in the audience loved him, but we wanted to see the other guys too. He'd go over an hours overtime and NE always had the shortest times.
They were all young, dumb and had big egos. Someone mentioned it earlier that this biography was long overdue. This is the therapy they all needed. Now they can move forward and have peace once and for all.
Huli 1234 really it was the manager they had at the time bcuz when he said he had to go they were like bobby is bobby we have no problem then just give him a warning or something they were crying when they were made to cut him off
After watching this series, you realize that Ricky Bell was probably in a much much worse place than Bobby Brown. For all Bobby's wildness and antics with Whitney Houston, he still was "successful". He was still on tour, he was still making money, he still had income, he still had his fame. His issues with drugs and such were just more public due to him being with Whitney Houston. Ricky's issues played out mainly in private, but he was in a much much worse place because he didn't have what Bobby had. He didn't have fame, he had no money, etc... His life was in a steady decline, and he turned to drugs, and from what it seems a lot harder than Bobby did.
Trust and believe he was on drugs wayyyy before that. The music industry is hard and drugs are easily accessible. A lot of them are so restless they turn to drugs just to keep going. It could start off with over the counter sleeping pills to hardcore prescription drugs. Drugs has been the narrative of so many musicians, white, black, oriental.
Free Play Mode ... But Bobby mainly still had access to money and a certain lifestyle because he was married to Whitney, and he only stayed in the limelight because he stayed in trouble with the law, which is great for the media. Plus, MADD TV kept his and Whitney's drug issues a focal point for many of their funny skits. That kept them somewhat relevant as well because it kept people's attention on them--even if it was negative attention. Bobby's only smash album was "DBC." That was released in '88. If he hadn't have married Whitney, he would have fell low on funds and off the mainstream playlist in the mid-90s just like all the rest.
I saw NE in Memphis the night Whitney Houston died! the show was delayed . then all of a sudden this girl next to us pulled out her phone and said " Whitney Houston died yall that's why the show late". it was so sad but they still performed. Bobby tried his best but he couldn't do.. he said I love yall but I can't do this and stated crying and left.

