i think they should have ended the movie with ralph telling Bobby that Whitney died and the rest of the members being there for him, since they were on tour when it happened. Showing that "no matter what we'll always be there for each other". And how later on that year they were honored at the 2012 soul train awards
Keenan Taylor I think they wanted to include as little of Whitney as possible- you get the feeling that she's around clearly as she was married to Bobby, but I like how the success of this story isn't dependent on her association. In time I hope her story can be done with honesty, dignity and the best intentions like theirs.
Bobby is in the process of getting his own movie based off his book. Whitney will be included in that. I hope he gets the same guy that played him in this to play him in his movie.
And keep it with BET because they did a fantastic job with this. Same producer and everything. Heck, use all the same actors for their part in when it happened.
You could tell how much they took their roles to heart! Fun Fact: The boys didnt talk to each other that day. They're performance was phenomenal in this movie!
There was another incident that happened where someone died. It had to do with what I thought was between New Edition and Guy but it was between the production/road crews of both acts. That was on the news but NOBODY said anything about it. Teddy Riley just recently reiterated that it was between their crews and not the 2 groups. Back then they shut that down. Nobody talked.
dj oldskool young or not he was a pain In the ass he wasn't the first or last young dude , age is no excuse for poor behavior , they were all young . Mike was young , Stevie was young and blind ...
dj oldskool question though .remember when Mike almost killed Bobby he actually said no to voting Mike out, not withstanding his behaviour I blame the record company for not getting more involved in their socialization. I grew up in the ghetto and if I wasn't listening to the right voices I too could have gone out of control.
Alexis Hudson All of this happened becuz..... Ronnie was late so they told Bobby to keep going when Ronnie got there they didn't tell him that and he thought Bobby was just being Bobby so he went on stage and then hell broke loose
The fact that ricky and ralph was just standing there watching every thing go down it was so sad cause ricky was lost trying to figure out why this happened and ralph was just standing there looking disappointed in them
Michael: You know it would be easy for you to leave, Rizz. Ralph: If that was true, your career would’ve ended 10 years ago, Mike. [Rick James voice] *Coldblooded!*
Along with his marriage to Whitney, Bobby was still eating off of his catalog and music publishing. Luckily Johnny was able to bounce back on the music scene quick with that LSG supergroup. Their album was straight dope. Mike was able to use his business savy to start his own label, discovering acts such as Boyz II Men and Another Bad Creator. So he was eating steady. Ronnie found his backup plan in real estate and now he owns his own real estate firm DeVoe Reality. From the looks of things, Ricky and Ralph got the short end of the stick. Ricky's publishing was garnished to pay back fees from the incomplete Home Again tour. With no back up plan and Amy not working, he lost his house and turned to drugs. Ralph ended up getting finessed in his divorce, losing the house, his kids, the cars and assets. Now he hosts a radio show in Boston called Inside The Ride Luckily they all made it through
That's what's makes their relationship so powerful and teer jerking no one was the bad guy or evil they were all young and didn't know how to handle fame some let it went to their heads but they all are together unlike other bands like b2k mindless behavior where there was bad blood backstabbing pettiness 😅
My thing is Ronnie came more than 2 hours late to the time BBD was supposed to go on that night and Ricky and Mike told Bobby to keep performing until he showed up. But in turn he goes off on and comes at Bobby side ways then all that shit occurred! Like you partially responsible too shit!!! Don't put it all on him. They didn't communicate for shit and all this could have been avoided.
Here's the thing, BBD did an interview on the Breakfast Club recently and they said Ronnie's uncle had his heart attack in L.A., not in Las Cruces like it was depicted in the movie and that was the reason Ronnie was late, not to mention his bus broke down! He was pissed because Bobby didn't bother to check up on him nor his uncle more so than him hogging the stage, even though Bobby had a history going overtime on stage! They way I see it, Ronnie was the quiet, laid back dude in the group so if he snapped, he probably had very good reason!
Juicy Jay Exactly. Bobby had been pulling stunts during that whole tour so Ronnie’s anger was already there. Okay, maybe Ronnie was misguided on that night, but an ass whoop was coming to Bobby. I wasn’t mad.
