Converting Excel to SPSS and transforming data

Could you please answer the question regarding the importance of Type and Measure of data in Spss if in the dialog box of descriptive cant see the variables. So, shall I change the type only? ?Thank you

To my knowledge, it is often not important to differentiate between 'Scale" and 'ordinal' data in SPSS, but if your data is nominal, you may get an error message with some analysis. This means you should change the level to scale or ordinal.

Hi Dr. i have a question, i have no missing values in my data, when i make a multiple response for a tick all that apply question, missing values appear in the case summary, but when i made a frequency table individually for every option it gave me no missing values.How should i manage my problem?

When I edited the variabel view. Change the measure from nominal into scale. Change into numeric too. Not string. And surelly all data are numbers. But then the data view are gone. Could you plase help me whts going on ?

Hi sir i need your help. When i have done automatic recode, the number that been show in spss decide by nominal right. But i want to change them to scale because i have 1-6 scale. But it not changes to what scale i want. So how?

From the variable type menu, you can easily change the type to Scale.