I ain't go lie this movie had me feelin some type of way about Bobby lol. This movie was seriou, my best friend was like "you gotta pause you life for 3 days" lol...I mean no happy hour or nothing just straight to the house and get ready for the show ok!!!
3:26 So essentially the fight happened because Bobby was doing something to cover for one of them that didn't show up, then when they finally got there they weren't told that Bobby was still out there because he was covering for him. So he went and interrupted Bobby's set, assuming he was just being selfish. Understandable why a fight could stem from that. It was actually Bobby doing something that wasn't "the selfish Bobby being Bobby" stuff they always assumed or pinned on him, and because Ricky and Mike didn't tell Ronnie that they told Bobby to keep going cause he wasn't there, he assumed it was 'just one of those times' and that caused Bobby to get pissed. I think what it all comes down to, in a lot of these situations is lack of communication. You always find, in a lot of these situations, they could have all been handled with 'a conversation'. Just sitting down and talking. But the long and short of it is. Ronnie was late, so Bobby was told to keep going. When Ronnie arrived, Mike and Ricky didn't tell Ronnie that the reason Bobby was still out there was because he was late. So therefore Ronnie assumed it was just "Bobby being Bobby" and went and interrupted the set. Which is what caused the fight. So in THIS instance, Bobby wasn't in the wrong, but because of his 'history' he was treated as such. But ultimately, it could have been defused super fast had Mike and Ricky told Ronnie that Bobby was out there covering for time cause he was late, then there likely wouldn't have been a fight.
That concert was good in 97 in DC...I didn't know all this was going on! Loving the movie...great actors great biopic of NE! You guys deserve the best after all you went through. Telling the story and allowing the healing to take place is what truly matters!
But it just crazy when I watch the whole movie about them make it the whole group falling apart because two of them guys from New Edition was doing drugs I was surprised about the situation to see Bobby on drugs see Ricky on drugs Whitney Houston so many others but I don't understand why everybody sniffing on heroin that is so retarded
one of the best biopic done since five heartbeats and the temptations, very well cast this story brought back alot of childhood memories for me and a few surprises too like I never knew how ron came in the group and that ricky had a drug problem
As bobby said, after all of the up's and down's of the group as whole no matter what they went through with each other at this time in there lives ( which I think is most important )that they all still remained friends after all of it. It takes a lot to do that these days.
N.E will always be our generation's Temptations...the best thing about it there music 🎶 will never get old to us! My wish is that every now and again they'll always break bread, reminisce, support and always show love to each other as brothers cause we as fans see them that way.
We NEED MORE, Story on New Edition!! A Part 4, 5, & 6!! Also, BET or Lifetime needs to do a story on The Debarge Group!!!YAAAS, We NEED to SEE that movie, TOO!!!
New Edition-Temptations Bobby Brown- David Ruffin Ralph Tresvant- Eddie Kendricks Johnny Gill- Dennis Edwards Ricky Bell- Paul Williams Michael Bivins- Otis Williams Ronnie Devoe- Melvin Franklin
May Flower hhaaa!! Why my dad, 73 years old mind you, JUST said the same thing!! "When will they do a Boyz 2 Men movie?!" I didn't even know he knew who B2M was!! 🙊
Bobby's fashion to this day is on point yo I can't even front talk about a brother who knows how to look fly all the time they should give him an award or something for that straight up ❤️
No matter the mess up history.....you guys are legends. Love every one of you....love the movie. Couldn't get enough that's how amazing it was. Actors were super awesome 🥰 One Love from Jamaica
THIS IS A STORY OF FORGIVENESS!! I absolutely love this video. It shows their growth. makes me want to cry...I love seeing friends and family forgive...awesome movie...awesome men...great job you all....even the actors...awesome NE.
May God bless them all, this movie was so great. Amazing to see this timeless group's journey played out. I got teary after Ralph and Johnny talked their issues out and recorded Can You Stand the Rain, soooooooo good....much love
I personally understand Bobby's struggle. if you see where he comes from then you would understand why he was taking control and really going after his dream. As he said in the movie, " we some superstars or at least I am "
Its hard to say since it was somewhat different. In the Jackson's I felt it went in deeper, but since they were a family it would've been easier to do it like that.
I ❣ how they still representing Boston in their shows... never forgot where they came from. Much Love for our hometown boyz... and yes I am from the "Bury"
The Bobby Brown Story was awesome. I didn't think it could one-up 'The New Edition Story' in terms of being compelling...but surprisingly, it did IMHO. There was a whole lot of craziness going on with those guys back then. That they are all still alive to tell the story is both a blessing and a lesson for other aspiring artists.
Fantastic movie. But Bobby's bitterness of not being lead haunted that group. He was an A' hole. In the end Bobby was actually the most talented. He was the 1st and best singer dancer and rapper in one. He highlighted the New Jack Swing and a new dance style that brought an end to the Michael Jackson Moonwalk breakdance era. He had the Gumby his own signature hairstyle that influenced black fashion. He was the 1st bad boy balladier. Which gave rise to Usher and Chris Brown.
This made me respect their story more and appreciate bobby like they're story was touchin and when they got back after ron's wedding was beautiful I LOVE THEM ALL THANK YOU BET for aharing their story
this was going on in my era!..i went to the concerts..i bought the Albums(vinyls)..and as a fan i saw this group and ADORED THEM ALL..and NEVER would i think in a million years that those young men lived in the projects throughtout a huge portion of their career!!! it was ashame how they were treated...and im soooo glad to see them ALL SURVIVE THAT!!!!! and are all still here to tell the story and reap the benefits of their hard work and acheivements!!!....many many blessings to them ALL....there was some real life lessons we could all learn from their Biopic!
The entire 3 days of New Edition was wonderful
Cynthia Faith They recreated every single moment to the T.
Cynthia Faith amen
Cynthia Faith IKR you should hear the reviews they are saying it's #EMPIRE before #EMPIRE
Cynthia Faith indeed it was great
yasss
It takes a lot to own up to your mistakes.
Yes it does and they all owned up to their mistakes. That in itself will continue to be therapy for them all in the long run.
Bryshere and mike literally sound exactly alike. This casting is top tier
Take notes Lifetime. This is how you do a biography. Well done BET, well done!
lifesaver72 👏👏👏👏👏

Maybe because bobby had to be the center of attention
Yeah. That could have been it. Bobby was out of control!
RICKY BELL DRUG PROBLEM SURPRISED THE HELL OUT OF ME
I was talking to my mother about that I went " DID YOU KNOW !?" she said I know right shocked the hell outta me too 😂😂 everybody thought it was only Bobby
Yep, just like everybody thought Bobby introduced Whitney Houston to drugs.
Brandon Harley me to
Whitney mother admitted that Whitney was doing drugs before Bobby. Cocaine was popular drug for celebrities in the 80s and still is.
I was shocked, but it all comes with the territory....
I am glad that all 6 are alive and well to tell their NE story after 40 years in the business. It is truly a sight to see, they are one of the best groups ever!
Great point, watching the show, I thought "how are they all still alive?"
miscommunication is always a problem.. thank goodness social media wasnt around...
I love Bobby Brown!!! This bio shows Bobby had a good heart. He may have been a little arrogant at times but he never held grudges, he's a good dude!
That's what I thought, you can't help but love him flaws and all.
kim24may Foreal..they tried to kick mike out 1st and bobby wasn't with it..then they voted him out later smh lol