No one seems to be mentioning that he was smoking heavily too. his Health was a factor. But overall it was a great mini series they actually performed the hits. these guys deserve Emmy nominations and Grammy nominations too.
Bobby was shady AF. He admitted that he had side deals with the promoter and was getting money from some of the sponsors too, without telling the others. That's just low down. He was all for Bobby.
Mike tried it with Ralph by getting in his face. Just cuz he had a hit record called "Sensitivity" don't mean he was that dude anybody could just step to. he told Mike's big mouth ass.
I love him he was always the peace maker always evreything to be good if it wasn't for him there would be no new edition he got the band together in the first place he's a underrated singer
What made this miniseries good overall is that every member was involved with the production. I think what makes the series great is that it has a happy ending and all members are back together to this day 💯👏
Now this is proof to know that Brooke cares about these boys he knew back then they had lots of brotherhood but it was destroying piece by piece it was too much for Brooke to see his boys/sons to see them fight... even Brooke’s own heart was breaking 💔
I saw NE on this tour in Atlanta at the Omni in Feb 97, it’s funny because during one part of the show when they were all together on stage Bobby began singing and Ronnie eventually cut him off and Bobby “jokingly” made a remark about it, seemed to be part of the act but it’s clear there was real tension during that tour, i must say though I’ve never seen a show where the guys looked out of character, always kept it professional on stage.
Love NE, the cast did an awesome job portrying these very talented men. The entire cast from boys to adults. The acting was so real, this scene touched my heart. Mr. Brooke Payne may not have known the financial side of the industry but it seems he was a father figure and protector of the men, not just choreographer.. It's a gift that he was in their lives . Thanks for the Biopic.
I just honestly find this so sad, that this is what NE actually came to! You think about the innocence and their tight friendship in the beginning of their career or in the movie and then it comes to all of them fist fighting and cussing at each other. Man fame really changes the heart!
This mini series introduced New Edition to younger fans that's like 3 generations where they have their core fan base and their kids and their kids enjoying New Edition and singing their songs
Ralph turn down alot of Record deals for New Edition when they were Younger and they just dnt know he never told them thats luv and a REAL FRIEND but I think its time Ralph tell what happen and Why they became big in the first Place because Ralph had so much love for New Edition they were family a Team a pack and Ralph wasnt letting nothing break them up PERIODT!!!! Alway luv Ralph he deserves a lot of Respect he made sure the Group came FIRST PERIODT!!!! LUV you Ralph and New Edition alway
To think Luke James(Johnny) and Elijah Kelley(Ricky) were both on the Fox series Star, while Bryshere Y. Gray(Michael) and Wood Harris(Brooke) were both on Empire.
But it wasn't entirely Bobby's fault, miscommunication and all of their egos was the cause of the break-up. Bobby was told to keep going because Ronnie was late, and when Ronnie got their he thought Bobby was just being a glory-hound but the others didn't tell him they told Bobby to keep going.
I can only like this clip because of the fine acting abilities portrayed on screen. My heart breaks for All 6 because of the obvious pain they were going through during that time. I especially empathize with Brooke as the father figure who could only stand by and watch his kids destroy all their hard work and not be able to stop them. NE4Life
You know when you messed up when you make Ronnie mad, he always laid back and calm.

2:35 that one step he did had me dying...I don't know why 😂😂
You could tell how much they took their roles to heart! Fun Fact: The boys didnt talk to each other that day. They're performance was phenomenal in this movie!
Michelle A The actors
mini carr before they did this scene you mean?
this movie was phenomenal I really love these guys definitely my favorite singing group
That was worldstar before there even was a world star #NEWEDITIONSTORY
There was another incident that happened where someone died. It had to do with what I thought was between New Edition and Guy but it was between the production/road crews of both acts. That was on the news but NOBODY said anything about it. Teddy Riley just recently reiterated that it was between their crews and not the 2 groups. Back then they shut that down. Nobody talked.
