Hello, is a “yes and no” option always an ordinal scale?

actually speaking yes and no does not have any order. therefore, ideally, it is nominal but some researchers take them as an ordinal scale saying that yes is a higher-order and no is lower order.

You can collect all the responses in excel and then you can import them into SPSS file. Secondly, you can directly create the spss sheet. You can opt for the convenient way you like. Good Luck. Keep researching.

I'm not done with the video but I did notice for the "yes" or "no" question you chose values 1 and 2 but in the variable chart they were assigned 0 for no and 1 for yes. the values of yes and no are indicative. you can select any values based on your convenience. This will have an impact on the interpretation of results.