kim24may I said the Champ is here..his style reminded me so much of David from the Temptations
I can kind of see what you mean ... I talk about stuff like that in my review video on my channel!
Yazz playing Mike was like watching Cube's son play Ice Cube. Great casting
Yea he nailed that
facts !
The lil Mike did his thing too
He did that!
You totally forget that he’s Hakeem from Empire. He showed that he has range and can play someone other than an obnoxious spoiled rapper. I thought the movie was A+ and so was his portrayal
*I didn't want this 3 day biopic to end!* It was good!!
Mia Carter I was just saying this today!
Too good! I've been watching it a lot online.
***** Same. Been watching all the re-runs and seeing stuff I hadn't noticed the first time.
Mia Carter Ditto!
Mia Carter I cried at the end.
Poor Johnny. I feel sorry for him. Caught in the middle of all the drama.
Crystal Grose...I agree. I just said the same thing watching New Edition talk about the ups and downs in this video.
Crystal Grose right 💯 he came to the group clueless off hand
Exactly!!!
He stayed and got paid.
@@kstarrify yep and he was already paid.

KT Thomas I said the Champ is here lmao..Bobby was that dude & his swag reminded me of David Ruffin from the Temptations. .I liked Mike flav too
KT Thomas Okay Im over forty and Bobby Brown back in those days was that one...Yes he was fire dancing, singing, and rapping.
2KILLAVILLE right ! I am 40 and I know what Bobby is about .. You are absolutely right
I don't understand
Yes, but working with a person like him is hell.
I swear Bobby had the best outfits!!! That Neon Green looked really good on Woody... looking like a delicious snack
T Smith PRAISE HIS NAME, SIS!!

Monica Logan 💯 i notice that too
Monica Logan they didn't tell that. Made Bobby look bad. Remember he wasn't there much because of Bobbi Kristina.
summerpassion1 $
wow Janet too they talk about that too but Janet always like bad boy
Monica Logan they didn't show that in the biopic
Bobby was a mess from 1985 to the early 2000s but one thing is for sure, he always tells the truth no matter how ugly it sounds or looks.
The actor that plays Johnny Gill nailed everything! He even sounds like the real JG.
Luke James Is his name.

Yes, you could turn your back to the tv, and think Mike is there, great job by everyone, especially the music videos.
Kim Scottt right, I can't stop saying it. he might not look like him but his swag and voice was on part.
Kim Scottt I said the same. Thing!
Kim Scottt do 😂

Boys II Men, I wanna see that.
Young Iverson yes yes they need their dues
Young Iverson YEAH THAT WOULD BE COOL!
I loved this movie!!! This movie should be a cautionary tale for anyone getting into the music business
ROSLYN JONES Absolutely. This should be shown to anyone trying to get until the music industry and entertainment as a whole.
ROSLYN JONES THIS TYPE OF BULLSHIT BEEN HAPPENING BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN BORN! IT WASN'T THEM, IT WAS THE MANAGEMENT THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEMS!
This and Badfinger
one of the best biopic done since five heartbeats and the temptations, very well cast this story brought back alot of childhood memories for me and a few surprises too like I never knew how ron came in the group and that ricky had a drug problem
Mary Price The Five Heartbeats wasn't a Biopic The Five heartbeats based on the dells
I love this man!! That's my Bobby!!!
Ashaki Gaden I said The Champ is Here!!!
Say it Loud, Yes!!!!!!!
Yes, King Bobby is my favorite❤❤❤

It's here!
Tyesha Brown they did did you watch it
Can't wait for the DVD. ...uncut.......
Robert Owens agreed
Agreed 💯💯💯
As bobby said, after all of the up's and down's of the group as whole no matter what they went through with each other at this time in there lives ( which I think is most important )that they all still remained friends after all of it. It takes a lot to do that these days.
ugh bobby neon green suit was my fav look . woody killed it ! 😍😍😍😍
"I believe I was married" 😂🤣
Right. Lol I caught that
I caught that too
5:32 I love this part of Ricky telling how they were able to work some of their issues out cuz they actually was able to talk about it
Still love you Bobby!!! The NE Story and The Bobby Brown story were EXCELLENT!!!
That green suit was hella crisp though. I keep replaying that one scene just to see it again lol
bobby was da best character
godzangel100 Yea I liked Bobby & Mike flav the most