Watching this movie I'm glad they voted Bobby out the group he was just a huge pain in the ass
dj oldskool no he was juss a youngin living like a youngin
dj oldskool young or not he was a pain In the ass he wasn't the first or last young dude , age is no excuse for poor behavior , they were all young . Mike was young , Stevie was young and blind ...
they told him to keep going because Ronnie was late
dj oldskool question though .remember when Mike almost killed Bobby he actually said no to voting Mike out, not withstanding his behaviour I blame the record company for not getting more involved in their socialization. I grew up in the ghetto and if I wasn't listening to the right voices I too could have gone out of control.
he's not worthy to play music in front of everyone.
I always wondered who the guy with the glasses was in the beginning of the if it isn't love video, now I know. Much respect to Brooke Payne.
mzspargo it was jamie foxx lol
Lmao, no it wasn't 😂It did look like him though 👌🏾
I thought it was jimmie Foxx, damn they look alike.
@@raydokai8142 They really do! Lmao
Bobby got on my nerves here. He knew good and well it was his fault. Luke in that red and black!
Alexis Hudson it wasn't bobby fault he was told to keep goin cuz Ronnie was late
Uzi Prince i didn't pay attention to the fact that he was late so it wasnt bobby fault
Alexis Hudson 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nicole Love so Bobby wasn't the cause of all that went down? that's what I saw. maybe my interpretation was wrong.
Alexis Hudson All of this happened becuz..... Ronnie was late so they told Bobby to keep going when Ronnie got there they didn't tell him that and he thought Bobby was just being Bobby so he went on stage and then hell broke loose
The fact that ricky and ralph was just standing there watching every thing go down it was so sad cause ricky was lost trying to figure out why this happened and ralph was just standing there looking disappointed in them
Facts they just wanted a good time and make money but egos destroyed that for them
Michael: You know it would be easy for you to leave, Rizz.
Ralph: If that was true, your career would’ve ended 10 years ago, Mike.
[Rick James voice] *Coldblooded!*
Daekwon Da Prophet DAMN RALPH IS A SAVAGE
everybody was lookin fine in this part. but lol Ronnie said A HARTATEK 😭😭😭 but this was the most intense part of the movie tbh
Destiny Simon lol Keith has that strong accent...
No he was trying to do their Boston accent.
Now he hosts a radio show in Boston called Inside The Ride
Luckily they all made it through
Slick was like Kimberly Elise in set it off "I neeeeeeed this money" 🤣
This was so sad
It’s crazy to see how NE can recover from anything, had an entire brawl and still talk to this day
That's what's makes their relationship so powerful and teer jerking no one was the bad guy or evil they were all young and didn't know how to handle fame some let it went to their heads but they all are together unlike other bands like b2k mindless behavior where there was bad blood backstabbing pettiness 😅
I wasn’t mad.
johnny: "What?! You ain't do shit for me!" DEAAAD
Raulph's face at 2:40 like " bitch we didn't need you" 😂😂
Hollidae Coleman Lmaooooo
No one seems to be mentioning that he was smoking heavily too. his Health was a factor. But overall it was a great mini series they actually performed the hits. these guys deserve Emmy nominations and Grammy nominations too.
It was not Bobby Brown fault it was all they fault he hated seeing them fighting like that.
Bobby was shady AF. He admitted that he had side deals with the promoter and was getting money from some of the sponsors too, without telling the others. That's just low down. He was all for Bobby.
Both of you did not pay attention to the movie it was not Bobby Brown fault.
Ben Dover Well I apologize
Ben Dover Thanks
it not bobby felt or they so be 😯 they need stop fihgting
I felt Ralph Tresvant felt unappreciated and Mike Bivins was being ungrateful.
Mike tried it with Ralph by getting in his face. Just cuz he had a hit record called "Sensitivity" don't mean he was that dude anybody could just step to. he told Mike's big mouth ass.
a-hole mike b
Lots of ignorance on display here...Mike is the reason they still had careers at this point...but Ralph's fans are something else...
@@te4888they stayed lowkey tryna punk Ralph with the "soft" comments
@@KawaiianKing Yeah. That wasn't cool.
Poor Ricky Bell, he practically didn't know what to do with his life. His friendship with the others made him a sucsess
I love his voice such handsome men
I love him he was always the peace maker always evreything to be good if it wasn't for him there would be no new edition he got the band together in the first place he's a underrated singer
What made this miniseries good overall is that every member was involved with the production. I think what makes the series great is that it has a happy ending and all members are back together to this day 💯👏
This is around the time Bobby drug and alcohol addiction took its toll on him the group said the addiction took the better of him
Bobby brown said he is high on drugs
Keith's performance always gives me chills! He did that 👏🏾
I just honestly find this so sad, that this is what NE actually came to! You think about the innocence and their tight friendship in the beginning of their career or in the movie and then it comes to all of them fist fighting and cussing at each other. Man fame really changes the heart!
Look at them now. Even more sad.
2:33 ‘WHAT?!’ Gets me every time 😂 love Luke ♥️
why Hakeem Bivins dodging bullets like Neyo
M.L. Rayton I know I'm 9 months late but my God that made me laugh hard.
M.L. Rayton it’s Michael bivins not Hakeem he plays Hakeem in empire
Keith’s Story Issa joke
I felt so bad for Ronnie
Me too
Same
"That's mine!,that's mine!" My heart😭
All this chocolate in one scene tho😍😍
This mini series introduced New Edition to younger fans that's like 3 generations where they have their core fan base and their kids and their kids enjoying New Edition and singing their songs
People make mistakes when they are young. They all had a lot of growing to do. They are still brothers. The past is just that the past.
They were close to 30 at that time (96)
@@FreshPrincex4 Johnny was already 30
THIS WAS THE SAD PART, BUT I'M GLAD TO SEE THEY ALL GOT BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!!!
Emotional! I remember when this was on the news, BET did such a good job recreating NE falling apart.
If they don't get a Grammy for this movie I'm jumping off a cliff!!!
This is a TV movie, so I think you meant an Emmy
It be the quietest ones who really pop like a top 😆 ( and rightfully so!)
"Y'all crazy" 💀😂😂😂
I think Ronnie was passive aggressive until his unvle had a heart attack. Then the beast came out of him.
Bryshere is stacked in this movie. He must've bulked up a little for this role. It is all good
Ralph turn down alot of Record deals for New Edition when they were Younger and they just dnt know he never told them thats luv and a REAL FRIEND but I think its time Ralph tell what happen and Why they became big in the first Place because Ralph had so much love for New Edition they were family a Team a pack and Ralph wasnt letting nothing break them up PERIODT!!!! Alway luv Ralph he deserves a lot of Respect he made sure the Group came FIRST PERIODT!!!! LUV you Ralph and New Edition alway
😂 Jonnie Gill said "I AIN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS" 😂
Despite of all the drama and fights I'm glad to see them all back together ❤️
I felt Ronnie's pain
oh yes !
Me too
They are in phenomenal shape, beautiful! And who knew Johnny Gill cursed.....gasp!
Oh Johnny has a foul mouth…..I’ve heard him curse many of times in interviews.
@@carolinagirl3110 Behind The Music, New Edition(2005) He cusses multiple times in it.
To think Luke James(Johnny) and Elijah Kelley(Ricky) were both on the Fox series Star, while Bryshere Y. Gray(Michael) and Wood Harris(Brooke) were both on Empire.
2:35 *smoove turn around*
🗣 “BOY YOU BETTA WATCH YO MOUF”
Me when my lil' cuz try to show out and act smart to me in front of company
Woody McClain will star the movie Bobby Brown Every Litttle Step
Jamal Smalls its just Called 'The Bobby Brown Story'
Like the whole movie bobby was making me mad but other wise this whole thing was excellent
Exactly! I don't know the group did it. If I was Ronnie I would've punched Bobby. He always made it about him.
I'm glad Ronnie found him before it was too late thank the LORD AMEN
poor ricky
That scene was intense
What a sad scene. I heard about the fight years ago on MTV, but i had no idea it was this bad.
Maiyaki Mickey Broadnax They said it was worst in real life 🤦🏾♀️ smh.
They said I’m real life it was worse
Mike dodged tf outta that bullet lol he said some, "Ooop not me. Won't hit me bitch!" LMFAO
I can only like this clip because of the fine acting abilities portrayed on screen. My heart breaks for All 6 because of the obvious pain they were going through during that time. I especially empathize with Brooke as the father figure who could only stand by and watch his kids destroy all their hard work and not be able to stop them. NE4Life