Weirdly UniqueBih it's on fb. Just type New Edition movie, and you'll see the 3 hour version.
Choreography was so bad back then omg Brooke had them right
New Edition-Temptations
Bobby Brown- David Ruffin
Ralph Tresvant- Eddie Kendricks
Johnny Gill- Dennis Edwards
Ricky Bell- Paul Williams
Michael Bivins- Otis Williams
Ronnie Devoe- Melvin Franklin
You gotta respect their transparency. That took courage! Great movie.
He got on a hat that says "Too High to Die" lmao
I mean he use to get tooo high and he never died😂🤣
Best bio pic ever now I am just waiting for the #BOYZ2MEN bio pic
May Flower hhaaa!! Why my dad, 73 years old mind you, JUST said the same thing!! "When will they do a Boyz 2 Men movie?!" I didn't even know he knew who B2M was!! 🙊
May Flower we need one for Jodeci as well
ifgodwz1ovus That's how good #Boyz2Men was they got to all generations
Keenan Taylor I so agree
May Flower I want to see that too I am still very curious as to the real reason why Michael left
Bobby's fashion to this day is on point yo I can't even front talk about a brother who knows how to look fly all the time they should give him an award or something for that straight up ❤️
💯
He used crazy instead of immature and undisciplined. That tour messed them up financially.
We need a Jodeci miniseries IMMEDIATELY!
Sonic Tha Hedgehog we need a ready for the world miniseries
No matter the mess up history.....you guys are legends. Love every one of you....love the movie. Couldn't get enough that's how amazing it was. Actors were super awesome 🥰 One Love from Jamaica
Loving my Bobby B
Creolekisses World can’t wait for Bobby’s Biopic to come out! More personal details will be displayed in the movie than NE Biopic👍
I love Bobby, he's great.
whoever picked Bobby's character was ON POINT!!
They found the perfect actors for the movie
I personally understand Bobby's struggle. if you see where he comes from then you would understand why he was taking control and really going after his dream. As he said in the movie, " we some superstars or at least I am "
New Edition is R & B musical royalty 👑👑👑👑👑👑any body who is a fan fast forward to the year 2022 attend their tour and enjoy lifetime of great music NE👑
I hate to say this but this biopic might be coming for "The Jacksons - An American Dream " bio pic crown. This was put together very well by BET.
Its hard to say since it was somewhat different. In the Jackson's I felt it went in deeper, but since they were a family it would've been easier to do it like that.
NE came in a close second to the Jacksons
The temptations was best!!!
I give Bobby credit for admitting he went left
the bar really is on the floor for men
These guys new to go into a house with Iylanya Vanzant, (fix my life) and really do some healing
Good they have worked/still working on healing. Outside the music they are friends, we all can learn something from them.
Ron Collier amen brotha!
We need to see a "Fix My Life- New Edition" special! Y'all need to work ALL those issues out!
I ❣ how they still representing Boston in their shows... never forgot where they came from. Much Love for our hometown boyz... and yes I am from the "Bury"
I love these interviews from the real members!!
Thank God for maturity 😂❤️ Bobby came a long way!
Too many damn commercials!!!!
804 King of Foams & J's very true. glad I DVRd it. I get to ff thru all of them
MissBeeline's Natural Hair Yes me too
804 King of Foams & J's/ YES!!!! WAY TOO MANY! WTF
804 King of Foams & J's ...I thought I was the only 1 who noticed....like every ten minutes....however best bio I've seen in a long time
jay ster 10 mins? Sheeeeeeeid, it was like 5 mins BIO, 3 mins commercials, 7 mins BIO, 3 mins commercials....TURRRRRABULLLL
Poor Ralph, he was always there on time & consistent every time too...
Ralph is underrated
turn out to be a great movie New Edition all three parts was worth rushing home to catch
We grew with NE and seeing this movie brought it all back. What an amazing journey this was salute BET.
I love Bobby
When they got back together to do "Still in Love" that was a dope time in New Edition history!
This made me respect their story more and appreciate bobby like they're story was touchin and when they got back after ron's wedding was beautiful I LOVE THEM ALL THANK YOU BET for aharing their story
this was going on in my era!..i went to the concerts..i bought the Albums(vinyls)..and as a fan i saw this group and ADORED THEM ALL..and NEVER would i think in a million years that those young men lived in the projects throughtout a huge portion of their career!!! it was ashame how they were treated...and im soooo glad to see them ALL SURVIVE THAT!!!!! and are all still here to tell the story and reap the benefits of their hard work and acheivements!!!....many many blessings to them ALL....there was some real life lessons we could all learn from their Biopic!
why Johnny hold the mic wit 2 hands 😂😂💁
Teata Barb Green dead 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Back off my dude, yall 😂😂😂
Bobby Brown kept New Edition alive.
Yet they did their most accomplished effort without Bobby (Heartbreak)
Love the cast who played new edition hell I just love new edition
It is amazing seeing a more recent documentary, with the whole group speaking about their journey together, in a more mature and understanding manner.
